Beltway Movers and Storage

The driver arrived with four others and two drunks.We started with a walk-through of the house to get clear on what needs to go, what doesn't go, and what might need special care. The crew worked from 8am until about 12:30pm, when both trucks were loaded. We agreed we'd meet at the new location after a lunch stop, and met up at about 2pm in Upper Marlboro. After another walk-through, the crew unloaded everything and gave us an opportunity to ask for things to be moved/adjusted before they left. Everything was great. The grew was courtesy, friendly, respectful in every way. Alex was the lead, and he did a marvelous job coordinating the move and working with his crew.

Our son and we both used their services. They have provided us excellent services for both large moves. They were wonderful with packing, moving, and staying very close to the estimate. We are very happy with their services. I would recommend them and use them again in the future.

Other movers gave me vague quotes or wanted me to take time off work so they could do a "walk through", just to get any kind of estimate, or they didn't return my calls. Finding Beltway Movers (off a recommendation from a friend) and speaking with Robin was just what I needed in the midst of all the chaos of buying, selling and moving. I called Angie's List to check it out and found they had great reviews in Washington D.C., just not up by me (Howard and Carroll Counties). Beltway's website is full of great information and tips on how to help them save you money. Everything is spelled out and up-front, which I appreciated. They worked with our odd situation and found a great solution. Robin even suggested sending out a smaller extra truck "just in case" at no charge unless we needed it. That was crucial, because we did need it and it was great to have that option. As far as cost, yes, they cost more. But the other movers I talked to just gave me an hourly rate or it was based on my stuff. They weren't as well organized and couldn't tell me how many people would come out, how they would pack the truck, etc. I've done dozens of moves from apartments with my friends and a rented u-haul and those are always awful. My friends and I are all well into our 30's and we're just a bit old for "can you help me move?". I quickly learned that professional movers are expensive and many of them didn't seem very professional on the phone or on their websites. Once I saw a picture of Beltway's double layer truck, I was sold. How genius to build a giant shelf so that you can double stack mattresses and furniture and really maximize all the space. The truck had a crate section for breakables and things that might rattle around. The workers were unbelievably professional. They came (on the hottest day of this year, temps over 100 degrees in Maryland!!). They worked hard and steadily and got everything loaded quickly and efficiently. They had a special carpet they rolled out from the truck up inside the house to protect the floors on all the main walkways - no leaves or dirt tracked in or out! The men all joked with each other and worked together well, but were never off color or unprofessional in any way. They rotated water breaks, but didn't slack off at all. The team that came to unload was most of the same guys. Again, it was ridiculously hot, but they did a great job. They re-assembled the bed, the couch and some other large items. They even helped me arrange some of the furniture in the new house. And somehow through all that, they came in under the estimate of $2,173! Beltway exceed my expectations in every way possible and helped me actually enjoy my move and getting settled in my new house!

I called multiple different moving companies and Beltway gave me the best price quote which they guaranteed. The service on the phone I initially received was also very helpful and complete as we discussed all the items that would need to be moved. The moving company was 15 minutes late, but they called ahead of time to alert me of this. They moved all our furniture quickly and efficently; taking less time then originally estimated. The cost was even under that quoted. I was satisfied with their service and would recommend them.

Everything turned out perfectly with this company. I was referred to this company by a friend. I liked how they recycled the boxes and gave me a credit for that. I would recommend this company to anyone and would use them again.

It went great. It was two guys. They were extremelly helpful and got job done in 5.5 hours.

They are highly trained through 6 weeks of training. They are professional. They come and do their job and leave. Things are in good condition when they are finished. The office staff is very help.

They provided a detailed and reasonable quote. The movers were on time and courteous. The move went well and smooth.

Excellent experience! Moving is always stressful, but the 3 guys from Beltway were helpful, considerate, and really did their best to do a good job for me. Nothing was broken or damaged. The move took longer than estimated but there were no complaints from the movers. They worked hard without breaks. The office staff was responsive and easy to work with. A coupon from Angie's list was applied. I was very impressed with this company. While not the cheapest, the quality was well worth the money. I had a grandfather clock and some expensive furniture moved from an apartment to a house about 5 miles away and everything came through fine. I have had experience with moving companies in the past that were less than good. These 3 guys from Beltway were great!! I will absolutely use this company again in the future. I would rate them with 5 stars!

I am very happy with the moving services provided by this company. The final cost was $100 higher than the original estimate. The moving team assigned to the job where very professional and respectul. The showed experience in moving services, they had the adequate tools and supplies. They arrived earlier than the scheduled start time. They did a fantastic packing job - all my china and glassware arrived safely. They were very careful with dismantling furniture pieces and re-assembling. When one of the movers fell sick they send a replacement in a short time. Overall I am very satisfied with the moving services provided by Beltway Movers.

Beltway provided storage and moving services exactly as promised. None of our belongings were damaged, and they , were always courteous, punctual and professional. Both moving teams were exemplary. I would use them again and I recommend them unconditionally. They were easy to contact and made a stressful situation less so.

