SavATree - Maryland & Washington DC

The service from SavATree for the big deal was fine. The service was probably about a year ago. I don't think we had anything else done. I just think that they were professional. The only thing I don't like is that they keep sending us that we need to get it done again and then do this and do that again. We are not going to do that. It was a good deal. I thought that they handled themselves very well. They were fast and clean. They did what they were supposed to do. The price was reasonable because it was a special. I don't have much experience with that service.

Tom Miles & his crew arrived on time ready to work even though it was snowing. Tom & I discussed what was needed to preserve the integrity of this beautiful Crape Myrtle. He is a well-trained arborist who has taken care of all my trees & shrubbery. I have used the SPRINGFIELD SAVATREE COMPANY for many years & will continue to do so. That's how satisfied I've been with their work & I never miss a chance to recommend Tom Miles every chance I get.

Elisabeth Lingo came out today to check out the trees on our property -- we have a 15000sqft lot with a number of very large, mature trees. She walked the property with me, told me about our trees (it's a new property for us), pointed out problem areas (insect infestation, dead limbs, roots growing poorly, etc) and wrote out everything that we could do to help make them safer. That work hasn't been done yet. She was on time, very informative, answered all of my naive new homeowner questions and was very pleasant to work with.

They were good. They said they could come when I was not home but I told them they had to tell me ahead of time because the gate is always locked. However, they came out first without letting me know. They called and said they could not get in the so we scheduled for another date. Then they said they came again and the gate was not open but it was. I think he went to the back gate instead of the front gate. I told me that I would unlock the front gate and finally they were able to do the work. Once I spoke with the manager everything worked out very well. My grass seems to be growing now in my back yard.

They were prompt responsive and did a good job.

The arborist, Liz, arrived in a timely manner for the initial consultation. She listened to my concerns and spent sufficient time evaluating the trees in question. I inquired about any discounts and she informed me of Angies List coupon, which I took advantage of! I did need to make a call to her to confirm a date when the work was to be done. The workers showed up on time and were receptive to my suggestions during the trimming process. The leader/foreman(Will?) was very experienced and knowledgeable. He made sure I was satisfied before completion and they thoroughly cleaned up all debris. I would certainly use Savatree again and have recommended them to friends & family.

It worked out great! They were polite, they were on time, they did everything that I asked of them and they cleaned up the yard; you wouldn't even know they were here. They were very cooperative and they were excellent. The work did turn out wonderful.

Went well, no problems. They didn't have to haul away as I have a wood burning fireplace and they were able to trim and leave on the wood pile. They were very prompt and got all the trees that I needed. They were also able to help identify a spreading crop of poison ivy that had sprung up during the spring of that year. I additionally asked them to come out and treat the posion ivy, which they were glad to arrange. They did tell be that they thought it was going to take several treatments. They didn't come the initial date we discussed but later in the week. They treated my yard and placed signs, but by the time they came out, the poison ivy was encroaching on my house and my grass. It took some time to see the stop of the spread. And my dogs which love to run in the yard had to be restricted because of the chemical treatment. i orignially enrolled in an treatment plan every few months for the poison ivy, but later cancelled it.

first used them with a coupon and was pleased, except for the rude receptionist/scheduler and SLOW follow-up to let me know when they were coming. I wanted to be at home since I had several questions. That receptionist/scheduler is no longer there and the new person is fantastic. They also now work via email which I prefer. I was so pleased with their initial service that I continued with their routine maintenance. My trees have just taken off and flourished!!! Will definitely continue.

The technician came, did his work and left. He was not very informative and did not talk much.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It turned out okay. I paid additional. They were courteous. There were a couple of issues that they resolved to my satisfaction without a big hassle. They showed up when they were supposed to and did the work when they were supposed to do the work.

We had five tree servfice providers look at our tree and submit estimates. Costs: The range was from $1200 to $5725. SavATree was the highest and it included $525 for a dunmpster in the driveway, an added cost/service no other provider included in their estimates. Time to perform work: Most providers estimated one, possibly two days to complete the work. SavATree estimated 3 days. Note : The contractor who was hired arrived at 1:40 pm and was gone by 5:30 pm, with a follow-up pick-up of large stump pieces on the next workday which took an additional 20-25 minutes. Even though there were minor issues with the contractor we did hire, it was more than worth it to save $4525!!!!! Note: Responsiveness rating above refers only to time to respond to request for an estimate.

