I initially contacted Barry Gladstone and The Outdoor connection, and multiple other landscaping companies, during the early summer of 2013 to take a look at the large area on top of a retaining wall in my backyard. Apparently, my rear neighbor's yard was draining down their slope. onto my slope, causing significant run-off and falling mulch nearly every time we had a significant rainfall or snow-melt. I immediately knew we'd do business with Mr. Gladstone. He took the time to give an honest assessment of the problem, providing a detailed written estimate of the services to be performed. About 4 months later when we were ready to have the work done, I contacted Barry, and he set up a date/time to perform the work. His team arrived promptly, and got right to getting the job done. They did exactly as promised, creating an open-faced 15 foot drain with multiple drain basins. They established 2 burms, using the excavated soil, and provided 2 4" lines, emptying through an opening they created on the stone wall in my yard, which they disassembled and reassembled, with a grate at pipe opening. They were pleasant and professional. They cleaned up afterwards, and by the time I returned from work, all was complete. I will surely recommend The Outdoor Connection to others, and will not hesitate to call Barry again when we're ready for our next yard project next summer.

They were very pleasant and professional in their services. The work was done in a timely manner. The price was competitive. They went out of their way to accomodate my needs. For example, the owner went to the brickyard with me to pick out materials. They credited me for one shrub that was ordered, but not used. The worker hauled the left over soil to the back of my house. I would highly recommend their services!

This was the second time we used Barry & his team for our landscaping project. Just like the first time, the service was excellent all around. Barry responded quickly, gave me a fair price, and the workmanship was outstanding. Don't waste your time calling anyone else; these guys are the best in the business.

We recently purchased a new home that had been vacant for several years. The yard was just a mess-- severely overgrown grass and shrubs, weeds everywhere, etc. Barry and his team did a phenomenal job. The estimate was a little higher than I expected initially, but after seeing the extent and quality of their work, it actually turned out to be very reasonable. The yard looks beautiful. I am very happy with the work, and will absolutely call Barry for my next project.

I could not say enough nice things about this company and Barry. I would highly reccomend this company to my family members and friends. I am a hard person to please but I must admit that Barrys work was perfect. He did exactly what he promised and left the work area spotless when he was finished. he did a GREAT JOB.. From the work he did for me I can tell that he really cares and tries very hard to please his customers. He is 100 percent honest and professional.

They showed up on time and worked continuously. They did not waste any time and finished the job in quick amount of time. They did an excellent job and we were very satisfied. They sent out about 6 guys to do to the work and it only took 2 days to finish all of the work. We have neighbors lining up to see the work that they did and want to hire them now!

Barry Gladstone arrived as stated to assess, described process to achieve our desired outcome, and provided an accurate estimate. He was friendly and professional. His estimate was lower that we had "guesstimated" the cost. Barry called ahead to schedule and arrived as planned. He and his crew were efficient and left the site in great shape. The window wells look like they will discretely keep moisture from the house. The grading provides us with more useful backyard space. I could not be more pleased with the experience I had with Barry and his crew. He was extremely professional and reliable. He estimated that the job would take 2 weeks and completed the work a day sooner. Between 2 and 4 of his employees showed up each and every day with Barry helping them on some days. I am very particular about how I like things done and I was delighted with the way everything turned out. The retaining wall was straight and level. The paver patio was laid perfectly, matching up with an existing walkway. I can honestly say that this has been one of my best contractor experiences ever and have already recommended him to two people.

Fantastic job. Barry and his crew performed an excellent job cleaning the backyard. All the debris were removed from the site as promised. I would definitely recommend his company's services to friends and family. I will be contacting him in the future to work on revamping the backyard further.

The owner of "The Outdoor Connection" contacted me immediately after I left a message at the business. He was responsive to all my questions, spent time with me at my property discussing the work (I never felt rushed), clarified his quote to me at my request, and completed the work within the time frame estimated. I had originally also scheduled a patio to be installed. Unfortunately before the work started, I had to downsize the work originally requested, elminating the patio - this reduced the scope of work by about 50%. The company was so understanding and this did not reduce their cooperation with me at all - we re-scoped the work and continued. I am so very happy with the work that was done!

