After some initial frustration with the estimator failing to get back to me regarding a breakdown of the work to be done, the owner really stepped up. First, he agreed to give us a “painter for a day.” Second, after we agreed to have Sheldon/Sons do the work, they worked closely with us as the project needed substantial revisions. After stripping/powerwashing the deck, it was determined that the deck was made with mahogany, a rare and expensive wood for decks. Rather than simply proceeding with application of the solid stain we originally requested, Scott Sheldon had his Sherwin Williams rep come out to determine the best option for refinishing the deck. And then Scott came to meet with us personally to discuss our options. We ended up using an Exotic Hardwood stain for the boards and rail caps. And after some steady rains kept the workers away for a few days, they got the project done promptly once the weather cleared. We are very thrilled with the outcome!

My house was built in 1955 and the walls were in quite poor shape. There were multiple layers of paint, some of them oil based and some not. We wanted a complete redo of these rooms to give it an elegant and royal look. Sheldon and sons is one of the four companies I had come bid my job. Their pricing was the highest bid. So I'm sure you're wondering why did I go with the highest bid. Here's why. My impression from speaking with Scott was that they were going to do much more extensive prep work and the finished product will look that much better as a result. I also spoke with the owner of each company regarding how much prep work they were going to do and also asking them how many days the job would take. Based on this and my own research of each company, I felt comfortable paying a premium price. We had a short timeframe and Scott was willing to accommodate so the work started about a week after the job was bid. It was a full three days of prep work before painting started. Scott was very accessible through out the job and always willing to accommodate. The workers showed up around 8:30 each morning ready to work and his workers were all pleasant. They worked hard every day and the rooms were transformed. A true game changer! I do have a little feedback that I think it would be helpful for each job to have a foreman who is there from the beginning to the end. I think this would help ensure effective communication to all of the workers and also help with checking the job for quality control at the end. It might be that they actually do do this for every job, but in my case because I pressed them to start as soon as possible that they may not have been able to do it. In our case, there were a few spots missed that were not noticed until after the crews packed up and the job was complete. Scott told me that he's going to put us on the schedule to get this resolved. Another area of feedback is that when the paint cans were brought into the house I noticed that they were pearl finish and not the eggshell finish the decorators chose. I thought it was a mistake and contacted Scott who told me that because of our children he thought the Pearl finish would be more durable. The part I did not understand was that the sheen was two grades higher than eggshell. In the the afternoon sun and at nighttime because of our great room lighting, every defect is highly magnified and do believe the eggshell would look better because of the less angular sheen. Overall a great experience. I just wouldn't recommend a pearl finish unless the wall is brand new with no defects.

There was nothing negative about them at all. I would absolutely use them in the future. They were very professional and very knowledgeable. The work was very clean and fast. They're punctual and they'll get the job done.

They were terrific. They redid my kitchen, scraped wallpaper, etc. The Foreman, Walter, was fabulous. He actually called me once when he was stuck in traffic to let me know that he was going to be about 10 minutes late. I couldn't believe it. He pretty much painted everything. He was meticulous. Everything had to be moved out so that it could be completed the right way. It was so much better than any other painters I've had in the past. The cost was a bit more, they were our middle estimate, but totally worth it. He refinished seven doors as well as my kitchen and laundry room. The cabinets looked like they just came off the showroom floor. He made a whole room in our carport. It was a beautiful job. He was a true craftsman. The employees were thoughtful and had been with the company for over 20 years. They spoke very highly of the owner. They've been in the area for a long time. They really go the extra mile. They worked with me.

It was good. The guy was fast. They came out on time and they finished quickly.

It turned out fine. They came in and did a good job. They were nice guys. It was entirely satisfactory. It was very business-like. They were good to communicate with. The office staff was very good. We had to wait a while for them to come. It took maybe two weeks to schedule them but when they said they were going to come, they came. It took exactly the amount of time that they said it was going to take. They cleaned up very well afterwards. I thought it was a very satisfactory situation. Price was fair.

It was great, they did a good job. The estimate was professional. He was knowledgeable and took his time. They came in and did what they said they were going to do. The quality of work is great, we are very happy with them.

Very well however there was a small error that had to be corrected. it took somewhat longer than it should have to correct it and one appointment was missed in the process. Eventually everything was don to our satisfaction

Mike and his team were professional, quick and thorough. They can do big jobs, and do them well. Mike always gave us options, and provided his expertise.

Overall, it went very well. The only compliant i have is that they went over the initial time we agreed by about 5 days. They underestimated the amount of work prep work necessary.

I flip houses and I'm a Realtor. This was my first time using Sheldon and Sons. Scott was able to make it out the day after calling for an estimate to repair drywall, install baseboard, and paint my parents house as I am getting it ready to list. The price was fair and he was able to start work in less than a week from my original call. They showed up with 14 painters, everyone worked together efficiently and they finished the whole house in just 2 days. Everyone on the crew was professional, friendly, and seemed to be working the entire time. They used a top paint brand, stayed on budget, and cleaned up when they were finished.

After interviewing 5 different painters, the decision was easy. Scott Sheldon won me over with his friendliness, responsiveness, reputation, price and his ability to get 3 crews (12 total painters) to paint my entire house in 1 week. His crew was extremely professional, punctual, polite and above all -expert painters. They also took great care in protecting the newly refinished hardwood floors done just days before. The job was completed by the deadline and I've already had them complete work in my old house to prep for sale. I can't recommend Sheldon and Sons enough.

What a pleasant experience. We just had interior and exterior painting done by Sheldon and Sons and can't say enough good things about the crew who did our work. The painters were polite, meticulous and very neat. Our home looks great with freshly painted ceilings on the lower floor, painting and drywall repairs in the sun room, freshly painted Master and hall bathrooms, and painting, caulking and repair of exterior Palladium window and door mill work. One of the most stress free contracting experiences we've ever had. Recommend highly!

This is my first time writing a provider review. I can be critical, so believe me! Many providers would have just done what you asked - painted, but not Sheldon & Sons; they would not proceed until everything was correct! First, there were some wood spots that needed patching; they would not begin until corrected. Next I gave them incorrect paint info from my HOA. The professional painter immediately determined that color did not match existing color on my home. They did not begin until the paint color was verified, and they even went so far as to make phone calls to get the correct paint formula! The customer service [pleasant & professional], their industry knowledge and the completed quality [great; I smile each time I drive up to my house]: they are the TOP DOGS in their field!

They were awesome! I got 2 painters for a day deal for $880 and bought $200 in paint (7 gallons). I wanted our large basement and guest room painted. We didn't think it would be possible to paint it all in 8 hours and planned on having to probably finish it ourselves. Well, they painted everything PERFECTLY in 7 hours! They even filled in all the holes and cracks. Also, I contacted them Friday afternoon and they were here Monday morning. Save yourself some money and get the painting deals, buy the paint, remove the outlet covers, and move furniture yourself. I got quotes from other companies for the same area and they ranged between $1500-$1800 (included paint). Also, a friend of mine got a painting deal from another company on Angie's List and wasn't as pleased (they were fast and sloppy). Sheldon & Sons were great and I don't see a single issue. We had Kevin and William and I would definitely request them again.
