Steve the Fireplace Guy

Awesome job! Clearly, the technician was an expert at his work and he did so efficiently and well. I also learned a lot by watching him as he explained what he was doing and why.

Right from the beginning they were extraordinary. They set up an appointment and showed up on time. The installers were knowledgeable, trustworthy and polite. What really made this service special was that the owner, Steve, stopped by and checked their work. He improved on an already excellent job, adjusting the fire logs a bit, etc. When the county inspector stopped by he said Steve is the excellent, that he is a perfectionist. Before calling Steve's company I had another highly rated provider do an estimate. It was much higher and the fellow did not inspire confidence or seem to care. I thought it was important, especially with a gas hookup to have a company that went the extra mile. This was an excellent experience in every way.

After Yeager Fireplace couldn't finish the job I called Steve the Fireplace Guy to see if they would complete the work. Sure enough they scheduled me in, diagnosed the problem and resolved it all in a timely and affordable fashion. They worked with parts that I had already ordered per Yeager Fireplace and were spot on from every customer service perspective. Kyle, the service tech, was fabulous! They are the only folks I plan to call in the future! Glad to hear that they may be expanding services to HVAC too!

It was easy making an appointment over email and we were glad that there were Saturday appointments available within a week or so. Kyle was awesome - he showed up on time and got everything up and running. He even gave us a 5% discount for finding them through Angie's List. Having no previous experience with fireplaces, we didn't ask enough questions about how to properly operate it, so when Kyle left, we turned off the fireplace and couldn't figure out how to turn it back on. We reached out to the company and within 2 weeks, Kyle came back and showed us step-by-step instructions on what we should/should not do. We were pleased that there was no additional charge and he was more than happy to show us what we needed to do. We will be using this company in the future for all of our fireplace maintenance and service!

It went great. Kyle showed up on Saturday on time, and diagnosed the problem immediately. He got the materials needed to fix it and had it repaired quickly. Kyle was pleasant, interesting to talk to, and very competent. Excellent job.

I called Steve in late July of 2014 for an initial consultation. Steve came to my house and presented many different gas fireplaces to choose from. He looked over and measured the existing fireplace and water heater and took a look at where gas was available and how it would have to be routed to the fireplace. He spent a considerable amount of time explaining everything to me and taking notes. He was very friendly and professional. After a few days I received his proposal and decided to have the work done. Steve came out to my house again in early August to double check some measurements and I paid him the deposit to get the ball rolling. He told me that he should have the Fireplace parts and material in by mid to late September. I ended up waiting until November for the fireplace to come in. I was told that the vendor Steve ordered the fireplace from messed up the order which led to the long wait time. It also took longer than normal because a custom surround was needed. Regardless, it took two and a half months to get the fireplace and material needed. During this time period I was not in a terrible hurry to have the work done, but response could have been better to my inquiries as to what was happening. In early November, Steve and his crew came out to finally install the Hot water heater and Fireplace. Steve scheduled two days to accomplish the task at hand. The work went smoothly and Steve and his crew were very careful not to cause damage while removing the old hot water heater. They put down floor protection and made sure things were cleaned up afterwards. I remember saying the the floor in the areas they were working was probably cleaner after they finished than when they started. After 2 days about 80% of the work was done. The hot water heater was completely replaced and the fireplace's infrastructure was in. But finishing work still needed to be done after the inspector approved things. This was expected. The inspector came out the next week and approved everything. I quickly called Steve to let him know about the approval and to schedule the completion of the fireplace. He said he would let me know when he could come out to finish the job. It took me several emails and phone calls but he finally came out 10 days later to finish the job. Again, the communication could have been better. In the end, I was very happy with the job Steve did. He was very meticulous and went to great lengths to make sure things were done right. The fireplace was beautifully done and heats the room well. I love it! The hot water heater install was also done very well. I think Steve is really a great guy and does first class work. Better communication would have made this a perfect experience. However the quality of work more than made up for this. All in all, I'm very pleased with the work.

Scheduling was a breeze. Our technician arrived right on time and was courteous, polite and extremely thorough. He took the time to walk me through his process and did a great job.

The work was done professionally and meticulously and I will definitely call them in the future.

I had several quotes and his was the best. I had another contractor tell me that "Steve" was the only other contractor he'd recommend. The county inspector told me that he hadn't failed an inspection in over 8 years. His lead time was shorter than others, his responsiveness was great, his crew was excellent, did the job without cutting through an existing pantry unit like another contractor had proposed to do, chipped away at some of the brick to allow us to use a larger unit than proposed by others, the work was done as scheduled, clean-up was fine, ... I can't recommend them more highly.

He came in an average amount of time and was extremely friendly and helpful. He have a reasonable estimate and left and Then I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN! I called one time and got the receptionist once. All other times I had to leave a message and they still have not returned my call in three weeks. I chose them because of their A rating on Angie's list but that did not do me any good. Poor service to say the least. Beware!

The repairman was on time, professional, neat and efficient. He made sure everything was working properly including the remote.

