Nick Rivers Gutters

Nick came to our house on time, as arranged, and did a visual inspection of the job and discussed our options with me. He was punctual and personable and our exchange was enjoyable and completely professional. He explained the necessary work to me thoroughly and also explained his preference for using/keeping whatever good and solid materials were in place on the job, a policy which appealed to me greatly for its conscientious and deliberate attempt to mitigate unnecessary waste. He took measurements, created an estimate and we scheduled the job. Two days later (because of an opening in his schedule that allowed us to move my day up), he and a helper were here, again on time and ready to begin work. Two gutters were replaced, old, existing gutters were sealed and tightened, all gutters were cleaned, and all debris was efficiently removed form the job site. When a week of rain came shortly thereafter, I was very happy to see the vast improvement in the function of my entire gutter system - a job extremely well done at a very reasonable cost. Without a single reservation, I would gladly recommend Nick's Gutters - for every aspect of the work they did on our house.

Nick came out to look at house to determine type of cover needed to best suit our needs. He came out the week before and arrived on time. The work was completed 5 days later as agreed upon. The following describes experience, good workmanship, good follow up, likes what he does, and pleasant to work with.

I found this company on Angie's List yesterday; called and the job was done, complete with 21 "before and after" photos. The guys left the bag of debris from the gutters in a bag at the end of the driveway, in a convenient place for trash pick-up. This was one of the quickest and easiest arrangements for work that we have ever experienced. No sales job on gutter guards; just a professional transaction and really good cleaning job.

I became aware of Nick via his listing here and left a request on his website. Once he got back from vacation he followed up leaving me a message, indicating that they were catching up through the weekend. I talked with him on Saturday, and he came out the very next morning and set about dealing with my 90 feet of gutters that had been left far too long without attention. He removed (at my request) the old rusted screens that were masquerading as gutter covers, but which ultimately were causing more harm than good, and pulled out at least two trash bags worth of debris that was clogging up things. Even though I hadn't originally mentioned Angie's list on the telephone, I did as we were chatting and he gave me the discount I would have received if I had mentioned it when originally setting up the appointment... so the price I paid was lower than he had originally quoted over the phone. Because I had procrastinated so long in finding someone to perform my gutter maintenance I was half expecting that some damage had accumulated that would require extra work, but Nick went about fixing the little things he found as he went (a nail here, a deformation there, resetting the pitch along the way) and told me that everything should be back to full functionality now... all for the basic price of the cleaning. I don't doubt that most other contractors would have only recommended that the gutters be replaced, but NIck was upfront in letting me know that was not needed. Quality work at a fair price; no BS or upsell pressure. I will be happy to use Nick for regular maintenance in the future.

Mr. River arrived at my house four hours after I called him, examined the gutter, defined the problems (virtually every mistake that could have been made had been made when this gutter was hung), did a temporary fix and promised to return in two days (as that was when his schedule permitted) to replace the entire gutter. That evening there was another deluge. I hurried to the house the next morning. Everything was bone dry. Later in the morning I discovered Mr. River installing the new gutter; he'd had a cancellation and was concerned that my house be properly protected.

Called them on Friday and they came out the next Monday. They clean out the gutter of all trash and tighten everything up. To show the work done they provided digital photos of the gutters before work and after.

I was happy with it. I contacted him on a Friday and he came the following Monday before another appoint he had scheduled in the same area. He did the inspection and found that there wasn’t a lot to do, so he cleaned the gutters. He left us with some recommendations about things that he saw while he was cleaning the gutters. He charged us the same price he quoted.

Top notch job from start to finish. Owner of the company, Nick Rivers, performed the estimate within a day of calling for an appointment. They did a nice job cleaning the gutters (they email before and after pictures to show quality of work), but I was more interested in having gutter guards installed. We have several large popular trees around the house that clog the gutters in both the spring and the fall. I was impressed that Nick offered 7 types of gutter guards, and went into detail outlining the pros and cons of each one based on his experiences with each. Our house is new, so he pointed out that certain types which install fully under the shingles may void roof warranties. I didn't feel pressured to choose one over the other, and he installed all of them for the same price no matter which one we selected. We went with his recommendation to use Leaf Guard because he felt it was the best fit for our situation. So far so good. The guards are working as advertised and they did a great job installing them -- work completed in 1 day and no mess left behind. While I don't have any illusions that this leaf guard system will last forever without any problems (all the ones I have had in the past eventually required some maintenance), I am happy with Nicks 2 year guarantee, and his reduced rate for any service calls after the 2 year warranty.

