I was very please with the service performed by Steve the Fireplace Guy.

Steve arrived on time and cleaned and repaired a gas fireplace that had not worked well for years. He did excellent work and as a bonus is a really nice person.

Steve is a consummate professional. His expertise in the planning and design process was beyond what we expected, offering many helpful suggestions that we didn't even know to consider. His concern for the aesthetic as well as the practical was above and beyond - he didn't just install the gas log, but improved the appearance of the entire fireplace, raised the flooring to make sure it displayed well, and painted the interior to provide a good backdrop. His plumbing work on the gas line was meticulous, a fact recognized positively by the county inspector, and well above code standards. We are newlyweds and new homeowners and he worked with us on the price to meet our budget where all other vendors we contacted just declined. As he is an independent business providing his own work, we experienced some significant delays in our process (including some winter flu and problems with subcontractors), but Steve took responsibility and made everything right. I can't ask for more in either quality or service. Overall, we ended up with a better result than we dreamed of, and we appreciate the personalized service.

Steve did an amazing job cleaning and repairing a propane fireplace that had not been used for many years. He clearly enjoys his work and his attention to every detail was outstanding. He meticulously cleaned my fireplace, serviced all the needed parts, replaced the thermocouple, and brought the fireplace back to life! Despite a late evening appointment, he took extra time to paint the firebox, clean the screen & glass, and answer all of my questions. Steve was very knowledgeable and personable, and performed this service at a very fair price. I am thrilled with the result and cannot recommend him highly enough.

I signed a contract on Oct 8 and sent him about $8,000 as a deposit. We agreed on the installation date to be November 10-11 with inspection and completion on Nov 14. His guys showed up and began the install as planned on Nov 10. However, they broke our water heater in the process of turning it back on at the end of the first day. They didn't tell us that they had broken it and we didn't realize until we woke up with no hot water the next day. We called Steve to discuss this and he said he understood what had happened and would cover any costs related to replacing the broken part (which is the knob or valve that turns the heater on; his workers had cracked this and it was no longer functional; we brought in an emergency water heater guy who managed to get the heater back on with elbow grease and duct tape but it is only a temporary fix). The inspection came on Tues Nov 15 and the fireplaces passed, but the electric work hadn't been finished and the surrounds weren't installed. His guys came to finish that work on Wed Nov 16. They arrived at 2:00 PM and we still working, with no end in sight, at 8:30 PM. They were having some sort of problem getting the electric work completed. Since my kids were getting ready for bed and had school the next day, I asked them to come back and finish the work the next day. They agreed, and cleaned up and left. Since then, we've been "ghosted" by Steve. We have called and emailed many times trying to schedule the rest of the work and have not received any response. At this point, after a month of waiting, with two fireplaces still not finished or working, I will have to hire someone else to finish the job, and have to pay to get a new hot water heater, as the part they broke cannot be replaced. I don't know what is going on with this business, but this is not someone who should have an A or a superior rating on Angies List. If he had at least returned a call, and explained that some kind of emergency had occurred, we would be understanding. But there has been absolutely nothing for over a month, and for me that's just unacceptable.

Steve initiated the process well. He is very amiable. Contract was signed. (There was no completion date - my mistake.) I paid him $6250.00 to purchase materials. His men showed on the scheduled day and started the installation. Everything went well and done well except the $4000.00 gas insert was not installed. Steve said insert was broken and he would have store replace it. That was 11/7/16. Each week I called to get an update. I was told "You will know when we know." Now, no one returns calls. It is 11/24/16 and I have no gas fireplace insert and no one answering calls. I have sent an email to the business address indicating I am forced to begin legal action. I got no response. I would not use this company for expensive major jobs. From the Angie's reviews, they do well with little single stop jobs. Buyer beware.

Steve came exactly at the scheduled time, he opened the fireplace and found the reason of no working. Then he did all the necessary steps to fix it, replaced the electrical outlet, and he cleaned fireplace inside very carefully, and he also cleaned the front glass and frame of the fireplace. Our fireplace works now perfectly and it also looks like a brand new! We were very happy having such a great professional to help us with our fireplace problem.

Not well at all. Steve came out to check out our fireplace in mid August. It took a few weeks before I got any response, which was for him to give me an estimate of work in a "few" days. It's been two weeks since then and we have not heard anything from this company. I would have appreciated any communication to explain the delay. I had to wonder how they can run a business this way.

At our request, he turned off the gas to the fireplace for the Summer. We scheduled an appointment early in the Fall to place the new valve in the fireplace. Steve is attempting to get the fireplace manufacturer to provide parts on warranty. As always, Steve did a terrific job and was very pleasant to work with. We strongly recommend Steve for all fireplace work.

We used this company in 2014 for the annual cleaning and inspection of our gas fireplace and it went great and we had no issues so we had them come out again for our 2015 annual cleaning and inspection in October 2015. Shortly after we began using the fireplace this winter, we noticed a strange smell that did not go away after using the fireplace a few times. We also noticed that one of the logs in the fireplace was starting to turn black in various places (the wood has never changed color previously). Since our fireplace is one that is sealed off and we cannot access, we called the company and Kyle came out in February 2016 to check out the fireplace. He said the smell was likely due to dust burning off and he adjusted the embers, which he said was causing the wood to turn black (note - this is not what I was told when I called to schedule someone to come out to look at the fireplace, I was told this just "happens overtime to wood") but was unable to clean the black off the wood due to the type of material the wood was, but did make the black marks somewhat lighter. I requested that Steve contact me since Kyle could not remove the black off the wood and Kyle said that Steve would contact me by the end of the following day. After 4 days had passed and I still hadn't heard from Steve and the black spots were now even worse on the wood indicating that Kyle did not fix the problem, I attempted to contact Steve via phone (no one ever answered, so I had to keep leaving voicemails) or email but my calls or emails were never returned. Since the company refuses to contact me in order to resolve this issue, I had to resort to filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which is currently in process. Very frustrated that they damaged the wood in our fireplace and more so that they will not be professional enough to return my calls or email so that this issue can be rectified.