My non-vented gas fireplace had been setting off the smoke alarms whenever I turned it on, rendering it unusable. I had contacted 2 other vendors who could find nothing wrong with the system and suggested that I open the flue when using the fireplace. I explained to them that it was non-vented and didn't use a flue but they apparently didn't believe me when I told them I'd used it for 3 years previously with no problem. (The dust was visible even to me, but no one said Oh, it needs to be cleaned.) Kyle was scheduled to come between 3 and 5pm. He arrived at 3:45. He removed his shoes at the door (unnecessary, but nice of him), took one look at the fireplace and could tell it merely needed cleaning. He took it completely apart to clean and vacuum each part of it. He installed new "embers" that give the flames a realistic glow. He left the area immaculate. They offer 5% off to Angies List members, so the $225 became $213.75. Well worth the money to have a fireplace I can enjoy this winter! I would absolutely recommend him for any gas fireplace work, whether installation or servicing.

We contacted Steve the Fireplace guy and heard nothing back for almost 2 weeks, We sent him another email requesting an estimate for work and then was responded to the next day. They were nice, saying the were slammed and sorry for not getting back to us but the work that we were asking for was not for them. But did offer another contact for our services

This was the first company we called and decided on the spot that we would use them. Kyle knew his stuff and was fabulous. He was extremely friendly, courteous and you enjoyed having him in your home. We needed a part replaced and he had to pick it up about 1/2 hour away...came back and everything worked great. After he left, we did have an issue with the fireplace turning off and on by itself and he came back later that evening to change out another part. That is dedication! I have already recommended this company to all my neighbors!

Kyle did a great job. We had worked with other incompetent fireplace providersi. These folks really know what they are doing. I will NEVER use anyone else?

After having a rather negative experience trying to schedule with another fireplace cleaning company, this was a refreshingly pleasant experience from start to finish. It took about 5 minutes to schedule an appointment for a date that worked for me. Kyle arrived on time and was very professional and courteous. He cleaned and inspected our gas fireplace and also did some touch up paint inside the fireplace. He took off his shoes when he entered the house and kept his work area clean. He said to contact the company if we had any problems and he would be right out to fix it. I will definitely be using this company again next year.

Kyle from the "Steve the Fireplace Guy" hanged the batteries for our remote and our fireplace, fixed a malfunctioning control panel (swapped it out with a new one for free), and buffed and polished our fireplace until it shone and worked perfectly. Kyle provided us with a short tutorial in battery changing on our one year old system, and basically taught us again how the manual portion of the controls work, as we normally control the fireplace with our remote. Kyle was very generous with his time and help and ensured that the repair work was covered by warranty, which was very generous. Kyle did an excellent job. We are extremely pleased with all the work that this firm has done for us. We are heavy users of our gas fireplace, which looks and operates very well. It is a joy to us and our animals. This was an excellent experience. The repair technician was Kyle and he was very competent and knew his stuff. He arrived on time, was very good about keeping the entire area clean, and did outstanding work. The job was done right the first time. The fireplace works much better than it ever did before. The price was very good. I would not hesitate to use this company again and would recommend it to anyone for them to use.

He was great. Very professional. Took his shoes off when entering my house. Took pride in his work, going the extra mile to make sure everything looked top notch. Very personable and easy to deal with. I don't have anything to compare the cost to, but $490 for 3 fireplaces and about 2 1/2 - 3 hours of work didn't seem out of line. They also warranty work for a year.

Steve came out to give us the estimate. Initially, he responded to me quickly and came right out. He was very cordial and knowledgeable. He was detailed and explained everything we would need for the work, including a permit. He was the only contractor who said that we would need a permit for the job. We wanted to hire him for the work, but he has not got back with us yet.

We received several bids, but he was by far the least expensive. He was quick to schedule our appointment, they showed up on the time and when they were done the area was immaculate. We love our new fireplace and couldn't be happier with the work.

He was very nice. Cleaned up after himself and later gave me an estimate for additional work which I did have done.

Steve arrived within the agreed upon time window and was friendly as well as professional. I found Steve personable and felt comfortable asking questions. He was careful with the floors and rugs; removing his shoes in the foyer and spreading out drop cloths in the family room. This is was a nice change to some providers that don't seem to care that this is my home. As we had recently moved into our home, Steve took the time to explain the workings and features of the fireplace, and noted it was a good unit, which I liked to hear, while he was diagnosing the issue. He was swiftly able to determine the problem and fix it, which turned out to be a misaligned plate in the chimney. As it was a quick fix, Steve did not charge for the visit, despite my insistence in wanting to pay him something for his time. As a result, we have scheduled a routine cleaning service next week and will continue to use Steve in the future. Steve operates a small business which I believe allows him to provide the personal service I received, I'd definitely recommend him.

Steve is very personable and knowledgeable and will provide solid advice. We converted our wood burning fireplace with an efficient gas insert. More than competitive cost-wise in comparison with other brick and mortar fireplace stores in the area. Working with Steve and his staff was a pleasure. We will definitely call Steve when we replace our other fireplace (gas log).
