We got a couple of estimates and they were the cheapest. When we called them they were the quickest regarding the scheduling and they gave the most information that we needed. They did a very good job.

They did a good job explaining the options; they were very helpful and responsive. The work was good quality and done in a timely fashion.

I had Fichtner Services come out after several shingles blew off my roof during a storm. I had their "Roof and gutter service" which had a flat price of $450. For that price they inspected and repaired all the problems that they found. I'm writing this review in June 2012 and have had absolutely no problems with their repairs.

They were excellent. I used them because of the price, reputation and referrals. They did an efficient job and cleaned up well. They were conscientious. They were great, fast and worked hard. Even though they were no sub contracts, they were fit and wore safety belts. Everything was great; I could not even know they were here after they left. They were excellent company.

Had an old roof of unknown age with some serious leak issues. I'd contacted Fichtner Services, and a rep was out either the next day or the day after to inspect the roof. Got a quote on a repair and on a whole roof replacement with 30 days to think about it. After a few days of thinking about it, I'd decided to bite the bullet and go with the whole roof replacement, but had also decided to go with a different shingle color. Called up Fichtner again to ask about the next steps, and they offered to send a guy back out to discuss different shingle color options with me, but I'd decided it'd be easier to stop by their office. I was originally thinking of white shingles, but the rep convinced me to go with a light gray instead (and boy am I glad he did!). Drew up the full contract, explained every item with me, and I paid my 1/3 deposit. A few days later, I got the call to put me on the schedule for a few days after that. So within about a week of signing the contract, they were out working on my roof. On the day that they came out to perform the work, I was already gone at work when they pulled up, but by the time I'd returned in the evening, they were all packed up and gone, and a new roof had I. I'd missed the followup call the next day asking me about my experience, but when I called back later that day, I got the owner of the company! He was very polite and kind, and even offered to send someone back out to do a second inspection for trash after I mentioned finding a few pieces here and there, although I did not feel that that was necessary. Very pleased with this company.

They never responded once they left, so we decided not to use their service.

Had new shingles underlayment and gutters put on my 1969 house I just purchased. Fichtner was a slightly larger quote but with positive reviews from co-workers and Angie's List I felt it would be with the extra couple hundred dollars. I was right!! They came in and had the old shingles off in less than an hour and had the new shingles, new roof vent and gutters all done in a day. The team 'boss' was understanding of my concerns, they constantly cleaned up the yard so even during the work the yard wasn't covered in old shingles. They found one part of the facia and soffit that was rotted, and fixed it all up for another hundred or so. Done in a day for a split level with shallow angled roof. Been through a few rainstorms and the gutters are running well and I've seen no issues up in the attic. (not a complaint, but when they install new roof vent, there will be internal attic wood debris, so be careful on your first trip up!)

I called scheduled the appointment, the representatives arrived when scheduled and I paid for the services. No hassle, on-time, quality servce and reasonable price.

The workers arrived promptly. They were competent and friendly.They explained what they were doing and cleaned up after themselves.

We required 1 piece of new plywood on an overhang that had rotted due to a leak. But that was not a surprise to us and the cost of possible extra plywood was spelled out on the proposal that John drew up for us. The installation crew came exactly on time, got right down to work, and went at it continuously (except for their well-deserved lunch break) until the job was complete. I felt so bad for them, because they were up there in 90 degree temperatures installing a charcoal black roof, with the wind blowing pollen and maple tree "helicopters" at them the whole time. Not fun! Two things that impressed my husband and I were that before the work was started, the crew put giant blue tarps hanging from the front of the house to protect the house and the landscaping from falling debris, and the meticulous clean-up afterwards. The wind had blown roofing paper and debris all over the yard and also our neighbor's yard. The crew and foreman (he was not one of those NON-working supervisors) gathered every scrap. Getting stuff out of trees, brushes, and the neighbors yards. Not a nail in site on the ground afterwards and a leaf blower was used to clear any roofing "dust" from the patio, front porch, and walkway. Which was great because all those tree "helicopters" were cleaned up too. Extra bonus. Overall, a very good experience and the new roof looks great.

They did a good job but it was hard dealing with them administratively. I would not use them again in the future.

