 + 0 moreThe provider did an excellent job refinishing our hardwood floors. Upon ordering the deal through AL, I received an email a few days later. After some exchange, we set a time for the company to assess our floors. On the day of the appointment to assess our floors, the gentleman was late. They said it was a mix up with the phone numbers, so we scheduled a later time for that same day. The gentleman came 30-45 minutes before the scheduled time. Nonetheless, the gentleman who assessed our floors was courteous, knowledgeable about flooring and professional. He offered great advice on finishing, etc. The square footage included in the deal did not cover the living room and adjoining dining room, so we had to pay roughly $600 or more extra. It took some time for them to come back (roughly 2 weeks or more). On the day of the job, they moved all of our furniture. One slight gripe: a piece was missing from one of my tables (it must have fallen off during the moving). The end result is absolutely beautiful. I would recommend this company.

 + 0 moreI have used Aladdin before and generally am happy with them. I purchased carpet for my basement and was not looking to spend too much. The deal was for berber carpet which is what I wanted for the basement. They offered an upgrade to regular carpet but I am planning to sell the house so I was not looking to spend a lot. At the end of the install I noticed that the berber carpet did not completely cover the sides of the stairs, which are open to the finished basement, leaving visible gaps and an unfinished look from the open sides. When I pointed this out, the installer indicated that berber carpet is too stiff to wrap around he sides and through the spindles and that the sales person should have let me know that this would be the result. I was not informed of this (just offered the upgrade). Since the job was done and I am planning to sell the home anyway I am living with it. I just painted the unfinished parts of the stairs that were showing.The rest of the job looks great and installed well.

 + 0 moreI purchased an online deal for $999.00, however, the deal price was not enough to cover the cost of removing the existing carpet and replacing it with like carpeting. Aladdin Carpet worked with me to find a carpet that would fit my budget to include everything included in their advertised deal. The installers were prompt, professional, and did an excellent job installing the carpet, removing the old carpet, and cleaning their work area. Their workmanship was A+ and I would highly recommend them to family and friends. I enjoy doing business with a company who stands behind their work and is willing to do all that they can to accommodate the customer. I will definitely use Aladdin for my home improvement needs in the future.

 + 2 moreDue to severe water damage on our ground floor, we needed to repair 4 rooms. The repairs included asbestos abatement, new subflooring, ceramic tile in one room and carpeting in three others. The products and installer teams were exceptional, prompt, and efficient. Alan suggested the Ditra containment system for asbestos (a subflooring of thin cement layers with a plastic waffle layer in between. This process seals the old flooring and is a leveler for the placement of tiles and carpeting. The result is stunning and there was no odor at all - from the subflooring material, the tile and the carpeting. Due to family illness, we had to interrupt the process and reschedule a number of times. Alan accomplished this at great inconvenience to the installation teams. All of the installers were so competent and friendly. They made a difficult accomplishment possible. We are deeply grateful.
Description of Work: Alan Naini, the superior representative of Aladdin who accomplished the flooring repairs and new tile and carpet. He gave superior advice on carpeting, tiling and subflooring. The cost reflects the quality products we selected and the installations.

 + 1 moreThe contractors were really good. They kept all the dust from the sanding to a minimum, and I thought that was good. They got the job done in one day. They showed up a little earlier than I expected.
Description of Work: It was a Big Deal for $99 for 100 Sq. Ft. of Hardwood Floor Sanding & Refinishing. They replaced the rugs downstairs, and also refinished the hardwood floors in the upstairs. They stripped it down and put on a cherry wood stain. They also laminated the floors. They did this in the living room, sitting room, and hallway.

 + 0 moreI was very happy with the work they did, and it made a wonderful difference in the look of the upstairs. I had gotten my downstairs floors refinished about ten years ago with a different company, and that process took two or three days. It was a pleasant surprise that Aladdin did it all in one day because of the different process they used. My only issue was the final price. It cost more to get the relatively small area upstairs done than it did to get a much larger area (including hardwood stairs) done about ten years ago. Sometimes these Angie's List "deals" turn out to cost a lot more than it seems they will when you buy them. In this case, it turned out that replacing the base molding was extra, and finishing the edge of the floor at the stairs was extra, and replacing a couple of boards was extra. It all seemed plausible, but I need to keep this kind of thing in mind the next time a "big deal" comes along.

 + 0 moreThey arrived on time and finished the work in 1 day. They were very professional and responsive. I had one problem with a certain area and thy came back to correct it without any problem. My only grip is I bought the Big Deal with the Bono finish for $549.99 and by the time they calculated everything during the estimate, it was almost $1000.00 more. Fortunately, I had a previous estimate for a few days earlier from another company and they price matched their rate. The second company did not have any specials or Big Deals. Their rate just came in much cheaper.

