Austin was the POC but the work was headed up by a young chap from the Ukraine, Mykola and a lot of the crew seemed to be from Mexico, neither of which is a bad thing. I lived out of state so it was a little more difficult to oversee the project. However, I have done several long distance renovations previously and several local ones also so I was not worried, after I found the right contractor. They ripped up all the carpeting, pads, treated the walls, ceiling, doors, trim and then primed/painted over it. Did some drywall repair and repaired a gutter. Added new solid DR hardwood floor. Had some blowers inside to expel the air. I had control samples taken before the renovation by certified technicians since I was going to sell the house. I wanted to be able to prove the house was mold free to potential sellers. Even after the remediation, it failed the first time. However, the warranty covered any additional work at no extra cost until the house passed. It passed on the second test. Austin generally did a decent job orchestrating everything. He was going to sub the carpeting out to a specialized carpet installation shop but ultimately went with Home Depot instead due to scheduling constraints. Home Depot came out and measured and Dry Tek signed off on the plan without me ever seeing it. I showed up on site unannounced and found that Home Depot planned to put the seams right down the center of the LR and master BR. No way, I asked them to take it back, order new carpet, and place the seams in less obvious areas. Home Depot agreed, at no extra cost, but it did take longer. It was important to use a big box store so I could select the products without having to travel down to MD. Overall, Dry Tek did a good job.

An EXCELLENT, PROFESSIONAL job. Very organized and customer focused. I had a damp crawlspace where the prior owner was dumping AC condensate and dryer venting directly to crawlspace. After I rerouted everything, I wanted it continually dry, and they did a great job. Hired them because they are rated high on Angies list! Their estimate was right on target. They explained everything and walked me through what the job would entail. After my approval, they came on time, got it done, and showed me every step as they completed it. Highly recommend them!

The service that was provided by Dry Tek Environmental was excellent. Since 2011 when Dry Tek removed mole from our crawl space and install de-humidifers the crawl space temperature and humidity is excellent. The crawl space was done so well that the company that installed our new heat pump compliment on how nice it was to work under the house. I also must add Austin is excellent to work with, he always returns your calls or emails in a timely matter.

I use them all of the time. They worked on an encapsulated crawl space. After the storm Sandy came through, they made sure that water that had gotten into the crawl space. The first work they did for me they charged but since then they will come back and do little things that need to be done and they don't charge me. When they put the new top on the sump pump they didn't charge me, they just did it.
Description of Work: I called them and they came out and did the job for nothing. All it needed was a new top for the sump pump. They just came back a few months ago to check to make sure everything was okay.

Dry Tek, Austin Ireland and his crew are the most professional people that you could ever deal with, honest, smart, full of integrity and they don't try to up sell you. Austin gave me a price for doing my crawl space and he said we was using 6 ml plastic for the job and I asked for a heavier plastic, he assured me that the 6 ml is all I needed. So there was no pressure to up sell the job, however I did get them to install the system using 12 ml (it's my ADHD). Dry Tek was in and out in 2 days. From ugly to unbelievable...talk about the WOW factor...when Austin quoted the job he let me know that this would only take care of the moisture from the top of the barrier it wouldn't resolve my water issue under the plastic...so I did the minimal and it did keep the water out except from some seams in the plastic that had to be fixed with a higher grade tape...I notice the little bit of water on top of the barrier after a heavy rain and called Dry-Tek on a Saturday and thought I was going to leave a message for Monday when Austin picked up the phone and I told him what I found he had "MK" the supervisor on the job out to see what was happening that day....WOW factor again.....Austin and MK advised me that I should consider putting in a mini drain field under the plastic with a sump pump that would and did take care of any and all moisture under my house....Dry Tek put the drain field in. It took them less than a day to do at a great price!!!! I have had water under my house for 13 yrs, except for NOW...no water....just a clean and bright crawl space that when it comes time for me to sell this house the next owner probable would pay more because of the care and shape of the crawl space let alone the house....Dry Tek gives up profits for customer satisfaction....they are a Diamond in the Rough....anybody that wants to talked to me about this experience I will take your call....Dry Tek has my number....Great Job Austin.....thanks for everything...A.J. Owens, SBY Md.

I took several months to decide whether this system was worth the price tag (would it really make a difference in the moisture coming into my home?) But now that the job is complete, I can answer with a resounding "YES!" Since installation three months ago there has been no moisture in my home. No mold on leather items stored in closets, no humidity and suffocating dampness in the air. It's a relief that I no longer have to combat this annoying and dangerous problem in my 1860's historic home. Dry-Tek had very reasonable costs compared to other bids I received on similar systems. The only problem I encountered was that the work took longer and ran two weeks beyond predicted schedule. They also cut through my underground electric pet fence, but promptly paid the bill for its repair. They were responsive to every call during the process, and even came out again to answer questions since the install was complete. I would highly recommend them.

Austin from Dry-Tek was the most helpful, honest and professional person that we had come out to give an estimate. We ended up having to have other work done first but once we're finished with that we will use Dry Tek for sure.
Description of Work: Gave us an estimate on crawl space repair.
Description of Work: On 10/30/13, Dry-Tek (Austin Ireland) checked "crawl space " for moisture and leaks. Found source as water(rain/irrigation) leakage around waste water pipe that carries waste water from inside house to outside drain/sewer. Austin Ireland said all that was needed was the space around the pipe to be cleaned and sealed. They came back on 11/1/13 and did the job.

