Aladdin Carpet & Floors

Let me start by saying that my floors were in very bad shape with paint spilled everywhere, and staples and nails sticking out all over. Having just had a bad experience with a different contractor, I did not have the highest expectations. After contracting with Eddie of Aladdin to refinish my hardwood floors, here is how it went. Edgardo showed up on time, collected all pertinent information and he and his team prepared my home for work including plastic covers around the areas they were working on including the entire upstairs and the stairs leading there. They moved all of the furniture from one part of the upstairs to complete half, and then reverse. They finished ahead of schedule and my floors look almost brand new. They put all furniture back where it belonged. I expected dust and a mess to clean up. There was none. These folks were exceptionally professional and did great work. I highly recommend them AND I will use them again for my next flooring project in two other parts of my home. I have nothing bad to day and if you have read my other reviews know that I am not shy about doing so.

It went fine. Some of the finishing around the edges was not so great.

I was referred to Aladdin by a family friend. Eddie visited my home and took measurements for two bathrooms and flooring (vinyl, hardwood, and carpet). The cost for the hardwood and vinyl were a tad higher than another quote, but I was willing to pay the amount since they were referred. The only concern I have is regarding 500 sq/ft of carpet for the bedrooms. I mentioned to Eddie that I had no intention of staying in the house for a long period of time. The intention is to make the property a rental in the near future. Therefore, top-of-the-line carpet was not needed. I wanted polyester carpet versus their recommendation (stainmaster carpet = $$$). During a discussion yesterday, he 1) questioned my finances by implying I did not have enough money to pay and 2) told me that I wanted cheap products. The Department of Housing and Urban Development set guidelines of 7 years for the replacement of carpet in rental units. Therefore, why would I put $2,600 of carpet that will have to be replaced soon? Eddie followed up with an e-mail stating, ?we would rather pass on business with the opportunity to may be do business in the future in in stead of selling products that are sub standard just to make a sale.? So, what does this mean? You may want to skip Aladdin if you 1) anticipate owning a rental property, 2) are interested in anything but high-end products or 3) already have something already in mind and disagree with their opinion. As I stated, I was OK with the vinyl and hardwood quotes. I didn?t receive a bathrrom quote, as we hadn?t arranged a time for me to visit the showroom to choose furnishing. Its unfortunate approx. 500 sq/ft of carpet ruined an entire business relationship (flooring & bathrooms). I guess I will be moving with another company in Jessup, MD. I had a great experience and they listed to the consumer once they gave their professional opinion.

I purchased a package with this company through an Angie's Deal. When they came out to give me a quote, what I had purchased wasn't even enough to refinish one room in the house. The rate they quoted was much higher plus you had to add molding and other charges on top that were not in the deal. I asked them for a quote in writing so I could make a decision. I reached out several times but never got anything in writing. They basically stole my $230 package.

I bought a deal - $1119 for 200 square feet. The room was 220 square feet and that overage + the trim cost me ~$500 more. But in asking around, I found it was still a good deal. The installation staff was extremely professional - left the place clean, handled my furniture with care and even did a few minor random handyman things around the house for me! I had some trouble with scheduling (first one date, then a last minute cancellation, then another and then the work wasn't completed on that date because the installation staff had the wrong address and so arrived late). But overall, extremely positive experience and I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

Nejam was very thorough in planning and all went as planned. The best materials were used, workmanship was exceptional, and the price was unbeatable! (I asked for quotes from three other companies). The new hardwood floor totally changed our house. This was my second service from Aladdin Carpet and Floors and it is where I will go for all my future needs. Period.

After the customer removed all light furniture and other items, books, papers, items on top of furniture and emptied all drawers and cabinets, provider removed carpet pad and old carpet. The provider then brought in and measured and installed a new pad. Then provider brought new carpet, measured and cut the carpet and installed it on the bedroom floor. The above actions required the provider to shift the heavy, large furniture, i.e., dresser, chest of drawers, book case, etc. The work was not satisfactory because many fibers were left at the areas of the cutting. In two places (near the bathroom entrance and at the heat register), the cutting and fit were unsatisfactory and not professionally done. The main complaint is the poor quality of the carpet itself. The material is cheap, man-made fiber which leaves imprints in the carpet wherever a person walks. The carpet is very thin, and it makes a crunching sound when walking on it. We were assured that the STAINMASTER Deluxe Collection carpet is a very high quality carpet, and we had expectations of a plush, deep-weave material that would look and feel luxurious. Instead, we got a thin, cheap-looking carpet which shows footprints all over it.

I needed two estimates and the insurance would cover the least expensive provider. Eddie from Aladdin Carpet and Floors gave me the lowest estimate and it covered exactly what was needed...nothing more and nothing less. Plus, it included insurance that covered any potential problems that could occur with moving my refrigerator out of the way during the work. The repairman showed up on time and was all business (highly professional). By the time I came back from work at the end of the day, everything was fixed and looked great. I was able to handle the entire transaction via phone/fax and online. I highly recommend this provider.