It went really well. I had called the week before about our problem and Nick was able to price the repair for me over the phone. I called him back on Monday to go ahead and schedule the job to be done. He was in the area and able to do the job that day. He left an invoice on the door and was very efficient. Now we just need to wait for the first rain, but they appear to in good repair.

What can I say? They were wonderful. After years of frustration with unprofessional work around the house, it was very refreshing to work with a company like Nick Rivers that did what they said they would, when they said they would and with excellent quality!

I had a little water leak into my basement from a couple of heavy rains. I saw water pouring from the roof. I got Nick Rivers from Angie's list. I asked to the top gutters to be cleaned. When he cleaned them, he said there was not much to be cleaned, there was one clogged gutter and that was the problem one. He cleaned the rest of the gutters for no extra charge. The nice thing was he took before and after shots of the gutters and you could view them from the internet. A very professional and great job.

Excellent work. Will use this company again.

I called Nick on June 30th after viewing excellent reports on Angie's List. He came out the next day, cleaned the gutters, emailed me "before" and "after" photos, and left a small bag of trash at my curb where the trash men picked it up the next day. Nick was very responsive and professional on the phone. I was extremely pleased with the quick service and the low price (which included an Angie's list discount). I will use this company twice a year from now on and not risk my life climbing ladders to do it myself.

Work went extremely well from the initial phone call to Nick to receipt of the photos after the job was completed.

I called the Thursday before I decided to have the work completed and left a message. Message was returned same day and an estimate was given. I called back on Monday and asked how soon they could come out to do the work. Was told Wednesday. I arrived home on Tuesday to find an invoice hanging on my door (for the amount I was quoted over the phone). They were able to send someone out a day sooner than expected. Plus I received before and after pictures to prove the work was done (I wasn't home when the work was done). I was thoroughly impressed and would highly recommend them again!

Called and was given an estimate after having answered some basic questions about my house. Nick apologised that I would have to wait a few days before the work could be done - I presume because I live in the city. This was not a problem for me and he came on the third working day after I had called. Got home and would not have known they had been here except for the garbage bag full of debris! The next day looked at the before and after pictures of the gutters he emailed and they looked as if they had just been put up. My only quibble about the service was that the gutter on the garage was not cleaned out to the standard of the house and I had hoped the garage roof would have been cleaned off also.

I have had only two experiences with this company thus far (ie. gutter cleaning and gutter cover installation). Both experiences have however been very positive. This company seems to be professionally run: they come on time, respond to emails/voicemails on the same day, and do professional work. The 10% off Angie's List discount was very much appreciated as well. I also like that they examine the roof and fascia for damage as part of their service and especially that they take before and after pictures of their work and email them to you. I would recommend this company and will use them in future for my gutter maintenance needs.

Our front gutter had been overflowing into the front yard during every rain storm. I called on a Monday and they were there on Wednesday. They came out, cleaned and flushed the gutters, and also repaired a section where the gutter was loose from the house. The whole cleaning took roughly 30-40 minutes. They were very professional and friendly. I especially appreciated two things. First, they showed me (and then emailed me) before and after photos of the gutters, so you could actually see what they had done. Second, they were very honest about how frequently I needed to clean my gutters (every few years as opposed to every six months) - as opposed to trying to get me to do this more than I needed to or upsell me on something I didn't need. I was very pleased and would recommend them to anyone.

They came out the very next day and did an outstanding job. This is an excellent service, especially since the back of my house is nearly 30 feet in the air. I highly recommend this service. They took pictures of the before and after for the gutters.

Extremely well. He came out early, answered all questions I had, and went beyond just cleaning the gutters. The additional items noted were over and above his job and he didn't even charge me.

Very Responsive - Came out next day to complete the work. Very professional and courteous - work was perfomed with quality and care. When I noticed a gutter nail that was detatched (had been that way prior to their work) . . . I called and they came back the next day to replace it with a 'hanger' (which is superior vs. a nail) at no charge. I put them on file to come next year as well !
