 + -1 moreA man came out and found the leak and patched it up really quick. He did it all in forty-five minutes. I was very pleased with his work. It was reasonably priced. We have been using them for a number of years. I compared some other pricing. It wasn't even close, even by 100 dollars. They are very prompt and very efficient. I would recommend them and continue using them in the future.
Description of Work: They did a repair to a small segment of the roof that was leaking.

 + -1 moreI believe that I have addressed this issue in my remarks above. If you require a rating regarding my "overall" experience, it would be absolutely dismal.
Description of Work: A couple of weeks ago I decided to use Angieslist for the first time. Our home was experiencing minor water damage in the ceiling of the master bedroom where the wall adjoins the chimney. The first company we contacted was the aforementioned Central Roofing and Siding, as it was very highly rated in your listings. I spoke with a Mr. Greenberg and explained the matter to him; he said he would come by ASAP and review the matter and make a recommendation. It seems he came by the next morning while I was in the basement and he left his calling card. I called him and apologized for not having heard the doorbell, but he said it was unnecessary, as he only wanted to estimate the area of the roof. I asked why he was not interested in viewing the damage in our bedroom or going onto the roof to examine the source of the problem. He said instead that we probably needed a new roof, as it is almost 20 years old. I found this dismissive attitude surprising and worse. It seemed as if his only interest was in selling us a new roof, rather than working with us to determine the origin and extent of the damage that I had communicated to him. I questioned him about this and he relented somewhat and said he would send over a "mechanic" to review the matter. This never happened and I am totally disgusted with the attitude revealed by him and the company. I am left with the unmistakable impression that, unless a new roof is needed, the company has no interest in performing any repairs.  + -1 moreEric was very professional in his estimate, and even gave me a quote for encasing our asbestos siding as well (this we did not have done). We had several weeks of rain, unfortunately, so the start date got pushed back some and their receptionist was in the hospital, so customer correspondence was not at a top level. About a week after I received the quote the guys arrived to do the gutters. They were very professional and did a top-notch job on the gutters in about an hour. Some time later that week when I was at work, the roofers showed up and put on the roof. They were so efficient in the clean up it took me two days to realize that there was in fact a new roof on our porch. We've had several hard rainstorms since and have not had a leak in the flashing or from the gutters. They did a great job!
Description of Work: Central Roofing and Siding was one of 4 companies who gave us quotes on installing a new flat porch roof and gutters. Their estimation of the problem (needing a new rubber roof and gutters) was in line with 2 of the other 3 estimations, and their quote was about 1/3 less than other companies' quotes.

They worked very well with the painting company to not be in each others way. They forgot to give the discount and I asked them about it and without arguing he gave the $50.00 back to me.

 + -1 moreA company representative came to my home within a few days after I called for an estimate and performed a thorough evaluation of the existing roof. He didn't try to sell me anything beyond the basics, which I appreciated. I received a written estimate in the mail two or three days later, which was $2000 less expensive than the estimate I got from another well-regarded company for the same job. A week or so after I sent in my deposit, we got a call asking if they could come do the work on the following Saturday. They delivered materials a day or two in advance, and entirely completed the work in one day. The crew was courteous and efficient, and did a great job of cleaning up afterwards. I am very happy with the service, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Central Roofing & Siding.
Description of Work: Removed existing shingles, replaced damaged wood, installed attic vents, installed new roofing felt, flashing, and shingles for entire roof.

 + -1 moreI had a leak in the ceiling on the upper level of my home and requested an inspection of my roof. Someone came out a few days after my call. The repairman filled in holes in a few shingles and sealed around pipes. I was told that the mortar needed replacing in spots around my chimney, but that had nothing to do with the leak. Otherwise the roof looked fine, he told me. He advised me to call a masonry person to do the mortar work because he did not do that type of work. A few weeks later there was another hard rain and with it came new leaks in the same area of the ceiling. I called the repairman again. He said he found a shingle loose and repaired it (without cost), but he made it clear that another call would cost me. the next time it rained, there was a new leak. Since that time, I have been told by another repairman that the cracks around the chimney are the probable cause of the leaks

The work was completed in one day, on the original appointment date and looked great. They fulfilled all my requests for down spout routing and took great care to clean up the debris.

