SavATree - Maryland & Washington DC

My trees are looking good. The people that came out to give assessments and quotes were all very knowledgeable, professional, prompt and courteous. The workman know what they are doing, courteous and are very professional also. They were accommodating. I also used them for my lawn care and everything is good with that except for a certain kind of weed that they haven't been able to fully get rid of.

They randomly showed up at the billing address which has very little lawn, supposedly did something and left me a receipt charging full price! I bought the service for a different address, when I called to try and straighten things out they said I could buy another service for the other address... yeah right. I never saw any indication they actually did anything either; I couldn't make this claim had they bothered to schedule an appointment with me. Imagine what this review might look like had someone in their office actually bothered to make an appointment, really pathetic way to run a business.

They trimmed some trees for me. They were professional. They did a great job. I would use them again. They were on time and done well.

There were a number of wires that needed to be negotiated in the trimming of the pine and taking down the other trees and I was impressed with how methodical the crew was in making sure no wires were inadvertently damaged. They showed up on time, did their work in a very professional manner, and did a great job cleaning up before they left. I'd definitely use them again.

First rate company. Eric came out and talked me out of cutting down healthy trees close to my house that other companies would have been happy to take my money for. Great job! 100% will do business with them again if needed.

The team was comprised of experts. They arrived early and completed the work that day. They carefully removed each trunk section of the largest tree, cut it into smaller sections, and brought it by wheel barrow down the hill. No damage was done to the grass or any of the surrounding plants. And when I brought out a shovel to lift some sawdust into my compost bin, one of the men asked if I wanted all of it and when I said I did, he emptied into my compost bin. The type of work and quality of that work is reflected in the company's name. They will do everything to save a good tree, which is why they removed the wild cherry tree attached to the dogwood, pruned the dogwood and tulip poplar trees, and added a cable brace to the maple tree. However, if a tree is damaged and dangerous, they will remove it.

They did what they promised, explained thoroughly, were punctual, and very professional.

treatment seemed to have helped about half of them, maybe saved them in our drough like conditions. The follow through with emails and letting us know the process in advance could have been improved. They just showed up one day to do the work but the workers were good. The special deal didn't cover but just a few trees so it cost a lot more than I thought it would. May use again but this time I will have my eyes open.

Arrrived with work order for fertilizing only 1 tree even though original estimate was for 2 trees. Took 15 minutes too clear up work order for 2 trees with the office. After work order problem cleared up, work went smoothly, 2 trees were fertilized, and staff person was quite helpful.

Upon purchase of coupon, we were contacted by a sale representative that told us we needed a multiple visit service contract that would cost on the order of a thousand dollars. We told him that we would consider the offer. We did not sign the offered contract or schedule any additional work. Unscheduled and unrequested, the SaveTree service representative showed up at our house and proceeded to treat the entire lawn. (We we not at home at the time.) We were then invoiced for a several hundred dollar treatment, less the Angie's List coupon. We sent an email (and a paper copy via USPS) to SaveTree outlining the facts that we had not accepted their proposal, that they had no signed contract for service, that we have not scheduled the service and that we did not feel that we were responsible for their unscheduled and unrequested service visit. We also requested that they not provide any additional services and notified tham that we would not pay for any additional services. We received no response from SaveTree other than additional statements for the unpaid invoices. We finally received a letter stating that since we were late in paying the invoice, SaveTree was forced to suspend service. I attempted to call the Accounts Receivable magager who sent the "suspension" letter. She was not available to take my phone call and never returned my call. In July, we received another invoice for "soil testing" which we never requested. (We don't know if this work was performed or not.) Overall, we are very disappointed with SaveTree's attempted "up-selling" based on the Angie's List coupon, their delivery of service without a contract (verbal or written), and their lack of response to email, USPS, and telephone communications.

It went really well, and we really liked the end result. At first, the trees looked a bit stark (as they were cut back a fair bit) - but that changed once the leaves came in and that happened relatively shortly thereafter. We were told that we'd likely need this service performed again in three to five years. They also came back one time to do a little bit of (free) follow-up work and did so happily.

They were very responsive, on-time, informative and seemed to know what they were doing.

THey were great and even came back to discuss questions we had. They were more expessive but then several others but when we uesd a coupon through Angies List the price was right.

I recommend the company for their professionalism, punctuality and reliabilty!