Steve is a real professional. He made excellent recommendations and we are extremely happy with the product!

Kyle showed up right on time and went straight to work fixing our gas fireplace (the pilot light had gone out). He repaired it quickly and cleaned up the fireplace very nicely. When we had a tiny issue later on, he returned and quickly fixed the problem (for no charge). We would definitely recommend Steve the Fireplace Guy to anyone who is looking for great service at a very reasonable price.

Since my gas fireplace was installed 4 years ago, the pilot light never stayed on as it should and the remote was unreliable. On multiple occasions, I had the company who installed the fireplace over repeatedly, but they could not seem to fix the problem. Over the years I paid them more than $1000 -- wasted my money!! Fortunately, thanks to Angie's List, I discovered 'Steve the Fireplace Guy'. Kyle came to my house, and in about 15 minutes, he realized that a transformer was never installed which was the reason I was having a problem. Kyle even called the fireplace manufacturer to make certain he was ordering the correct part. Now that the work is complete, the Fireplace works perfectly. Furthermore, the combined cost for 2 service calls plus the transformer was less than I was billed for a single useless service call from the original installation company. Finally, I want to praise Kyle as a lovely person, who arrived on time, was neat, professional and awesome ain diagnosing and fixing my problem!!

Tried to contact this vendor after reading favorable reviews. Sent email and left phone messages And got no esponses. I don't know if this business is still open.

Called to schedule an appointment ith Steve The Fireplace Guy and left message. Call was immediately returned and appointment was scheduled for 7:00 PM the next day. On the appointment day got notified I could be moved up to 5:00 PM so I was delighted. Kyle arrived on time and started to work his magic. He voluntarily slipped off his shoes upon entering the house and I showed him to the fireplace. I explained that the vented gas fireplace was cutting off periodically and the remote control to it wasn't working. Kyle layed down a drop cloth and went to work breaking down the fireplace logs and embers. He vacuumed everything out, cleaned all parts and replaced the thermopile. He put everything back together, clicked on the remote, and everything stared working again. Kyle was pleasant, professional and extremely knowledgeable about his job. I am so happy I found this company and will definitely be using them again.

4 Calls, 2 emails and a voicemail over 9 days and cannot get a response. Happy to change my review if I ever hear back.

Kyle was excellent. He showed up on time, explained the process, diagnosed the problem and fixed it. I was expecting a few hundred dollars to get the fireplace fixed but it was just a bad switch, which he replaced for free! What impressed me most was his professionalism, honesty and his work ethics. He was in and out in less than an hour. Because of their phone issues, it was a bit harder to get a hold of someone to make an appointment. Email was the only mean to get their response but they did respond in 48 hours. Just be patient, these guys are good!

Kyle came to do the service. He was terrific. Explained what he did, was very thorough and personable. My only problem was trying to get in touch with Steve to schedule the service. After several phone calls and two emails, I finally received a return email explaining they were having phone problems. I almost went to another company! Steve responded just in time. Kyle came right on time and did a great job. Hopefully, the phone issues will get straightened out before they lose too much business!

Steve and Remmy are very pleasant and their work was great.

They were friendly and knowledgeable. Communication with them was easy; we mostly did it with the internet. They came when they said they would, and were dependable. We are very happy with the fan as well; the original fireplace did not have one.

I first used Steve back in January of 2014 to replace a damaged part in my fireplace. i was really impressed with his company. I needed work to be done on my gas line to add a gas grill. Steve came out and gave me an estimate for adding a tie in to my gas line to connect my gas grill. Steve was very knowledgeable and professional. Steve's workers came out a few weeks later and installed the tie in and connect my grill without issue. About a year later one section of tie in used to plug the gas line when not in use deteriorated within a year. One email to Steve and about a week later he sent someone over to replace the plug. Top notch guy. I would highly recommend Steve to anyone needing any type of gas or fireplace work.

Because I have been in Florida for the past two winter seasons, the fireplace has not been used. Therefore, Steve took $100 off each of the fireplaces because he didn't have major work to do. Still, he had to remove the glass and put in a fair amount of time. I feel his pricing was so very fair. He didn't take advantage of the situation; moreover, he agreed to install two new smoke detectors and 2 new carbon monoxide detectors. He is terrific!

Great work, I love my new fireplace. Very punctual and staff is very nice. Lots of communication and responsiveness.

Kyle was on time, very pleasant and very diligent. He disassembled each fireplace, cleaned or replace components, and reassembled them. One had not worked for a couple years but he was able to fix. He even re-ordered the artificial logs for a better flame and appearance. He completed the work in about two hours and cleaned up completely. About a month later one of the fireplaces stopped working. We called and Kyle returned promptly. He again disassembled the fireplace, located a failed component, replaced it, reassembled the fireplace and left everything clean. He did not charge for this second visit.
