Ultimate Flooring Design Center

Ultimate Flooring Design Center came out and installed Luxury Vinyl Tile on my entire first floor townhouse. We worked with Ryan and he was very professional and friendly. Ryan provided us with all the necessary information and answered all our questions. The estimate was about $1,000 cheaper than the other estimates we received. The installer was very professional and got the job done on time. We are completely satisfied and happy with our decision to choose Ultimate Flooring Design. Our plan is to eventually get the carpet replaced in some rooms, and we will look no further than Ultimate Flooring. I highly recommend them.

They came to our house, took measurements and encouraged us to come to their showroom so they could give us an accurate quote. Worked with us to find just the right flooring. Showed up on time and worked hard to install the floor in a professional and timely manner. The job was clean and perfect and done very professionally.

I liked their professionalism. They were very thorough in the estimate. They were prompt with coming out and they were on time. I did not go with them for the hardwood, due to the pricing being pretty high. I might be using them for a rug, since the carpet we liked they are able to turn into a rug.

They were a great company. I would definitely use them and recommend them to others. Unfortunately we did not use them, since we moved. Their prices were very competitive though.

Overall, our experience was a good one. Ultimate Flooring's pricing was very competitive and they were able to schedule the job promptly. They were the only company to mention testing the cement slab floor for moisture, noting that high moisture levels could void any manufacturer warranty. Because of high moisture levels, they installed the flooring using a 'dry' method. The installers had to do some cement work around our fireplace to smooth out the floor. The first time they did it, the floor wasn't quite smooth and we weren't happy with it aesthetically. When we called the company, they were very responsive, sending out the owner within a few days to check it and then another installer to fix it. My only (minor) complaint with the experience was that communication between the estimator (Ryan) and installation crew didn't seem to be especially clear. We expected our cement floor would be skim coated with a new layer of cement (per our conversation with Ryan when he came to do the estimate). The installers didn't know about this. However, they phoned Ryan while they were here and carried out the work without any complaints. We also had to have the moisture test done twice because the first time an outdated method was used. Again, it just seemed that information wasn't being shared with everyone who needed it. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend Ultimate Flooring and will consider them again for flooring needs. My only recommendation would be that the consumer clarify exactly what will be done and request that all steps of the work to be done be written in the proposal to avoid any miscommunication when installation begins.

We were looking to have them do laminate flooring. I thought the experience was good.

They also took the old carpet away, free of charge. I think they did a great job and they have great pricing. This company was referred to me by my interior designer. I plan on using them again.

They matched existing hardwood flooring in the house. They did the office, bedroom and a large master closet. It took them one day They were extremely personable, professional and they did a super job. I wished I would give them an A+. Their pricing was also respectful and competitive with other quotes we got.

The whole job went fantastically. This is the second floor job I've entrusted to this provider. The first was installation of maple hardwood in my family room in 2013. This bathroom job entailed removal of old flooring and replacement of some underlying wood which had softened due to a leak. So, they tore out the old vinyl flooring, replaced some of the underlying wood, installed "underlayment," supplied and installed painted shoemolding, re-installed oak transition at doorway to bathroom and installed the new tile. (It also included removal of the toilet - they would have reinstalled it, but I'm having a plumber come back to do that.) Miguel, the technician on the job was terrific - he also managed to get rid of some creaking sounds I had in the floor. Also - I like the product - it looks like real tile. I've had several friends look at the floor since it was done - they all think it's ceramic tile. I didn't want to spend the money for a complete bathroom re-do since the house is only 10 years old - this new flooring helped give it a new appearance and "makeover" without the cost of a whole renovation. Many thanks to David Harris and the Ultimate Flooring crew for once again giving me just what I asked for in a new floor! They are my "go to" flooring people.

Dave Harris was referred to us by a friend in Annapolis who used him to replace the tile in their master bath. We met Dave and from the outset he was professional, courteous, tremendously responsive and provided superior service. His installers Kurt and Bob are wonderful and work with you every step of the way in every aspect of the installation process. They are patient and really good at their craft. There isn't a tile related job that I would not trust them to do regardless of the scope and complexity. They take pride in their work and it shows in the results.

The job was originally estimated to take 2 days but was completed in 1 day. The bid included the plumbing work to remove and replace the bathroom fixtures, a plus that was not included from other bidders. The crew stayed for 12 hrs to complete the job. Only one small issue required a second visit; a nail penetration thru the top of a board. The board was replaced the next day for this very happy customer. Definitely a winning contractor!

Love my new carpet! I got personal attention from the owner, Dave, and the results are exactly what I wanted. The two guys who installed it did a fabulous job with a lot of attention to detail and making the job perfect. I had some issues with loose floorboards and for a very reasonable fee, they took the time to fix all of that first, even adding some joists below in the basement to firm it all up. I am a customer for life now. Thanks Dave and crew!

