I emailed them a picture showing the problem and they sent a technician within a few days who, through some misunderstanding, also repaired the problem without my authorization. I was not at home at this event. I was not completely satisfied with the repair and called the company to discuss the matter. They said they would send the technician again but I would have to be home to explain to him what the matter was so that there would not be any further misunderstanding. Well, we met again and I described what I had in mind. He said he would go back to the office and order the parts needed for the job. He estimated it would take about a week and I did not have to be home for that. Within a week he was back and did a great repair job. I met him just as he was wrapping up and was just about to leave. I am really pleased with this outfit, especially their professionalism and quality of work. This is the second time I have used their service and each time they have responded satisfactorily. They may not be the cheapest around but they certainly come through, especially for small jobs that others may not be interested in.

My ratings for responsiveness and professionalism are based on who I dealt with trying to get the job done. Updated: I was recently contacted by one of the owners of Central Roofing to address all the problems I had with work done on my property. I'm sure had I contacted him during the process or written the review sooner things may have turned out better. I haven't had any issues with my roof and pray that I don't. If by chance something does happen I hope that he will stand behind his word and the company.

I had a flat roof replaced that was 30 years old. I received several estimates and decided to go with Certified Roofing. James the salesperson was extremely helpful with explaining my options. The day of the project the crew lead by Jose arrived on time and was extremely professional. During the tear down of the roof one of my solar lights was broken. I bought this Jose attention and when he returned the next day, he explained that he could not find one like the one that was broken. So he replaced all three. James followed up with a phone call explaining the condition of the roof and the repairs that were needed. I guess I will have to wait until it rains to see if the roof holds up,But so far I'm pleased. Thanks Jodi for all of your help!

I asked for an estimate to fix/replace our shingled roof. A technician came out on February 23 to look at the roof. I followed up on March 1 to ask about the status of the estimate and never received a call back. I decided to go with another roofer who provided me with a timely estimate.

FIVE STARS In 2012, Central Roofing completely replaced the roof on our 130-year-old Dupont rowhouse. This entailed removing the previous rubber membrane, the metal roofing, repairing and/or replacing the wood decking, installing two inches of highly efficient hard foam insullation, installing the tightest white rubber membrane you can imagine, replacing two skylights, coordinating with my HVAC contractor to install two new heat-pump units, and coordinating with DirecTV to temporarily remove and re-install the Dish. The work was done quickly and efficiently. The results have been nothing short of amazing. The upstairs bedrooms that perennially became 10 to 15 degrees warmer than the downstairs rooms in the summer now stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Unfortunately, in late 2015, we noticed the spider-like cracks over the entire skylight. Terry Greenberg sent a technician out. Their assessment was that--while not technically under warranty--something was clearly wrong. Terry subsequently replaced the skylight as though it were fully under warranty... not material or labor cost. It's so seldom to find a contractor these days to do quality work. It's even more rare to find one who stands behind the work. Kudos to Central Roofing.

I emailed them a note requesting that they give an estimate to re-attach my gutter which had fallen off during a snowstorm. I included a picture of the house where the gutter had fallen off. I mentioned that three of my neighbors were seeking estimates for the same problem. I included the address (Northwest DC) and followed up the email with a voice message to the same affect, minus the picture. I received a call back and and email scheduling the estimate. The estimator never even got out of his truck, he called me from the street to inform me that he couldn't find a place to park, that he can't help me because his truck is too big to park in DC, they don't do work in DC (then why did they schedule the appointment?), that he didn't want the owner to get upset with him for scheduling a repair in a location where it might be difficult to partk (he didn't give me the chance to explain that there's parking in the back), he also they don't really do gutter repair and especially not in the District, despite the description on their Angie's List posting which reads, "Gutter replacement, siding, painting-exterior, roofing, insulation, skylights, windows & doors. Please note that we do not offer gutter repair services." Huge waste of time.

Mr. Walt arrived on time and explained the details of the repair and what he was going to use to do the repair. He inspected the roof and replaced the flashing.

They were pretty good. I think they did everything good. The supervisor that was supposed to be here when they did the job was not here. Not all the people spoke English, in fact nobody spoke English that was here. Outside of that they did come back and fix what they were supposed to. When it was time to do the job they did not have a manager here. If I used them again in the future I would have a tighter contract.

Mr Walter of Central arrived at 2pm and was done by 3pm. He checked the roof repaired some loose shingles, vent collars and etc.

Took down old gutters which were full of debris amd put up new ones. Answered questions about gutter installation and fascia board in layman's terms. This is an 'old school' company that gives you quality work at a very fair price with satisfaction guaranteed.

They were forced to reschedule a couple of times due to icy winter weather (which was okay by me; I didn't want them risking life and limb on my icy roof!), but when the weather cooperated, they came out, carefully inspected the roof, and pinpointed that the leaking we'd seen was because of the ridge poles being badly in need of being replaced. The gentleman who replaced the ridge poles showed us the old ones, and they were indeed pretty much shot. All is well, now, and we have no more leaking!