Mr. Gladstone was very good to work with from getting the estimate to doing the work promptly and well. We would gladly recommend him to friends and family.

Barry and his crew showed up for work when they said they would. They were very professional and courteous. The weather was horrible outside (hot, humid, etc.) but they still put in a full day of hard work each day until the job was done.

Added top soil - 2-3 CY, new sod. Graded and leveled areas needing attention. Workers were prompt and went right to the task without delay. Completed timely. This second or third (?) time I have used this company, always with excellent results. Highly recommend.

He's very nice, extremely polite, caring, considerately calls if he gets late. I'm really happy with him. He did a good job last year and that's why I called him again. His price was fair, did a quite extensive work in mt front lawn. The quality was excellent.

The job went great from the Outdoor Connection. We have used them before so knew we were having a quality team come fix this issue. Unfortunately, my neighbor had filled in their swayle earlier and did some other work without a permit which then created a standing water problem where our yards connected since their box drain was placed on an incline that we did not know about. Barry and his team remedied the situation by helping fix not only what I had asked him for, but the issue on the neighbors yard so I did not have to go the county and have my neighbors put their swayle back in. We have had several heavy rains since the Outdoor Connection installed these water drain pipes and we no longer have a swamp in our yard after a rain allowing us to maximize use of the space. We will be using Outdoor Connection again as we trust Barry and his team and enjoy the quality of work they do.

The Outdoor Connection team was professional and friendly from the start. Barry met with us a couple of times and communicated via phone and email. He answered our questions about the materials, project times, and any potential challenges. The team continued this same level of professionalism and courtesy throughout the project. My wife had many questions for them, which they answered fully and honestly. They worked efficiently. I understand that they've been in business many years, and it shows. Our neighbor commented that she watched them off and on throughout the project, and they impressed her with their focus on the project. The results well exceed our expectations, which were high to begin with! The sidewalk and steps are beautiful. Everything was measured precisely. It all looks great! Our neighbors have been admiring the work.

It went very well. I have actually had them do an estimate for more work and they will be coming back to do that work shortly.

Barry called me a few weeks after I left the message as he was out of town. He was very genuine and apologetic. He was also very eager to know more about what I was looking for. He scheduled me for a visit immediately and came the next day. He was prompt and very helpful. He went through a multitude of options for my project and was not afraid to give me his experienced opinion. He was not pushy and did not act like a sales man. I felt that he had a healthy respect for me and what I wanted and was willing to try and work within my constraints. He also knew the area very well and know how the terrain would handle the type of hardscaping I needed and what types of hardscape worked well in this area.

I had gotten several estimates for a patio and decided to go with Barry based on his answers to a few questions I asked during the estimate that made me feel he wasn't trying to take any shortcuts or pull something over on me. Barry gave an estimate that evening he came over I also liked the fact that Barry would be at the site each day and used a team of folks who consistently work with him. The project started August 28th and went smooth from beginning to end. Barry and his team were extremely polite, professional and thorough. My wife and son would tell me each day that I got home how polite they were and friendly. For the amount of work they had to do each day they were also pretty darn quiet as my son napped fine each day. The end result was more than what we had hoped for. It was a lot of little things Barry's team did during the project that really pushed it over the edge. I have had a deck and patio built for me before and they didn't take the time to add an extra layer of paver here or ensure the padding behind the steps was secure etc. My wife and I are already thinking of other items we want to use Outdoor Connection for down the road and our neighbors plan on calling soon as well. You won't go wrong using The Outdoor Connection.

They were fine, but I did not end up using them. They did get back to me quickly. Their prices were competitive. He was very thorough in his estimate.

Barry Gladstone, the owner, was very responsive from the time of first contact and gave me a very fair estimate for what I wanted done. He advised me that I should have some of my shrubs trimmed back, including a large holly that had suffered damage during a significant snowstorm one winter ago, and was leaning. I agreed, and again, the additional cost for this was very reasonable. Everything looks beautifully manicured, and the holly is standing straight at last!
