We were impressed with Orly's prompt and detailed quote, as well as their professionalism while procuring information and signing the contract. The moving professionals (3) were prompt, courteous, clean, and very careful with our furniture and our new home. They got to work quickly and clearly were well trained in the task at hand. When the job was finished, it was almost exactly as long as they estimated, and so was the final cost. Nice work!

I am very pleased with Orly Moving Systems. They were nice and extremely professional. They arrived early and were very gentle with my daughters belongings. I was quoted a price before the move and that was excatly what I paid. Orly is one of the best moving companies that I have ever used.

The supervisor did a fine job with his crew. They were very careful with everything and we had no damage. They came at the appointed time they said and were pleasant to work with.

I felt that they were well worth the money. They arrived on time and they knew what they were doing. There were no accidents. They were nice people to deal, including the movers. They were quick, efficient, and professional. They even arranged the furniture for us. They were gentle with the furniture.

ORLY WILL BE "LAST" ON MY LIST FOR FUTURE MOVES. MEN WERE VERY CAREFUL WITH EVERYTHING. MOVED AN ORGAN WITH EXTRA CARE. I GAVE A VERY GENEROUS TIP. THAT'S WERE MY SATISFACTION ENDS! THE SIGNED CONTRACT INCLUDED 5 FREE WARDROBES (PER ANGIE'S LIST) BUT WHEN IT CAME TIME TO PAY FOR THE MOVE, THE COMPANY TRIED TO CHARGE $48 FOR THE 5 WARDROBE BOXES. THE SUPERVISOR CALLED ORLY'S OFFICE AND THE COMPANY INSISTED ON CHARGING FOR THE WARDROBES. I ASKED THEM TO LOOK AT THEIR COPY OF THE SIGNED CONTRACT. THE GENTLEMAN AT THE OFFICE SAID HE DIDN'T HAVE A COPY. I TOLD THEM I ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE 5 FREE WARDROBES. THIS WAS MY 4TH MOVE WITH THEM. I HAVE PAID RECEIPTS FOR ALL MY PAST MOVES, YET THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF MY USING THEM BEFORE. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL OFFICE STAFF. LEFT ME FRAZZLED!!!

I gave them a list of our stuff and they gave me an estimate of the cost. They arrived on time with 5 men and worked for about 8 or nine hours. They worked extremely fast and helped us pack some things we hadn't had time to pack. They took apart and put together a king size bed without even asking me. They were professional and friendly. Not a single thing got broken. I have moved about 30 times in my life, including internationally several times. This was the best experience I ever had. I tipped all 5 well!.

They showed up on time and were efficient. The only upselling they did was asking me to buy extra insurance but it was a soft sell so no issues there. Also they do charge to the tape they use but the fee is what you would pay retail so again no big deal. Also, at my new place we had issues fitting the couch into the living room. They stayed at it even helping me take the feet off the couch to get it in. So kudos for that.

I was surprised that Tom at Orly didn't come out to perform an estimate. Instead, he asked for a detailed list of our belongings via email. He than recommended a truck size, number of men, and estimated the actual cost. When the movers showed up, the foreman immediately said that they would need to make two trips or require a second truck -- of course at a much higher cost. I was a bit peeved. He than said to give them two hours to reevaluate. After two hours, he was very impressed with Tom's estimate and assured me that everything would fit. The work was completed on time. The only damage incurred was a nick on one piece of door casement in the new house. The team of movers was kind, courteous, and responsive. I would recommend Orly to anyone.

Overall they did a good job. I was particularly impressed with the foreman; he somehow found a way to be responsive to my requests, keep his team working at a quick but sustainable pace, organize how objects were loaded into the truck and do as much physical labor as the other workers. When moving us out of the old apartment they worked quickly. They used packaging materials when they were required but did not go overboard and where careful with objects that were obviously breakable. The move in process also went smoothly. The team was well organized and quickly placed furniture were I specified. Most importantly the foreman communicated with me often about possible risks during the move. One case I remember distinctly was when our bed springs would not fit up a tight staircase. When the problem was noted, the foreman told me what would be required and the damage that might result. I was impressed with his candor and grasp of the possible outcomes. The only bad thing I can say is that Orly team could have been more careful with the more mundane objects which they moved for me. Once into my new apartment I noticed that some of the boxes deformed and a leg from my coffee table was detached. I must point out that the damage seems completely superficial because I have not found anything which was inside of the boxes which is now broken and the table leg was already wobbly and is removed in such a way that it will be easy to reattach. Since being a mover requires balancing the extremes of very quick and very careful, I would say that the Orly moving team had found an excellent balance between the two.

