This was my second time using Chesapeake Plumbing and both times I was extremely pleased. The price is reasonable, it was easy to get an appointment, everyone is very friendly and overall a very pleasant company to work with.

Courteous and effective service, like we've come to expect from Chesapeake Plumbing.

The owner, Paul Kingston, came out to do the initial estimate. I need repair or replacement of an existing copper line to the outside hose bibs that had frozen and burst at a ball valve the previous winter. I had tried to repair it myself with disastrous results. Paul suggested using Uponor PEX pipe which is much more resistant to freeze-breakage than copper or rigid plastic pipe. He also suggested adding a drain valve so that I could empty the line during the winter. A few days later they sent me an estimate which I found reasonable and they were able to schedule the work for the following week. Keith and Kyle arrived right on time. I walked them through the project and they got right to work. The job seemed nicely done and they demonstrated that everything worked as requested. When they were done they cleaned up all their supplies and debris. They didn't put everything back in position in the basement workshop where they had been working inside. OK so they didn't know where everything should go, I'll grant you, but the portable work bench is probably not stored in the doorway. My only very minor complaint about that portion of the job. The other action was "to obtain measurements from county mapping to approximate sewer cleanout location." Keith came to the door about a half hour later to ask me to look at something. He took me to a small hole, one of several, next to the driveway about halfway between the house and the street. He said there were a lot roots in the soil, not surprising considering the size of the oak tree next to the driveway. Anyway, while he was searching for the clean out and trying to get through the roots he severed the FIOS cable line. He admitted it was totally his fault and that the Chesapeake Plumbing would pay for the repairs. When he gave me the invoice he provided a number with the county for me to call and they would provide the location of the sewer clean-out. Stuff happens. Chesapeake made good on the promise to pay for the repairs. I told the Verizon tech what had happened and he asked for the plumber's address. Verizon sent all the repair bills directly the Chesapeake Plumbing and I haven't heard anything about it since. My frustration with the situation comes on two points. 1. It was obvious from the MULTIPLE holes in the yard that Keith did not have information from the county on the location of the clean out, even though this is what Chesapeake had contracted to do. 2. Even as, I assume, a journeyman plumber he shouldn't have been digging for the clean out, which should be close to main sewer line and demarcating the county's line of responsibility, halfway up my yard. I may use Chesapeake Plumbing again, but with more wariness and watchfulness.

Ron was grant, very professional, thorough worked on new year's eve.

Everything went well until billing time. Technician was courteous, polite, and knowledgeable. I called at 10 AM, they had the technician at my house by 1 PM. Took less than 20 minutes to correct the problem.Time at the house was about 1/2 hour and I was charged $270. $150 for the visit and $120 for the snaking of the drain. These charges are excessive and leave a bitter experience in my mind. I will not use them again. The scheduler asked if I wanted an immediate response, and I said sort of. No mention of fees for quick response so shame on me for not asking in advance. It does appear by the bill breakdown that they did not charge for expedited service so I would say these prices are their normal charges that are just excessively high.

I am very pleased with the service I received from Chesapeake Plumbing! I called them the week of Christmas because I found water in the cabinet under my kitchen sink, and I suspected my garbage disposal needed replacement. They were scheduling a couple of days out, so I made an appointment. However, since I had someone at home who could handle giving access to a technician, the receptionist asked if I wanted to be called if an appointment opened up earlier. I said yes, and a few minutes later I got a call back saying there was an opening. The technician arrived at my house later that day, and replaced my garbage disposal and some pipe below my kitchen sink. He left the bill and I was able to call the receptionist back the next day to pay. The cost was $335, which I think is reasonable.

Ended up costing 3.5 times more than initial order. Parts replaced before I could blink and wasn't given an estimate, despite asking twice how things were looking and was there a diagnosis yet. When I called manager to notify him of this, he was very defensive and made a lot of excuses. Said he would call back again after checking facts with technician and never did.

They were excellent, period. Communication was good, showed up on time, did a fast job, cleaned up after themselves.

Company was very responsive. Technician (Junior) called to let me know he was on the way. Job completed timely and done well.

Service rep called about 745 AM to make sure it was ok if he came over then. He spent about an hour doing a major rework of the drain line for a downstairs sink and replacing the drain mechanism for the sink. Price was very reasonable, much lower then other plumbers I have used for similar work and work was well done. Will definitely use again.

