SavATree - Maryland & Washington DC

They were very knowledgeable and professional. They talked us out of removing a mature oak tree...well, they are "SaveATree". They were prompt and professional and their price was the best of three bids we got for the work. I think they were able to beat other's prices because they are a large company with cherry pickers and equipment that makes it easier for them to remove difficult branches and trees. There was one problem, when a large branch they were removing fell on the edge of one of our natural stone steps. They brought a landscape company out to provide solutions and the issue was satisfactorily resolved. We would absolutely use them again and have no hesitation in recommending them.

Kyle was professional, punctual and informative in providing the estimate. He explored several ways of taking down these difficult-to-reach trees, including using a crane to hoist the trees over the house. The bid from SavATree was in line with some other bids we received but a fair amount higher than one other company. We chose to go with the lower-bid company which had excellent Angie's List reviews, as did SavATree.

Everything went well, they did good work.

Save A Tree is awesome - this is the second time we have used them for tree service and they are wonderful - take lots of time to explain what needs are, what they are doing and why - plus the give you the chance to say "no" . GREAT service!

I've used SavATree often and been pleased with their work but with this large job I thought I should get bids from other companies (since I've sometimes wondered whether I might not be overpaying). Quite apart from the impression the other arborists made, SavATree came in with a LOW bid, so I used them and will continue to do so.

The service done on the trees were fine. On the other hand, there was a stump that was supposed to be removed and that was done by another company/guy. He did not do a great job with that one in my front yard. Half of it was still sticking out the ground. I found the services expensive but the representative I dealt with was curteous, professional and responsive.

They arrived at their appointment time. There was a foreman and three others. They took down the trunk first. I think the foreman left a tthat point. They trimmed the hedges in a rough way (basically topped them off) and then proceeded around the house to check for branches that were touching. They did ask permission to trim a karge limb from a mature crape myrtle and I appreciated that. They were here for less than 2 hours. I thought the foreman should have stayed for the whole job and supervised the hedge trimming, which I ws not really satisfied with. Other wise they are a reliable and reasonably priced company.

Easy to setup a time for them to come out and they did the job punctually. When I had questions, they were very good about getting back to me with answers. The add is somewhat deceiving and it should state that the average cost for trimming of trees is over $1,000.

Save Tree was very professional in their work. They arrived on time, kept to the estimate, and when the job was completed they cleaned up all the cut limbs and loose debris. The largest tree was a cedar in front of the house which they climbed by throwing ropes over the limbs and wearing shoes that didn't damage the trunk of the tree. I was amazed how high they could climb since the tree is taller than a three story house. The company has an arborist who planned the project and provided the estimate. Based on their work, if we have any major storms, I don' expect to have any downed wires or broken limbs.

There arborist responed to phone calls, they came on time and did the work that they were supposed to do. They were courteous, they explained things, they really created a informed consumer out of me.

I responded to a special from Angie's list for "tree treatment; in a word their service was "unsatisfactory" -- they did not call or show up when I asked, so I don't know what they did. The took my signing of their serivce form as permission to proivde annual service. To their credit the fine print of the form does say they will continue to provide "tree service" unless specially asked to stop. I never knew what they did, there was no explanation beyond their drop-off brochure, and their billing deparmtent was unhelpful. What more can I say; I have no idea what they service is worth, I would never use them again. Ron Morgan

removed tree. but left property a mess thereafter. very disappointed given high ratings on angie's list. mess left on property included: deep rut marks left from machine. grass killed in rut marks. broken stones on walk. lots of dirt on street. email correspondence following service was rude. sav-a-tree offered to throw top soil and seed on the rut marks, which it looks like they've done, but no grass has grown there since. so they followed the letter but not the spirit of what they said they would do.

They did a good job with the tree pruning. I also used them later for lawn care.

Called for inspection of tree trunk damage. Company sent tree doctor. Examined it, said that cherry trees were subject to such bark deterioration and recommended root feeding. Scheduled the truck to come by and perform the service.

The job went smoothly and the work looks great. We had a significant amount of our cherry tree cut back but they did a great job shaping it and making it look good.

Overall, it went very well. I was very pleased with their work.

They did a fine job as far as we can tell, not being experts ourselves. But no trees or large branches have fallen on us so I'll give them credit.

Sara met with me in advance and we discussed all the trees on my property - what was recommended now and in the future. She was knowledgeable and friendly, and it was a positive meeting. The scheduling of the work ended up being on a day that I was out of town, so I did not personally witness the arrival, work, or completion of the job. However, when I did return I was very happy with the results.

Savatree was not the least expensive of the estimates but did not exceed the lowest bid by much, and you'll note below that they caught - and therefore bid - something that the others did not. The price was very fair for the amount of work they did and the professionalism they exhibited. They were definitely the best value. The arborer, Kyle, spent a good 30 minutes walking the lot looking at all the work (we had 3 bids - one spent about 15 minutes, the other about 5). He was the only one to alert us to a soon-to-be serious issue in the large tree that needed pruning - an issue that has been ignored by a previous tree service company. The work was done quickly and they cleaned up really well.