Great service from initial inquiry to actual moving the piece. The movers arrived early, and safely without a scratch moved my desk up to two precarious flights of stairs. They even moved an old piece that I was going to get rid of for me. They were extremely polite and wasted no time.

The process I wanted to take in selecting a moving company was to get ball park figures from at least 3 companies for the number of rooms I wanted to move and then select companies to provide an onsite estimate. My first encounter with Orly was through their moving consultant Bonnie Greenwald. She was quite pushy and argumentative about accepting my process, insisting on an estimate instead of giving me a ball park figure. After maybe five or six emails, I was finally able to get her to give me a ball park figure. After that she must have spammed me every day for two weeks asking every day if I'd made a choice for a mover yet. I finally had to tell her not to email me any more or I would take her company out of consideration. Even then she couldn't help herself and sent me yet another email asking not to be taken out of consideration! I did invite Orly out for an estimate. The manager who came clearly made up for the short comings of Ms. Greenwald. He was professional, knowledgeable, and obviously quite caring about my move. Since Orly's estimate was close to the others, and I was most comfortable with their manager, I went with Orly. They arrived on time. The team was professional, and conscientious. In spite of having several schedule changes they were able to work with me and meet the requirements. The down side was they are very limited in their payment processing abilities. Upon delivery they only accept cash and in today's post 9/11 world, if you don't want to carry that much cash, picking up that kind of cash in a new location where your bank is not located is a challenge. The team delivered my household goods to a Florida storage facility. The storage facility provide personnel to verify the shipment for me as I was unable to stay for the storing of the goods. During the off load, 5 pages of discrepancies were found in the inventory labeling. Also during the off load one of my antique glass tops was shattered right in front of the storage people. The movers called their headquarters and asked if they should sign the acknowledgment that they broke the glass and they were told not to sign it. Eventually I was able to convince Orly that they were the ones who broke this glass. The consultant was Ms. Greenwald again, and of course she was as pushy as she was during our first encounter, threatening that they would not pay if I didn't meet "their" deadline to submit the claim. She knew the goods were in storage and that I was still in a hotel and had limited access to resources. Luckily the local moving company helped organize the pictures and the quote and only after threatening Ms.Greenwald with a lawyer, did she finally agree to receive email copies of the damage. The estimate was only for $156.00 but it was still money Orly owed to me. All of this happened March th. It is now the end of May and I still have no check from Orly. They are "looking into it".

Our moving crew arrived just a couple of minutes after they were expected, but no big deal. The foreman was very professional and introduced himself and had us show exactly what we were having moved. We had a crew of 3 men; they worked very fast and were done in about 2 hours, which meant that our final price was $100 less than our estimate. The only thing I didn't like was that when I booked the service, I did not automatically receive confirmation of receipt of my deposit and we are missing a small piece on one of our desk chairs. However, given all the bad things that can happen during a move, these were very minor annoyances.

It went very well. I called for an estimate 2 weeks before the move date and Tom was patient to explain the details. He did not send someone to come do an in-person estimate because there wasn't enough time. He agreed to start the job at 9 instead of 8 because our apartment couldn't lock down the elevator until then. The movers came at 8 on Friday because they didn't know that the job starts at 9. The foreman Ronald was nice enough to wait till 9 without extra cost. 4 movers came and they were very efficient and professional. They moved the boxes first and wrapped our disassembled furniture in blankets. It took them about 2 hours. Then we drove to Rockville which took about an hour. And the movers moved the boxes and furniture to our new apartment. In total it took 4.5 hrs which is less than the estimated 5 hrs. We gave about 18% tips.

The estimator was prompt, movers showed up as promised and move completed well.

Despite bad weather, they were on time, efficient and careful with our items. The cost of the move was less than what was quoted, and the move team was very clear and honest about the costs of the move. Everything was well padded and wrapped and we had no damage to report. Bonnie took care of our initial quote and schedule, and could not have been more helpful. She called a day or so ahead of time to reconfirm. This is a good moving company, we would definitely use them again.

From the time we called Orly they were extremely professional and helpful. We scheduled our move from the first conversation and Tom (the person who seems to manage the appointments and payments) gave us an estimate. We had to put down a $100 deposit to confirm. We had to make a change to our itinerary during the week between our initial conversation and the scheduled move because we needed to pick up our mattress from a different location than the storage unit. They easily accommodated us. On move day (the day after our last snow storm!) the movers arrived early! The picked up our mattress and then followed us to the storage unit. The guys were so respectful and hard working. They moved our stuff quickly and carefully into our house, often up a number of steps. Overall we were extremely impressed.

