+ -1 moreIt took us quite a while to schedule this, partly because we bought it close to the holidays and wanted to put it off until after the new year. I was expecting a call back from the company, but I didn't get one and had to follow up myself. Not surprising, given that they had already been paid for the service to be performed. Eventually I turned it over to my wife who corresponded with them via email, and had a similar issue with them not following up when they'd said they would, but she followed up and was able to get it scheduled. The techs were friendly and knowledgeable, but it has been nearly a month and we still haven't gotten our remodel/design plan. Hoping to be able to update this when we eventually receive it.

+ 1 moreThey were fantastic, very poliet and neat. They used protective paper, helped me move my furniture back and forth. They also got out some very tough stains, the floor looked brand new when they were done. I will definately use them again!

+ 1 moreThe salesman we worked with was very nice. He bent over backwards and came to our home several times. The cabinet installer made a hole in the wall, and he sent someone to repair it. Overall, I was very satisfied with the service. But the price was no bargain, and the jobs took weeks longer than it was supposed to before everything was finished.

+ -1 moreMy experience was okay. I don't think I would use them again, but they did everything right. It was just an average experience. Nothing to complain about. They were around my house for 4-5 days. It could have been done better in a few ways and it could have been done quicker in a few ways, but it was nothing to complain about.

+ 0 moreAladdin was very professional, on time and made sure several entrances were covered up in my home to avoid the dust from the refinishing blowing multiple places. The end product hardwood floor was extremely professional looking and complete, and they had excellent follow up. When I noticed some mysterious spots in one place a few months later they came right and eliminated them in 15 minutes which I appreciated greatly. I had the same 2 workers for both my dining room and 4 months later for my living room, which gave me a good deal of comfort. The only part I did not like as much was their charge to move furniture - I moved 90% of it myself out of the room, but there was 1 sofa left over and a piano - both of which they wanted to charge me $100 each for to move. That seemed excessive.
Description of Work: Hardwood refinishing of my living room floor. Previously had refinished the hardwood on my dining room floor.

+ 0 moreIn the end, my experience with Aladdin was good. The $159.00 special price was for 120 square feet, the exact size of my room. I also had a hallway I needed done so before I put any money down I called and asked how much the hallway would be. I was told over the phone that that would bring the total up to $338.00. I thought that was reasonable so I said ok, bought the $159.00 on Angies List and made an appointment. When the salesman got here, he measured everything and said it would be $778.00, more than double the quote over the phone. I told him this. He brought it down to $600.00. I didn't like it, but I agreed. Then he said, well, better underpadding is really a good idea, etc., and by the time he left I had verbally agreed to $900.00 total and given him a $300 payment. I thought about it over the weekend and decided forget it. All I wanted was the original deal for $159.00. I called and to his credit the salesman said fine, reconfigured and in about 10 days I got a check for $300.00 back in the mail. The carpet in my one room looks gorgeous, just be careful about the kind of hardcore salesmanship on the front end.

+ -1 moreThe company came out to provide an estimate after I'd purchased their big deal. They were pleasant enough, but the job could not be done for close to the price of the big deal. Removal and replacement of quarter round and threshold were pretty high, making the cost out of my price range. I expected an additional $100 at best. The estimator said they could not refinish the floors AND the trim. The trim HAD to be replaced even though it is in excellent condition. I found it odd.