Sent Dry-Tek an email through their web page, but never received a reply. I finally called Dry-Tek about 2 months later, talked to Austin and set up an appointment for 4/16 at 2:00. He was just a little late. We showed him our mold problem, located inside our geo-thermal air handler, which we showed him by removing the cover. He also explored our crawl space and noted that 1) we had two good size dehumidifiers going, and 2) we had a small amount of mold on some of the beams. I've given him a D on professionalism because 1) he said our dehumidifiers were pulling in humid outside air, which is absolutely *not* how dehumidifiers work (they recycle and dry the inside air), and 2) he wanted to insulate the sides of our crawl space and remove the insulation between the house floor and the crawl space, saying that was the cause of our problem. We explained that the small amount of mold on the beams occurred before we put in the dehumidifiers and has not increased since them. We also had the heating ducts in the crawl space checked and the covering insulation replaced after storm Sandy. There was no mold in the heating ducts in the crawl space. Since we explained to Austin that we didn't have a mold problem in our crawl space, it made no sense that he wanted to do all this insulation work in the space. (Our house is only 6 years old; the crawl space is dry with a cement floor.) We feel that he didn't listen to us and that he just wanted to charge us for a big job that we didn't need. So either he doesn't know how to analyze mold problems or he was trying to con us. A further reason for the D is that he never followed through with us about treating the mold in our air handler, even though we asked him to do this. Responding to Dry-Tek's "Provider Response". I live "far, far, far from civilization"?? I live near Whitehaven, which is all of 17 miles from Salisbury, 20 minutes. We had no problem communicating by phone or email, no matter what Dry-Tek says, so no trouble reaching the company. The representative, Austin, was trying to sell us a snow job, plus never following through on the air handler problem.
Description of Work: We only had one visit from Austin of Dry-Tek. We asked him to clean up the mold on our geo-thermal air handler. He never set up an appointment to do this after his initial visit on a Tuesday, although he said several times he would. He said he would call me in 2 days on Thursday -- he didn't. After I emailed him he said he would call me on Saturday -- he didn't. Then he emailed me that he would send me an estimate by the end of next weekend -- he didn't. I gave up after this.

It should be mentioned that the customer lives far, far, far from civilization. Several attempts were made to reach the customer by telephone with no success. The Customer and I communicated via email on more than one occasion. If Customer was having trouble reaching someone at Dry-Tek he or she should have resumed electronic communication.

The owner of the business finally answered telephone messages (2) left, asking if he might be interested in a mold remediation project. He made an appointment for April 26, 2013 for noon. He did not show and did not call. I have no idea the reason for such unprofessional behavior.

Dry Tek has restored my faith in service companies. I had a very hard time trying to get service from the environment company that had originally repaired the crawlspace about a year before the storm. They wanted to charge a large sum just to come out to look. They told me that I would have to wait weeks for service even though I had a contract with them. After I called Dry Tek., they were out the next day and started the repair work within days. They did a wonderful and professional job. I have called them for help and they have always responed quickly. Recently I had an oder in the house when the heat first came on. I called a heating company. This company said I needed some new duct work and new panning and returns with a cost of several thousand dollars. They charged me $183. for this information. I then called Dry Tek. They were there early the next morning, told me the smell was coming from the sump pump. They put a cover on the pump and the oder is gone. They did not charge me for the service call or the work. They said it was part of their service. Again Dry Tek has restored my faith in service companies.
Description of Work: Dry Tek improved and repaired the encapsulated crawlspace under my house after tropical storm Sandy in October 2012. They replaced the sump pump and dehumidifier that had been damaged by water under the house. They installed insulation that had been damaged. They installed a custom drain system to run to the sump pump. They treated all exposed systems with a fungicide treatment and installed a weather station sensor so I can keep track of the readings under the house. They replaced wet ductwork. They completely restored the crawlspace.

Call was made to Dry-Tek on Friday and the following Mondat they showed up. They entered the crawl space and did visual inspection along with pictures. The crawl space have water in it from the heavy rains the day before. This did not stop them from doing the job. They then took air samplings inside the home and outside for comparative reason. This sampling was sent to a AIHA, EMPAT accredited lab and results for had in 36 hours.
Description of Work: Dry-Tek in Salisbury MD performed two seperate Mold Inspections for us. The process was explained and performed and exceeded our expectations. They performed a visual and spore trap sampling. They provided picturess and detailed analyses. They also offered expedited services that we took advantage of.

Over the years I had heard a wide range of advice about crawl space insulation in Maryland. So I hired a specialist to make sure the job would be done right. I expected Dry-Tek to be somewhat expensive because they are a specialist. Compared to what I was hoping to spend, they were expensive. HOWEVER, and this is a big deal, they did a GREAT JOB. They did an extremely professional job from start to finish. They answered all questions, repeatedly, until I was comfortable with the insulation technology. They followed their own step-by-step protocol, and the result was a crawlspace you could have a picnic on. I've never seen anything so clean under a house. I am very glad that I spent the extra money for a specialist, and got a technology which is more appropriate to the wet, humid climate of Maryland's Eastern Shore. BTW, the styrofoam will never have to be replaced, so over the years, I will get my investment back in savings on batt insulation replacement/labor that will not have to be done.
Description of Work: Inspected crawl space for water, mold, and condition of current insulation. Provided report with photos and explanations. Removed and hauled away all old, icky insulation (looks like Spanish Moss) Blocked foundation vents -- important with new insulation technology. Installed 4" styrofoam boards to inside of foundation block walls. Installed batt insulation on all exterior band boards. Provided new ground cloth. Sent photos of all work performed and new crawlspace.
