While I worked with a designer on the layout for the kitchen, Gray and Danny worked in the sunroom. They found several problems that were created by the previous contractor and addressed them immediately. Some contractors will come in and just do the job they were hired to do and leave, but Gray addressed and fixed all issues. Had these issues not been fixed by Gray, there would've been major structural problems in the future. The room was not level, not structurally sound and had already started to sag near the sliding glass door. He installed tongue and groove plywood as subfloor replacing the existing poorly laid plywood flooring. After fixing all problems, Gray and Danny completed framing the sunroom, adding drywall, insulation and electric. Once the design was finalized and the cabinets were ordered, Gray and Danny completely demolished the kitchen, removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room and taking out two dining room windows combining 3 rooms and creating one large area. He added two corner windows in the kitchen and framed the old kitchen door area. He waited to do the demolition 2-3 weeks before the cabinetry arrived since he did not want me to be without a working kitchen for an extended period of time. All work was completed beautifully and professionally, whether it was drywall, trim work, spackling, painting, floor and tile installation, electrical, plumbing, or installation of cabinetry. Over the years, Gray has assembled a group of people he works with, people he trusts and knows will do a fantastic job. I chose Manna Brothers from Angie's List. I wanted a contractor who was highly rated and did work in my area. Both Gray and Danny are honest, professional, courteous, punctual and very reliable...and they love what they do! I will definitely use Manna Brothers again.

He removed the existing wall between the kitchen and dining room, took out two windows that were between the dining room and sunroom, added the same flooring in all three rooms creating one large beautiful room.

Would definitely recommend Manna Bros as a building contractor. They take pride in making sure that standards are very high and not only was their building and finish work great but all the sub contractors that he uses were excellent too. Plumber, electrician, tile installer, dry wall installers and painters all were pleasant, polite and did a great job. Gray always communicated who was coming and when so I knew what to expect each day. He is also well regarded by his suppliers which make it easy to source materials if you need to. The price was fair and any extras that came along, either due to us adding them on or by necessity, Gray discussed upfront and gave us the price. Despite a few surprises when the walls were opened up they worked to accommodate everything we asked for and we got a fabulous kitchen. The best compliment I can give is that we will be hiring them for our next project/s!!

We found Manna Brothers on Angie's List and after obtaining several estimates decided to use them to finish our unfinished basement. We definitely made the right decision. Gray (the owner of the company) is very professional and he and his entire crew were highly proficient in their trade. They were all also very efficient. They started work within days of us signing the contract and were at our house every day to ensure the work was completed in a timely manner. Gray (owner) was present every day either doing the work himself or supervising to ensure all work was done properly. All permits and inspections were obtained and arranged by Gray. Throughout the project they kept their work area very clean and organized. Although construction is never a quiet job they certainly made a conscientious effort to minimize any additional noise and minimize any interference in our daily lives. Through every step of the project plans were reviewed with us to ensure things were done exactly how we wanted them. The entire team was very flexible. They listened to all of our requests and let us make changes/customize the project as it progressed. Once the project was completed they took all of trash with them and left the area neat and clean. Most importantly it was clear that Gray and his team truly cared about the work that they were doing. He has very high expectations for his crew, he expects nothing less than perfection-- We felt like we were working with Mike Holmes from HGTV ;) The finished project is more that we could have ever imagined. We have a professional appearing work out room with gym quality rubber flooring, an amazing family room to lounge and watch TV in, and a beautiful bathroom. We absolutely love the finished project. We highly recommend Manna Brothers and will absolutely use them for future projects!

Complete bathroom installation from rough in- including drywall, paint, full shower with tile surround, tile floors, toilet, pedastal sink, light, and fan.

Gray Manna and his team remodeled our downstairs family room for us. They transformed an ugly, outdated living space that flooded every time it rained into a beautiful, modern room. First, they demolished the wet bar, took down all the paneling, got rid of the "popcorn" ceiling and removed the black-and-white checkered tile floor. They found the leak and caulked around the window. During the renovation, they discovered another leak coming from the ceiling and traced that to an upstairs shower. They put up sheet rock, sanded, painted, installed lighting and put down a beautiful plank floor. We love our new room! Thank you Gray and Team!

