He renewed the batteries in the remote control. Everything looks and works as good if not better than when it was new. I will have him periodically perform this service from now on.

Best way to describe Steve is professional, personable, passionate, precise, a true perfectionist. He loves what he does and it shows in the end product. His attention to detail is remarkable and he is a pleasure to have in the house which is important when you have a week-long project. We look forward to working with him again.

+ -1 moreDon’t use this business if more than 1 service call is needed. First call was good and Steve appeared friendly and professional. However, needed a follow up call. Over the last 4 months, it has been impossible to communicate with him. Have left numerous emails, phone calls, text messages, and website submission. Has not responded to any of my attempts to schedule further service. Job still unfinished.

+ -1 moreI had two vent-less gas fireplace and needed to be check for safety and cleaning. I scheduled it during the time they were running their specials. I also get a discount for cleaning more than one fireplace. Kyle came on time and worked on the fireplaces. One fireplace was a bit dirtier than the other (which we don't use at all last winter). We don't use our main fireplace but maybe 4 times per year so I knew they could not be very dirty. Kyle also replaced the batteries in the control located in the fireplace. Kyle was very professional and pleasant. He put a cover over my fireplace and floor to keep the dirt away from my light carpet and hardwood floor. I would probably use them again but I do think they are expensive even with all the discounts

They spent as much time with our fireplaces as all previous services together and frequently asked for preferences, e.g in the arrangement of the logs. Steve is very knowledgeable, and you have the impression that he really enjoys what he is doing. Though you flinch a little when the price of the service is quoted to you considering the quality of the job and that you will be able to enjoy your fires worry free makes it worth your while.

+ -1 moreSteve once suggested that I run the gas logs at least once a month during the summer to keep the wasps out, and since then, I've had no wasps! But the starter wore out (we've had this set for more then 10 years). Kyle replaced the started, and it works likes new now! I am very happy with these guys.

+ -1 moreWithin 10 minutes, the technician (Kyle) discovered the problem. He even called the fireplace manufacturer to insure he was ordering the correct part. I wasn't charges a penny until he returned a week later and installed the missing piece. I have had no problem since (about 2 years ago)!! I can't say enough nice things about this company...
Description of Work: Installation of an electrical connection was not installed as it originally should have been. This was after I had the FP for 3 years and had the company that installed it over multiple times, and they couldn't solve the problem...

+ 0 moreAs Steve is in demand, there was a wait for the appointment for an evaluation. When he had a schedule conflict come up, his communication was good and the appointment was rescheduled to a mutually convenient time later that day. Steve arrived within the 2 hour window and gave me several reasonable options for this older but classic model unit, including replacing it with an updated version. Steve carefully examined, cleaned, and restored the gas log fireplace to full function. We chose to add an optional remote control for the starter switch, which Steve installed and charged for appropriately. He listened to and answered questions well. It was a pleasure to work with Steve, who really seems to enjoy this work. It was worth the wait.

+ 0 moreGreat Job and worth the wait!! Steve is a perfectionist and detailed oriented. After cleaning both fireplaces, he insulted areas where cold air was coming in, and reset the logs and embers making a beautiful display. It does take awhile to get on Steve's schedule but well worth the wait. So plan ahead!! The cost for maintenance on two FP's (225. ea.). The cost was comparable to others, but the service can not be beat; far exceeding other Co.s I've used. An additional cost was added for a part that required replacement.

+ 0 moreSteve is a well-mannered and most experienced gentleman I ever met. He checked my unit and told me exactly what the problem is without pulling the unit. He said that I do not have bad fans. The noise is related to the loose wires touching the fans. When the unit was installed, the mechanics failed to tie up the loose wires near the dual fan assembly area. Steve not only fixed the fans issue, he also fixed the clod draft coming down from the chimney. He took time to insulate the chimney and performed complete service. He spent time to inspect and tested the Fireplace to make sure that we are fully satisfied with the performance. He is absolutely the best technician. He is better than the deal technicians. He saved us a lot money and headache. I highly recommend him. He worth every penny. After his visit, we have complete peace of mind.
Description of Work: Repaired Gas Fireplace. My "Heat & Glo" Gas Fireplace started making loud grinding noise when the fans start running. The unit was only couple of months old when the problem started. I call the local authorized Heat & Glo dealer in my area in Maryland. The sent couple of young inexperienced kids to fix the problem. They charged me $185.00 for servicing the brand new few months old unit. They ordered new fans. It took few months to order and replace the fans. Few months later the unit started making the same loud noise. I called for service again. This time the mechanic, without even pulling out the unit to inspect the fans, told me that the fans need to be replaced. The unit now is more than one year and out of warranty. He wanted $600.00 to replace the fans. I finally decided to check on Angie's List to find a reputable mechanic. Based on their reviews, I was able to find "Steve the Fireplace Guy". I am so glad I found Steve.

+ -1 moreThe first tech they sent out appeared to do a great job, he left and the class was crystal clear and the fireplace seemed to work great..............fast forward and the fireplace stopped working, the pilot light kept going out, parts were left off etc. One call to the office and Steve ( the owner ) personally came out to make things right, he apologized for his other Tech ( who no longer works for Steve ) and got to work, long story short and 6 hours later my fireplace is *** good as new. Steve did a great job and I feel very confident that this time my fireplace is good to go for another 20 years. I go through life giving others the benefit of the doubt and I understand certain things are just out of ones control at times, Steve stepped up and did the right thing and made everything correct. I would highly recommend Steve The Fireplace Guy, just be sure you get Steve :)