I notified the company of my sewage emergency, and explained that my main sewage drain was blocked. I'm made aware that the Angie's List coupon will not cover the drain snake rental fee, but that I can use it for the labor. I'm ok with that. Their response time was perfectly acceptable. The plumber who responded operated almost like a robot. Very dry, monotone, and impersonal. He sat in my basement snaking our clogged main drain with a standard drain snake for nearly two hours, without success. Now, I'm no plumbing expert, but to think that a company would send someone with a generic drain snake for a 4 inch sewage main block screamed 'unprepared.' After that time, he decided to tell me that it was the county's problem, and that he couldn't help me, but that if the county says otherwise, that I could call him back. Worst case scenario, he would have to get a 2-person 'industrial' drain snake, but that I would have to pay an additional rental fee. Why wasn't I offered this option to begin with? I could have just had them bring the larger snake to begin with, and our whole problem would have been solved much more efficiently! Additionally, why wouldn't you, being the professionals, bring the heavy artillery to begin with, considering the circumstances? Next, I place a call to the county to have them come take a look at their cleanout. If anyone has ever tried to get the county to respond to an issue, you can imagine my level of anxiety while I attempt to work through the phone tree to reach someone in hopes of having the county respond within a reasonable amount of time, all the while sloshing through sewage spread throughout my finished basement. To my astonishment, they responded within 45 minutes. The county employee was much more personable, helpful, and took the time to explain what was going on. He even showed me a live feed of his camera in my sewage main, and explained that because his end was dry, the problem was interior, thus not the county's responsibility. Back to square one. I immediately call Chesapeake back to let them know that this was, in fact, not a county issue, and that I would need someone back out to rectify the matter. I'm told that they can schedule me for first thing the next morning. NO. My home is filled with RAW SEWAGE, and you should have been prepared the FIRST time you came. Someone needs to be out TODAY. I'm assured a call back. Within a few minutes, I receive a call from the original plumber who indicates that he will return, but that I will be charged for two people, as well as the industrial drain snake. A couple hours later, Plumber #2 (MUCH more personable, relatable, and helpful) shows up with the 'industrial' drain snake, waits in my front yard for person #1 to show up. Once the original plumber shows up a few minutes behind him, #2 heads into the basement with the drain snake ALONE, and proceeds to snake the drain WITHOUT ASSISTANCE (but wait, I thought it required two people?) within TWO MINUTES, while plumber #1 saunters around my front yard. Hallelujah! Until I had to pay again. Poor business practice. Very poor. I would not recommend them.

On time, courteous, cleaned up after, price was fair

The repair has been successful and we no longer have a leak around the base of the toilet. This is the third time I have had the company out and will probably be calling them in the near future for a problem that was discovered when we had a new washing machine installed.

Chesapeake Plumbing was prompt and came 30 minutes after I called in a panic, since there was an electrical issue with the heater. They replaced the same day. Very professional crew for all of it.

Fantastic. We were lucky and caught the leak very quickly. I called and Amanda immediately dispatched help and they were at our house in 10 minutes! Phew! John was very professional and quickly called backup to bring an extra part for a leaky pipe. Two technicians quickly worked on our system and made it better than before with brass instead of copper. Very fair price and worth the quick response and quality work! While here they checked out our hot water heater for free and said it was a-okay. Thanks again and thanks for saving a basement catastrophe.

The plumber was on time. Cleaned up when he was done.

The service was fantastic like the other visits. They replaced a shower head in one bathroom along with a new shower head set for the other bathroom. Keith came in, took his time, made sure the job was done right and I was completely satisfied before he left. Will use again.

Everything went well; from setting up to the appointment to getting the job done. All parties were professional and courteous. Will use this company again

Amazing - I asked them to repair my water heater - they called me back to tell me it was under warranty. They actually referred me to another company - as the parts and labor would be covered by a certified Rheem warranty company. It is very impressive they referred me to someone else - so I could save money. Chesapeake will have all of my plumbing jobs in the future - and I will certainly tell others about them.

It was great. Our plumber fixed the problems without any problems whatsoever. Moreover, he noticed that our sump pump was burned out and advised us to get it replaced which I did. The next week, we got about 4 inches of rain. Could not be any happier.

Efficient,professional, - the job took more than the Angie's offer, which I anticipated yet with "deal" and normal rate - the plumber and this company is a highly recommend.

I was told by a handyman that I needed the basement sealed as one of the walls had a damp spot that would not go away after the he had fixed a small leak. After speaking with the basement sealer folks, (See my review on AA Action) it was determined I needed a plumber. Via Angie's List, I chose Chesapeake Plumbing to do the repair. The inspector (John, I think) was polite, efficient and very knowledgeable. They fixed the leak pronto and later discovered they had overcharged me by $19.00 and gave me a refund. Check that out! Love it. My hat's off to Chesapeake. They are now in my favorites list, and will be the first company I call when a plumber is needed. When you find a good, honest, and reliable company - that's the company you keep for life. What did we ever do before Angie's List?

Our family arrived back home from a 2 week vacation to find our basement flooded. Due to the heavy rain our sump pump had burned out. We called Chesapeake Plumbing Inc., John came out the same day and installed a new sump pump

Through no fault of Chesapeake Plumbing (CP), the original job of installing a new mainline from the meter into the house was fraught with complications and increased costs. A one day plumbing job turned into three full days of excavators and jackhammering of a big chunk of my driveway. The whole thing has been a bit of a nightmare. All things being equal i wish I didnt have to pay so much but CP did have some mercy on me and did not charge me the usual "overtime" charges for having their team here most of the day Saturday. CP also pointed me to a Mason (Jeff Nelson Masonry LLC) after I had trouble getting cement contractors to respond to my semi-small job of repairing my driveway and the area around the water meter. CP was responsive and professional and did an excellent job. I will be calling on them in the future for any plumbing needs.

Our plumber was within the time slot! Since to get to our kitchen it was necessary to walk over carpeting, he removed his shoes, which was very considerate.