This is probably the first time in my life dealing with contractors that from start to finish the entire process went very smoothly and without any problems. I received estimates from several companies and Aladdin Carpet and Floors was far and away the lowest. Eddie, the salesman, was very friendly and helpful and did a thorough job explaining the process. He followed up with us as scheduled once we placed our order and set an appointment for the following weekend to remove and install the carpet.The workers for the installation showed up on time. Sergio and his two assistants were professional and hard working. They removed the old carpet and padding and installed the new materials in one day. Everything looks great and the job was done to my complete satisfaction. Ben

The personnel at Aladdin carpet were extremely helpful and professional. They genuinely seemed to value me as a customer and were very flexible about scheduling the removal of the existing carpet and installation of the new carpet. After the job was complete, they checked with me to ensure that I was satisfied before making the final payment. I would definitely recommend them.

The workman showed up a little later than anticipated, but i received a phone call earlier from someone mentioning they would be running late. The 2 men worked non stop for about 3 hours to remove the old carpet, place padding, and install the new carpet. They were very efficient, clean, and thorough.

First, the floor refinishers were excellent. They were on time, professional and did a superb job. The carpet installation on the other hand, was far below expectations. First, they were late. 2 hours late. They took 2 days to install instead of the promised 1 day. None of the guys spoke enough English to communicate. We had to point and gesture for everything. When they arrived we pointed out the bathroom we wold like them to use. Later in the day my husband went to use the master bathroom (not the one we pointed out to the installers) and someone had peed all over the seat of the toilet. Disgusting. Within 2 days of the installation the carpet was already coming up. They did come out to fix some of the issue, but it took several phone calls and much arguing to make it happen.

They arrived when expected and set up plastic sheeting to prevent the dust from dispersing beyond the area of the flooring. This wasn't easy as our foyer has a high ceiling. They were able to safely tape plastic over large areas and we found no dust outside the area after they were done. The hardwood floors cover a very complex shape, which included two closets and a powder room. The price was inclusive of everything including the removal and replacement of the quarter rounds around the entire perimeter. They did not put the old ones back but cut new ones which were properly stained as needed. As a measure of the complexity of the shape to be sanded, there were over 60 different lengths of quarter-round that had to be cut and nailed into place. The sanding and sealing was done on day 1, along with the first coating of their special urethane. On the second day, they did the quarter-rounds and applied two more coats of urethane. We couldn't be happier with the final result.

It was ok and I don’t know if I would use them again. The end result was fine but there approach doesn’t seem to be as forth coming ad I would like it to be. They did not say what they were going to do.

The on-site sales associate (Eddie) did a fantastic job. Everything that I requested, the company did. They did an excellent job and I would refer them to anyone.

The salesperson was very kind and accomodating. I was able to get the carpet installed at an earlier time to accommodate an upcoming vacation. We were told we were getting the best price for Stainmaster carpet and that Aladdin stood behind these carpets. We heard horror stories about larger retail carpet chains, so we were happy to be doing business with Aladin. I wish I would have gotten the guarantee in writing from Aladin. What I found out was that Aladdin provided no guarantee that we would be satisfied with our carpet and when I called to report issues, I was shuffled off to Stainmaster. It has been months and I am still waiting to see if parts of our carpet that are basically wearing down are able to be replaced. If I could, I would just replace the entire carpet with a better and cheaper carpet. After 6 months I really wished we had purchased another brand of carpet elsewhere. Whenever guests would come and visit, they would comment that they could not believe we spent $5,000, especially considering it was only 1,000 square feet. After just a few months our carpet started to show wear and was matting and flat in some areas. Our entryway to the kitchen has a large dip in the carpet, as does an area in our baby's room. It is really upsetting to have a carpet that looks so awful and to know that we spent so much money on it. The carpet is just not a luxury carpet, more of a cheap carpet made with Stainmaster fibers just to have the name.

Right from the start, Aladdin was responsive, speedy, and courteous -- getting us a bid on time, at a price that was very competitive, providing us with samples and alternatives, and scheduling an appointment for installation. The two gentlemen showed up when they said they would, and the installation proceeded without a hitch. No problems needed to be addressed -- no mess to clean up, no unpleasant discoveries after the fact. It was as hassle-free as we could have hoped, and the floor turned out beautifully. We would use them again in a New York minute!

We have had nothing but positive experiences with Aladdin of Gaithersburg. Their carpets are high quality, and their service is exceptional. Most recently, we worked with Sasan to carpet our bedroom. He was knowledgeable, responsive, and fully willing to accommodate our tight remodeling schedule. Also, the installers Aladdin uses are very efficient and neat. We intend to use Aladdin in the future for any carpet and flooring needs.

They did a good job and had a good price.

Sasan (sales) was very professional and easy to work with. Alladin's installers did an excellent job. It was quality work, so much so that I did not need shoe molding against my brick wall.

The individual that met with us was Eddie. He is extremely professional and cordial and very informative regarding carpeting and the entire installation process. He pulled all the strings to get the exact carpet that we wanted and was very accommodating with scheduling the installation on the date that we desired. The word was completed on time by a professional team.

Excellent experience. No surprises whatsoever. Eddie T. was great to work with as was the installation team. They arrived on time every day, cleaned up every day, and finished exactly when they said they would. I am very pleased with the quality of my flooring that I chose. Aladdin's Carpet and Floor's bid was much less than what Home Depot quoted me for a cheaper quality flooring product. I love my new floors...thanks Aladdin Carpet and Floors. I just recommended you to my work colleague.