I spent about $2000 on that service. My experience with them was okay. They left some other things that they should have taken. They ripped the keyboard draw off the desk and I had to reinstall it. They also messed up a little bit with the headboard; apart from that I think everything was intact. They showed up on time and may have been a little bit late. They were polite and everything and real efficient. They went out of their way to move a couch that could not fit through the door, so they removed the doors, took the couch out and fixed the doors back and I thought that was nice.

I found that our grill doesn?t work now after they moved. We needed extra boxes and they said that they would give us some more boxes at no extra charge, but they did charge us. I am not happy about that. I would probably not recommend them. You have to pay much attention to their invoice. They didn?t show up exactly on time; they were about half an hour late. They were pretty responsive.

The move went very well. Three guys arrived about a half-hour later than scheduled, but the company called before they were due and warned me of the delay, so I was not left waiting and wondering. The movers worked hard and were professional. They were careful with my belongings as well as with the doors and walls of both apartments. The team leader went over all costs with me before and after the move. They finished a little ahead of schedule, so in the end the actual cost was a little less than estimated. I believe I got good value for my money, and I would not hesitate to use this company again.

I thought the experience was absolutely fantastic. Two movers (then about an hour later a third) showed up exactly on time. They brought the wardrobe boxes I rented and unloaded the rest of the apartment while we packed up the closets. We self-packed the rest of the apartment, so I cannot comment on that service. They worked efficiently and were very careful with our belongings. They took care to protect our wood floors and railings in the house. I was very impressed with how quickly they were able to get very heavy items up and down the (many) stairs. They even did a better job assembling our bed frame than the delivery people from the furniture company did. The estimate was exactly right--down to the PENNY. Amazing! We hope not to move again for a long time, but when we do we will definitely use Beltway Movers again.

The people of Beltway Movers & Storage are very dedicated. They are affordable and they have a solid system in place. They are friendly and family oriented. They are very responsive and they do not mix my contents. They are very efficient and they pack. They did not charge me for the boxes and for the storage as I used them to move thrice. They are very accommodating.

When the movers arrived they did a great job protecting our doors and floors. Even with our small 1300sf house, it still took 5.5hrs to just load and unload the truck (plus 40min drive). They worked hard and were great. Their price was $140/hr vs some companies estimating $180/hr.

My only complaint is that the final cost was about 50% more than the amount quoted over the phone. I was not told about extra taxes, fees and material costs such as the shrink wrap. The total time was longer than the estimate, though this can be explained in part by one piece of fuirniture that needed more time than ordinary. Other than that (which is no small item), everything was perfect.

I wanted to move a few pieces of furniture from my house to my grown daughter's house (from Annandale to Lynchburg.) II looked around on the internet and got the run-around (Oh, we need to charge more) from companies. Then, I remembered Beltway Movers. I had used them years ago. They were wonderful then. They were wonderful now. Quality, reliability, professionalism. I paid a bit more, quite happily. The key word for me is TRUST. I trusted them, and they came through, just as they had done years ago, not only on my end, but on my daughter's end. Her husband is disabled and cannot move furniture. I alerted the company to this fact, and the employees put every piece of furniture I was sending to my daughter and her husband in the exact place where they requested, which included moving two pieces around the outside of the house to enter the lower level because the furniture could not come down narrow stairs. They not only came to my home when they said they would; they came early, but did not ring my doorbell. I just happened to see them through a window. They wrapped the furniture with quilted pads, found my daughter's house which is difficult to find in the woods outside Lynchburg, placed everything, and were gracious. My daughter was so impressed with them. I was not surprised. Don't even bother to go with another company. You don't necessarily know how new they are or with whom you are dealing. This is a company that has been reputible for, to my certain knowledge, for 27 years. I don't know who runs it, but he or she knows what he or she is doing. You may pay a bit more, but what you get is honest reliability, which is worth quite a bit in today's world. I think their employees are so good, and stay so long, and a devoted to this company, because they ARE paid a bit more than some fly-by-night that just picks people up from a street corner. If you value your furniture, please consider hiring Beltway Movers. In fact, don't bother to go any further in your search.

The crew showed up exactly on time (quoted from 12-2P; were there at high noon) and ready to get to work. They brought down all of my (self-packed) boxes, furniture, and even wrapped a few loose items I hadn't yet packed for me. They handled it all with extreme care not to damage my apt., my stuff, or my new house (which was very much appreciated, as I have hard wood floors in the new place!). They even navigated the stairwells with my larger furniture items without causing any damage, and without complaining one bit. I couldn't have asked for a better, more efficient, or quicker crew.

Fantastic team. They moved some very large items that could not be taken apart and were extremly careful of them and the surroundings.

Very positive experience. Received over the phone quote that was very accurate. Also received a call a few days before scheduled move to confirm. The 3 man crew arrived a few minutes early (!) and after a quick tour, the team didn't waste time and got right to work. Very fast and efficient. Didn't waste time with small talk or breaks. Had all my stuff in the truck in about 2 hours and once we arrived to my home, unloaded in about the same time. Whole process took about 5 hours. I appreciated their professionalism and would definitely recommend them to others!

I am disappointed that the armoire wouldn't fit up the stairs but don't think anyone else could have done any better work.

Beltway was very professional, efficient and did a very good job. We have used movers several times over the last few years and they were by far the best. Their price was not the cheapest, but near the lower range. Overall, it was a very good experience.