Do you need any renovation done to your home? Great news, because your search is over. Manna Brothers blew away every expectation I had for a home renovation contractor, and then some. I had no prior relationship with Gray and went solely off of Angie's List for the recommendation. After checking out their website and doing some research I was sold on premise. I am a first-time homeowner and the townhome we bought needed a good amount of work. Most importantly was the kitchen, which had cracked floor tile (because it was never installed properly), shoddy electrical in the kitchen, and broken countertops and 20 year old beat low builder-grade cabinets. At the time, I thought maybe I could get away with just marginally improving what I had by replacing the countertops, but with the fantastic advice of Gray and coming to my own senses, I realized that the entire kitchen needed to be gutted. We had the luxury of living in an apartment while ALL the work was being done, so my wife and I knew that this was the time to do the work, and we only wanted to do this once - and do it the right way. Doing it "the right way" was always Gray's motto and he served as an excellent trusted advisor to me throughout the entire process. I relied on Gray countless times to make the right judgment call on work that needed to be done, or what would work better in terms of design. Gray always was completely honest with me and I truly felt that he treated my home as if it was his own. In fact, he frequently would say "this is what I would do" and always served me with both of our best interests in mind. For the kitchen, again as I said it was a complete gut. Despite only working with a partner the entire renovation was very quick. This is by no means that they were rushing, it just speaks to their work ethic and motivation. They take tremendous amounts of pride in their work and that is the basis for their brand and image that they stick to. Gray recommended several professionals that handled the overall remodel, such as for kitchen design and a source for the granite countertops. What this allowed me to do was be as particular in the process as I wanted to be, and help control price. Although I had several visions for the kitchen, the excellent advising by Gray and his associates led to the complete package of the remodeled kitchen as it is today. I couldn't be more happy and thrilled with the work and I get nonstop compliments anytime anyone sees it. The overall process of kitchen remodeling and other miscellaneous renovations throughout the house was approximately a month of work not taking into account the time it took for the cabinets to be ordered and received (approximately 4-5 weeks). Beyond the kitchen, my entire house was repainted and I had old carpet ripped up from the master bedroom and replaced with brand new hardwood floor. Gray and his crew installed it themselves in a day. There were other minor items that they did as well, such as drywall repair and replacing baseboard trim throughout about half of the house. I can't speak highly enough of Gray, his company, his work ethic, and attention to detail. At no point did ever feel uncomfortable or taken advantage of. These guys showed up motivated and ready to work early in the morning and stayed until the job was done for the day. And at every point of the service process was Gray making sure I was completely satisfied. A true rarity in the remodeling industry! My cost of the service listed includes ALL work performed in the house - labor, materials, and so forth. Note that Gray utilizes other professionals outside of his company for electrical, tiling, plumbing etc however this is in the best interest of Gray and you as a customer - because it allows Gray to source the best people to work on your home and do it quickly. Master craftsman of their trade do the work and you reap the rewards. Amazing attention to detail - even down to the grout lines.

Most importantly, Gray and his team transformed our basement. It is literally the best section of our home and we can't wait to use Manna again in the future to upgrade /remodel other portions of our home. Gray and his team are passionate craftsman who take great pride in their work and deliver superior results. We've had many contractors work on our home over the years - but none comes close to Manna. From the beginning Gray and his team were professional, courteous, timely, and obvious expert craftsman. At our initial meeting regarding the potential project, Gray spent several hours with us providing us his expert counsel on potential options and approaches to meet our ideas. Also, he was very mindful to explain to us the potential costs of the various options. After our discussion, Gray provided us with a detailed estimate of the project and answered all of our questions. The Manna team arrived on March 11, 2014 and worked through the end of May 2014 (including some weekends). Throughout the entire project, Gray was actively engaged and so was his entire team. As the project progressed, Gray continually checked in with us to make sure we were satisfied and to see if we had any questions / concerns. As with any major renovation in an older home, unexpected items developed as the project evolved - in each and every case Gray quickly highlighted these items (for example uneven basement floors) and provided us with several potential options to resolve. There was never any pressure to choose the most elaborate or expensive solution - rather Gray simply shared the potential alternatives for our consideration. The Manna Brother's team carefully reviewed the jobsite every day and cleaned up to make sure the area was safe. In summary, If your desire is a high quality product at a reasonable cost - you will be hard pressed to find a better contractor than Manna Brothers.
Description of Work: Manna Brothers completely remodeled and upgraded our basement which was in a state of severe disrepair and therefore provided only limited use to the family. The basement needed all new electrical work, plumbing, heating, framing, drywall, exterior windows, lighting and flooring. The project also included the installation of a completely new full bathroom (previously there was no bathroom) as well as the creation of fully separate laundry / pantry, fitness, great room, storage closet and den. Lastly, Manna custom built a media center to our specifications for the great room.

