We were very impressed with all phases of the work performed, and we would highly recommend them to anyone in the Washington DC metro area interested in a new roof, siding, trim, doors or windows. We selected them not only because they gave us the best price, but also we realized they were going to do a top-rate job based upon feedback we received from the references we contacted. We received proposals from three other contractors to do the work described. They chose to replace the roof first, followed (in order) by doors and windows, and finally siding, trim, rain gutters and downspouts. Central used subcontractors for the doors, windows, rain gutters and downspouts, but the roofing and siding work was performed by Central employees. While we were impressed with the quality workmanship of all phases of this project, we want to make special mention about the superb work done by the workman who did all the metal trim covering work. His attention to detail resulted in a superb finish on the house, viewed either close-up or from the curb. The overall quality of workmanship exceeded my expectations.

We checked a few top-rated companies from Angie's List and this company gave the best price. Communicated with them a lot over email which reduced the amount of time I needed to spend on the phone. Work was done in a timely manner.

They were good; they were on time, had reasonable prices, seemed pretty personable and they did a high quality of work so far as I can tell.

Based on reports published in Angie's List(AL) I invited four firms to review my needs and submit proposals. Among them two(Central Roofing and Siding Co.(Central) and DHI Construction Corp. visited the site and submitted proposals, W.E. Griffin said they had too much of a backlog, and Fletcher Roofing said they only do roof repairs. The proposals of Central and DHI Construction were almost identical except for the price. Given their experience and record of customer satisfaction, I selected Central since they offered a price advantage which I considered significant enough to award job to the former. The representative of Central(Terry Greenberg) explained his proposal in detail, spelled out possible options with regard to roofing material, the timing and phasing of the work etc. The day before the work was due to start all material was delivered to my house. Work started the following day and was completed on the second day. Upon completion of the work, all debris was cleaned up and hauled away, and the space around the house was cleaned and swept using a magnetic roller. The crew worked non-stop for two days and did a neat job. Terry Greenberg visited the site during the installation to review the work which was accomplished smoothly. After the crew left I noticed that a section of the gutter/downspout which had been removed to facilitate the installation of the roof had not been replaced. I called Central and they promptly sent someone to put the section back in place. During the entire process I was impressed by the professionalism, courtesy and responsiveness of Central and of Terry Greenberg in particular. He was straightforward and businesslike without any hard sell or showmanship. Central also provided me with an estimate for replacing the gutters, but I decided to get it done at a later stage. When I wish to proceed with this task I shall certainly call on Central.

Terry from Central Roofing & Siding was great. He was one of the few roofers I spoke with who tried to accommodate my preferences when giving me a quote. For example, he assessed the roof when I wasn't home and then emailed the information to me, saving me about two hours (plus, who doesn't use email these days?). He never tried to up sell me on anything, and he told me what I shouldn't spend money on (e.g., I shouldn't pay for ridge vents, because the geometry of my roof will limit their effectiveness). I inquired about shingles with longer warranties, and he was very thorough in explaining the advantages. And, they didn't even have to replace the wood on my roof, even with me telling him beforehand that I'm pretty sure some of the wood on my roof would need replacing. He told me that it was actually in pretty good shape (this also saved me money). Central Roofing & Siding came in $1600 below the highest bid and $600 below the most competitive bid, and Terry was, by far, the most professional of all the reps I spoke with. They finished my roof in less than a day and left no mess at all. I highly recommend these guys.

Things went well and efficiently, promptly, competently and cost effectively. The only complaint was we requested two fans and only received one. He thought we only needed one and just brought one.

They came out and gave us an estimate, and back out and did the work that they promised to do. They were prompt, efficient, and cleaned up completely afterwords. The tore off the old shingles and flashing and replaced it all new for us. I would definitely use them again. Ever since they came and replaced everything for us, we haven't had any water inside our house. They did a great job.

I called the company for a quote regarding some work I wanted done on the facade of my house and I was told that I would be called back later that day to talk to one of their workers. I never received a phone call and when I called them back the next day to see if I could again speak with someone I was transferred to a person who point blank told me "we don't do work on flat roofs". I explained to this person that the roof was not involved in the repair, but this ignorant man kept on insisting that he knew what he was talking about. He was rude, unresponsive, and unprofessional.

Companies that do flat roofs are hard to find where I live, but the workmanship was great and the representative they sent out, Eric, was very friendly and punctual. They did back up a truck and took out a chuck of my garage, I did have a little trouble with the owners but they made everything right and agreed to send out a crew to fix the problem and they agreed to pay.

They were reasonably priced and honest. I had a leak and they came out and were very fair. They came the very next day and were punctual. I would recommend this company to anyone.

I was really pleased with the responsiveness of the company when we were making our decision whether or not to go ahead with the work. The employee who provided the estimate answered all of our questions in detail. Another employee handled our follow-up questions on the phone. The estimates for price and duration of the work were right on. On the down side, the clean up of debris was not as thorough as I had hoped; over the next two weeks, we found the occasional nail in the yard. (Perhaps I am overly sensitive as I have a toddler running around.) Also, communication with the employee who actually installed the ridge vent was difficult.

