My fault that I didn't discuss price first. My daughter and I took pipes apart, cleaned them out and determined the clog was in the wall. Two guys were here an hour and a half and finally broke through the clog with a snake and shop vac. My "sticker shock" comes from the fact that my husband, when he was able, did all the maintenance in the house.... In the tiny space there was to work in, I'm not sure why two people were needed when one could barely fit. I do know that I was charged full for mechanic AND helper. I will do my research before hiring another contractor. Glad to have a free running drain.

Seemed to go well at first. I was contacted about estimate and Paul came out within a few days (1/25/21). He was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. when describing what the job would require. Paul said he would "get back to me" in about a week with the estimate. I was busy and the job was not urgent, so I didn't pursue the missing estimate for several weeks. On 2/25, I called the office regarding the estimate and was told that someone would call me back-didn't receive call or email. On 2/26, I called again and spoke to the same staff member who again told me that someone would get back to me-I never heard back. These incidences were a red flag to me, especially for an expensive job, so I decided not to pursue. Disappointing experience with a company with such good reviews.

Everything went well, but the toilet is still running.

There was a sudden leak out that showed up as dripping water from my family room ceiling with the master shower located immediately above it. I called around and other plumbers were too busy and wouldn't be able to send someone out for days. I called Chesapeake and they were amazing. They rearranged their schedule to fit me me in that day, like within 1 hour of me calling. The plumber arrived on time in the window given to me, diagnosed the source of the leak immediately, and cut only a small hole of drywall out to fix it. It wound up being a quick job and they charged me the minimum. I had a great experience and would definitely hire again.

I spoke with Amanda at Chesapeake Plumbing who quoted me $150 per hour and a flat fee of $125 after the hour. The plumber arrived and used a snake to try and clear the toilet. The snake he used was roughly the same size snake that I own and used to try to clear the clog myself. He took his snake to his van dripping waste water on my carpets. Upon returning he asked questions about my plumbing. i told him we use a septic system. He declared that the septic tank was the issue and said that I needed to pay him $150. I let him know that it was $150 per hour and that he had been there for roughly 10 minutes to which he responded that 6 minutes or 60 it's $150. I called Beall & Son's, (HIGHLY RECOMMEND). They handle septic and plumbing. It wasn't my septic system. I had a clog in the main line. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH CHESAPEAKE PLUMBING!

Chesapeake Plumbing was outstanding. They were able to assess the problem (correctly) after only being on site for a few minutes. The main hot water pipe had a leak which was over the AC unit in a very difficult place. Pipe was replaced, cured, and the area cleaned with in a short period of time. They were professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and dedicated. I will continue to use them in the future as needed.

The plumber was on time and quickly determined what needed to be done. He was great to deal with and got our faucets fixed. We always use Chesapeake Plumbing for our plumbing needs.

So far, so great. We're sticking with Chesapeake Plumbing. The previous work was done quickly and efficiently. The current work is taking a little longer only because we followed the tech's advice on how to save some money regarding repairs, and just need to work out scheduling.

My garbage disposal started leaking late on a Friday afternoon. The plumber was able to come out and quickly replace it for a very reasonable price. Will definitely hire again.

Chesapeake Plumbing was excellent. We had a completely clogged bathroom sink and called in the morning. Amanda scheduled a technician to our home within four hours. John was great, he called before he arrived and was very punctual. He was professional, friendly and very helpful. The clog was a challenge, but he managed to fix it in under an hour and cleaned up after. We felt the pricing was very fair and will only use Chesapeake Plumbing for any future needs. Strongly recommend their services.

Chesapeake in general, and Ryan in specific, were fantastic. From the fast response to the reasonable rates; from the upfront and frank discussion of rates and probable overall costs to ensuring that the work was 100% finished (and everything cleaner than before), Ryan was outstanding. He replaced two faucets, several valves, and a showerhead -- and ensured that all further work will be easily done.

