Gray Manna provided a fairly-priced estimate for the installation of the new wall. It matched another estimate from a local handyman and his team could start sooner. He came to look at the roof rafter situation and suggested a time & materials costing arrangement, which was reasonable since there were too many unknowns. He had to coordinate with the contractor who was installing the air handlers in the attic. The dry wall work was done carefully and neatly and the door was hung, as requested. I thought it unusual to put three coats of spackling, requiring a separate trip to the house for each new coat, and a final trip for the sanding. They also repaired a cracked ceiling (separate bill sent to AC contractor) and put finishing touches on the ceiling where a light had been removed. The rafter removal went smoothly, working together with the AC contractor. We were not charged for the time Gray's team had to wait for them to put the new air handler into place. Gray inspected the work each day and during his visits we discussed other work that needed to be done. We would definitely recommend Manna Bros. for any similar work.
Description of Work: Erected partition wall in lower level. Wall was standard drywall construction and was framed for door. Door with locking knob was installed. Dry wall was taped, spackled (three times) and sanded, ready for painting. As part of the same job, removed roof rafter that was preventing replacement of air handler in attic. Shored up roof and installed removable rafter, after air handler was placed in position.

Many thanks for your positive review of our company and your recommendation of our services. We appreciate you noting the length of time devoted to finishing the drywall in your basement. At Manna Bros., we prefer to provide a level three finish (tape coat, block coat and skim coat) on our finished drywall installs. Doing so requires the joint compound to dry completely before another layer can be applied, resulting in several visits. It can be a time consuming process; however, the end result is well worth the extra time and always leaves a very satisfied homeowner.
This is the second time we've hired Gray Manna for a major remodel job. The first was a year and half ago, when he gutted and installed our new kitchen and eating area. When we decided to hire someone to finish our basement, there was no question who we would call. Gray consulted with my husband and me about what we wanted and suggested a few modifications, which we agreed with. Gray and his crew did all the heavy lifting in terms of finishing the framing, drywalling, and installing all the electrical work in the basement. He also framed in and installed the plumbing for the bathroom. The builder rough in was poorly laid out. Gray dug up the concrete and moved the plumbing so that the placement of toilet, sink, and shower made sense. He also moved the radon unit to create more useable space. Once again, Gray delivered to my husband's and my high standards. Everything is ready for us to paint and tile now. If you want someone who will do the job right the first time and who you can trust to have in your home, even when you're not home, Manna Bros Home Improvement will be the right choice for you.
Description of Work: Manna Brothers finished our basement out to ready to prime dry wall and ready to install sink/toilet/shower tile bathroom. They finished framing the basement and framed in a batheroom, drywalled everything, did the electrical (outlet, lights, prep for mounted tv), plumbing, and installed three closets. The bathroom plumbing included digging up the concrete to move poorly placed rough-in to a more friendly layout.

We found Manna Brothers on Angie's List. Given the intense light in the room, we wanted to make certain that no remnants of the prior moulding were visible. To do the job correctly, Brian came back several times to sand the prior application of spackling and gradually smooth the surface. The owner, Gray Manna, stayed in frequent contact with us to let us know what was happening. He's a very good communicator. I highly recommend them for remodeling and drywall needs.

I had the best experience working with Manna Bros and would highly recommend them to anyone who is interested in a remodeling job. Of all the contractors I called, and got estimates for, Manna Bros. was the only one who was willing to work with me in dividing up the work responsibilities of our basement remodeling project. I've done a bit of research and had an idea of how I wanted to basement to be constructed. Many contractors had their own opinion and tried to tell me that I was overbuilding it, or what I envisioned was unnecessary. I love a quality build when it comes to the foundation of a building and it was a breath of fresh air to come across Manna Bros who just listened, and was willing make my vision come to fruition. The attention to detail was superb. I felt there was a partnership during our renovation and a professional attitude at every stage. The jobs I performed were the foundation insulation, waterproofing, wiring (TV, stereo, and ethernet), color paint, and flooring. Manna Bros. did the rest (see above). During the build my daughter wanted the space under the stairs as a play area which originally was just going to be used for storage. I mentioned this to Gray (the owner) and he went out of his way and made a customized door, and trim, for the entrance which really looked professional. My daughter had a blast painting it. I also wanted to acknowledge Brian who did the tile in the bathroom where everything seemed to be aligned with a laser, the drywall guys who also did an exceptional job (I despise doing drywall!), and to the plumbers who within two days, moved some drains, and plumbed everything to the bathroom. I was a bit hesitant to drop some more money into another membership, but Angie's List has paid for itself many times over. For anyone who gets nervous about just selecting some random contractor in the yellow pages (that's me), Angie's List is the place to go.
Description of Work: Framed entire basement, finished 2 rooms and a 3/4 bathroom. Jobs included framing, drywall, plumbing (incl moving rough-ins), tile and electrical. Job length 2 weeks.

