Work never done.
Description of Work: I choose this deal that was sent to me by Angie's list via email. I paid for 2 hrs Handy-man service for some minor interior work. I paid for service with my credit card but the service was never performed. I called the company several times to make arrangements. I left several messages and never received a return call. I will be contacting my credit card service to get the funds returned.

When Des-Met Construction is notified of a Big Deal coupon purchase an automatic responce e-mail is sent to our new client. On 10/15/2010, the customer did purchase a Big Deal coupon. She stated that she ttried to contact Des-Met on three different occasions. After going back over our phone logs I couldn't find any record of incoming calls from her. On 1/08/2013, she posted her review. On 1/09/2013, I tried to contact her but both of the contact numbers she provided Angie's List were no longer in service. I contacted Angie's List to request their help in contacting her. They had no luck with the numbers either. Thru an e-mail I was able to contact her.At this time I did offer to honor the coupon which she had purchased 27 months earlier. She refused the service & suggested that she wanted a full refund. I e-mail & offer my services again & this time she stated that the spring on the garage door had broken & there was a hole in the shower. On 1/22/2013, she e-mailed me suggusting a meeting. Told me that she would only be available on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday from 10 AM - 1 PM. I sent two e-mails requesting a meeting. On 1/23/2013, she emailed me stating that she needed more notice time & that she was finding the situation unsatisfactory & demanded a full refund. I feel that Des-Met with the limited time availability has made it a little difficult to honor the service she purchased.

He has never gotten back to me.
Description of Work: I had purchased a big deal and had not been able to use it. I realized the deal had expired and immediately emailed Des Met Construction on May 12, 2011. I asked if they would honor my big deal even though the deal had expired. Charlie called me after receiving my email and asked me send over my phone number and address. I sent him an email to set up an appointment with him. He said that he was busy at the time and would get back to me when he could do the work. I have written emails since May 12, 2011 to follow-up with him and have not heard anything back from him.

The member purchased the Big Deal on 10/14/10. The deal expired on 4/14/11. The member contacted me on 5/12/11 approx. (1) month after the deal had expired. I had considered honoring the purchase until she informed me the reason that she forgot about it was that she had the opportunity to go England & France with her girlfriend. She admits she let it expire. If she would have contacted me 4/14/11 I would of honor her purchase. The member lives 140 miles around trip from my office. That equates to approx. 3-4 hours on the road. If contacted within the 6 month I would have been willing to honor her request. After looking at everything involved, the expired deal & the monetary factors I came to the conclusion that I wouldn't honor her request. I personalty believe that it was wrong for her to even grade Des-Met Construction. It was her error by failing to redeem the deal in the appropriate amount of time. I am also very upset with Angie's List for even posting her remarks. Des-Met Construction did nothing wrong in this matter. We had every right under our contract to refuse. For anyone who maybe considering Des-Met Construction for your home repairs I will personally send you a list of very satisfied return clientele. Charles E Straining lll President