The experience with Chesapeake Plumbing was easy and direct from the initial phone call. Russell arrived on time, was friendly and informative. He told me exactly what he found for the kitchen sink and the price of labor and snaking the drain. He worked on all jobs and did a great job.

John Z. is absolutely Z-Best plumber!!! He arrived early, as requested, and was ready to drain and remove the old water heater and had a new one for installation. He worked quickly and cleaned up the mess as he worked. When time came for us to leave for an already scheduled appointment, John agreed to stay to finish up and lock up the house. I find him to be honest ("that needs replacement, Mrs. Courtney") and completely trustworthy. He's a professional, he knows the plumbing system in this house, and I trust his judgment. John Z. is a gem of a technician!!

I called in the morning because I had a pipe leaking at my office that looked like it could burst. John came by within 15 minutes to diagnosis the issue and had it completely fixed by that same afternoon! Furthermore I thought the price was very fair. John was extremely friendly and professional and I would highly recommend him and this company to anyone looking for great plumbing service.

It went extremely well. I only discovered the problem shortly after breakfast. I placed a call to Chesapeake Plumbing after 9 am, and they had a plumber to my place by 11. He replaced the garbage disposal efficiently, and everything is working well. That was impressive responsiveness!

The plumber came the next day, but failed to cover the floor. As a result, he tracked sewage throughout the basement carpet. Bottles in the bathroom had sewage on them. I felt that the charge was expensive, especially considering the performance. He had to snake the line to the septic tank.

Worker was great, efficient and fast. I will never hire again due to billing. Your a plumbing service and over half of the bill was some absurd “snake” fee? A doctor doesn’t charge a fee to use their stethascope, a lawyer doesn’t charge a separate fee for communications to a court. These are expected expenditures of the job, tools needed to accomplish work, not extra and unknown fees in advance.

I've had this done in the past and it has never cost me $255! Most was $200. Right after I had this done Horizon advertised the same service for $99 and so did Acme. The company was very nice but I don't want to pay "Gibson Island" prices.

As always, late in the evening on a Sunday.... the water heater decides to rupture, not a mere leak around the heating elements either which is a DIY job; and I'm leaving for a business trip on Monday Eve! I start calling, then web searching. Fill out Chesapeake's web form and I get a response within the hour to my email address... ON A SUNDAY Night! Next morning, follow up by phone, give the model and serial number; told they can fit me in and replace the unit in the early afternoon. Got a ballpark quote over the phone I was okay with. John arrives, early afternoon as expected. Introduces himself, friendly and personable, checks the job and gets to work. Doesn't waste time, has no issue with me being nosey and watching how he does the job, I'm renting, if not for that, I would have done the job myself. He's very good, watched him eyeball the copper pipes, cut to length and he's spot on... then I rather enjoyed watching how he sweated the copper for the solder... very nice job, clean and not sloppy. The man's a pro, I admire professional work. No wasted effort, no re-dos, and he replaced the shoddy looking valve joints put in by the previous installer. (I did introduce him to a new tool for slugging metal plates for electrical wiring he'd never seen before, which he'll now be adding to his toolkit, it's much better than hole saws. Glad I could help, just a little. LOL) My point though is that it was a very professional job, painless, complete with good conversation, and he even provided tips to me during the job in case I have to do it myself in the future. I'm not going to be specific about how long the job took, but it was fast and efficient, his billing was accurate and under the phone quote. Yes, I tipped him, which is not something I usually do. Summary: Chesapeake Plumbing, Inc. was professional, responded quickly and after hours, charged reasonable rates and were under the quote. They also didn't replace the unit with some cheap *** big box store brand water heater and jack up the unit price for maximum profit. It was a nicer AO Smith Residential Water Heater, not the most expensive highest end unit, and not the cheapest low-end either... a good sturdy workhorse unit with good brand reputation IMO. I'm very pleased with the experience, people and equipment. If I wasn't renting this place, I'd have done it myself because I'm more of a DIY guy, but in this case, it was nice to let a professional do it and get it done far quicker than I could have done. I will do business with them again if I need plumbing work, highly recommended.
