Very positive experience from initial contact with move coordinator (Jack Schrader) to actual move. I knew exactly what to expect on move day and received a detailed explanation of all costs and tips to reduce costs. Jerome, Lee & crew were on time, in uniform, professional, courteous, careful, and FAST.

Good assistance from receptionist in determining the specifics of the task and explanation of charges, so the company was a great help from the beginning. Receptionist was very polite and understanding. Excellent checking in for confirmation day before the move with detailed explanation of the schedule, work schedule prior to the set time to be at my home. Company was able to move up the time of pickup which was fine, what I appreciated was the communication about the options. Price was set based on phone discussion, but it was made clear that final price would be for time spent. Overall, very satisfying experience from all staff. I had contracted with Beltway 10 years ago with the same satisfaction.

Overall went as smoothly as could be expected. Movers were on time, worked swiftly. Extremely pleasant. First stop was house in MD to pick up furniture, then picked up main furniture, boxes, and piano from DC row-house. Unloaded most items in DC condo. I had obtained "no parking" DC permit and placed signs in front of condo which were ignored by cars, but Movers worked around it without difficulty (parked in alley) and were not phased. Electricity also went out in condo during move (luckily elevators still worked), and again Movers were not phased. They then drove to house in MD to drop off the piano. Total cost was $100 less than original estimate.

These guys did a great job. A crew of three movers showed up on time (around 8 am) and quickly had all of our stuff loaded into their truck. (We opted to pack our boxes ourselves ahead of time). By 10:30 am, they had everything loaded and were ready to head to our new place. Because of the parking lot at our new apartment, the truck was not able to park very close to the building, but the crew still had everything unloaded by 3 pm, well ahead of the estimate. The movers were very careful, and all of our items survived the move safe and sound. The move could not have gone any better.

They charge by the hour and the time does include travel time. They were fast and efficient and I was still happy with the service.

Excellent response time to my initial inquiry. Gave me a detailed accounting of costs that would be involved and tips on how to reduce some of the cost, i.e the number of boxes to be moved, dismantling lamps myself. The movers were 20 minutes late; they were expert in moving the furniture without any damage to the furniture or either of the houses. However they were a bit slow; there was a lot of standing around the truck, and it took longer for them to arrive at the second residence than it should have. Since they didn't have to deal with a lot of boxes it shouldn't have taken as long as it did by at least an hour. But because everything was perfectly intact by the end of the move I was extremely satisfied.

Four different times over the last 2 years I used them to move furniture from one part of the house to another (while floors being refinished). They were excellent! Quick and efficient scheduling. Good prices. Excellent workers - efficient, pleasant, careful. Really - they did a perfect job each time. I've had many experiences with movers and this company is great. (Even though I only moved stuff within the house, I think a regular move would be handled just as well!)

They were exceptionally careful with our art collection, several computers (professional), cameras and to be honest even the stuff that wasn't worth that much. They came on-time, finished early and they were under their quoted amount by half (though to save money, I had packed our extensive book collection). The supervisor was particularly polite, accomodating and gave helpful tips. They were patient when we had to call the people who had built our China cabinet to figure out how to take it apart. They were more than patient with my constant hovering and fussing. I have moved a lot(including a few overseas moves) and they were excellent. There is literally nothing I can think to give them even an A- on. Thank you, Beltway! We will recommend you again and again.

Our experience with Beltway Movers & Storage was A+++. They showed up on time, professionaly dressed, and ready to work. Mid-way through the move, one of the movers got injured and had to go to the hospital. The dispatch office, immediately sent out another mover to replace the injured one and then to make up the loss time, sent out an additional mover to help with unloading of the truck at our new home. We would definitely use Beltway Movers, again for our next move.

I just called them for an estimate, and the person on the phone was less than accommodating. I indicated I needed to move in 3 weeks, but she was not helpful in finding a date for providing an estimate or attempting to ensure that the move would happen within 3 weeks. I understand having too much business, but she wasn't even trying to help me in a polite manner. I was not impressed.

