Description of Work: Sean and team completed installation of Racedeck tile in my two car garage. When Sean came out to take the measurements, he gave me very good recommendations on color, spacing and accessories. All money saving tips. They arrived on time for the installation and were quickly underway. They created a masterpiece in my garage so much so that it doesn't look like a garage. It could be a man-cave if I add a television, but my car is enjoying the space...for now. Hello my name is Jesse and I would like to take this opportunity to perhaps explain some things that the tech did not. To start yes springs are based on the weight of your door, as you said you have an old, wood, heavy door. Additionally you received the heavy duty galvanized springs that have an expected life of at least 25,000 cycle; a standard spring that breaks every 3-5 years depending on use only has 7,000-10,0000 cycles roughly. So out your options of mediocre, standard and best springs you did receive the absolute longest lasting springs that can go on your door. As a homeowner myself I do completely understand that $600 is never fun to pay (especially when it is unexpected) but I promise a spring will not be breaking for a very long time. Again I apologize if your experience was not optimal, but I really hope that you reconsider letting us serve you in the future.

Description of Work: I used ABC as they were well-rated at another service, while a 3rd service offered a special from ABC to swap out rollers, and clean up and lubricate most of the moving parts. They confirmed appointments and overall did a nice job. After their work, the door is noticeably quieter, and on a lot of occasions, I don't hear it open.

The esperience was totally positive! The technician arrived on time, was very polite and competent, did everything efficiently, and was very thorough. He was extremely professional and seemed very bright and knowledgeable. We plan to have the same company come back to refurbish our slightly newer door opener next year. Highly recommended!!!
Description of Work: The technician carefully checked the door, replaced the rollers, lubricated the parts, rechcked afterwards and offered to replace the light bulb that had burnt out in our other garage door opener.

Company was very prompt, along with calls as he got closer to tell me he was nearly there. Work was great. I had a $99 special for the tune up, with extra $69 special for the second garage door. All the work done was great - but I did think the price for reprogramming the remotes and adding a keypad outside were a little high. Overall, the work was good.

Technician arrived punctually within specified time period, calling ahead of time to announce that he was coming. He explained everything he was going to do and answered my questions patiently and clearly, and then addressed the extra concerns that I had. It was a smooth, pleasant, hassle-free experience. I thought the pricing for the tune-up with the Angie's Big Deal was great. I needed extra services at the time of the tune-up which was offered to me for an additional discount. I think I probably could have done that extra service myself for less, but considering the convenience of just being able to have it all done at once, and done well without a lot of wasted time, I think it was well worth the money.
Description of Work: Tune-up of both garage doors, including the balancing one door that had been crooked, replacement of rollers, checking and tightening of spring tension. Also changed burnt-out light bulb in motor unit and programmed and installed new universal keypad to replace broken one.

The technician finished in less than an hour. He showed me that the torsion springs were loose on 1 garage door, and said it would cost $400 to replace, but he'd do it for $350 if I also replaced our broken keyless entry for $50. His price for replacing the springs seemed high to me at the time, but unfortunately I hadn't done any cost comparison research. Plus, I'd forgotten their "Big Deal" stated 20% off any additional service. After the fact, I found on different blogs that the average cost of r eplacing torsion springs usually costs $175-$200 for one garage door, and I was charged $350. He replaced the keyless entry with a Liftmaster 387LM Universal Keyless Entry Garage Door Opener (found online for $15) that turned out to be defective. He didn't have any more on his truck, so I have to make an appt to have them return to replace it. I didn't feel very happy paying $600. I asked him how much a new garage door would cost and he said $1200.
Description of Work: It was an Angies' List Big Deal for $99 for one garage door and $67 for the 2nd door. It included replacing all rollers with new quiet white nylon ball bearing rollers; lubricating all hinges/bearings/springs/opener rail; adjusting spring tension to balance door properly; adjusting tracks for perfect spacing; tightening hinges where needed; checking lift cables for wear; adjusting safety pressures of opener to make sure it reverses on contact; adjusting infrared sensors for proper alignment. 20% off any additional service.

Purchased coupon on Angie's List and called ABC immediately to discover that they already had received notification of my purchase. ABC scheduled me for a call this week. The technician arrived a little later than promised (and apologised for the delay), but this was not a problem for me. He went to work on my garage door, checked everything out, installed the new (much quieter) nylon rollers, and did a couple of other things (installing a new bracket and refitting the lock bars) gratis whihc may have not been in the original scope of the offer. The technician was in and out in about an hour. Service as advertised, professional, efficient and economical: I couldn't ask for more.
Description of Work: Service exactly as advertised: a $99 garage door tune-up including installation of new nylon rollers.
