The firm was very accommodating, scheduling our move on short notice. The movers arrived promptly in the morning, bringing enough help to do the job, and worked quickly and carefully, We moved from a 3 story home to a new 3 story home, which involved hard work, negotiating tight turns, and the physical activity of going up and down stairs at two locations. They were great. They were experienced, worked well together, and communicated with us when they had a question. They also were happy to answer our questions and address our concerns. The movers caused some minor wall damage in the apartment we were moving out of, which required repair and paint, and the firm was very accommodating in re-imbursing us for the cost of the repairs. There were no surprises as far as supplies used, and we were impressed when the moving truck laft after a hard day's work for all of us.

They tore up the banister on the top of the stairs. They told me they would cover it, but it took 6 or 7 phone calls in order to get it. They made up excuses and it was a really tough time getting that money back. Other than that it went well. At the beginning their truck broke down causing a delay for an hour or so.

They grossly misquoted me by $1000. I would have taken another quote. They totally messed up. All my stuff is in storage and they called an said they mispriced me. I would have gone with someone else.

I thought the move went fine. There was damage on one item at the end of the move. They offered to take responsibility for that, but I said it was okay because it has been damaged during a move previously. A day later I realized my camera and my Garmin had been stolen. They have been telling me basically that they are not responsible. They set unreasonable expectations for me to be able to let them know if everything had been transfered acceptably. Those items were out and about in my apartment during the time of the move. I paid for the basic insurance offered by the company.

From the initial telephone call to Orly, through the in-house estimate, my multiple phone calls and emails asking more questions, through the delivery of my belongings, Orly's staff were consummate professionals. There are many horror stories out there about moving scams, broken belongings, and actual costs far exceeding estimates, that I was nervous, but Orly did exactly what they said they would do, they were always courteous, and they matched the estimate. There was a little damage to one piece of furniture, which was fixed before the outbound trip with a professional. They were much more prepared than I was, and made a difficult move much easier. It would have been enough to be professional, but they were pleasant as well, and very accommodating. Overall, an excellent experience.

What a phenomenal team! Orly sent four men to move our heavy furniture items in a local move. The team was great at wrapping furniture pieces quickly and packing them in the truck in a flash. Once at the new house, they had to negotiate a tricky steep staircase. They were very careful not to damage the walls in moving the big pieces upstairs. I was amazed at how quickly they got the job done. A definite improvement over the last time we moved! Not all moving companies are created equal, believe me. This team was professional and wonderful to work with.

Overall, the movers did a good job working hard all the way through; however they did not do anything to protect my carpets and as a result, I had to get them professionally cleaned after the move. The last time I moved the movers put down plastic runners and door guards to protect the house. I called over a month in advance to schedule the date that they were to deliver my belongings from storage and we set the date and I paid a deposit and signed a contract to confirm it. Two weeks before they were to come, they called to tell me that date didn't work and they couldn't deliver my stuff. They said that they were a small company with only 7 trucks and couldn't do it. They never answered my question as to why they accepted my contract and deposit knwoing how much stuff I had and that I needed that date. Needless to say, I found a differenct moving company

One of the references for this company said that orly had a contract for three men, but when they showed up they had four men. When the three men came there was no room in the truck for a forth person, so I doubted that was the truth. At one time I left them when they were almost finished with packing. They said they had gotten everything out and they were good about putting everything where I asked them to also, so I gave them tips. However, When I went back they had left two closets with still a quarter of cloths and there was still things they had left in rooms. I was really frustrated and I knew calling them back would not get me anywhere. I had also gave them a short break, and I caught them breaking longer than I thought they would. I had to remind them with some attitude. It really was not that pleasant, it was actually quite disappointing.

They arrived on time, very professional and completed within the time window on the estimate.

I moved from a 3 bedroom town home. I did all the packing beforehand and Orly did the moving. They were very professional and punctual. They were responsive to my initial inquiries and addressed all my requests along the way, including a date change. The quote they gave me initially based on a written inventory was alomst exactly the final amount due. The move went very well and I'd definitely use them again.

They were accurate with their quote. They were professional, careful, and competitive with their pricing.

Orly was very easy to deal with! I read their reviews on Angie's List and thought I would contact them for an estimate. Their rates were very reasonable (and they even threw in an extra guy - paid for 3/hr and 4 showed up at no charge!). Their estimator and office folks were responsive to our questions and did a great job with the upfront estimated costs (right on the money!). The crew showed up on time and performed in a very professional matter. We had a small move to relocate my grandfather and a few of his boxes and pieces of furniture to an assisted living center. The guys treated everything with respect and worked in a timely manner. The whole move took less than three hours start to finish. I would certainly recommend this company for future moves!!