We had been working on our basement for several months and the day came that we realized that we had not correctly mudded and sanded the drywall. When we painted the problems became obvious. For medical reasons we could not rework the walls and lay the subflooring and floors as we had planned. We needed someone who could repair our walls and complete the work. We found Manna Brothers name on Angies list and called them. They responded quickly. My husband showed Gray the basement and explained our desire to have the job done by the end of June. This was the week after Memorial Day. Gray assured us that he could fit the work in if we would be agreeable to having his team come on weekends. His estimate was very reasonable and we decided to award him the contract over competitors. During the course of the work we realized that there was a miscommunication about what we wanted done to the walls. We asked Gray if he could do some additional work on the walls and also to include the windows: He was extremely flexible and agreed to do the extra work for just $400. which we thought was extremely reasonable. Whenever we talked to him or his team we felt that they understood what we needed. They were polite, professional and a pleasure to work with. The job was completed by June 25 which exceeded our expectations. Since the work has been done we have received nothing but compliments on the way the basement looks. We would definitely hire Manna Brothers again and recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: 1. redo mudding on drywall that had been done incorrectly in basement family room (400 sq.feet) and stairway to first floor2. drywall inside casing of two basement windows 3. replace sill on third window in basement4. paint the entire basement family room and stairway 5. painted the ceiling.6. install subfloor and laminate flooring in the family room7. install custom door sills to laundry room and work room