Without hesitation we would recommend Ultimate Flooring to anyone interested in high quality craftsmanship! From the initial contact to the installation of the tile, the whole experience was professional. I just looked back and see that we exchanged over 40 emails with Dave as we searched for just the right tile for our den. He took great interest in our project and was extremely informative along the way. We were moving into a new house and wanted to have the den tiled before the move. Dave met us there with our realtor and the next day he gave us an estimate for the job. We made several appointments at the Design Center with Dave to select tile, grout, etc. and had Dave's undivided attention. To save time and money we removed and disposed of the prior flooring ourselves. Dave was very flexible in the scheduling of the work and the guys were punctual, professional, and courteous. The finished product looks fantastic. We couldn't be happier with our interactions with Ultimate Flooring.

Ultimate Flooring was selected, out of four flooring companies providing price quotes, to install hardwood flooring in the top floor of the house. The selection was made based on my interaction with showroom staff, Angie's list reviews, and the fact that they would level the floor as opposed to having to hire a general contractor to do so. Their price was not the least expensive but I thought they would provide the best value - quality work with an acceptable price. Their price for the hardwood floor installation was all inclusive (not counting the stairs and leveling) while other companies broke out the pricing into more detail such as a price for carpet removal, moving furniture, and shoe molding. My experience with the company was positive from my first visit to the showroom to the final visit from the installers. The showroom is large, light, and well organized. The showroom/office staffers were pleasant and helpful in selecting materials, scheduling of work, and answering questions throughout the process. I don't know if the company has more than one team of installers, but the headman on this job was Ellis and he was knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant. The flooring was delivered about a week prior to installation to acclimatize. Once work began, the installation crew worked quickly and efficiently. Because professional painters were coming after the flooring was installed, we had cleared out everything in the bedrooms except for a few large pieces which the crew moved as needed. The old carpet was removed without making a mess. Ellis did an excellent job leveling a floor that had a major slope. The stair caps were installed without damaging the surrounding walls and look great. A different crew refinished the six stairs and were not quite as skilled as the hardwood installation crew but the stairs sill look much better than they did. Throughout the process, all of the workers cleaned up after their work. I could not be happier with the beautiful new floors. The only odd component in this job was the installation of the shoe molding. It appears to be glued on instead of nailed. At this point some of it has separated from the base molding. They also spliced short pieces of molding together on short walls, using up the odd ends. I would have preferred that they ordered enough molding to use complete lengths on each wall since none of the walls is longer than a whole piece of molding. I mention this for other List members in case they want to bring it up with the company in negotiating a job. Overall, in my view this is a quality operation and I would work with them again if the opportunity arises. Ten years ago, I had hardwood installed elsewhere in the house by another flooring company. In that instance, the experience was not positive for a number of reasons so I do have a point of comparison for this kind of job.

It took a few months in the making, but David at Ultimate Flooring Design Center was very patient with us. We just wanted to make sure we had the right carpet, the right price, and the right business for the job. David was, always, very understanding, pleasant and helpful. If he did go crazy over our indecisiveness or disorganization, he didn't show it. Very professional, he is. He came out to our business to survey the area and give us some options and a quote. There were other businesses that didn't even offer to come look at our office, or seem interested at all. We had a couple carpets in our office that needed replacing. Ultimate Flooring Design Center was able to come in for Saturday installation so that it wouldn't affect our business. We're on the 3rd floor of an old building with no elevator, but David and his crew were able to lug everything up the stairs without any complaining (which I get all the time from the UPS delivery guy). It was a long job (about 12 hours), but the crew pushed on through (I'm not sure if they took any breaks). They were clean and did a great job in the replacement. The new carpet looks great! I was able to get everything back in place, in time, for business to open up Monday morning.

Outstanding! One of the easiest companies to work with. Dave came out to provide an estimate and to give us different options. He clearly gave us different options and suggestions for types of wood and carpet, when he left it was very clear about what I would be getting. I make this point because other companies were not so clear and couldn't answer questions that Dave did without hesitation. He also took the time to write up a clearly spelled out quote breaking down every aspect of the job, again other companies gave me a quote on the spot without every aspect of the job broken out. Upon signing a contract arrangements were made to drop off the wood the day after Thanksgiving to give time for the wood to acclimate to the house. They started the install the Monday after T-day and finished by Sat. It was a big job and they took their time and did it right. The floors look great and match the existing floors, this was very important to us and again Dave did a great job making sure he ordered the right wood to match.

Ultimate Flooring is phenomenal. Three, different installers were needed for our job - ceramic, oak floor installation and finishing, and carpeting. We were totally impressed with the quality of installers. They worked steadily, protected other areas of the house from dust, and cleaned up on a daily basis. All the work exceeded our expectations. We also appreciated the value pricing, high quality materials, and the personal attention we received from Dave Sr and Dave Jr. I would use them again, which is the best recommendation I can provide.

They were on-time and did a phenomenal job. Even the son of the owner of the company came in to double check to make sure everything was going smoothly.
