They came when expected, and finished within one day. All branches and debris were removed, and area thoroughly cleaned. They are a very professional, efficient company. This was the second time we had used them.

We were happy with the quote. They have come out previously and gave ideas and advice. They were reasonable and thorough in their explanations. They communicated very well and broke down the pricing for us so we knew exactly what we were paying for. But once you received the actual contract, we were not sure who is responsible to contact the utility companies and for damage, so we are still clarifying that. We have not hired anyone yet. UPDATE: They brought out Johnson Crane Service. The impact to our yard was unnoticeable. The clean up and everything went great. We were very happy with it. Their confidence was great. We are convinced that if we ever need that type of work again we will hire them.

They were very punctual. They are nice and professional.

They are very knowledgeable about our trees. They do what needs to be done and they are very good.

All has gone well, very smoothly, they were there working when they said they would be and finished promptly. Job site was clean and organized, and they cleaned up the property as promised. Bartlett is not the least expensive service out there, however they consistently do a quality job, and I completely trust that they are insured.

I've been using them for 10 years. We have a standing relationship. They are excellent in every way including their customer service, quality of work, knowledge and timeliness. They are not cheap, but they are the best.

I went with Bartlett because I wanted to do some major trimming on some very old trees. I did not want a tree butcher, I needed an arborist. The initial phone call went well and was passed to the area arborist. He came out within a few days to check the job and offer suggestions. The price quote was sent by mail within two days. I called and a date for removal was agreed to. The crew arrived on time, did the job neatly and completely. A small tree was found after the initial consultation and was removed at no extra charge. Thanks Bartlett, you are now my new tree service company.

My call for an estimate was not returned at first. Someone eventually called and scheduled an estimate. The estimate was very high, so I went with another company.

It went exactly as you hope these things should go. Ernie was professional, offered a reasonable price, the crew was efficient and courteous and everyone showed up on time and completed the work on time. The work was made worse but lots of hidden large tree roots which were all removed ( no extra charge was added but I added some myself). I highly recommend this company.

They are always very professional and not pushy at all. They are a little pricier than other tree companies but they are heads above; they are much more professional and they seem to know more about what they are doing. We?ve been using this company for three or four years now and they are always there to do what we need done. They give us quotes on stuff and we just pick what parts we really need done. I have recommended them.

The crew was prompt and although there was some confusion at the beginning of the job about what exactly was needed, they called their supervisor and figured it out. I left before they were finished, and afterwards I thought they hadn't cut back enough, but in the end it was just fine. They did what I wanted, didn't break anything. The price was a little steep. I would use them again for well defined, focused jobs.

The price they quoted us was $3,000. The gentleman that came out was very nice. Their quote came in twice as much as the other companies we got quotes from, with actually doing less service because they were not going to grind the stump.

They were very good, but very expensive. They have arborists, and are really well insured. They are a nationwide chain. If you needed small work done, you could probably find someone cheaper. If you need bigger work done, than they are very safe to go with. I had too big of a job to go cheap.

Overall it went well ... everything was done professionally and there were no problems. The only caveat we have is you have to be flexible on appointment times as it appeared that much depended on the availability of certain equipment and staff. Once equipment or staff became available, Kuhn's would want to start the next day. We asked for a 48 hr notice so we could arrange for time off and coordinate with neighbors but usually received calls the night before. If we could not accommodate the next day, there would be delays until the next time the equipment (stump grinder) was available. The entire service took about 3 weeks from the time we submitted an agreement to the time the final job was completed. We were not in any hurry so this was not a problem for us. The price was much lower than the competitor.

Folks were very professional, Gave estimates for multiple services so I could better decide what to do and even honored a quote over 6 months old.

Had a dead/dying tree in our wooded lot that needed to be taken down. We had just moved into our newly built house, and knew there are going to be several trees that may die as a result of the construction. In addition to the quote, Bartlett added about $4000 of additional work that needed to be done on the trees in our yard, one of which includes anchoring a splitting tree to a live tree for support, which doesn't make much sense to me since if that tree falls while anchored to the live tree, it's going to take that tree down with it. But since I'm not a tree expert, I got a second opinion (Adirondacks tree service - ultimately used them), who were professional, responded in a timely manner, gave a reasonable quote for taking down the dead tree, and provided a reasonable management plan for my trees (i.e. leave them alone and let them heal from the construction). So far, my trees are doing fine.

Both times Bartlett was very professional and did a very good job, cleaning up completely afterwards. The first time, they removed the fallen pine tree for no additional charge.

To prune and support a tree was around $630. The guy they sent us seemed to know what he was doing. They seemed very professional, the price seemed a little bit high though. They were here and did what they said they would do in about 24 hours.

Their price is high but they do good quality work. They take the proper safety precaution and they take pains to keep their people safe. They were very professional overall.

After reading favorable comments on Bartlett's on AngiesList, I called this company on 24 June 2010, as it was the closest to my house. The company representative was supposed to arrive at 9:00am today, 29 June 2010. At 9:08, I called his office which had a recording that the office was open 8 - 4 and if no one answered I was to leave a message, which I did - that the rep did not show at the appointed time and I was going in to work. As I was driving out of the neighborhood, I saw a car with the Bartlett Tree service sign on it. So I turned around and followed the car to my house. The rep was very polite and apologized for being late. Poor professionalism in my opinion, but I said nothing. I showed him the dead tree I needed removed. He asked if I wanted the tree parts removed, cut up, or just left where they lay. He confirmed that any services beyond simple cutting down of the tree would be extra, so I told him I would cut the limbs and trunk up and remove it myself. I only asked that they lower the tree parts to the ground instead of just dropping them onto the ground as I have an underground dog "fence" close to the tree. The rep said he would calculate a price quote and went into his car. In a few minutes he emerged with a price quote of $1950. I said I would "consider it", but I already had a quote from another reputable firm for $1100, which I considered to be at least $300 too high. Company sounded reputable, but almost $2000 for a few hours work?

I received three estimates from companies, and, being nearly $1200.00 more than the others, Bartlett's estimate was the highest by far.

They were good. We have used them before at our old house. They were excellent and very professional. There are a little pricey but I think it's worth it.

The day after my call Brad Seay came over and gave an estimate to cut down a dead poplar. He was punctual, professional, and a font of information on trees. I was especially impressed to learn that his company sets the standards for safety for the business. Since the tree in question was very large and very, very rotted i.e. crumbly and fragile, I certainly wanted it down without damage to persons or property. The work was scheduled and the workers were prompt, efficient and respectful of our property and our neighbor's. My husband decided the day of the tree cutting that he wanted a large limb over the deck pruned. Mr. Seay quickly added it to the proposal and the work was done immediately. Incredibly, the work area seemed neater after the crew left than it was before they came!

He booked us in quickly and the work was done very expediently. He was prompt and efficient and NEAT. He cleaned up all of the mess-I would have never known he had been there. We have plans for him to come out in the Spring to treat the insect issue.
