SavATree - Maryland & Washington DC

I called in July, but they were very busy and didn't come out until August. Their arborist, Sara, told me they could treat the one tree (Flowering Cherry), but we both agreed it would be better in the long run to cut it down. The other tree, a red maple, also needed to come down. We scheduled the tree/stump removal a few weeks later. They came out then and efficiently dealt with both trees. We were very pleased.

Sara was professional and helpful, and kept in touch when a project the day of our appointment caused her to be late. She was willing to answer questions about both trees and seemed knowledgeable. Was not pushy about services, but made recommendations that made sense. Price was a little high for some services but a little lower for others. We very seriously considered going with this company but in the end went with another. Will still keep them in mind for future projects.

Everyone involved acted professionally. They responded quickly and knowledgeably to my request for a quote. The work was scheduled quickly and the workers showed up at the agreed time. I was particularly impressed with their attention to safety. Two people pruned the hedge and removed a couple of small trees and some vines that were growing inside the hedge. The only problem was that they did not prune to the correct height. I only noticed this when they were cleaning up. It turned out that they didn't have a tape measure. I measured the desired height and they marked it and then redid the work. While this took significantly longer, the result was what I wanted. Cleanup was done carefully and I was pleased with the whole process.

We hired SavATree to removal a fallen tree and do some branch trimming. They were able to come when we were not at home and do an estimate and then after we approved they went ahead and did the job. There was a little snag with communication, it rained a few times when they were supposed to come out but we never received a message saying that the person was not coming. Maybe people don't normally leave messages for that since it is kind of assumed you don't do tree work in the rain but it would have been nice to get a voicemail instead of having to call them, find out the person couldn't come, and then reschedule the removal and branch trimming appointment.

We had several trees that needed to be removed. One tree in particular had partially fallen on a neighbor's roof, and electric wires were involved. We were anxious to have this tree removed as soon as possible. We called 3 companies, and chose SavATree. Domenic Bello, an arborist with SavATree, came within a couple of days of our call. He noted the problems, recommended what should be done, and described in detail how SavATree would handle the job. We specifically were concerned about not damaging the neighbor's roof. Within a few days, Domenic returned with his 3-person team led by Wilfredo, the foreman. Domenic made sure they knew what to do. Then Wllfredo and his team worked efficiently to remove several trees. They were respectful of our yard and the neighbor's yard and roof. They worked in a timely manner. All debris was removed. We were pleased with SavATree's work; we highly recommend them.

Sara was fantastic and provided a lot of info. The service providers who trimmed the trees did a great job and cleaned up after the work was completed. I will definitely contact SavATree again!

We have multiple trees on our property. They trim, treat, remove, and fully maintain all of the trees.

We've been very happy. We're new to them. It was based on a recommendation. They're doing some seeding of our trees, we have a lot of trees. They're taking care of our hemlock and algae. They do a treatment on it to prevent algae from attacking our Hemlock trees. It's a long story. It's complicated. They've done some trimming too for us as well. They have a certified arborist there. That's the key to this whole thing. They have a person who's a certified arborist. They're not just a tree cutting thing. They'll try to diagnose if the tree is dead or alive. They were highly recommended by friends. It's not just to cut a tree down; they really do try to keep the trees alive. I think they've done the tree seeding twice, in the fall and spring. Then, they've done the hemlock once. For the quality, the expertise of the people, this is a certified arborist. She's a young woman, and she's very, very good. She knows a lot. They were on time. We hope to stay on their schedule.

I'm a very busy person and they made the process quick easy. They were on time, cut down the tree, and cleaned up everything.

This is the second time we've had a good experience with SavaTree and we highly recommend them. Our neighbors, who are consummate gardeners, recommended them to us and we highly recommend them, too.

We live in an heavily wooded area. Every once in a while we get big branches come off and stuff like that. It wasn't for a lot of money. They are very responsive. There were two workers, but I can't really remember. The workers were always courteous and professional. The area was left very clean. They always care about trees. They have a full time arborists, at least one that I know of. Gives good advice, and takes care of the trees. They understand. I have an Oak tree that part is dying. Some people say to take it out. They said they come and treat it, periodically. Its in good shape.