 + 1 moreI contacted company by email and got a quote. Quote was complete and I was pleased with the price. Windows were installed earlier than expected. Lorus and Frank arrived promptly each day and kept on schedule. The were especially informative about the job and answered all my questions however mundane! They cleaned up afterwards to the point of vacuuming the area! Frank went over every nook and cranny and then took time to show me the features and how to operate my new windows! I am extremely pleased with the way the job was done and how they went the extra mile to make sure I was happy with their work! My original contact, Mitch Greenberg followed up later to see if there were any problems. There were none!
Description of Work: Replaced old & worn wood windows and storm windows with energy efficient Simonton 9800 vinyl windows. Also re-framed patio door opening and installed two patio sliding doors.

 + 0 moreI called the office and asked for an estimate. I was told someone would come by and look at my home which they did (without me needing to be present). The roofing person came first, while I was away; the vent person came a couple weeks later while I happened to be home. The people I spoke with at Central Roofing & Siding were very friendly as was the person who repaired my vents. They did an excellent job. My only complaint is it took a while for them to get back to me after my initial request. I thought they had forgotten about me and I was about to call again when Central Roofing called and gave me a date for the roofer but not for the vents. Later I was told the vents would be completed the same week as the roof project. As it turned out, the person showed up the week after that to replace the vents.
Description of Work: There were two services. The first was to seal our two skylights one which had a small leak in it. Because there was a set price for being on the roof, it was also suggested that they check our roof and make sure the roof was in good shape. The second service was to replace 3 old air vents on the sides of our home. After a very windy storm one of the vents was damaged and needed repair. As the house is 25 years old, we replaced the other two vents as well.

He came and made a survey of what needed to be done. He attached all the loose siding and did general maintenance on my gutters. He did a fantastic job. He has put my mind at ease. He was very nice. I really appreciate the response I got from the company. I plan on doing business with them in the future.
Description of Work: I called yesterday because during the storm we had strong winds. Some siding came loose on the side of the house. I needed them to reattach it so it wouldn't come off. He told me that he would call me back later on.

 + 2 moreMitch came out and estimated the cost of replacing the old aluminum siding (including some old asbestos siding), all of the gutters and downspouts, and the windows in a side room. In the process, he had some wonderful suggestions that never would have occurred to me. The work started pretty much when promised, and it was clear even to my neighbors that the crew worked in a quick and professional manner. The siding foreman seemed particularly skilled and professional. The work was finished in about a week (a rainstorm or two slowed things up a bit), and frankly I was shocked at how clean my yard was at the end of each work day. The final cost was consistent with the original estimate, and I would definitely recommend this company to others.
Description of Work: All of the old aluminum siding was removed and replaced with vinyl siding. There was also some old asbestos siding that was removed as part of the job. In addition, all of the gutters and downspouts were replaced, as well as the windows in a side room. Further, there were some nice finishing touches such as the cladding of my porch posts in aluminum and the covering of a small wood porch soffit with a vinyl beaded soffit. (The carpenter bees will not be happy.) As far as I can tell, the exterior of my house is now virtually maintenance-free.

The quoted price was $295.00 which is their minimum. It seemed high for replacing a single piece of siding, but I've had trouble finding anyone to do repairs before, so I had it done. The work was done well, and quickly. They gave me a 5% discount for using Angie's List.
Description of Work: They replaced one piece of siding which had been blown down by a strong wind storm (and I had recovered), and secured loose pieces.

 + -1 moreCentral was very responsive when I called. Someone visited my townhouse and gave me a quote within 24 hours. Central staff called me and talked me though the estimate, which helped me understand how Central would replace the more unusual parts of the roof. The Central estimate was about 15% less than another well respected company that works in Montgomery County, and that appears on Angie's List. Once I signed the contract, Central called again to tell me when it would order the materials and when it was expected to do the work. When Central completed the roof, I received a call and was told exactly what was done and what I would have to pay. The Central manager was very polite and very helpful. I give this company an A+.
Description of Work: Central Roofing replaced the asphalt shingle roof on my townhouse. When Central estimated the job, I was told up front that I might have to replace some of the underlying plywood. The bid included the cost of the roof and separately the cost of plywood sheets, should they be necessary. Central, in fact, had to replace some of the underlying wood. Further, the job was a little more difficult than some others because the front of my roof is a mansard style. Central installed the shingles, drip sheets to prevent ice dams, and ventilation that allows the roof to breathe.
