Crest Appliance Repair

Repairman arrived early and went right to work. He found the problem and completed the repairs in about an hour. He was good with our two dogs, also.

Arrived 3 hours after my call. Did not mind me looking over his shoulder and in fact described each step of the trouble-shooting process. Identified that no mechanical failure occurred but identified a vent that had frozen shut. In addition to steaming open the frozen vent and a drain, he also described what to be aware of in the future.

Electric dryer wouldn't operate. Technician (Gilbert Rubin) came to the house, diagnosed the problem and repaired the unit in less than 30 minutes. What was even more impressive was that the original service request was through an email submitted on Christmas day and Gilbert responded within 15 minutes of my posting the message and showed up the next morning to successfully make the repair.

I've used them for more than 15 years to repair appliances. They are pleasant, smart and extremely good repairing appliances. He is honest.

Reporting for my friend Sue S. in another city ... Called two other repair shops about a refrigerator problem, and the third shop - Crest Appliance Repair - agreed to come out the same day. Arrived by noon and quickly diagnosed and replaced a bad motherboard. Very reasonable price, nice experience. "Kudos" (said Sue ;).

The appointment went very well. I appreciated his honesty. He showed me why the dryer wasn't working. He looked at the stove and the refrigerator first and gave me the report mentioned above. Also, I appreciated him coming out on a Saturday when Monday wasn't good for me.

It turned out that he was on his way somewhere else and he was able to come by that night to look at it. It seemed like he was very honest. It seemed like his prices were reasonable. The only thing was that if he wasn’t on his way, he would not have come by to do this repair just because it was a small job. It seemed like he was not happy that it was a smaller job. I don’t know how to explain that. He said he does make exceptions for Angie’s list customers. I will use his services again in the future.

My refrigerator stopped being cold. I called for assistance and I got a rapid response. He was at the house within several hours. Once he diagnosed the problem it was a short time before it was fixed. When I made the call, he asked questions and tried to anticipate what parts he would need and made sure he had those with him when he came. There was also a follow up call to make sure everything was working well. The overall experience was quite efficient, professional and the work space was left as neat and clean. I would highly recommend Crest Appliance.

It was a long and detailed repair and the technician did not leave until everything was resolved.

Gilbert, the senior technician arrived at my home at the agreed time. He diagnosed the problem as a faulty ice make and had the part on his truck. Gilbert also helped me out by installing the door closing cams on the refrigerator door. From start to finish he was there only about one hour. He was very knowledgeable and fast.

A+++++++!!!!! DON'T CALL ANYONE ELSE BUT CREST!!! We called on Sat afternoon and he had already decided to call it a day but came out because it was our fridge and we were in a bind!! He used caller ID to get my name and address so I didn't have to provide it, then he asked detailed questions to diagnose the problem. He took the model number and age of appliance so he was prepared with parts. He said he would come out in 1 to 1 1/2 hours and was ON TIME!!! He was concerned about protecting our hardwood floor when he moved the unit; he explained in detail all the possible issues and consequences of what could be wrong and WHY and the economic feasability of repair. On top of everything else he is a really nice guy - good looking too! (I promised him I would write that LOL). He got positive results from testing the relay and was as pleased as we were that replacing the relay (with a much higher quality one than the original btw) worked! He waited while I cleaned behind the fridge before pushing it back and waited to ensure it was getting cold. THEN, (drum roll please ....) he called later that day to follow up and see if it was still working all right! (who does that these days?!!!). His charges were very reasonable. He waives the service call charge if he does work on the unit so we only paid $225.00 in total. You cannot do better than Crest - it was worth the entire year's Angie's List fee just to find Gilbert. I hope none of my other appliances choke but if they do I am calling Gilbert immediately!

Fantastic Experience! Gilbert called when he was on his way and confirmed the time and address. He charges $68 for the service call and if he does the work, the service fee is waived. My husband had tried diagnosing the dryer on his own first (good effort), but was unable to figure it out. Unfortunately that made more work for Gilbert, but he took it in stride and got the problem fixed quickly. I just needed a new door sensor mechanism and he fixed that with an in-stock part he had with him. He was fast, fair and friendly. I would definitely recommend him.