I spoke with Tom Stansbury who scheduled everything. He was very accommodating. I called around to several different companies and for four men with a truck, I could not find a company that beat Orly's rate. I was still a little skeptical and hesitant to use them, but based off a friend's recommendation I went with them. They were very professional and helped to calm me down as I was very nervous during this move. They were hard workers, they barely took breaks they just kept on moving. At lunch time, they ate a sandwich and within a half hour were back to working. Nothing was damaged. I would recommend them and use them again.

This was a fantastic moving experience! Everyone showed up on time. Nothing they packed or we packed was broken. The movers did scratch the newly refinished floors in our new house, but Orly paid us the full amount of the flooring estimate without any complaints and did so quickly. Plus, they came in under budget by almost $700. I would highly recommend them to anyone who values quality work and professionalism.

The crew showed up on time and worked diligently throughout the afternoon. Normally, a mover will not unplug things like power cords, speaker cables and the like, but this crew took pity on me as I am recovering from surgery and could not do this as is usual. They were very careful to place items exactly where I wanted. No items were broken in the move, and there were virtually no scuff marks on walls. Due to the complexities of the items being moved, it took longer than anyone expected, but the crew worked beyond normal hours with no complaint, and I don't think they even took a break along the way. Very courteous and responsive. The only glitch from a customer-friendliness point of view is that the company only takes credit card up to a max of $500, and money order, certified check or cash beyond that. In all fairness, they warn you of this well in advance. However, because the job took longer and cost more than expected, through no fault of the company, I had to make an ATM run.

I called this company specifically because of all the positive reviews on this list, so I was very surprised that they did a no-show on the appointment for the estimate, and never followed-up.

This move was not your typical move due to the 13-foot wide row-house. Orly was made aware that we would require the hoisting of furniture down two stories over a roof with skylights. Their crew was punctual and well prepared with supplies. They wrapped all furniture and communicated their intentions very well. All furniture, even the hoisted pieces were well cared for. The move into our new house was performed without incident. They even moved an existing couch to a new floor. The only problem came when they backed the moving truck into my father's new car. There was minor damage to the car and everyone took pictures. Orly assured my father that the damage would be paid by the company. After getting a quote, Orly cut a check for the repairs in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this company to a friend.

Chose co. because of the reports on Angie's list. The est. was also lower than many companies. They gave me over-the-phone est-actual costs were about $100 more. Arrived about 45 minutes late. 2 men did most the heavy lifting and moving. One of the 3 men ("Munray" I think his name was) tagged every box and made decisions about what they would move and would not move, tallying costs along the way. Was difficult to understand him (English was 2nd lang.) and the rationale for some of the little costs that began to add up. Wish I would have known to have food/drink available to the movers - it seemed to be expected it would be provided on both ends. Since I didn't follow them to their storage facility, I had to trust him when he said our stuff would take four storage crates, though he had predicted 2-3 crates when surveying our stuff. Was uncomfortable with the pressure Munray gave me, re: the tip - felt manipulative. Bonnie @ Orly was good, but hurried. A bit careless with furniture.

The three man crew arrived at the beginning of the window I was given. They moved me from a third-floor apartment with a narrow staircase that required lots of maneuvering. They followed me to the new home and unloaded into the house following my directions of where to place items. Everything arrived safely. My furniture was treated with care. The crew was friendly and professional. They worked fast and non-stop, finishing the move in less than the estimated time.

Overall, it was a great experience. After my initial phone call, they came out the following day and gave me a very reasonable estimate. They also indicated that the price would not be higher, but if the move takes less time than indicated in the estimate, I would only be charged for the time it took. They confirmed the date and time of the move ahead of time. On the day of the move they were about 35 minutes late, but our townhouse development is a little difficult to find. They were extremely professional, worked quickly and wrapped each piece of furniture to protect it. In the end, the entire move took one hour less time to complete than indicated on the original estimate, and true to their word they reduced the price accordingly. Would definitely use them again.

Set up with Tom was very simple and he called the day before to reconfirm so I knew they would show up. A small glitch at the beginning as when they arrived the head mover told me there was a three hour minimum and Tom had told me a two hour minimum but when I called him, he promptly straightened things out. The movers were prompt and courteous and did a great job. I would use them again.
