Salesman seemed very consciencious and good. Said that multiple-person team would be able to complete job in 3 days. After deposit made, no follow-up to confirm dates. Had to call salesman to confirm that they would be arriving on promised day. Schedule required THREE day completion but only one person showed to do all work. Brought in a couple of very part time helpers but still did not get work done until very last minute after FOUR days. Even then, customer had to do all cleanup from work including discarding used tools and materials and sweeping and cleaning heavy dust and dirt. During customer cleanup, determined that workers used CUSTOMER tools (paint brushes, roolers, roller extension poles, and other material) to do job. Job price was supposed to include labor and materials. Although worker was very friendly, did an excellent job, and worked very hard to complete job in required time frame, Sheldon manangement never visible during job to ensure that it was going right and never asked if customer was satisfied when calling to ask for final payment. Overall, final product was good (repairs and paint job) but management and customer service was very poor.

Estimate did not include any trim work. When team came to start painting Roge should on walls. This should have been included with estimate.

Overall the job went as planned. Sheldon and Sons did a great job. The painting looks great and with all the very careful prep work I am confident that this job will last more than 7 years before a touch up will be needed. They did a fabulous job on the sunroom which was the worst part of the job in terms of the paint conditions. The crew was pleasant and always polite. There were a couple of areas that needed to be revisited upon inspection and they took care of that without any issues. The also came back to free up some of the basement windows which ended up getting stuck closed when the paint dried. Again they responded promptly and without issue. I would highly recommend them again for any future painting I need done. They were not the least expensive but not the most expensive either. As a note, whatever painting company you use stress the need for thorough preparation work. The painting is actually in my opinion 25% of the work. The most important part is the preparation of the surface to be painted and Sheldon and Sons did a great job with this

From start to finish, working with the team from Sheldon and Sons was a dream. After I initially contacted Sheldon and Sons, Scott Sheldon was able to come out within a very reasonable amount of time to conduct the estimate. Originally, it was to paint the trim work only, but when I called back to ask about sealing our unique Oyster shell stucco, he was able to quote a new price within just a couple of days. He contacted various sealant vendors and found the product that would work the best on our house and stop the deterioration of the stucco brought on by decades of wear and the several severe storms we've had in the last year. He even worked with me to make certain that the price stayed within our budget. Our job was scheduled to start on November 29 at 8:00 a.m. and the two-man team showed up at exactly that time. They introduced themselves, explained exactly what they would be doing on the first day, gave me an idea of about how long the entire job should take, and began work almost immediately. They covered all exposed areas, bushes, etc. and they moved items away from the house that I was not able to move myself. At the end of the first day, Scott and Jim cleaned up all their equipment and any debris so that it was almost impossible to tell they had been there . . . except where they had worked looked fantastic! When they experienced some issues applying the clear sealant to the stucco, they immediately solved the problem, came up with a new solution, and lost no time. Overall all, they worked full days, were extremely courteous and professional, finished on time (4 days) and we were not inconvenienced at all during this project. I would highly recommend Sheldon and Sons, and this particular team, to anyone who asked. My house looks great!

The team did a great job painting the exterior of the house in the front, since power lines were a challenge to be painting around. I am thankful they were able to assist on such short notice and the job was completed to my satisfaction. Thanks guys!

. The painters showed up on schedule, and quickly proceeded to move the large furniture items out of the way. Everything was covered with tarps and plastic for protection. They went about the work in a highly professional manner. There were a few small mix-ups, having to do with the work order (not the painters!) which were resolved quickly, and to our satisfaction. One involved the shade of paint, which was immediately switched. We recommend listing exact paint type in writing to prevent any miscues. The second problem involved whether trim in kitchen was included, as well as painting the attached laundry room. Since the answer was not clear, Scott quickly and generously settled the matter. He also visited to check on the work a number of times during the project. Tim, the painter, worked steadily and efficiently, and was a pleasure to have. He cleaned up daily after work in a super-meticulous manner. The results are excellent, and we would readily recommend the company for any paint job!

The work was generally of good quality and the painter was polite and conscientous. There were a few spots missed and most of the windows (which were repainted) were left very dirty (double hung and the outer storm windows). I had to clean these afterward. Also, a window that previously opened was left stuck closed. I was unable to get these problems resolved because of the person in the office that I dealt with, who I assume is the office manager. I repeatedly had emails and phone calls not returned (I was always polite). At one point I sent a letter through the mail in an attempt to get a response. I finally got a return phone call from the office manager and a promise to dispatch the painter to get the problems fixed. It never happened. Throughout the process she acted as if I was bothering her and was outright rude at times. I give this company a "C" largely because of the interaction with the office. Any time I had to communicate with the office, it was a problem. UPDATE: I was never contacted by the company to resolve the issues after they wrote their response on Angies List.

Walter was our painter. His attention to detail is unmatched in perfection. He was polite, courteous and respectful of our property and busy lives. He was careful to be clean and organized at all times. We would highly recommend Walter/Sheldon and Sons for any paint job. The price was in line with other companies we had quote; applying the Angie's List discount made it even better. Money very well spent, and will definitely use them in the future as well as recommend them to anyone who asks.

They do exceptional work and if you ever have a problem they will come back out and fix it. I have worked with Greg many times over the past few years and refuse to call anyone else. I recently moved otherwise I would continue to use them. They are good, reliable, honest workers and are my number 1 recommendation for just about anything.

Called for an estimate. Scott came over promptly and provided a detailed estimate, 2 painters 3 days. Scheduled for Monday 8/20/2012 but because of truck breaking down, they couldn't come til Tuesday 8/21/2012. They provided one more painter to have it done by Wednesday as originally promised. The team headed by Jason was excellent. Three very professional men. They did excellent work and were very clean. Arrived by 7:30 on Tuesday morning and completed the project by Wednesday early afternoon. They even helped me out on a few extra things. Very nice guys, great painters. I would highly recommend them and I would ask for Jason and his team.