The Fichtner Services Central, Inc. representative was helpful and knowledgable. We ended up going with another company only because we needed the work done more quickly than Fichtner Services Central could schedule us, as it was holding up completing other work we were having done on the house (like getting new insulation put in during the middle of winter). Had we been able to wait the few weeks until Fichtner could fit us in their schedule, we likely would have gone with them. (In fairness to Fichtner Services Central, Inc., when I called to explain that we were going with another company that could fit us in faster, they offered to try to schedule us earlier if it would change our mind. However, since I had not known that was a possibility, I had already committed to the other company.)

It went okay and they did the work. They were really professional and very clean. They had to come back and do some work and they did that timely. They were a little pricier than my other estimates but the quality outweighed that.

They were good and I would give them a high rating. I would definitely use them again.

I called 4 companies for estimates in early November 2011. 3 on Angies List, one not. Two never responded. Fichtner returned call and came out within a couple of days. I know very little about roofing. The estimator was assuring although not as thorough in educating me on why some things were being recommended. I received an estimate within 24 hours. Because I needed more information, I continued with an additional estimate that provided more thorough explanations, but more highly priced and I was less confident with the estimator. I went back to Fichtner rep for 2 things: to actually see the roofing color choices installed and to ask for estimates on upgraded wind protection. Delays occurred in getting local addresses for about 3 color choices and due to extended rainy weather prohibiting seeing their true color.The rep also directed me to where I could go pick up large sample squares of shingles to view on my roof in various light. Once we got through this process, the new estimate came within hours although I may have upgraded too much on the Weather Watch barriers, the installation was scheduled in two weeks. The company knew I was to leave the country for an extended period within that time frame. They called me within a week with the materials and set up installation right away for a Thursday. Rain poured on Thursday and Friday. They had to cancel but asked if they could do it over the weekend. Workers came early, worked hard and expertly and the job turned out beautiful. The installation work went flawlessly. I appreciated the special supervisor brought on sight and calling and describing some rotten wood that was found.

Could not be more pleased. The company kept communicating with us, the foreman on the job called both days, and I have had a follow-up call after the job was completed. They were totally true to their word, and fully deserve their super A ratings. Perfect workmanship.

We received damage (and leaks) from Hurricane Irene and had trouble getting a roofer to even show up for an estimate. We got a referral and found Fichtner Services, got an immediate return call and timely estimate. They scheduled the work quickly given the flood of storm damage work they were already doing. After a slight weather delay, they performed the work on schedule and per the estimate. After work was complete, they helped us deal with a protracted settlement with our insurance company. They were also patient in billing terms as we had to pay the first 2/3 of the cost out of pocket due to the insurance dispute. Throughout the experience they were courteous and professional and communicated in a timely manner. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing roofing or siding work.

Fichtner was very honest about our leaking roof and helped us decide to bite the bullet and replace it instead of years ofpatching and pasting. The estimate was about the same as 2 others we had bids from but the reports from Angie's Listare what helped us to select Fichtner. We also like giving business to local companies.The work was done on a cold day and the crew was patient with our coming and going during their work. All in all the work was done as described and so far - nothing leaks. I'd certainly recommend Fichtner to any of my nieghbors.

Fichtner Services was one of four contractors interviewed for the job. They were one of two companies that also offered insulation services. Their price was better than the other company, and the good reviews on Angie's List influenced my decision. The job was scheduled for December 23. In retrospect,I would not have agreed to the day before a long holiday because there was a good deal of repair work to be done. A problem arose because the work order contained incorrect information. When Mr. Fichtner was made aware of the problem he came to the house immediately. His only real concern was what he could do to make me happy with the job. The project manager, Bob Hanna, also visited the following week and assured me that I would not be required to pay for the job until I was completely satisfied. When the crew came back that week he personally supervised the work. A company is only as good as its commitment to its customers. It is easy to get good press when things go smoothly. The test comes when a company responds to problems. Mr. Fichtner's did just that . That is why, despite some problems, I have given him an overall grade of A.

