Workmen were punctual, but when they couldn't get a hold of me at installation time, they broke into the locked patio gate rather than using the front of the house. Debris was strewn from the roof into the backyard herb garden, though they covered the part of the yard that didn't include a garden. They also had agreed to send pictures of the completed roof, but somehow were only able to send one picture, after I asked repeatedly.
Description of Work: Replace flat composite roof with TPO system.

+ 0 moreI took a picture of the problem area, emailed it to the company's address and within a day got a reply from them stating that their siding foreman will be over as soon as the snow melted a bit (we had had a big snow storm then) and he would give an estimate of the cost to repair. Well, it happened just like that - I got an estimate and they said they would send their crew within a few days.They did just that and my roof was repaired without any hassle or any stress. I did not have to take time off from work and they left the place clean without any debris. I would recommend this outfit to anyone looking for repair to siding or any other external problems around the house.

+ 0 moreEverything went well. The estimator/company rep was professional, courteous, and responsive to our questions. Whenever we had a question, he would get back to us promptly. He explained everything clearly. I especially appreciate that there was no high pressure salesmanship involved. On the day the roofing work was scheduled to be done, the company rep came by the house to check on everything to make certain that the job was being done correctly. Because of the weather, the work had to be completed in two phases. They did the roof in one day; they left the old gutters in place until they could return to install the new gutters. I think it was about two weeks later when they came back to install the new gutters. We had no problems or issues with the company. The workmanship looks great and so far is holding up well. I would recommend them to anyone needing a new roof and gutters.
Description of Work: Replaced the roof and replaced the gutters/downspouts; also installed gutter protection to help keep leaves out.

+ -1 moreI scheduled an appointment for a bid with an Exteior Remodeling Specialist by the name of Eric Kibler around April. Eric was very professional and knowledagble about roofing. He answered all of my questions. He was able to write up a bid right on the spot. I told Eric that I would like to get three more quotes. He said ok. Central Roofing was the only roofing company that provided a quote that my insurance provided. I did additional research on Central Roofing and the reviews were good. I was referred to Central Roofing from my gym friend. I chose Central Roofing because they have been in business since 1956 and Eric didn't try to quote me a very high price. I got only one quote that was close to my insurance quote and Central Roofing's bid was still $400.00 cheaper. One roofing company said, you will never be able to get a new roof less than $4700 for a townhouse. Yeah right.

+ -1 moreDISAPPOINTING! Lack of responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism. We made an appointment almost a month in advance to have a small leak repaired in our roof. The contractor was a no-show on the day of the appointment. When we called to ask if they were coming, they indicated that they were aware of the appointment but just had not made an effort to call us to cancel. They offered to reschedule 2 days later. We did so and they are a no-show again. Especially inconsiderate as we explained to the company that someone in our family is recovering from a serious health condition and we were having to make special trips to meet them at the site of the repair. They should have just been upfront and told us they did not need our business.
Description of Work: Contractor was supposed to fix a leak in the roof.

+ 0 moreI can't say enough good things about this company. I've had awful experiences with incompetent or indifferent contractors and dreaded the ordeal of replacing my roof. But these guys were great. They came well-recommended on Angie's List, Washington Checkbook, and neighborhood rating services and listserves, but so did several other companies. I solicited three companies' estimates. The other two companies fell short in various ways. The Central Roofing estimator showed up when he promised, with samples and a full explanation and patiently discussed all the alternatives, answered all my many questions, provided proof of insurance and license, gave a lower estimate than the others, and did not demand a downpayment before beginning work. The roofers came on time, put in 1.5 long days of work, and cleaned up thoroughly. And I assume they did a good job; after the heavy rains and wind of the past few days the roof shows no sign of problems. I also contracted with them to replace four large windows. Again the experience was wholly positive, the price was reasonable, the window guys worked long hours without complaint and cleaned up thoroughly. And the man who did the caulking is a true artist who worked slowly and carefully to make sure everything looked perfect. My only regret right now is that Central Roofing does not renovate bathrooms.

