Felix came and gave estimate two days after our first call. After we agreed to the job, they scheduled for two weeks later. Came on time and did an excellent job. Even after running into unexpected problems due to the age and condition of our floors, they worked late and on the weekend to finish. When they couldn't come one day due to an equipment issue they discounted the job $200. Outstanding job replacing old boards-they match perfectly! These are the first contractors we have used since moving to Maryland in 2005 that we have been so satisfied with.

They are doing good so far! The owner has been very responsive to our needs and is very accommodating with my needs and schedule.

They were pleasant, polite, professional and did an excellent job. The price was excellent too, the best of all estimates.

We had our other floors refinished earlier this year by Felix's team and he gave us consideration as a returning customer. The floor install date was difficult to fix due to working around the kitchen contractor but we were able to schedule within a week when the sub floor was in place. The team came on time and finished the refinishing and install with water-based stain and poly (green coatings - good since I'm pregnant!) by that evening. The floor looks great and Felix came twice that day to check and inspect.

He did a very good job and I am planning to use him again for another bathtub. He was very prompt and very responsible.

The owner came out very promptly for the estimate. He gave me other ideas if I didn't want to use his services. I went with him and his guys were great when they came out. They showed up the day of the job on time.

I tried three different companies and got three different bids. This company took the time to tell me what I needed to know and were very thorough. They went out of their way for me. I am real pleased with their service.

We called about having our floors refinished on a Saturday morning and Felix, the owner, made an appointment to see us that afternoon. He explained the complete refinishing process and helped us decide which finish to choose. Felix told us that the sealant he uses on the floor before putting on the polyurethane would bring out the natural beauty of the wood, so we decided to go with a natural satin finish. He also told us how to care for the floors afterwards. The work was scheduled for 9 days later to accommodate our schedule and was completed in 2 days. The workers were punctual and cleaned up perfectly. The floors came out better than we ever expected! And the water damage is completely gone. My husband was present at the beginning of the sanding and said it truly is a dust-free process. This was a very pleasant experience from start to finish and our floors are simply beautiful! We highly recommend this company!

The job went very smoothly. They completed the job in three days and the floors look absolutely amazing. I couldn't be more pleased. If I ever refinish my upstairs, I will definitely use them again.

It went great. This was a professional job. I wish all my projects would be completed with the same professionalism and quality. Felix, the owner, is a very nice guy and a pleasure to do business with. My friends already know who they will choose for their hardwood flooring needs.

The job went wonderfully. Mr. Felix was very professional, calling me back promptly when I phoned first to get an estimate and then to schedule a date for the work. He and his workmen arrived right on time, worked all day, and finished the job in the same day. He was very good in explaining what finishes were available and the benefits and drawbacks of each, and let me check the floors after he had sanded and applied the first coat so I could see exactly how they would look when completed. The floors had been given a dark stain before, were heavily scratched (from previous owners' pets), and had water damage in the area right outside the bathroom. Now they look just beautiful. And the work was indeed "dust free," as advertised.

The owner and workers were punctual and professional. The job was scheduled for 5 days and the work was performed on schedule. I had four rooms of furniture moved to storage and the job began. The old carpet and vinyl tile was removed and new hardwood flooring was installed, sanded, and stained. The job required approximately 1,000 square feet of flooring. Also, stair treads and risers were installed on two flights of steps. The owner was very helpful in deciding what color of stain to use and made sure that the subfloor was properly screwed down. The sanding was truly dust free. I did not have to remove paintings, curtains, etc. before the floor sanding was done. The floors and steps are beautiful and well worth the cost.

Excellent. Felix responded quickly with quote and was available to begin work, approximately 2 weeks after we agreed to proceed. His crew did a careful job removing furniture and rugs before sanding. Felix helped by recommending the stain that we ultimately chose to use. Felix was on site for all key steps and regularly checked in with his crew. After completion, the crew returned the furniture and rugs. The floors looked brand new. Dustless sanding is the only way to go!

WOW! Professional. When I set up my appointment, they were there on time. He even told me to get a few other quotes. The work they did was amazing, they were clean, professional, the people he had working for him were very nice. I was more than happy with the work they did! I called 5 or 6 other people, no one even came close. By far, through my experiences (I have 4 rental properties), they are the company for hard wood flooring! The workmanship was 2nd to none!

I never got a call back, so I called another company.

Felix and his team were great! The initial quotation was within a week of the call. He explained that the floors were in fair condition and some areas wouldn't be returned to new floor beauty due to years of neglect but that new wood would provide a satisfactory patch. We had to reschedule once due to delays in getting the bathroom completed. His team came by to do a test patch of the floor and we elected to go with plain oil-based polyurethane as the wood looked great with no stain. The team got to work and had the sanding finished, including the stairs, in 2 days. The first coat of poly did not look good on the stairs, which were a later addition to the house and a different type of oak. The team was able to re-sand and stain just the stairs so it now blends with the first floor. We were able to walk on it two days later, after three coats of poly and moved in five days later. We are very pleased with the work - it was truly dust free (freshly painted walls don't lie!).

Felix (owner of company) responded to my initial call within one hour and came by the next morning to give the estimate/price quote of $1100. The work was scheduled for approx. two weeks later, which suited my schedule and his. The crew arrived on time and finished the work in 1 1/2 days (in 48 hours we'll be able to put the furniture back in the room and use again). The floors look amazing and like new. Frankly, I cannot imagine why anyone would have their floors sanded the "old" way. We'll be calling Felix again within the year to refinish the remaining wooden floors in our home.

They came promptly for estimate and showed up for work on time. Job completed on time with good workmanship. Boss and workers were very courteous.

The dustless sanding process which the company uses is truly dustless, utilizing a state-of-the-art German sanding machine with a very powerful vacuum. I initially believed that "dustless" sanding was impossible, and had been informed by a number of other well-established floor refinishing companies that there was no such thing as dustless refinishing. Unique's price for the job was actually lower than estimates I had received from other non-dust free contractors. After the full-bore sanding was completed, there was not even a fine coat of sand on my kitchen counters. Instead, 50 pounds of floor sand had been sucked out of my house into a bag in the garage. Felix is punctual and very professional, with a very good crew. I never thought I would say this, but having my floor refinished was actually a pleasant experience. Also, my floor now looks great.