Our washer went out late Tuesday night. I called Mr. Rubin around 9 Wednesday morning. He said he would be at our house at 1:30 that afternoon. And he was - right to the minute. He quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem, even knew the particular differences between our model and other models of the same brand. He had the part in his van, and quickly fixed the washer. Start to finish: half an hour, despite a washer design flaw and cramped quarters that made the job more difficult. Mr. Rubin is the benchmark for appliance repair. He's the first person we'll call the minute anything else breaks down. Put him at the top of your list, too.

The Crest service professional advised me first that unfortunately he didn't come to Baltimore City where my home is located. After telling me that rather than ending the conversation he asked what my problem was and after 10 minutes of me explaining it he determined that it was likely a problem with my sink rather than the washing machine! He was very helpful and professional. If he did come to my area I would be sure to use him in the future!!

Went great from calling with the problem to getting the job done. He even trouble shooted some issues over the phone that we had with our water and ice dispensor. The water and ice dispensor were not working and over the phone he narrowed it down to a blown light bulb. I took out the defective light bulb and "wa la" we had ice and water again and without charging us anything extra.

I called Crest and explained my problem. I'm sure 90% of contractors would have immediately booked the easy sale and scheduled a service call. Crest took a different approach. He spent at least ten minutes on the phone helping me look for possible simple causes of the problem. He was very concerned about avoiding an unnecessary service call where he would spend only a few seconds snapping in a cheap piece of plastic. We agreed that I would see what I could do for myself and call him back if it still wouldn't stay closed. In the end I didn't even need to order the plastic catch. Using what he taught me I was able to resolve the problem by loosening the screws that attached the door to the hinges. This added a little "play" to the mechanism and relieved the stress that was popping the door open. Thanks for the free advice.

Crest only performs services for southern Carroll co. However, Gilbert made an exception. He asked detailed questions and had the parts in case my icemaker required replacement which it did. Gilbert was prompt in responding to my e-mail inquiry and was available on my day off. I would definitely use Crest in the future.

He was helpful in explaining how I could improperly load or overload the bleach cup and actually create a leak myself--which turned out to be the cause of the issue. I had called him late the night before and he was at my house, on time, the next morning.

Gilbert was great. Very professional and efficient. I was impressed that he thought enough to make a follow-up phone call after making the repair. I would definately recommend Crest Appliance and use Gilbert again.

I called Crest and spoke with the owner, Gil. I gave him the details about the dryer and he showed up at the appointed time. He had the part ready and replaced the bad one. He also explained what the part did and how it worked with the rest of the dryer. Excellent experience and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

I called after 5pm and left a message on voice mail. Mr. Rubin called me back that night. Although I told him it was not an emergency (this was our spare fridge) he made an appointment to come out the next day. He gave me an approximate time and called 10 minutes before arriving. He came promptly. He knew within minutes what was causing the refrigerator to stay warm (the defroster unit had malfunctioned and the back of the freezer, including the coils, was caked in ice). He let me know there were two possible underlying causes. One could be fixed immediately, the other would require him to order a part. We lucked out and the problem was the one he had the part for, so he fixed the unit, confirmed it was working, and explained exactly he had done. He left the site clean. It was a great experience.

The ice-maker in my refrigerator wasn't functioning and, when engaged, was creating a wall of ice down the back of the freezer. I called Crest and they arranged to come over within 24 hours. When he arrived, Mr. Rubin solved the problem in a matter of minutes, without the need to purchase any parts. In fact, he helped me repair a crack in the customized ice bin that would have cost plenty to replace. He is cordial, competent, punctual, professional and honest. He even followed up with a call the next day to make sure everything was working correctly. I would wholeheartedly recommend him and will certainly call him again, should the need arise.

I gave theme the model number and explained the symptoms thoroughly and he and was able to explain that the transmission was blown and wouldn?t be worth coming out to look at it.