After finally deciding to remodel our kitchen- my husband and I had begun the search for a contractor. As any "first timers" may know- this can be a very frustrating and sometimes scary process. We did a lot of research- and after reading reviews on Angie's List- I was sold on Manna Brothers-- even before we met them! I was thoroughly disappointed when we contacted them and they stated that we were not in their service area-- even though on Angie's List they state they service Howard County and on their website they list their service area of Howard County and North Laurel- which is where our house is! We were left disappointed and confused as we continue our search for a contractor. Update: Grey Manna contacted us the next day After I posted my original review. He apologized for the error and came out that day to meet with us. Their website is now updated with their current service area. Mr. Manna strives on perfection and quality work. I can tell after meeting and talking with him that he isn't happy until you are 100% satisfied with his work.

Looking at the other reviews it is hard to say something that hasn't already been said, but like everyone else I had a great experience working with Gray and his team. We had Gray and two other contractors with A ratings look at the project. Gray was in line with the other estimates we received (all very close) but my decision was based on the overall good feeling that my wife and I had talking to him and asking questions, and the fact that Gray actually does the work with his crew, and any questions/issues that may arise during the work are easy to resolve (he's right upstairs). Some of the others who came to look at the job were very nice/professional, but it was clear that it would be the last time we talked to them throughout the job, and whoever we were going to get once the work started was an unknown and something we didn't want to risk. The work started relatively quickly once we decided on Gray, and he and his crew were great. They were very professional, put down paper on stairs and anywhere that wasn't getting torn down, put up plastic to control dust, etc. The quality of the construction was excellent. Gray kept us updated throughout and was always willing to discuss the details of what was going on. The framing on the bearing wall was from a structural perspective more than code and every detail was done right with no shortcuts. Drywall finish is excellent. Trim is perfect match for what we had. One example of a small detail that stands out in terms of attention to detail - we have plinth blocks at the bottom of each door casing that are no longer made. Gray cut blocks himself for a perfect match on the new trim. Two other things (among many really) stood out. One of the interior walls was designed to be at an odd angle, and when I saw it I really wasn't happy with how it looked once it was up. After mentioning it, Gray agreed (or at least said he did) and changed it without question. Also, there were a couple of different ways that we could have put up the exterior lights. One way was with a block that would have been easier to use (cut existing siding and insert), and the other required taking down and reinstalling siding, but was a closer color match to the siding. Again, no question and even through it was more work Gray did it the right way rather than the easy way. Gray also told my wife that when the snow melts they will be back to get the nails etc. that may have fallen in the snow during construction. Much appreciated when you have three kids playing outside. Can't say enough about Gray and his team (who were also all great guys and very skilled). I am probably forgetting many things that went well, but the last thing I will say is that all this happened during the big snowstorms this year, and Gray and crew always made it here to keep the project going, sometimes shoveling snow to get to the siding part of the job, and working in single degree temperatures more than once. Overall great job. My neighbor is already trying to get him for a bathroom remodel, and there is no question that we are using him for other work on our house later this year.
Description of Work: Our house was designed as a 4 bedroom but built as a 3 bedroom with a larger master. We converted back to a 4 bedroom which required knocking down an interior wall, building a few interior walls/closets, putting in a new bedroom door, moving windows on a bearing wall and re-siding the back of the house. Gray and crew did all framing, windows, drywall, trim, siding and electrical. We are doing paint and carpet.