In the beginning our interaction was good.They changed personnel and the new arborist was difficult to get hold of and communicate with to figure out what we needed to get done so we are not using them anymore. We first worked with an arborist that we really liked. When we needed to have more work done the next year, it appeared that he had left the company and somebody else was put in charge of our account. We tried to get hold of them for a couple of months by sending emails. We finally get hold of him and from then on, it was difficult to get hold of him to set up times for the service. It was too much effort on our part to give them money to do service for us.

It went just fine. They didn't do other work for us. They came and told us what they offered. We had them come and do it. I wasn't dissatisfied with them but we've had a different company that we use for the big stuff. I think if I compared them to the company that we used, they were a little more expensive. I would consider using them in the future.

I was very satisfied with them and I'm still using them. They're very dependable, the price seem reasonable and they're very good in explaining things.

They came when I wasn't home so I didn't really have any contact with them. Setting up the appointment was fine. He called to set up the appointment and he was helpful. That part went well.

Save a tree performed a treatment to kill the woodboring insects that were attacking our maple tree and injected a seaweed based fertilizer around the tree to try and help sustain the tree.

He was prompt, a certified arborist and was honest about how long we would need to have our lawn serviced. The coupon gave us a discount for the first service but the others were and continue to be a discounted price. We have used SaveaTree in the past for tree and stump removal and they were excellent. Since we are were past customers for the trees and current lawn customers when ever there is a threat of a storm, they email me for a VIP number to call if we have any tree removal issues. It is nice to know they are there, and do a good job.

I used them but I didn't really like dealing with them. They showed up when you least expect them. The quality of their work is good but they lack communication with the client. I would recommend them for a one time job type thing rather than a long term contract. They seemed to try and up-sell me as well.

Showed up when they were supposed to and took everything away so you couldn't tell all the work they had done. Had a limb fall on our neighbor's fence that evidently caused minor damage, which they took care of right away and it created no problem for us at all. Really liked dealing with Russell -- very responsive and helpful. Didn't get the sense he was trying to push work on us. Was hesitant to bring down one tree because he thought it might recover. Had the sense that he was honest and straightforward and knew his job.

Giles came out and gave me an estimate that was the most expensive of all the estimates I had received. In fact, he told me that their specialty isn't tree removal and I should go with whomever gave me the best quote. I've never had a service provider tell me this and was floored by his honesty. I asked him to give me an estimate for other tree work in my back yard such as pruning and general tree care for which I 100% will hire him. I have never met someone so passionate about his work.

They did an excellent job and were very nice and did everything they were supposed to.

We originally contracted with Sav-A-Tree in September 2012 and had them perform service on some of our mature trees. Immediately after the service we contacted both the salesman and their office by phone and advised we DID NOT want additional services performed. Sav-A-Tree came to our property WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION in September 2013 and performed an additional service. My wife came home and told their service personnel to leave as they did not have permission to enter our premises. Their office called and advised "We didn't hear from you and assumed you wanted the service continued" then contested our original requests to discontinue additional service after September 2012. They are insisting we pay them for the September 2013 service that we DID NOT WANT PERFORMED and continue to hassle us on this payment WHICH WE CANCELLED immediately after the first service in September 2012. This is at the least bad business practice by assuming we wanted additional service without confirming our two verbal requests (not by voicemail, but by contacting them directly by phone). I WILL NOT do business with them again and if they persist may take additional action by their trespassing on our property without our express permission. All will be OK if they simply do the right thing by crediting a service in full that WE DECLINED a year prior. It's the right thing to do, but to date they have been totally uncooperative and have denied our reasonable request.

They were excellent to work with. The certified arborist is fantastic. He was really knowledgable about all the variety of trees on my property. He was able to give me advice on how to trim the trees appropriately. Their service and follow up was also very good.