 + 0 moreI live in an apartment (Co-Op) on the 6th floor. The workers arrived on time. Two issues - they needed access to the loading dock and they had no money to feed the meters. I was not advised of either issue before they arrived. Weekends are used for moving in and moving out and the loading dock and the service elevator is reserved for that purpose. With the cooperation of the building management and patience of a new tennant moving in, we got the workers, the equipment and materials in. They found parking on the street and I paid for that. The installation itself went well.

 + 0 moreThey did a very nice job. Although they were not advertised as a "dustless" floor refinisher, their machines were attached to vacuums that handled most of the dust. Any dust left over they vacuumed up. It really was painless to have this done and caused minimal disruption. It certainly helps to have the rooms empty prior to the service as we did. I'm sure Aladdin would move your furniture for a fee if you did not do it yourself.

He was patient, came to the house. ordered larger samples for me to bring to the house to help me select the right color carpeting. he educated me on wool vs nylon, pin-dot vs berber vs cut pile. when I made my selection, I was satisfied that I knew enough to make an intelligent choice given that I was concerned about the possibility of pet stains and dingy carpeting on the stairs. The installers were prompt, quick, efficient, and very capable. They did an outstanding job of installing carpeting under a staircase. They moved heavy furniture and were able to stretch the carpet smoothly. They also removed an unnecessary threshold between my bedroom and the closet interior. the installers also asked my opinion about the direction of the planks in the "gym." They leveled the floor before installing the planks and installed shoe molding all around. Some of these details were not specifically included in the contract.
Description of Work: The provider assisted me in selecting carpeting for my entire lower level (basement) and my master bedroom. The installers installed padding and carpeting in the master bedroom, the family room, a bedroom and foyer downstairs as well as on the stairs. I also bought rubber flooring for a room that I use as a gym. The floor "planks" look like weathered wood with a grain.

After I agreed to the job, he followed up to keep me informed about the dates, what I needed to do and to address any concerns. During the installation and refinishing, he was in contact with me regularly and even went to my house to check on the status of the job. Edgardo and his crew did excellent work in installing the floors in one room and refinishing all of the wood floors in the rest of the house. They showed up on time every day, cleaned up at the end of each day and took pride in what they did. Edgardo would talk with me at the beginning and end of every day. I have already recommended them to my neighbors.

 + -1 moreThey were easy to deal with on the phone and very responsive; called to update on timing, reminder call for appt., etc. Our installer was a few hours late the first day (of a two day job) due to car trouble, but we got several phone calls alerting us that they would be late and apologizing. The crew, led by Miguel, were efficient, polite, very neat and organized, and they did an absolutely beautiful job. I would definitely use Aladdin again.
Description of Work: Aladdin removed old vinyl sheet flooring and baseboards from two rooms: utility room and laundry room. They then prepped the floors, laid down new flooring (Dura Ceramic), and installed new baseboards.

Went with upgraded stainmaster carpet and premium padding. We loved the end result. Special order carpet took about 10 days, and installation only 1 day. Aladdin was willing to delay installation to accommodate our travel plans, and other repair work in the basement. Polite, helpful and professional service all the way around. Highly recommended.

 + 0 moreThe crew was right on time; sanding took only a couple of hours. Very professional crew, moved furniture very carefully before setting up, sealing the doorways, and starting to sand. I did notice that once they had started to apply the new Bona finish that there was still a buildup of sand on the plastic draping the doorways, and asked about its possible implications on the finished floor. I was assured that they would sand between all coats and indeed it seemed to be the case. However, once they were gone and the finish had dried, I did notice a slight grit near the doorways where the (dusty) plastic had been. I know that this will wear away and is a tiny issue, but it still bothers me enough to mention it. The workers could have easily knocked the dust down while vacuuming or replaced the plastic draping before starting the refinishing process. That being said, I am thrilled with the results and I will indeed use Aladdin again when it comes time to do the other areas of the house. UPDATE: We were so happy with this project that we had them come back in April to do the rest of the house.

 + 0 moreMy hardwood floor was very stained from water that had leaked around the windows years ago. Aladdin was able to remove all the stains and the floor now looks better than it ever did. The entire job from start to finish only took about 8 hours. But the most important part of the job concerned the electrical work that they did as a follow-up. Because their equipment required 220 volts, they plugged into my dryer outlet. After they left, I found that the dryer no longer worked. Aladdin sent their electrician to my house to see what was wrong. It turned out that the outlet was very loose (almost not connected to the wall), that the wires in the outlet box were exposed, and the electrical tape was so old that it disintegrated when we touched it. I was very lucky that my house never burned down, actually. The electrician fixed the wires and the outlet and it is now completely safe. I really am so lucky that I decided to use this company. Aside from the excellent job that they do, their employees are professional, polite, and clean. They checked back with me several times to make sure that everything was done well and that I was satisfied. I have already recommended this company to several friends because of the high quality of their work and their employees.