Much gratitude for your recommendation of our services. Manna Bros. makes every effort to deliver an exceptional end product to our clients and we are delighted to know we achieved this goal with regard to your drywall and paint projects. It is wonderful to hear that our work is garnering compliments from your family and friends. We hope to have the opportunity to work with you again in the future.
We were very happy with the services Manna Bros provided. Gray was very responsive to questions before and during the work. He took time to explain everything to us and walk us through the process. It was clear from the start that he and his crew were goign to do things properly. That was reflected in the price which was high but appropriate for the amount of work that needed to be done. We had had another quote from a different company that clearly was a huge underestimate of the necessary work. The work we needed was complex and required a team of specialists. Gray was there throughout the 3 days of work. There was a 6-man team working on removing and correctly reinstalling our windows and cutting the wall to install a french door between two interior rooms. All the team were courteous. Several team members happily explained their techniques to me and I even got a lesson in drywall repair! The windows look fantastic. We have a bunch more work needed in our new house and we will definitely be calling Manna Bros back to work with us.
Description of Work: Assess the reason for mold build up on the inside of the windows throughout the house and repair, replacing all sills and removing and reinstalling the windows correctly for 19 windows. Cutting a doorway between two internal rooms and fitting a french door.
Gray Manna, the owner, came and gave us a detailed estimate. I provided him with google sketchup drawings and he provided us a detailed, professional written estimate. He had the highest estimate, but he impressed us with his professionalism and was able to start the soonest. First let me talk about Gray and his crew. All of the crew members were very professional. When you meet each crew member, he will look you in the eye and politely introduce himself, ask for the best way to access the space that day, and promptly get to work. These guys are here to do work, not any shenanigans, and we were very confident that there would be no problem having them with unescorted access to our home. (And true enough, there were no problems). The work started with the framing of the new bedroom. Gray encouraged us to inspect the work along the way and at the framing was very high quality. There was initially some confusion where Gray used a standard sized closet, and I hadn't noted that I wanted a reduced size closet clearly on the diagram of the work I had drawn for him. Gray was able to make a slight change to move the doorway about an inch to mitigate the issue at no additional cost. The electrical work very went well overall. Gray requested that we put the 3-way light switch on the wall opposite the bedroom rather than on the bedroom wall as originally requested to avoid doing some demolition, and we went along with this since the work had been going so well, and the solution was fine with us. Also one of the new outlets was on the bedroom-facing side of the room instead of the basement-facing side of the wall as we had expected. I told Gray to just flip it around but instead he had a whole new outlet added at no additional cost. I definitely appreciated the commitment to our satisfaction here. Next came the drywall and painting which was done by a different crew. Frankly, the first attempt was a disaster (which Gray later remedied - the story follows). There were huge mounds on the drywall seams and nails, the wrong color and finish paint was used for the exterior wall to match the rest of the basement (semi-gloss instead of eggshell), and you could clearly see the drywall through a bare application of paint. We emailed Gray with our frustration and he came out to inspect the work. Gray shared our dismay and was embarassed by the work and apologized profusely. Apparently this was a new crew he was trying out since our job was so basic compared to the other jobs he typically does. He then had the crew demolish the offending drywall and then fired them later. Then he brought over his best drywalling crew. They were able to hang new drywall and re-sand, frieze, and fix the lumps in the rest of the drywall. After the new crew had finished, the drywall and paint looked flawless. To make up for the trouble, Gray's crew painted the walls of the basement that contacted the new construction. I had also asked the electrician to hang an additional ceiling fan and repair an exterior porch light fixture while he was at the house. Gray didn't charge me for this extra work beyond the contract to make up for the drywall fiasco, which was a great gesture. Also, I'd like to add, despite having to redo the bedroom drywall, the job was finished on time. I really don't care about the intermediate steps, all I cared about was the finished product, which is a fantastic bedroom for our au pair, with great paint and wonderful quality workmanship. We were so pleased by the painting work, and the new area looked so great, we had Gray provide us with an estimate to paint the rest of the basement with a matching fresh coat. It went fabulously and flawlessly, with the painters moving a lot of bookshelves, entertainment centers, refrigerators and miscellaneous junk to get to the walls. The painting quality was very professional, with the appropriate colors for the walls and ceiling, including a confusing underhang. It looks great. The original estimate also had an attic for storage to be installed above our garage. This was done after the drywall fiasco, so we had Gray's best carpentry crew over to do this work. There was some gaps left between the scissor joints, but this was acceptable to us for the space. Otherwise, the flooring work went great and the carpenters were able to work around some poorly built parts of our attic with uneven beams and dimensions. The one flaw with the work was the ladder. It was a cheap 250-lb rated ladder made of wood. I am a 260lb guy carrying no cargo. I tried out the ladder to inspect the space and it was obvious it wasn't going to survive a lot of trips from the creaking and bending it made as I traversed it. I mentioned this to Gray and he swapped out the ladder for a 350-lb aluminum version for just the difference in cost of the ladders (about $40). The downside with both ladders was that they required a portable bottom step be stored in the basement and brought out to be put under the ladder due to the height of the ceiling in the basement. Gray also repaired a beam in the attic that I noticed when inspecting it for a small fee when he replaced the ladder. We also added on another job beyond the original contract while the carpenters were here doing the attic - we had some crown molding installed in my daughter's room. Gray was able to accomodate us and get the work done quickly. The molding is very smooth and was painted very well. Fantastic work again. Overall, I had a fantastic experience with Gray. What I think sets Manna Brothers apart is Gray's commitment to the customer's satisfaction. On numerous occasions when I would call him to discuss various issues that popped up, I was always able to reach him by cell phone, and he always had time to talk to me. This was huge to me as I have a tight schedule and don't have time to be playing phone tag with my contractor. Also, he repeated the mantra that he wouldn't be done until I was completely satisfied with the work. And he definitely held true to it. I have a lot of respect for Gray to demolish work he wasn't pleased with - at his cost - and get it done right. The cost was a little higher than some other contractors, but it was worth the extra to have the peace of mind that Manna was committed to excellence and would work with me until it was right. In conclusion, we were completely satisfied with all the work done and plan to use Manna Bros. again for our next renovation. I highly recommend Gray and his crew.
Description of Work: Added interior bedroom to finished basement. Bedroom included ceiling fan/light and closet with slider doors. Added 3- way switch to hallway outside bedroom. Filled in wall outside bedroom to match bulkhead. Painted bedroom interior. Relocated light fixture. Installed 4 new electrical outlets. Installed sound isolation drywall in ceiling. Repainted basement and staircase walls, ceiling, trim, and doors. Minor drywall dent repairs. Repaired trim separated from wall around staircase. Added garage attic: Added plywood flooring. Added aluminum pull-down ladder. Repaired roof beam. Installed and painted crown molding in upstairs bedroom. Hung ceiling fan in family room. Repaired exterior porch light fixture.
Can't say enough good things. An entirely lovely experience. Very professional, outstanding work and attention to detail. Grey was great about making suggestions to reduce the cost of the project. My kids wouldn't even go in the basement alone before the work because it was scary (even pre sump failure). I"m not sure what exactly Grey did but the exact same space is now "cool" and "awesome" and I have to drag the kids out of it. Magic. I live in a 90 year old house so there is always another project around the corner. We will definitely use Grey in the future.
Description of Work: Framing, insulation, drywall, painting, cabinets, doors in basement. Basement had been finished previously, but had flooded due to a sump failure, destroying everything from the floor to 18 inches up.