I chose SavATree due to their great customer reviews. Since they also offered a $300 Angie's List member coupon, it reduced my final price from $957 to $657. Their manager, Kyle OfferdahlI, an ISA Certified Arborist, contacted me personally within a few days of the company's secretary calling me to set up an appointment. Due to my work schedule, I was unable to meet with Kyle personally; however, he still came over and provided me with a written estimate of the work and left it on the back door as requested. We corresponded via email a few times to discuss the cost, payment options available, and a date they would be available to begin work. They require 50% down to begin work, but Kyle accepted the online coupon as a deposit, which made it very convenient in between paydays. Due to the recent heavy storms in the DC Metro area, they were unable to begin work right away, which did not pose a problem anyway. When they did start the work, I just happened to be home that morning. The crew leader, Juan, introduced himself personally and we went to the backyard to look at the job. He asked me if I had any questions, comments, or concerns and made sure that he was familiar with the work-site and job to be performed. To my surprise and quite unexpectedly, Kyle showed up at the front door to introduce himself and to ask if I had any questions about the work. He explained to me what the team would do then made sure I was comfortable with the job. Kyle is a very polite, clean cut, professional Arborist and I was completely satisfied and impressed with the work he and his crew performed on the trees in the backyard and in the front. He and his crew did an excellent job in cutting down the dangerous, low-hanging branches that were in danger of falling through the roof of my shed. They cleaned up all cut branches, leaves, etc. and disposed of them in the wood shredder attached to their truck. They ensured safety was a factor as well by placing cones around their truck to alert drivers and passers-by. Unfortunately, I had assumed the low-hanging branches on the mulberry tree were going to be pruned as well, but they were not. An error on my part, not theirs, as I did not specify this in the contract. Kyle did, however, offer to drop by and remove the branches himself, but I told him not to worry about it. He and his crew did an excellent job as it was. I would personally recommend them to any customer in the DC-Metro/Maryland area that needs a professional tree service for their landscaping needs. So were std visits. Some were when I had lawn questions that required them to look at area of concern. At end of season my lawn was in very good shape They identified several trees with disease. They treated them and continue to do so.I do not know if there tree prices are expensive for what is provided. Never used a quality tree service before.

Smoothly but cost more than I anticipated.

I scheduled a no-cost visit from an arborist. The tree in my yard appeared to be dying but I wanted to save it if possible. The arborist said the tree was too far gone to save and that it was really a nuisance tree, rather than anything I would want to keep. I scheduled the removal after receiving a quote. The removal was a week after the initial consultation. All went as planned and the tree was removed in about 8 hours. All branches were taken down individually as the tree was in a very small and confined yard on Capitol Hill. Clean up was excellent and the work was done as specified.

I noticed that many of the limbs of my japanese red maple tree were dying and the bark was peeling, and I am so afraid that this 60 year old beautiful tree will have to go and will no longer be the focal point in the front of my house. I got a quote from Adam, who told me that the tree had a fungal infection. He suggested trimming the dead branches and spraying the three with a series of three treatments that would help get rid of the fungal infection. I was able to use a current deal they had for the tree trimming and another deal for tree fertilization to help the tree heal. When the team came out to trim the tree, I was so impressed. They climbed right up to the top of the tree and quickly and efficiently cut off the dead or dying limbs. They cleaned up the yard after, and my tree looked much better. The team came out once to fertilize the tree, and three times to apply the chemical spray. As far as if it worked - I think it is too early to say. I did notice that the day after each chemical treatment the leaves looked dried, crinkled, and almost burnt. I asked one of the technicians about it (because I was afraid it was hurting the tree more than helping) and he said that it wasn't from the chemical spray - but I am still not sure about that. The dead dried leaves appeared literally within 24 hours after each of the three times the spray was applied. Some of the leaves bounced back - but not all of them. I am also now seeing more bark peeling on limbs where bark had not peeled before. I hope I didn't spend this money just to have to spend more next year to take the tree down. But overall, the Company was very professional, and answered my questions more thoroughly than any other company I spoke with. If you are looking for tree service, I would definitely recommend that you call them for a quote.

I signed for the intial Angie's List tree service which did not include pruning.The tree company came to my house and give me an estimate of additional $350.00 for the pruning; and an estimated service date.I really like this company because I was out of town when this work was done; and they phoned me to let me know the service they performed. They were very courtesy and professional.They even allowed me the option of online payment.When I returned home they had performed all the work they explained to me on the phone.

They were very responsive and were able to do the work very quickly.
