Able Well & Pump Service

Owner diagnosed and fixed and fixed the problem quickly. He took time to explain how my system worked and explained what he did to fix it. I am very satisfied with Able Well and Pump Service and would use them again. Highly recommended.

I have a deep well 1968 jet pump (220 volt). It sits in the basement instead of at the bottom of the well (as with newer, shallow wells). My well pump was cycling too quickly, then not turning on at all. Able Well & Pump service came within two days of my calling them. They had asked for details of the pump behavior, make, model, over the phone. Able arrived, adjusted the pressure in the holding tank, cleaned and replaced some parts on the relay switch, and got the jet pump running properly again. Relay switch was burning out due to rapid pump cycling. Price was reasonable for the amount of time, type of work, and parts. Able is searching for a replacement jet pump. These pumps and their parts are VERY expensive. Try and by a part for your 1966 Mustang convertible. Able said they will give me a price, and I can weigh that against drilling a new, shallower well. I live in Chesapeake Beach on a hill overlooking the Bay (hence, need a deep well). The deep well water is perfect and sweet (from the blue clay layer). Able are EXPERTS at jet pumps. If you have a jet pump, do not call anyone else. Tom is nice and worked until 8pm without charging extra. John J.

They would not quote prices for work that they were going to do until after they had already done the work. Then I got a surprise $3400 bill at the end...what could I do but pay it since the work was already done. Mine was a special situation because they had to dig to release the pitless adapter but a cost was never given me before they actually did the work. I would have stopped then and got another quote but they said nothing till the work was already done.

We lost water to our home without any warning late on a Friday evening the week before Christmas. I called several companies looking for emergency service. Tom from Able Well & Pump Service turned out to be the most responsive and capable. Tom returned my call within an hour or so on Friday evening. He was already working on a job in another part of the state that evening, yet assured me he could come out to address my issue the next day. We can not express just how much we appreciated Tom's commitment to restoring service to our home. I am sure that was no easy task given the timing of our event. Tom worked diligently on Saturday morning to make sure he could secure every part he could possibly need to restore water service before coming out to our home. Tom and Mike showed up on Saturday evening and were professional, knowledgeable, responsive, prepared, capable, and fair. It is hard to find qualified professionals with integrity, but we have found the team at Able Well & Pump Service to meet this criteria and will be calling them for any future well needs.

Came the next day but called to explain why. Fixed the problem that same night. Found out they did the original well over 20yr ago.

They wern'the able to come out when first contact but arrived late the next day but did call and explain. After checking the problem knew exactly what the problem was and fixed it that same night.the cost was much lower than another company quote.Also discover they did the original well over 20yr ago.

Both men were very polite. They knew what they were doing. They didn't give up on the problem until they solved it. I later had a problem with my washing machine due to no cold water coming in. I called Able and they said they would be by to fix it and they came as they said they would and my washing machine is working good as new. I would highly recommend this company.

Tom Able was very knowledgeable. Him and his assistant have over 100 years of experience between them both!

They were technically proficient and got us up with water but I was floored when they gave me their bill. It was over $1,000 just for the labor and they were to put the $150 trip charge towards the cost which they didn't. They were to contact me with a price to replace a tank and we never heard back from them. We have had a similar problem replacing a foot valve with about one third the cost of what we were charged.

They responded after hours as promised and corrected the problem. I had expected a huge bill and possible well pump replacement but they found the problem was much less involved fixed it and had us with water again. Very good service.

They were easy to work with. I felt very comfortable with them. They were informative giving me options explaining everything thoroughly. They had everything they needed on their truck.

Very helpful getting me in to a condition supplying water until they could get to me.

I was very pleased with the work they performed. They came out the same day. They obviously knew what they were doing, provided excellent explanations of work they were performing, and pointed out what may be needed in the future as the well is 40 years old and not very deep. They didn't push to do anything beyond what was needed to resolve the problem. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Able.