Gray was thorough, courteous and professional throughout the job. The Estimate - Gray was able to provide us with an estimate within 48 hours of our first call to him. He spent over an hour explaining the job, his approach, and didn't leave until he had a complete understanding of our expectations. Given the size of the job and his current schedule, he was able to schedule our work to begin within a week! Framing - Within two days of receiving our signed contract, Gray had the room to be finished framed out. The space included an angled wall - one in which the studs were not level with one another. Gray shimmed this out so that the drywall wouldn't turn out "wavy" - and we're glad he did! Drywall Installation - The drywall installation took only about a day and was a bit tricky given the dimensions of the space. The Manna Bros. team made quick work of things and worked hard to keep our house clean and dust free. Finishing - The team applied mud and sanded at least three times to ensure a smooth, paint ready finish. They were neat and cleaned up all the dust in the room (and even those areas to which dust escaped). Once the job was complete, Gray did a final walk through with us and assured us that if were were unsatisfied in the slightest that he'd be back until we were pleased. We didn't need to take him up on his offer, but appreciated that he put it out there! Our daughter loves her new playroom and will do so for many years to come. Thanks, Manna Bros.!

We were happy to help in converting your attic into a playroom for your daughter and are thrilled to learn that she is now enjoying her very own play space! Thank you for the opportunity to work with you on this project and for your detailed review of our services. Our company prides itself on our attention to detail. We strongly believe taking the extra time to do the job right, such as shimming the face of studs prior to hanging drywall, will always result in a high quality end product. So, it is very gratifying for us when a client recognizes and acknowledges these efforts. We hope your daughter will enjoy this space for years to come and that we might have the opportunity to work together again in the future. Many thanks - Gray Manna and the staff of Manna Bros. I would highly recommend Manna Bros. for any home improvement project. We had a great experience from start to finish with Gray and his team of professionals. When I first called Gray for an estimate, he was in the area completing another job and came right over that day and looked at the work to be done. He explains things so well! He took time to explain from start to finish how he would go about fixing the problem. We had a leak in our front bay window and it was hard to tell where the leak was coming from. Gray explained how he would find the leak and approximately how long it would take to fix the problem. We also had water damage to the ceiling as a result of the leak in the bay window as well as two other ceilings damaged from a leak in the roof. Gray came back another day with his drywall man ,who has 26 yrs drywall experience, and got his recommendation on repairing the existing plaster ceiling or putting a new drywall ceiling over the existing plaster ceiling. They recommended replacing the damaged plaster ceiling with drywall in the living room and in the bedroom to avoid any problems with cracking years later with the plaster ceiling. The damage to these two areas was extensive. The 3rd ceiling in the kitchen was a minor repair to the plaster in the ceiling; therefore, they recommended patching the existing plaster in this room. The estimate Gray gave us was reasonable for the amount of work to be done. Once we decided to hire Gray and his team to tackle this problem, they were able to come out the next week and start the work. Gray was able to find the leak, remove any damaged plaster, replace the fascia board, paint the fascia board and put on a new gutter all in same day. They were able to match the exterior paint perfectly! The gutter they put up for us looks great! It blends right into the house. The next day the drywall man installed the drywall ceilings. After the drywall ceilings where completed, Gray had his finisher come in an finish the ceilings. Both the drywall man and the finisher did an amazing job!! Gray has a wonderful, professional crew with many years of experience in their trade and the end result reflects their years of experience. We are very pleased with the quality of the work that was done our home! We would definitely use Manna Bros again for any home improvement project! Thanks again Gray for making this process easy from start to finish!
Description of Work: Gray fixed 3 ceilings for us which were the result of water damage.Ceiling #1 - Leak in the bay window in the front of the home. Gray opened the fascia board and discovered that there was a hole from a nail that was not patched. Apparently, the nail hole was from the gutter that had been removed at one time and they failed to close up the hole before putting the gutter back on. Water was getting in above the ceiling and causing damage to the plaster ceiling. In addition to the hole, the slope of the gutter was incorrrect which was also causing a backup of water right where the hole was. To fix the problem, Gray had to remove the plaster above the ceiling that was damaged, repair the hole, replace the fascia board, paint the new fascia board and install a new seamless gutter. The exterior paint matched perfectly and the gutter blends in with the house so nicely that you don't even notice that it's there. The living room ceiling damage was extensive so, Gray's drywall man recommended putting a full sheet of drywall over the existing plaster ceiling in order to get the best result instead of patching the existing plaster ceiling. We agreed with this recommendation and the ceiling looks great. You would never know there was any problem. Ceiling #2 - Damage to a bedroom ceiling from a leak in the roof. The roof was repaired and Gray's drywall man came and placed a full sheet of drywall over the existing plaster ceiling. After the drywall man was done, another man that specializes in finishing came toprep the ceiling so it was ready to paint. The ceiling looks great!Ceiling #3 - Damage from a leak in the roof which was repaired. This ceiling the plaster was patched and repaired and it also looks great.

