Description of Work: Refinished VERY OLD wood flooring. A little rough. Anticipated total time for job was off by 2 days. And as each day passed, the plastic installed to protected flying dust got looser; hence I had dust on second floor from the first floor sanding. However, I was pleased with their work and professionalism.

Description of Work: Eddie was on time and pleasant while measuring our kitchen floor for refinishing. His quote of $1400 far exceeded the Big Deal offer of $549, yet the SF was only 40% larger (503SF vs 300SF) due to many unanticipated and excessive up charges for thresholds, toe molding, etc. I believe that the "deal" was offered to get a "foot in the door" so that Alladin could take advantage opportunistically.....not the way to do business.

Description of Work: Contacted them for an estimate to carpet 2 rooms in the basement and the stairs. While the "project designer" was friendly and I told him we would be finishing another approx 800 sq ft he had no interest talking to me. He didn't explain anything and only answered when prompted. He only had 3 sample plackets with him and seemed unwilling to provide or discuss other options. His estimate was 1k more than others. No explanation and had to request formal proposal. Wouldn't contact them ever again.

Description of Work: Spoke with Aladdin and got an estimate. After discussing the additional work required to do the job right, we went from spending $549 to closer to $1,000 so we mutually agreed that it would be better to wait on the work because we had more square footage to hardwood than was covered in the deal. I then contacted Angies List for a refund.

Description of Work: We purchased an Angie's List Big Deal, $99 for a 100 square feet of refinishing, and it was a scam from the start. They tried from the beginning to upsell us, basically not allowing us to get a word in edgewise on what we needed. Everything was extra, before they even saw it. We were selling our house and wanted to refinish one bedroom. But no, it was extra for oil-based, and the nosing would cost extra, and the room was unusual (it was a rectangle with a closet). By the time they were done, the $200 job was $1000. Thankfully our contractor on our new home was around and he got on the phone with them, and as soon as they realized they were speaking to a professional, they immediately backed down on many of the things that were "necessary" or "extra" and the quote was closer to $460. The guy who did the actual work was great; punctual and skilled. But don't trust these guys for a second.

Everyone went the extra mile on our behalf, the cost was very reasonable, and the work very well done.We had new carpet installed throughout our home, as well as 2 bathrooms remodeled with ceramic tile, toilets , showers and bathtubs etc. I highly recommend this company to others."

Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's List coupon because I have some damage to my hardwood floor and thought this would be a good way to get those issues taken care of. They came to do a site visit and told me that because I had a parquet floor they could not provide the service that was indicated in the coupon I had purchased. They recommended that I contact Angie's List to get a refund on the coupon I had purchased. Unfortunately, I forgot to contact Angie's List about the refund within the timeframe of the coupon so I never got the refund. While they were doing the site visit, we discussed other things and I ended up having them retile my kitchen floor with a non-ceramic tile, a linoliem product. They did a good job on my kitchen floor. The sales person was courteously and attentive and checked with me though every stage of the job. The installers were very good, polite, and professional. Overall I was pleased with the work they did on my kitchen floor.

Description of Work: Per Angie's deal the firm provided exactly 200 sq ft. of sanding and finishing. Estimated staircase price quoted was much to high for 13 steps. Asking price was $1,200 to sand and refinishing staircase steps.

Description of Work: I had three bedrooms and a hallway of 100 year old floors sanded and refinished. I was very happy with the final product and with the politeness of the crew that came to do the job. They were very professional and cleaned up everything (including sweeping my entire front porch and steps!) upon leaving.