A little better job of repairing trusses that need to be repaired.

Beautifully. They had a new project manager and he was great. They got it finished in a timely manner and it was a complicated roofline. They were the second lowest bid we got out of four. They did an excellent clean up job and even called back to make sure we were happy.

Eric was plezant and knowledgeable. He provided ideas about how to save money yet improve attic insulation and advised well with regard to roof color. Basically, I was very happy with the service, work quality, speed, neatness, and cost/ Thanks Central Roofing!

This went perfectly, just like the complete roof and sheathing replacement they did for us last August. Terry Greenberg and his team run a great operation with top-notch crew. Braulio who did our gutters yesterday (with an assistant) was amazing. They got the old gutters and downspouts off, cleaned the dirty areas of the house that had been covered by the old gutters, and almost effortlessly installed the new gutters. I think the whole job took around 2 hours, and they did it in 90-degree heat with no complaints and no signs of slowing down. And they were courteous and thorough; they also took time to clean any debris from the yard and side of the house.

Walt was very helpful and professional. The work was performed to our expectations but I will have to wait for a couple of wind driven rains to confirm that the leak has been fixed.

Overall, I was pleased but some things could have been improved. The sales pitch was straight forward and not very pushy at all, which was important to me. The price for 3d shingle and two layer tear off was very good in comparison to others (I spoke with 5 different companies) and they were able to accommodate me in the time frame I was looking for. The roof looks great so far and no major issues. When the crew came to my house I was told they would finish the work before the end of the afternoon. They ended up staying until the early evening and therefore I was not pleased with the cleanup. I asked someone to come back to do additional clean up and someone came within two days. I also asked my gutters to be re-attached, but it is not apparent that this was done. I have a photo of my gutter with a gap between it and the side of the house. One of my larger issues has been with communications. Usually one e-mail or one phone call is not enough. I needed to be persistent to get responses. For example, I had an e-mail go unanswered for 8 days recently. On one occasion I spoke with an older gentleman who was extremely rude to me and basically hung up on me because he said he was "very busy." I was merely trying to get a hold of the sales associate to confirm the timing of the work to be done. If I had spoke with this individual earlier, I would have not worked this company. That being said, most everyone else I dealt with at Central was courteous over the phone and in person, once I was able to get a hold of the people I wanted to talk to.

We could not be happier with Central Roofing - everything from the estimate to clean-up was smooth and seamless. Matt Kline was responsive and accommodating. We have recommended Central Roofing to our neighbors and he has gotten at least 3 other jobs in our small neighborhood because his estimate was the best value.

Worked out pretty well, and Walt was very attentive. He also noted that I was the victim of another sloppy contractor install job by Richmond American Homes. The shingles were not installed properly which is why I lost a nice chunk of them just before the big rain a few weeks ago.

This is the second time I hired Central Roofing as they did an excellent job replacing the siding on the back of my house and installing a sliding glass door and box window. I was having trouble finding a reputable company to replace my windows, until I came across an electronic Christmas card from Central and saw they also installed windows. I live abroad, but Terry Greenberg responded quickly, was willing to install less than all windows at my house, and coordinated the measurement and installation with my tenant. I have a person on staff to manage my high-end home and he was present when he windows were installed. He was so impressed by the quality of the work, cleanliness, and efficiency that he took their name and number to use for other luxury homes that he manages. I am in the US, so I was able to inspect the work the next day and was thrilled with how Terry and his team selected the exact color for the window frames. I also appreciated that he gave me honest advice by suggesting that I did not need the most expensive window. They are a great outfit. I will continue to use them. They make it so easy for me to maintain my house form a distance.

They did a really good job replacing all the gutters and downspouts for my single-family house. The crew consisted of 2 people who worked fast and efficiently ? they were done in 2.5 hours, including the clean-up time. They were very careful and didn?t damage my flowerbeds under the gutters and they cleaned up well after themselves. The new gutters work great. The price was good too. I would definitely recommend these guys.

Walter showed up about 15 minutes early - great start! He inspected our roof and replaced shingles that were damaged by tree limbs hitting the roof. He showed me the damage on this camera and completed the work very quickly. The price was their minimum service charge for roof repair, so it was probably a little high for just replacing those few shingles. However the service and professionalism was terrific. I know who I'm calling when we need a new roof.

I have sent numerous emails trying to get an estimate for siding work after they said they looked at the house but i have yet to hear back. Disapopointing and frustrating.

The experience was fine, while they did come by and looked over the roof, they did not go up into the attic. The estimate was low, considering the state that our roof is in, but there was no high pressure sales spiel, which we appreciated. While we opted to go with a different company they were on-time for the appointment and were professional.