I never write online reviews - in fact, this is my first. I was so impressed with this company and the value, I feel obligated to share the experience. From start to finish, Manna Bros. were outstanding. They outlined exactly what they were going to do, and when they were going to do it (they met /exceeded all expectations). Couple of details worth noting: As with any project, there will always be a few unexpected issues - I was impressed with how they took everything in stride, found a solution, and moved on (without tacking on a bunch of little extra charges at the end of the job). They are very keen on the aesthetics and functionality (both important in a bathroom). The tile work is beautiful, and they have a fantastic attention to detail. After watching the process and seeing the final product, it reminded me that there's a reason you should hire professionals for certain projects around the house. We have recommended them to neighbors already, and will certainly consider them when it's time to renovate our kitchen.

I live in a condo with 13 windows . I wanted trim around the windows, like a picture being framed. The team did a fantastic job and communicated very clearly. Everyone involved was clearly a professional and did not cut any corners. If there were any uncertainties, Gray Manna (who led the project) contacted me and patiently waited for a response. In the end, there were only a few low-cost modifications to the original contract, and I was given a choice on all of them. So the original quote was very accurate. The crew members arrived on time each morning, and were very polite.

We had an absolutely great experience dealing with Manna Bothers but before I talk about that let me provide a little background. My wife and I moved into our current house a few years ago. The house was built in 1962 and some time after that the owner built an addition on to the house - a two story family room. Some time after we moved in we noticed that sometimes, in particularly heavy rains, the ceiling in that room would leak. We spoke to several contractors about fixing this but had a hard time settling on one. A couple that seemed to know what they were talking about didn't want to do the work and several others that were interested couldn't provide good references. We found out about Manna Brothers through Angies List and contacted the company. Gray Manna, the owner, met with us around the end of July. He was upfront about the fact that he could not start for about a month. We told him we were ok with that, that we were more interested in the work being done correctly. Gray explained, in great detail, how he would approach the work. He explained that they would test thoroughly for leaks to make sure they found them all. Gray started the work right after Labor Day which was in line with his estimate and the work was completed in the time frame he had stated. Even though Manna Brothers does not do roofing or skylights, he coordinated that work with another company for us. He and his team spent several hours on the roof testing for leaks until they found every one. In order to guarantee that everything was sealed and water tight he removed the old wood on the exterior, around the new windows, and replaced it with new wood. When he finished everything looked great. Gray's attention to detail extended into every part of the job. The new cedar ceiling looks absolutely great as does everything else they worked on for us. They cleaned everything up when they finished. As far as cost is concerned, I feel that I got my money's worth. I would recommend Manna Brothers to anyone that asked and will be calling them again if I need any other work done.
Description of Work: We hired Manna Brothers to solve the problem we were having with major leakage during heavy rains and to address several other issues. They did the following: replaced the cedar ceiling in the two story family room, replaced five windows (4 of which were custom made), replaced a basement door, caulked part of the exterior of the house where water had come in, removed the exterior wood which was rotted in several places - replacing it with new wood, painted the wood, replaced 3 skylights, and installed new drainpipe.