Overall, this was a great experience. The downside of course is that we can think of a million other projects that we would want to do with Grey :) Grey has been great to work with and has been more then receptive to my many, many changes in directions. I will be very honest I am sure I am a taxing client because I had new ideas perhaps every single day and never did they stop my near constant (perhaps even stream of consciousness) flow of ideas. Grey constantly was receptive to my ideas, suggestions, questions and comments and I completely appreciate this. The absolute key to working with Grey is being honest with what you are thinking. Grey is extraordinarily responsive to questions, and this is very valuable to me. In addition to the great back and forth with Grey is the top notch work the Grey did at our house, so not only was he receptive to ideas, but he does great work and I really can't think of what else one can ask from a contractor. We are thrilled with the work that he and his great team has done. The are the epitome of honest, timely, on-time, professional, great work and I clearly can not recommend them highly enough.
Description of Work: Grey and his company is phenomenal to work with. To be honest the initial quote that we received was for less work and less cost then what we did, because we were constantly adding additional things to be done because of the great work he was doing it. We completely ripped out the previous finished basement, we took down a wall to create a complete family room, resurfaced our fireplace (the original was red brick from the 1960's to field stone facade, what we originally discussed was dry walling it, this is much much better and it absolutely looks great), pulled down our ceiling (the original was from 1960 redid the lighting by putting in lots of zoned recessed lighting), redid a bathroom (drywall, electrical, installed toilet, sink, marble floor, etc.), pulled out the floor in the basement (a mixture of old carpet and Pergo to new plush carpet and beautiful Pergo), put in network (Cat 5E) electrical and coal (to distribute television), a support wall for a TV mount (we installed a 70" TV in our new Family Room and this required significant support for this TV), extended HVAC into various rooms being redone and installed 5 doors (1 closet, 3 room doors and insulated door to garage).

Gray Manna was so easy to work with. He was flexible in setting up a home estimate and described the job in easy to understand terms. Since this was a smaller job I thought Gray Manna wouldn't be involved but he was there from start to finish. Gray put me at easy and I felt comfortable leaving him while I wasn't there with my pets. The job was completed much sooner than estimated which was a plus. I am very happy with their work and would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: In the master bedroom, I had the old cabinet removed and discarded from existing closet. Two new bi-fold closet doors were framed and hung. Also had five interior doors in hallway removed and installation of five new 6-panel Colonial style prehung doors.

