+ -1 moreIt when very well. They were able to change to color after we found out the color was not right and the were patient about it. They were extremely professional.
Description of Work: They pressure washed the house for dirt and mildew. They put a cover over holes so insects can't get in. They stained my house and in the stain they put insecticide.

+ -1 moreIt took a month after i gave a deposit for the scheduling to occur. They said they were sending out a Foreman and crew, then just one man showed up. He went to lunch and did not come back, later I received a call that said he had been in an accident. I called Sheldon & Sons and they sent out a second crew who were great. The work they did was fantastic, and I am planning on having them back. Specifically, Paul was great to work with, he really knew his stuff and was clear with all the work that was to be done for us.
Description of Work: They painted the deck, a retaining wall, and a bathroom ceiling.

BLACK MARKS ON THE LIGHT COLORED SIDING DONE BY THE LADDER, CAN'T BE REMOVED. PRIME PAINT WASN'T USED PER CONTRACT ON THE BARE WOOD and PAINT BUBBLING. PAINT SPLATTERS ON BRICK, TOLD IT WASN'T THEIRS AND THE LIST GOES ON. SHELDON AND SONS RETURNED TO PAINT MISSED AREAS AND TO REPAINT. I HAD TO POINT THEM OUT AND THERE ARE STILL AREAS THAT I HAVE TO FINISH BECAUSE OF PEELING OR WERE MISSED. I JUST DON'T WANT THEM HERE AGAIN. WHEN I TALKED TO MR. SHELDON ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF BALANCE REMAINING AND DIDN'T FEEL THE JOB WAS WORTH THE AMOUNT, HE MENTIONED A LETTER FROM HIS LAWYER AND FELT I WAS DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH. HE DID END UP TAKING SOME MONEY OFF THE AMOUNT OWED WHICH LEFT $4,400.00 FOR A SHODDY JOB AT BEST. SORRY THE REPORT ON ANGIE'S LIST DATED JUNE 08,2007 WASN'T POSTED BEFORE I HIRED SHELDON AND SONS.
Description of Work: Paint wood trim around windows and doors. Caulk and scrape areas of loose and peeling paint, spot "prime paint" bare wood areas. Repair rotten wood trim around garage door. Very simple job.

+ -1 moreI was expecting her to simply assure me that they do great work, send their best people, etc. I wanted to get this task accomplished and was ready to suspend judgment if she'd a least been polite. Instead, The representative became quite defensive and I was told "there's just no pleasing some people and If I already had concerns I should go somewhere else." I started to say "actually I'm starting to have concerns about this call . . ." before I could finish she hung up. They may be good or bad . . . I'll never know. But I couldn't imagine trying to successfully resolve any issue that might arise with this company.
Description of Work: I did not hire Sheldon & Sons for work, nor would I ever based on the initial phone call which was so unprofessional handled by their representative. After purchasing a large, 3 year old home, Sheldon & sons was recommended to me. I'd kept the contact information for over a year thinking they we're definitely the company I'd have do exterior and interior repainting. I joined Angies list to specifically check their reputation. The whole call was less than about 3-4 minutes. The representative answered the phone, asked what she could help me with . . . When I started she asked me to hold after the first few words I spoke. She came back and did this two more times - all within the first minute of the call. When I finally did get her attention - I referenced the need for an estimate for exterior and interior painting. I also referenced Angie's list and glowing comments as well as dissatisfied customers . . . to better understand their point of view.

+ -1 moreThey did a good job. I had looked for months to get a company that would not charge me a arm and a leg to get the work done. I thought their price was reasonable. They did break a ceramic tile towel rack but told me they would pay for it and install a new one if I found the replacement.
Description of Work: They put a liner on bathroom ceiling and skimmed out one of the walls. I did the priming and painting.

He helped me in the difficult color selection process and was available to answer questions throughout the job. I was assigned a team of painters. They were very professional and did a great job. The work is guaranteed and the company cheerfully came back to fix a couple small things.

+ -1 morePaul Robinson came out and gave me an estimate, and we scheduled the work for when I wanted. I had 2 specific days that I wanted the painting done. Dennis and his crew did a great job! They were neat, friendly, and professional (And on time). I have already contracted with them for some exterior painting in the fall.
Description of Work: I had 2 large hallways, my master bedroom and bath, and my kitchen ceiling painted. The painters took their time prepping the area and covering floors, carpets etc. They were neat and paid attention to detail.

+ -1 moreFinal cost was within $500 of estimate (wallpaper removal is on a per hour basis) and estimator forgot to include 2 closets. Paint crews were friendly, courteous and task oriented. The job took 3 days, the crew was on-time each day, and they actually asked permission to stay late the third day to finish and do final clean-up. We would absolutely re-hire & recommend this company.
Description of Work: Stripped wallpaper in LR, DR, powder room and down staircase. Painted entire main level and staircase of our Colonial.