My wife and I struggled at finding a contractor to redo our bathroom. We've had such bad luck in the past with contractors not doing good work, much less coming back when problems happened. A bathroom remodel is not inexpensive, we need the kitchen remodeled as well, so we thought we'd join Angie's list and see if our luck could change. We contacted several people from Angie's list. All but one of the quotes were within a thousand dollars of each other when you compared apples to apples. The third contractor wouldn't quote a job more than six weeks out. What the deciding factor for us selecting Manna Bros over the others was simple. Gray was responsive, he was easy to talk to. Without a doubt he was open to ideas. But the main deciding reason we chose him, was Gray quoted the job, Gray also was going to be on the job while the work was being done. We would be talking with the same person that quoted us the job, discussed options and ideas as we would with the same person during the remodel. During the quote he made several comments and suggestions that indicated he knew what we was talking about even if we didn't. lol We thought it provided a consistency to have the person who spoke to use and quoted the job to be present on the job during construction. Once the contract was signed he was very responsive to questions and calls as well as emails. They started and finished the job in the time period stated in the contract. A first in the history of construction for us. The crew was great. Danny was here most days over the rest of the crew. He impressed us with his work ethic for a young man. (well to us, he's a young man). He would think of things himself to do to provide a more finished polished product. Our house is almost 60 years old and we've been living in it for over 30 years. This is the first major remodel for this particular bathroom. We had no shower in this bathroom, just a tub. We had no insulation in the outer wall. They installed insulation for us. His crew was an extreme pleasure to work with and there's no doubt I'll be using them for future projects. We have a list growing with his name behind it. We want to do our kitchen next. During any remodel, things come up, that someone doesn't expect, it's just the nature. Lucky for us, nothing major came up, just little things and is was great to be able to discuss with Gray solutions to the problem/situation. How to remedy them. I would often ask their opinions and we'd take a vote. After all they are the experts. They see and do the work on a daily basis. Course my vote was the deciding one. lol But it felt more like a cohesive team being able to work with them.
Description of Work: They did an awesome job. He restored my faith in that there are decent contractors out there. But I suppose I should say the work he did instead of giving me peace of mind. They gutted a small bathroom, removed a linen closet and took half a pantry away to make the bathroom larger. Replaced drywall of walls and ceiling and re-framed the pantry as well as build us a customer shower. Also widened the bathroom entry from 24 to 28 inch door. The only thing that was saved was our cabinetry. The shower stall was build from scratch, they tiled, the floor, the shower install, installed new toilet, installed the granite for the sink, shower bench and ledge. They moved plumbing for the shower, moved the ventilation pipe for the bathroom, installed a bathroom fan/light which we never had, installed a shower light and replaced the vanity light. They installed a wider solid core bathroom door and applied trim to that the bathroom as well as framed out our window better than it was before.

We had a very specific time schedule that we needed to bet met and Gray was great in regard. He called back quickly to schedule the estimate, and worked with our schedules to get in the next morning to give the estimate. He got the work done within our allotted schedule and the drywall looks great. Before he left he took the time to explain what nap roller we should use to paint with to make sure our ceiling texture matched up with the existing ceiling texture. Also, he explained how to prep the walls for painting. Gray came back at and verified all of the work at the end of the day. His ability to work with our schedule kept our kitchen renovation project on track. The only complaint I have is that the clean up could have been a little more thorough, someone emptied the wet/dry vac right into our outside trash can without using a bag and there was some mess left in the yard. Overall, I am very happy with the work that was completed, and I am a tough customer to please. I would definitely use Manna Bros again.
Description of Work: Gray's crew installed ceiling drywall and finished it. They also finished the drywall that we had installed on the walls.

Gray and Dan and other workers did an EXCELLENT job all around. They were extremely professional and very detail-oriented. Gray does all he can to please the customer and we would certainly use his services again. He does it right the first time. He fit our project in promptly and completed it efficiently. He does not skimp and just does a really nice job at a fair price. He doesn't nickel and dime. We are huge fans!

We absolutely loved working with Manna Bros; we have already referred their business to our friends and family. The entire team was extremely professional, courteous and enthusiastic to make our bathroom everything was hoped for! The end result was better than I imagined and it is evident that each employee takes pride in his work. Mike Greenwalt is a gem and literally bent over backwards for us to get the job completed in less than two weeks. Through his connections, we were able to purchase many of our materials at a discounted price, which was a huge help. He was very patient with us and made sure all of our questions & concerns were addressed. He is truly a professional and an expert in his field. Thank you, Manna Bros Team!
Description of Work: We hired Manna Bros to renovate our master bathroom. Punch list: removed old tile on shower walls, around tub and floors, waterproofed entire bathroom, expanded shower with new tile, flooring, plumbing, niche and decorative glass mosaic, switched out light fixtures, added wood floor molding, and installed new vanity.

Gray and Danny came and did an estimate and were able to do the work in a timely manner for a VERY affordable price. Gray was extremely professional and willing to fit in a small job in the midst of the much larger jobs that are their staple business. He was polite, professional, knowledgable, and he and Danny did a WONDERFUL job on the wall. We LOVE IT! He suggested we paint it ourselves or get it painted as a way to keep the costs down as painting through his guys probably would have been more expensive. It looks great, and I DEFINITELY plan on using Manna Bros for larger home improvement projects and renovations around our home and in our rental property.
Description of Work: Built a 1/2 wall for our basement staircase to make it safe for baby proofing.