It went extremely well. We were concerned because we were asking for some extras, the weather was turning cold, and our site has parking problems. The originally scheduled date was very cold (30 degree high), so we requested a different date and they accommodated our request, installing the new roof the following week when the temperature reached 50 degrees. The crew was on time, pleasant, worked smoothly and as quietly as roofing can be. There was minimal disruption to our property and for us. I was even able to do some on line work while the roofing was being done. The resulting roof looks great, has survived very heavy rain and some wind last night. The clean-up was excellent. Care was taken during the work so that their cleanup was relatively easy. The work started at 7AM and was finished by 2 PM. We were very pleased with Fichtner's work. The only issue was not really an issue - by the time we selected Fichtner, they had work lined up for 5 weeks, so we had to wait. Since the roof had temporary patches and wasn't leaking, this did not present a problem. Overall, this was an excellent experience. The workmanship was excellent and the price was very competitive.

Our three skylights were aged and needing replacement. We wanted quality replacements at a good price. Fichtner Services was very responsive in providing estimates and information on their products. The installed price for the Velux skylights was very competitive compared to other estimates we received and a primary factor in deciding to go with Fichtner Services. The company was responsive in working out some schedule issues with us, and they were punctual in coming to do the work. The two man crew worked quickly and professionally. The front office followed up within about a day of the work being completed to ask about any issues. The crew had apparently forgotten a tube of roofing caulk, and when notified the company sent someone out to pick it up. We considered the leftover material a minor issue, and the company's responsiveness in taking care of it a credit on their part. The work seems well done, and the skylights are what we expected. We would definitely use Fichtner Services again.

The job went well. No complaints. Work was done as discussed, no surprises. Company was professional from start to finish!

We experienced some leaking in our master bedroom in the large snow storms back in 2009/2010. The problem recurred in 2011 with the hurricane but this time there appeared to be more than one leak. It appears that the original builder in our area did a poor job installing the roofs because several of our neighbors have experienced similar leaks. Since our roof was only 11 years old, the shingles were still in good shape, and we had a new baby on the way, we really did not want to invest in a brand new roof for the entire house. After seeking estimates from a variety of roofing contractors we were very frustrated because we seemed to be getting lots of different answers (and price estimates) about what was causing our roof leak yet none of the contractors could guarantee us that opting for their proposed solution would fix our problem. Fichtner came up with a solution that seemed it would provide the best quality option for the best price. Rather than replace the whole roof Fichtner proposed a solution that would involve replacing the roof on the back half of the house. Unlike the repairs proposed by most of the other contractors, Fichtner provided us with a 5 year guarantee on the part of the roof they replaced. Ultimately the price we paid was a little more than we were looking to spend but based on the scope of work that they did and the peace of mind that we have with the guarantee, we felt it was a competitive price. It did take over a month to get the work performed but we knew this upfront. When we gave the initial deposit, Fichtner did a good job of telling us that they had more than 50 jobs ahead of us due to recent storm damage. They kept in regular contact with us about the the status of the job, arrived on time on the day the work was performed, did a great job of cleaning up the site after the work was completed, and sent us a follow-up e-mail to make sure we were satisfied with the work. They even managed to get the job done before our baby arrived so we had a new roof over our baby's head. The only suggestion I would have for Fichtner is that some of the other roofing contractors we contacted went up onto the roof and took pictures of the problem areas so we could have a visual idea of the issues when we were reviewing their estimates. Fichtner's estimator did peek into our crawl space but didn't walk around up there nor did he go on the roof to provide an estimate. Overall, I think Fichtner's estimator had alot of experience which was why he didn't feel it necessary to go on the roof but from a customer's perspective, I think pictures would provide more peace of mind since most customers won't get up on a ladder and walk on the roof themselves. We would use Fichtner again and would recommend them to others.

The company did an excellent job installing new roof in a very timely manner. The clean-up afterwards was also performed above and beyond expectations. The job supervisor came out the day after installation and walked the entire property to insure that all nails had been picked up and properly discarded. I would recommend this company to all of my friends and family.

I called Fichtner Services because I was getting water in the attic after it rained. A sales consultant came to the house and inspected the roof and attic. The consultant informed me that a "cricket" needed to be built so the rain would drain away from the chimney and gave me a proposal for the work. I agree to the proposal and work was started 3 weeks later. I had a fantastic crew of three at the house with Douglas Gomez as foreman. They were on time, polite, professional and most importantly, skilled. They completed the job and showed me what they did. I wanted a small change on one shingle and they gladly got the ladders back off the truck to make the change. Best of all, it has rained (hard) several times since having the roof fixed and our attic is dry! I would HIGHLY recommend this company, and have, to my brother-in-law. Thank you Angie's list!.