Gray is excellent. He is very knowledgable, upfront and prompt. My expectation were exceeded. After having a couple of people take a look at a floor repair to stop excessive bouncing, Gray explained the the three viable options for a repair and what he would do. Manna Bros treat all their projects as though they are working in their home. Gray worked quickly and is also very flexible as he was able to work around a couple of shifting dates to get the work started. To fix the flooring support he added increased flooring support and tied in into the two storage rooms in our basement. The storage rooms created were impecably done and had very clean lines so when we finish the rest of the basement we will be able to time them in very easily. The floor repair from when a previous technician scratchour our floor was done quickly and you can not tell that the boards were replaced. A job well done all over. Gray and his team are a please to work with and we will be using him so future remodling work.
Description of Work: Evaluate excessive floor bouncing due to front loading washing machine, provide three viable recommendations. Installed Framming in basement to strencthen (shore up) flooring. Framed up and enclosed utiliy rooms in unfinished basement. Replaced hardwood floor boards in laundry room from damage caused during service visit.

Your kind words are greatly appreciated. Both you and your wife were an absolute joy to work with and the generous hospitality you provided to myself and my crew was amazing. We hope you are enjoying the new space in the basement, as well as the newfound stability of floor. Thank you again for the opportunity. Many thanks - Gray Manna and the staff at Manna Bros. After a broken pipe flooded our first floor and caved in the basement ceiling, I was stuck with a huge mess. Manna Brothers was recommended by a friend who had found them on Angie's List. They came out, talked through what needed to be done, provided options and then didn't hassle me until I was ready to proceed. I was working under a time crunch, as I was having a big family party, and Gray worked with me to make sure that everything was done on time and to my satisfaction. There was a small setback, when some materials that were delivered were not up to par, but they handled everything with the company and still managed to get done on time. As an added bonus, they even came and helped me move all the furniture back in place once the floor refinishing was completed. It gave me great peace of mind to know I could leave every morning for two weeks and not have to worry about a thing, They were respectful of my property, always very professional and above and beyond what I would ever have expected from a contractor. I'll be having them back again soon for another major renovation project! Highly recommend!
Description of Work: Repaired damaged drywall, sanded and painted to match existing paint. Pulled up damaged floorboards, repaired underflooring, replaced hardwood flooring. Arranged and coordinated sanding and finishing of floors. Cut out damaged ceilings, replaced drywall and painted entire ceiling.

It went very well. Gray and his crew were punctual, personable, and professional. They communicated with me about what needed to be done, and their work was outstanding. I highly recommend Manna Brothers! The next time that I need remodeling work done, I will be calling Gray first. I would grade them at an A+!
Description of Work: Gray and his crew put up drywall in our two-car garage. More than half of the garage needed the drywall, including parts of the ceiling. They also placed insulation in the garage attic. I had most of the materials purchased before the work was done.
This is really only the tip of the iceberg of all that Manna Bros did. It doesn't even begin to cover the incredible minutiae that they addressed - with a smile. I received an estimate at the beginning, not once did Gray waver from that initial quote. My house looks amazing!!!! The bathrooms are finished, the basement is down to just carpet to be installed... and the contractors' time is winding to an end... Manna Brothers has continued to amaze me with their professionalism and attention to detail - our quirky house certainly tried to test their limits. Couldn't have wished for a better experience with a contracting company, or individuals to have traipsing through my house for a month. I am grateful... In all honesty, with all of the work we've had to have done on this house, and the rental properties we own, I have never come across another Contractor of this caliber. Gray Manna and crew, you, are a class act.
Description of Work: Remodeled two bathrooms (hall bath and master bathroom) and refinished a basement after flooding. Hall bath remodel: - tiled floors and tub walls (to ceiling in tub); insertion of new vanity, painted wall, ceilings, door and trim; electrical with lighting replacement and box installation, moved plumbing pipes to accommodate new vanity and replaced shower/tub diverter. Master bath remodel: tiled floors and tub walls, and full shower tiling along with custom built shower pan (to ceiling in shower); insertion of new vanity, replaced shower diverter; painted wall, ceilings, door and trim; electrical with lighting replacement and box installation; fixing plumbing issues with previously installed tub. Basement remodel: replaced 2 feet of drywall and molding around entire perimeter of basement (SEAMLESS!); wall, ceiling and column paint; installation of new door under steps; creative reuse of available cabinetry to make the basement more usable; cabinet installation; re-plumbed water pipe for sink.
I e-mailed Manna Brothers and was contacted within hours by Gray Manna. This was a pleasant surprise, as it took days to hear back from other companies; some never returned messages. Gray and James came out within a day or two to survey the damage, and provided me an estimate within 24 hours. The basement was my main priority, but I also asked for an estimate to replace the front door wooden frame. Gray said it wasn't necessary to replace the whole frame but that it could be fixed easier and much, much cheaper by cutting out the damaged uprights on either side of the door and replacing them. I signed the contract on October 20, and work began on November 3, as promised. Everything was done on the schedule that Gray had blocked out. He personally supervised the job. My basement looks good as new -- maybe even better. Gray treated me like I was his only customer, always returning my calls, making sure things were done to my satisfaction. The whole job went as smoothly as I could have asked for. What a pleasant experience!!
Description of Work: Basement was damaged in flood. Manna Brothers cut out and replaced 1 foot of drywall all around basement walls, spray painted walls, replaced water-damaged bathroom vanity. Replaced rotted wood on front door frame.