All work was performed as agreed. The team did a great job removing the tree from the back yard. It was a Tree of Heaven, somewhere between 40-60 ft. tall and about 4-foot diameter at the base. Initially called SavATree about cleaning out dead wood, but upon assessment we found it had a hole near the roots and had also dropped a large branch that punctured my shed roof. I decided to have it taken out, as it was a large unstable tree next to my house. Turned out to be a good call, as the entire base of the tree was rotted save for a 6-inch ring of healthy wood around the perimeter that was holding up the entire weight of the tree! The removal team showed up on time on the scheduled day and made quick work of the removal and pruning. They cleaned up the area well and there was no damage to my property. Everyone was very courteous and professional, and I would do business with SavATree again in the future.

I gave broad requirments to remove all branches over the house. The company wrote fine details about branches minimizing the clearing of more branches than less. So, they were more interested in babying the trees in my lawn than listening to my requirement to clear all branches over my house forcing me to argue the case. I sign no contract written by a tree hugger tree removal company.

The provider did the minimum to meet the agreed upon service. The cost was effectively $200 per hour of work. The cleanup after the pruning was haphazard. The professional arborist kept on insisting that Emerald Green Arbivitea have a life span of only 10 years despite the fact that the trees I have in my yard have been living for 20 years+. Further the arborist shook one of the trees so violently that the tree is now almost dead -- thus proving the point that the trees have a short life span!

The pricing was pretty good. They came here to remove a tree and basically kind of at the end of it they were like, "Well, we can't actually remove the stump for a variety of reasons." So that kind of flopped it like not totally complete. They left the area in pretty good shape. They hauled it off.

Daniel, the arborist, arrived for scheduled estimate appointment right on time. Very personable and professional. He gave advice about health of trees, what was happening with a small mulberry and larger tree that were both growing well over the property line from a neighbor's rather abandoned yard. We live in a row house where things are close together. Dan advised what would look good for pruning - for health of the trees and for aesthetics. Just what I was looking for. He worked up the estimate right on site, which I accepted. While they are not the least expensive, I felt he was most knowledgable and trusted the work would be performed professionally. He gave us a slight discount since I was flexible on timing for the work. The job was relatively small as tree work goes (I know because I came from a huge yard full of 100 foot trees in Georgia, and each time one had to come down for any reason, it was a huge undertaking and expense). I paid a 50% deposit so they could schedule - which is normal and fair. Dan contacted me via email with the scheduled date - and gave a 2 hr arrival window. They sent a reminder before the date, and arrived slightly before the window, which was convenient. His crew was quick, proficient and cleaned everything up beautifully. They made sure I liked the results. Because we are a middle house in a row, with no back egress of our own, they had to take everything out through an easement across a neighbor's yard. They were very careful and considerate. They even tidied up some overgrowth in the front as they were leaving. I was very pleased with the service and the results. They will be my go-to team for future pruning/care/maintenance.

I arranged for a person to come out and look at my trees about a week before the appointment was scheduled the morning of 6/9/15. I repeated back to the person who answered the phone the time and location we had agreed upon. When I called to find out why the estimator had not come, they claimed to have no record of the appointment, even though I had the name of one of their estimators. Likely they will deny there was ever a phone call. However, I did call and did get a confirmed appointment. This is too bad because Sav a Tree seemed to have good ratings on Angies List.

Their service was great. They had to cancel the original appointment but then offered an alternative on short notice to make our schedule work. The work was done quickly and very cautiously. Great service!

It went well. They did the work when I wasn't at home and I believe they sent 2 people. They did a magnificent job cleaning up because there was no mess when I got home.

We pay on a subscription basis, but the pricing is very reasonable. They are excellent. We are very happy with them.

They were on time, they asked for my opinion on how I wanted it trimmed. They gave me their recommendations on how it should be done. They were very courteous and did a good job. They charged much less than the previous company that worked on the same tree.

I didn't have any problem with them. They did what they were supposed to do.

The actual work completed was fine, however after my initial contact with the company and getting a quote it took upwards of 6 weeks to get the work completed (after promising it would only take a week) and required me to call, email and contact them numerous times, during which I was frequently ignored and my calls were not returned. Three (or four? can't even remember) times they promised to show up and complete the work and were no shows, wasting my time, and my neighbors who had to move their car so they could perform the work. I consider this unprofessional and unacceptable, I realize our job was a small job and perhaps not worthy of their time - but then do not promise me you will do the work. After all this, I did not even get a discount on the services. I would never recommend them and never attempt to use their services again.