Four movers arrived (a tad late but called to let me know) and got to work very quickly, introducing themselves by name and reviewing everything with me. I had been promised only 3 so I was happy to see 4. I worried about one bookcase (size, weight) but the men moved it without a problem. Had to use an elevator in the retirement community - no complaints, no problems. They cleaned up all trash along the way and were done in one hour. Travel to the destination was easy - found their own way, less than an hour - and the move in was just as efficient and careful. The ground was too soft to drive the truck right up to the door so extra walking/carrying was involved. Everything handled beautifully. I am so glad that Angies List had this referral for me!

I called up on the Tuesday before Christmas and spoke to Tom. He was very nice and courteous over the phone. He asked me to send him a rough list of what we wanted moved, after which he sent us an estimate that turned out to be fairly accurate. He was the first person I called, so I called some other companies after him, but in the end he offered us the best price ($110/hour for a three-man team, plus an hour for travel time), had good Angie's List reviews, and was able to schedule us for the day after Christmas. The team showed up fifteen minutes late (8:15am) but worked very quickly and professionally despite the date, snow on the ground, and rainy weather. They moved everything out of our Ellicott City location (~5,000 lbs worth of stuff) and over to Rockville in 4.5 hours, which was less time than I estimated it would take them. Their speed saved us money, which, as first-time homebuyers with lots of other expenses, we appreciated. Other than a few minor brushes against our walls that came off easily with a cloth and water (it was a muddy day), their speed did not affect their quality. I will definitely use them in the future if necessary and will recommend them to friends and family.

I added some items to the move and the team accepted that and handled it without a problem. I would recommend them for any move. More than I expected.

The moving men were punctual, professional and friendly. I was hestiant to bother them move this piece around the room since it's so large but they were very patient in helping us determine its best placement in the room.

The estimate was based on a crew of 3, but they sent a crew of 4 at the same price. They were on time, and worked very quickly, efficiently, carefully, and politely. It was just a short distance apartment move, so they had us loaded, moved, and unloaded again in about 2 hours. Very happy with their work!

The move went very well. They were on time and ready to work, as was I. They followed me in my car to each stop, though they did have a Nav system if they got lost. At each stop we were in and out in 20 minutes, the guys were really efficient as well as courteous; and they took time to point out items of mine which already had scratches, etc., which was a prudent thing to do. I had an issue at arrival because I had been given some dodgy directions about where we were supposed to park the truck, but they handled it in stride. In any event, They did a really good job and I tipped them well for their efforts.

The foreman was sharp and followed instructions. The movers were very careful and fast. They even warned me of the approaching meter maid.

One item moved was a tempurpedic mattress.The mattress was in perfect condition when it left our house and was damaged when we received it at our new location.Tempurpedic mattresses must be transported and stored in a flat position. The mattress was absolutely transported, and (probably) stored, on its side. This positioning caused the materials in the mattress to separate, detach and slide independently. Orly Moving has insisted that its improper handling of the mattress was not the cause of the damage; that the damage was due to imperfections in the mattress. In good faith, I paid for insurance to cover any damage that may occur during the move. Orly Moving will not honor this very clear insurance claim. If you use Orly Moving, don't waste your money and buy their insurance.

One thing that was problematic was that they were not careful with our sofa at all. They dragged it without pads along our floor and out to the truck. When we got to our new place we found the sofa to be very dirty. I asked the head guy about it and he said they were very careful with it and any dirt was our fault. he claimed that they covered the cushions with pads and put them on top of our boxes away from the dirty floor of the truck and therefore any dirt came from our boxes. I pointed out that their pads were pretty dirty, there were clouds billowing up as they folded them in the truck, and he basically said "no they are not." this was quite frustrating. Overall these guys were good but we'll be getting our sofa cleaned. Any move is going to have issues and ours were annoying but relatively minor. We would use them again.

They did very good work. The movers were quick and careful. My only grip is that the cost ended up quite a bit higher than the estimate, but not because of a wrong price quite, instead because they failed to mention prior to the day of the move that all shipping materials would cost extra. Its not a big deal, but you would think that sometime before them showing up at my front door, someone would mention that there would be additional cost; especially since they would not take a personal check and only cash or certified check. But again, other than that they did a very good job for the actual move. Nothing was broke and there was no damage to any furniture or walls (save for one tiny spot). Still, I do recommend them.