Your kind words and positive review are greatly appreciated! It was wonderful working with you on this project and we hope that we have the opportunity to work together again in the future. Many thanks - Gray Manna and the staff of Manna Bros. Home Improvement
Manna Brothers Home Improvement -- Simply the BEST! Professional, Highly Capable, Customer Focused, Quality-driven, Conscientious, Friendly - those words come to mind when I describe my experience with Gray Manna and Manna Brothers Home Improvement during my basement renovation. That unique combination of contractor qualities places them in a totally different league beyond other contractors in MD and Southern PA. I say this as a home owner who has had work done by other contractors in the Southern PA and MD area who did not deliver on their promises or stood behind their work after the job was done. Throughout the entire basement renovation project, Gray kept me informed of what would be accomplished each day and was always willing to address any questions. His communication and follow-through was outstanding! As with some projects, some unexpected issues arise - in my situation, it was an area of mold that wasn't fully removed by a major national mold-mitigation contractor I previously used after my basement flooded. Gray and his team brought the issue to my attention and addressed the problem to keep the project moving forward, whereas other contractors would have not been as helpful and responsive. Above all, beyond the great work that was done, what impressed me most was Gray Manna's integrity and customer focus. He is genuinely concerned about satisfying the customer and doing things right the first time. He treated my home and basement renovation project as if it was his very own and truly cared about making sure I was happy with the final outcome. I would highly recommend Manna Brothers Home Improvement without hesitation. They are the BEST!
Description of Work: Manna Brothers Home Improvement renovated my basement following flooding...they replaced drywall and base molding, did electrical work, installed lighting, painted all walls, did mold mitigation, installed ceramic tile flooring (and custom tile work) and industrial vinyl tile flooring.

Once again, the Manna Bros exceeded my expectations. We had 25 year old sliding glass door that was probably not installed correctly and was leaking into the basement, so we hired the Manna Bros to make sure the job was done correctly. I figured that the job would be pretty easy, just remove the old door and put the new door in. If we hired a home improvement store to install the door, I am sure that is what they would have done, but when Gray and James showed up, they discovered that the previous door was sitting slightly cock-eyed in the frame. Instead of just throwing the new door in and filling the gaps, Gray and James spent over an hour working the frame and the door to get it to sit correctly in the space. After finally getting it into position, then made sure to seal all the holes where we had water damage from the previously incorrect installation. In addition, they went above and beyond by taking out the old trim which was not square to the floor and installing a newer, much more elegant trim around the door. While the installation seemed simple, once again the Manna Bros. impressed my by taking the extra time to do the job correctly, not just get the job done. I look forward to working with Gray and his team again soon.
Description of Work: Gray and James replaced our old sliding glass door with a new french door. This was a first floor door that opened up to a deck.