It had been years since they had any treatment and my deck and side porch were not in good shape- the wood had faded to an ash color and had started to splinter. I love to entertain friends and grill outside but with my deck in that condition, I was too embarrassed to even have guests over. I found Sheldon & Sons online and decided to give them a call. Much to my surprise, I received an estimate and thorough description of the work that would be done and was able to schedule for them to come service my deck the following day. When the crew arrived (on time!), they provided me with a wealth of paint samples to choose from and helped me choose the best stain and color options given the condition of the wood and design of my home. I was so pleased with their personable professionalism, attention to detail, and efficiency- the job was finished within three days (as promised!), and just in time for summer entertaining! I am finally able to proudly use my deck again and love all of the compliments I receive on Sheldon & Sons' fine work. A+ service and craftsmanship that was worth every cent!

What a first class operation. S and S was consistently professional, honest and easy to deal with. They were on time with their first appointment and provided a fair and detailed estimated that accurately outlined the proposal. The project was assigned to Sam who was our main contact person and very professional and accessible. The work started one day ahead of schedule and was completed over about 10 days. They were neat and the woodworking and painting couldn't have been done better. We are very happy with the final results and would recommend that anyone in our area consider Sheldon and Sons for painting or exterior woodwork such as cedar siding. Thank you S and S!!!

They were polite and prompt. They were punctual and professional. They cleaned up after themselves. The quality of their work was excellent.

The Sheldon & Sons bid was the most detailed of the three we requsted. They gave ujs three options based on qualtiy of paint and length of warranty. The price included sraping and patching plus primer and two coats of paint.The two workman came on time and were unobtrusive and polite. they did not leave a mess. They made sure the windows were not painted shut so we could open them easily.. The work took about a week with a little rain delay. The office was responsive and pleasant to deal with. Good job all around.

Overall, it was an interesting experience. I initially contacted Sheldon & Sons on April 2 to paint the exterior window box. When talking to Heather about the cost, she advised she was aware of the 10% discount but not the $75 senior discount on their website.. Heather referred me to Nancy (office manager) who was also unaware of the $75 senior discount. Nancy did check the website and called me back to apologize and confirm that indeed it was on their website. She set up the appointment with their representative for April 5 to come out and give me an estimate. Because of an emergency, Greg Gramlich had to reschedule for April 6. He looked at what I wanted done and left me with an impressive package that included his detailed estimate. I spoke with Greg again on April 11 to include the railings. I also let him know that no one had contacted me to set up the date for the work to begin. He told me I needed to sign and mail the proposal to authorize the job, which is what I did. After not hearing from anyone, I called Nancy on May 1 to see when the painting would be done. She indicated they had been very busy with jobs previously scheduled and would try to move some jobs around. Additionally, we had had several rain storms which added to the situation. I was contacted on May 1 and told the painter would try get to me by the weekend. To my surprise, Walter arrived on May 3 to do the painting. Because of rain storms, he completed everything early morning May 5. He was professional and focused on the work at hand. I am very pleased with the way the window box and door look. My only recommendation is that the customer should be advised of the procedure so that he/she knows what to do, etc.

The overall job was excellent.

From beginning to end the experience with Sheldon was perfect. Dealing with Nancy in Sheldon's office was a pleasure. What a sweet woman. When she visited our home to pick up the contract, she seemed like an old friend. When we finished negotiation of our contract, a date was set to begin the project. The workers arrived as promised on time and couldn't have been more accommodating. I couldn't have imagined painters being as classy as were Sheldon's crew. They took pride in their work and treated the job as if it were their own home. If we need painting done in the future, we will definitely use Sheldon.

They did a great job and I was satisfied.

All work was first-class, but the repainting of the kitchen cabinets was extraordinary. The cabinets looked like new, as if the finish was baked on.

Estimate given , needed work ASAP. They came in, took care of quickly, as promised. Thorough cleanup afterwards. As good as could be expected.

The interior painting was quite good, but there was a couple of places that they didn't do a good job preparing some of the surfaces and now those areas are starting to peal. I am not sure that I would recommend them because of their failure to prepare the painting area, which has started to cause an problem for me. Their pricing was also a little competitive, but also on the high side on their competitors.

I used an Angie's List coupon. It took a couple of weeks for them to actually show up because they had a busy schedule and it had been raining. Otherwise they were very prompt. They called me on the day they said they would be coming. I gave them a general description of what paint color I needed. They went ahead and found the color. They did the work very quickly. They came up with multiple people and were very professional. I thought they did an excellent job. They are a really great company. I wish they weren't so expensive. It's usually very hard to get me on the phone, so they were very willing to communicate by e-mail. I thought that was really nice.

Nice and helpful office staff...owner does all estimates....arrived on time..fair price...very courteous and professional...JOB LOOKS GREAT!!..HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY...will defininitely use them again!!!

I can't say enough good things about these guys. They take courtesy and professionalism to an extreme. The staff is so very polite as well the owner, Scott, very considerate and understanding of the difficulties involved with the job. Before Sheldon came in, the drywall looked awful since we had to open large sections up and make holes in order to provision cabling conduits and electrical outlets above the fireplace. There were many other dings from years of use and bad patch work from when the walls were originally installed. The guys came in on time and wasted no time taking care of everything. It took them 2 consecutive days to complete their work, one day to patch and let the patchwork dry and the second day to sand and paint. The results were absolutely amazing. After Sheldon was done, you would think we had just moved into a brand new house! The walls are now perfectly smooth and the paint looks wonderful. I will have Sheldon back and highly recommend them to everyone who might be thinking about a home project involving painting and drywall.