When I first contacted the company about getting an estimate, Mitch Greenberg, the VP, came to my home and we walked around the house as I pointed out what I thought would be needed. He was extremely informative about ways to make the improvements. In answer to my questions, he emailed links to websites where I could look at the materials before making my decision. He also gave me samples that I studied and answered questions about color combinations. He gave optional estimates, which was very helpful because I wanted to compare possible choices. The company's estimate was favorable to another's, although I relied most heavily on the many positive recommendations for this company listed on Angie's List. The installation, repairs, and replacement went very smoothly. I was at work during much of their time, and I could see huge results each day. The entire job took approximately 5 or 6 days once the crew began working (when the materials ordered arrived, and when the rainy days mostly ended). They left the materials needed in a convenient way so that our cars could get in and out. Mr. Greenberg came to the house to check on progress, and also answered questions I had about the finished work. I was totally satisfied with the work, and it has improved both the appearance and the sturdiness of my house.

I pulled them off the list. They were on time. They cleaned up everything. They did an excellent job. The price was perfect.

It was a fantastic experience. They were punctual, never early and never late, which was important to us because mornings are a bit crazy for us. From the very beginning, I knew they would be different because the "sales job" on the windows was very low key. They clearly just want to do a good job and have fair prices. The guys installing the windows were extremely nice and actually fun to talk to. It took a couple days to do the job, and it's fabulous, no regrets, which is important when you spend this kind of money. We will be going with this company for our new roof as well.

I only required a small repair and called for an estimate. After taking down my information I was informed that an estimate for a repair is considered a service call and the $50 I would be charged would go toward the cost of the repair. Since their website says free estimates, I said I was hesitant to go ahead with the visit. I was told that if I was going to ask a guy to risk his life to inspect my roof at least I could pay $50. Not appreciating his tone, I said that if a roofer is risking his life every time he gets up on a roof he's in the wrong profession. The rep asked what I did for a living and told me shortly thereafter that I could go with another company, which is what I will be doing. Other members' reports suggest that these guys do solid work, which I assume is the case. There was no need, however, for this guy to get indignant when all I was doing was wondering aloud whether it was worth paying for an estimate the website says is free. It left me wondering how customers who only want small jobs are treated and in what spirit any disputes will be resolved, should they occur.

They were very friendly, and they had good customer service. They came when they said they would come. They were respectful about being around our home, they cleaned up pretty well.

They were very professional. They showed up on time to do the work. They did the work very quickly. They were very courteous when they were there. They cleaned up everything when they were done.

During the recent rains we started to get water leaks in the basement and living room. We called several roofing companies thinking the roof needed to be replaced as it had been damaged in Hurricane Isabel and by a tall truck snagging the utility lines and damaging a corner of the roof (we had the roof repaired both times). Terry from Central Roofing was extremely efficient and communicative. He contacted us almost immediately and did an estimate. The estimate to replace the roof was very good and we were sent a written estimate with samples in the mail. Terry then called to go over any concerns and details in the estimate. We asked if the roof could be inspected before proceeding and arrangements were made for Eric to come by at 9:00am one morning. Eric called at 7:30am the morning of the appointment and asked if he could come earlier as he was in the area (this worked for us). He arrived by 7:40am and inspected the roof. Eric did find the roof in good condition but the flashing around the chimney needed to be repaired and one tile needed to be replaced. He was efficient, communicative and was finished by 8:00am. We have had no leaks since. WE would definitely recommend this company to anyone.

They were terrific to work with. The work was done in a timely manner. The work performed was professionally done with high quality products. Mitch gave enough attention to get work done. I found their prices to be competitive with others.

Overall, their work was well done. We did have some problems with damage to two solar hot water pipes, but they did repair the pipes and promised to pay if their repairs were not satisfactory to our solar contractor. The gutter "team" went above and beyond what we were told to expect. The one negative comment I have is that they didn't communicate several times when they were coming out, so we were not prepared for them. They did apologize and said they thought someone had called to inform us.

Overall it went well. They had to come back once that the gutters didn't drain correctly but they ended up fixing it. They were very punctual and on time.

I called Central Roofing on June 17th after having a stressed out Monday of having other roofing companies come out and pitch their company and roofing system. One presenter stayed for almost 3 HOURS! Anyway, I felt like I was in a marketing nightmare, didn't like the pressure, and especially was not too fond of the prices I was quoted. So I found Central on Angie's List and called, and Mitch came out the same day! He gave me a no hassle quote, was polite and kind and let me know at that time there might be a problem with the skylights on the patio, but they could get a better look once the old roof was off. I called the next morning and accepted. Mitch provided ongoing follow up and wonderful communication about the events to follow. He let me know when the supplies would be delivered (Tuesday 6/24), when the roofers would arrive (Thursday 6/26) and even ongoing follow up about the status of the skylights (yes they were in extremely poor condition and needed to be replaced-wanting to see for myself; I was able to climb up on the ladder to take a look). They replaced the skylights and the entire roofing system in the same day! I followed their progress throughout the day and took some pictures as well. They finished the job and cleaned the entire area and I was about to go outside to thank Julio and the crew for the wonderful job that they did but they had already packed up and left, not a trace of a roofing nail, shred of roofing paper or piece of old shingle to be found! We had a heavy rain the next evening and everything was safe and dry! I received a follow up call from Mitch after the completion of the project and he gave me a verbal total on the bill since the skylights were an add-on; although I had already been informed of their price at the time I accepted; he also let me know the final number of plywood sheets that they had to use. I just want to say that initially I was quite nervous about having my roof replaced and those OTHER companies love to wreak havoc and plant fear into the average consumer; but this company and the guys that worked SO diligently to complete the job was such a relief. I would most definitely use their services again, and would recommend their services to anyone interested. Thanks Mitch, Julio and the crew for all that you did! I love my new roof!