From the time Gray met me at the house for the initial estimate he was very professional. He carefully reviewed the room to see what needed to be done and explained exactly what he could do. He looked at our basement door and saw where the water was entering and said what he can do to seal up the door frame and prevent the water from entering. When the day came to get started he was punctual and carefully brought all supplies into the house and was very neat throughout. They worked straight through the day. He and the crew were very friendly as I would come down to see how the progress was going or when I needed to get something from the basement. To show his integrity, we asked him to use this chemical for the walls called Microban to help keep the mold count down after we had our water mitigation. Microban was recommended by the company who removed the water. He was going to pick it up but he saw how much harmful chemicals were in it so he found a different solution to use based on his research and said it was safe for our 3 children. We were so appreciative that he took the time and though of our safety when using chemicals in our home. After the work was completed he had us review his work and we water tested the door to test his work on the door. The door frame was fine but water was still coming in under the door itself. He told us what else can be done and he offered to come back and fix it but we haven't done so yet. He did a masterful job and we are going to use him to finish the rest of our basement that is currently unfinished and used for storage.
Description of Work: All we can say is WOW! What a great and honest contractor to procure. We had a flood in our basement which ruined the space. We had the water mitigated, the baseboards and drywall ripped up and the carpet removed. We contacted Manna Bros through our search here on Angie's List and felt they have completed some great work and we decided to procure their services. They fixed the drywall, painted the whole basement and re-sealed the area of our basement door in order to prevent water from entering the house again. Gray, the owner was on site the whole time and made sure the job was done right. He seemed to be a perfectionist with his work and the end product showed.

As a Realtor, I have seen the work of many contractors and I can say without a doubt that Manna Bros. is unquestionable one of the best. From start to finish, Gray and his team were total professionals, worked hard, and completed the job in a timely manner for the agreed upon price. In my mind, what really set the Manna Bros. apart from the rest was their desire to get the job done right. Numerous times they had an opportunity to take a short cut, but didn't, even when it meant considerably extra work. For example, shortly into the job they discovered that our builder put the stairs in about an inch and a half out of square. To me, it didn't seem like a big deal, however Gray and James spent an extra half day just to square up the stairs to make sure that the walls were straight when they finished. They could have left it and I would have never known, but they took time to fix it without charging anything extra. Gray was a great resource for the project as well. Although we had an idea of what we wanted to do from the start, Gray was instrumental in helping us figure out what would look good. As they started to progress, Gray and his team remained flexible, allowing us to tweak things as the floor plan started to take shape. For example, we didn't know exactly how big we wanted the wet bar to be, but we were able to hold off on a decision until after some of the other walls were completed, allowing us to size it just right for the space. It almost goes without saying that the final results were perfect. Despite being pressed for time towards the end, Gray still made sure not to take any short cuts. All the attention to detail shows and it is clear that every member of the team takes pride in the work they do. I already have Gray scheduled for my next job and any job in the future, I will be sure to call Gray first.
Description of Work: Manna Bros finished our basement that was previously unfinished, including adding a bedroom, full bath, wet bar, and rec room. The work included framing the walls, all the electrical work, new plumbing (although bath rough in was already existing), drywall, base molding and crown molding, cutting a new window, and replacing an existing sliding glass door with a french door. In total, they finished about 750 square feet.

Mann Bros, Home Improvement advertises "prompt, professional and proficient service" - and there is definite truth in their advertising! All scheduled appointments were convenient and kept by Gray Manna. His demeanor, as well as that of his experienced crew was extremely courteous, respectful and knowledgeable. Because of their combined years of experience, expertise and true commitment to quality workmanship, all unplanned and unforeseen issues were handled in the most expeditious, economic and efficient manner. Throughout the entire project Gray and Alicia displayed great patience and I was able to consistently rely on their advice and guidance regarding specific products and materials. Gray remained in constant contact with me throughout the project, but most notable is the fact that Gray contacted me after the job was finished to ensure that I was completely satisfied with the work that was done. It was a refreshing change to know that someone cares about the quality of his work and whether or not it met the homeowner's expectations! There are so many adjectives I could suggest to Gray that describe the quality of his services and my excellent experience with Manna Bros, but they wouldn't all fit on his business card! "Prompt, professional and proficient service" is what you can expect, and, without a doubt, is what you will receive. I can unequivocally recommend Gray Manna and Manna Bros, Home Improvement to complete any project large or small with the utmost quality and professionalism! I will certainly use Manna Bros Home Improvement for my future home improvement projects!