The service quality was excellent. The three movers arrived on time, worked hard, without breaks, for over two hours in 90+ degree heat, and then drove over to the new place and did it again. They were polite, friendly, and careful with my stuff. For instance: the crew chief told his #3 man not to pack a wheeled cart wheels-down in the truck, since that can cause breakage; and they carried antiques gently, well-wrapped, and last out and first in. They sweat and grunted but never complained. My only complaint is that, since I understood that I had to pay the standard $140/hour for the crew's travel time ($170 on weekends, I think), I deliberately called the Alexandria branch when booking. However, the crew they sent came from Gainesville, which is a much longer drive. That said, they came in under their estimate - after we had moved about 30 boxes ourselves to save money!

The phone reps were professional, and quoted $170/hr for the three man crew and a truck. When we called back to actually schedule the move, the price jumped to $185, because we were getting the last available crew for that time slot. Felt like bait and switch-no "real" reason for the higher price. The move itself was smooth (we moved only furniture and about 15 boxes) and took under three hours. When it came time to settle the bill, the driver worked backwards from a high estimate of the cost, by subtracting items (which were never clear to us in the first place). We all agreed that they were owed for 3.75 hours plus a fuel surcharge, but he kept going back to his bizarrely high estimate, then subtracting things out, instead of just agreeing to calculate what we owed from the ground up. The driver got a little surly about it all and called his supervisor. We finally got satisfaction from the supervisor, but not after a whole lot of time and frustration with the driver.

Our movers were amazing... they got the whole job done in three hours. They were VERY professional and concentrated solely on getting the job done. We will recommend them to all of our friends.

The service was the top of the line. The estimate was accurate and very reasonable. The workers made extra effort to get things in place when they moved me. They put things together that had parts.

I love these movers. They are true professionals. They are efficient and neat and fast. Everything was packed quickly and nothing was broken. They took the packing paper with them when they left and any other garbage that was associated with the move. They moved furniture several times and to different rooms until we got to where we really wanted it. They had the patience of saints! They did a great job, and I would recommend them to anyone. I think they were very reasonably priced as well.

EXCELLENT. THEIR ESTIMATE PROCESS IS VERY ACCURATE AND EASY. THEY HANDLED EVERYTHING WITH CARE AND SHOWED UP AT THE APPOINTED TIME. THE MOVERS WERE PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS.

PRICE WAS COMPETITIVE FOR THE SERVICES OFFERED ... PROVIDED EXCELLENT PACKING SERVICES, TEAM OF 3 *PROFESSIONAL* MOVERS. THEY DELIVERED THE ITEMS IN GOOD CONDITION NO DAMAGE AND NO BREAKAGE. HE ESTIMATED TIME OF DELIVERY BEFOREHAND AND WAS RIGHT ON TARGET WHEN THE FINAL BILL WAS PRESENTED.

THEY WERE GREAT. THE THREE TEAM CREW WAS EFFICIENT, POLITE, AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY COMPLETED THE JOB 3 HOURS SHY OF THE ESTIMATED TIME PROPOSED FOR THE JOB.

THEY MOVED ALL MY LARGE FURNITURE AND DID IT QUICKLY. NONE OF MY THINGS WERE DAMAGED. THE PRICE WAS GOOD EVEN THOUGH WE ONLY MOVED A HALF HOUR AWAY.

THE MOVERS THAT CAME TO MY APARTMENT WERE VERY NICE, AND THEY MOVED ALL MY THINGS WITHOUT BREAKING THEM. WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE WAS THE FACT THAT THEY LOADED THE TRUCK WITH ALL MY STUFF, AND THEN THEY LEFT FOR LUNCH. I HAD NO IDEA WHERE THEY WERE GOING OR WHEN THEY WERE COMING BACK, AND I HAD TO WAIT FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR IN AN EMPTY APARTMENT UNTIL THEY RETURNED WITH MY STUFF. I FELT LIKE THEY SHOULD HAVE SCHEDULED THEIR JOBS BEFORE OR AFTER THEIR LUNCH BREAKS. OTHER THAN THAT INCIDENT, I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THEM.
