Description of Work: We requested quotes from Closet Stretchers and another closet design company to design our new walk-in closet. We chose Closet Stretchers because of their simpler design and much lower price. They did not provide as many options as their competitor but they had everything we needed, including a mix of hanging space and drawers customized for his side and her side of the closet. The design consultant was very helpful and allowed us to make small modifications to the design after the contract was signed. The workers showed up on time and installed the closet quickly but with care. The closet looks great and the drawers open and close easily and quietly. We especially love the telescoping "valet rod" which we use often. We would highly recommend this company to anyone who wants a good quality closet for a reasonable price.

Description of Work: In our Master Bedroom, we have a large walk-in closet. My wife wanted to have an installer redesign her portion of the closet to provide more space for shoes, drawers, shelves, and a more optimal clothes hanging arrangement. WHAT WORKED WELL: We were all set to use a different closet installer and got an estimate from them (about $5000). After getting their estimate, just to compare prices, we decided to get an estimate from another installer. Fortunately, we remembered to check Angie's List's recommendations which led us to Closet Stretchers. Their account rep came to our house, asked what we wanted to do, surveyed our closet, and presented a plan. She was very competent. Her visit took about an hour and she left us with a sketch of her proposal. The first company's visit lasted three hours and although the person doing the estimate was very good and showed us a computer drawing of her proposal, she did not leave us with a plan (she said her company did not permit that). The CS account rep did not try to up-sell their products. Although her original estimate was for $1800, we decided to add some extras and go with a cherry wood instead of their basic wood (influenced in part from what we learned from the first company) which made the final price $3030. Closet Stretchers' ability to install the new closet was sooner than the other company's. The installers came on the promised date and time and installed the work quickly. WHAT WE DID NOT LIKE: We had horrible weather --snow/rain--the day the installers did the work and because they did not take off or cover their shoes, I had to put down drop cloths to protect our wood floors and light colored carpeting in our Master Bedroom. After their install, I checked their work. I found 5 dents (dings) in the wood shelves and frame they installed. The crew chief acknowledged all of them and promised to come back and replace each one. I would have thought the crew would have done this inspection themselves--not hope that we would ignore it or not raise it. They said they would return in a couple days. We did get a voice message in a couple days from CS office saying someone would "drop off the shelves." I called and told them I want them to do the install-- we shouldn't have to. This was done and the replacements are fine. OVERALL Comparing the quality of wood of the first company to CS, the first company's was better--higher end. However, the difference is just a visual one--not structural. The CS product is very good. Some drywall work had to be done by the CS installers. They patched and sanded but it is not paint-ready (we're fine with that.) I am glad we consulted another company because it broadened our knowledge of what could be done with a closet install. We would definitely use CS again.

Description of Work: They installed closet units to complete a previously purchased units that were being moved with a remodel. The sales rep was very skillful in helping me decide on what units I needed how the old units and new ones would work togetherand how to accomplish the look I wanted. It was more than I expected but just what I needed. There was a glitch in the measurements which delayed completing the installation on the scheduled day, but new units were quickly manufactured and installed. Considering this I would have given an A- but that not being possible I didn't believe I the rating should go down to a B. I am very happy with our new closet.

Description of Work: 3 large closets and one hall size closet. Systems in two large closet included a set of drawers. Systems in the other large closet and the hall closet were shelves and bars of differing heights. All systems are adjustable. All look good and work well

Description of Work: They installed a custom master closet in my new condo. The quality and construction are fantastic. It looks great and now I have so much extra space I don't know what to do with it... I see shopping in my future!

Description of Work: The Closet Stretchers installed two closets in our home. The installers were on time, courteous and finished the job within a very reasonble amount of time. They also cleaned up after themselves, which we greatly appreciated. Their design consultant, Ms. Morgan Wood, did a great job. We presented her with our problem and she created a solution for us. We are very pleased.

Description of Work: I had them come out to look at my very awkwardly shaped closet. Mike measured everything, asked me some questions and began sketching a possible plan. I liked it but I was worried about accessing some of my storage. He then proceeded to a second sketch which was exactly what I was looking for. They let me make two payments for the closet I should point out that the price includes a customized design and installation for a big but oddly shaped closet It blows my mind that people go to the Container Store or Home Depot and spend almost as much for non-custom materials and still have to go home and install it themselves. I shied away from custom closets for years because I was worried about price and because I thought I could find a solution at the store --- this experience has been an eye opener. I've had my closet for a year now and it has mas made life so much easier. If you are on the fence, go for it -- the cost of sanity is so worth it.