They also did measurements in order to provide me with an estimate on new gutters and a new roof. They were at the house for about 1.5 hours. Overall a pretty good deal.

The estimate was very reasonable and the work performed is outstanding. it was completed within a few days of signing the contract. The workers cleaned up and no one would have even known that there was work performed if it weren't for the gleaming new gutters. OUTSTANDING!

+ 2 moreThe estimate was completed very quickly after my initial request. The project manager was extremely patient with all of my questions and didn't push me at all. They were not pushy or trying to upsell me at all. I felt very comfortable with the explanation I received as well as the quote. I had 4 companies come out in total and Central Roofing and Siding was the lowest price. Another company offered to match their price but couldn't get it down to the rate with the Angie's List coupon. I was extremely satisfied with the installation and the clean-up after the install. They even painted my exhaust pipes to match the color of the roof and chimney flashing so everything blended. It looks great and I have a lifetime warranty, love it!
Description of Work: The entire roof (approximately 1700 sqft) was replaced including all of the plywood on the roof with Landmark architectural shingles.

He checked the shingles and took pictures of the chimney & where it needed fixed. That was very helpful. He also repaired an issue on the roof as well. He spent a little time with me, which was very helpful. I didn't get the feeling that he was marking time just so he could leave.

+ -1 moreReferral from Angie's list. Not many people willing to replace an old attic fan. Made arrangements via website and then email. Very responsive and flexible with scheduling. Only one issue when they couldn't come due to weather condidtions but didn't call to tell me that. In the end it was understandable since there was snow (which made it inappropriate to do install then) plus their office was closed for the day (although mine was not). Once reschedule everything went according to plan. timely, neat, very helpful installer who went beyond his assignment to help me with something in the attic. Very pleased with the company and the work.

Technican called after completion and gave me a complete description of worked performed and an estimate on the life of the roof. Work completed was obvious and well done when I inspected the roof.

+ 1 moreYou got all the details. The installation crew arrived at 7:15 AM and they worked through the day. By about 2:00 PM they were removing skylights, and the new skylights were installed before dark. On Saturday the foreman returned and checked out the roof to make sure everything was as he wanted it to be. I will have another crew here on Monday, to make sure that the driveway, yard and the public street a clean and free of debris. Later that day I will have a final walk through with Mr. Greenberg, and then I will make my final payment. I added a gutter replace task to this contract and that should be handled on Monday as well. What more do you want me to say. This has been such a pleasant experience. I even had the confidence to go to dinner and at show at 5:00 PM, and leave the crew to finish the job. My trust was rewarded and then some. Without sounding like I am reciting the boyscout credo, I don't know what else to tell you. I am completely convinced that every dollar I spent was worth it. Good dollar for value here. Call me if you are looking for something else.
Description of Work: I had Central Roofing replace all of my roofing and 8 skylights. With so many storms this year, and such a wide variation in temperatures, I knew that the skylights were leaking both water and warm air from my home. The old roof was raged and had seen better days. I spent several months interviewing roofing companies. But Central Roofing came to me as the "can do" company. One member of Central Roofing told me, that he would be there no matter what the weather to help me should I ever need the help. Wow? I was so impressed by the crews that came to do this work. They were fast, and efficient. I have never had an old roof removed with nothing to clean-up after. This company took extra care to make sure that my overdeveloped landscape was protected as well. The members of the installation crew were so nice and polite. That made this event even more fun and pleasant. I was especially happy with my ability to reach the Terry Greenberg (owner) at every stage of the development of this contract. And during the installation phase, he was equally easy to reach when I had further questions. I have the equivalent of three roofs, and all this work got done in one day! That included the removal of all existing roofing, the installation of the new, and the installation of 8 huge skylights. I was just amazed and how lovely the new roof looks. My roof looks gorgeous. Everything shingle is in perfect alignment with each other. The weird angles and bends are just amazingly smooth and even. I am so glad I chose to have Central Roofing do this job. I know I have made the right choice.
