Response from Hamilton Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning
[Removed member name], Thank you for taking the time to grade our company. I'm curious as to your reasons for the grades you chose, especially since you did not write anything about the services performed or your experience with us. To give a description of the work performed, we were called out on a Saturday because your tub/shower diverter was broken. We arrived that afternoon, assessed the situation and explained the options. One option was to attempt to fix the valve, the other option was to replace the valve. We took measurements and scoped out the house to determine accessibility in order to give a fair, firm price for replacing the valve. You asked that we attempt to fix it if we could. We were able to take the valve apart and removed the broken parts. Explained that in order to warranty the repair we needed to use OEM parts and not generic replacement parts and it would be a few days before we had them. You agreed that was fair and reasonable and asked that we get the parts. We charged you a standard service call fee instead of an after hours fee for coming out on a Saturday because we were unable to solve the problem at the time of the call. We also explained that if the replacement part was not available or it did not fix the problem then we would credit the service call fee towards the quoted price to replace the valve. You called Monday morning and explained that you went to Home Depot and bought a generic replacement part and installed it yourself after we showed you how to disassemble the valve. At that time you asked about an old foam gasket that did not come with the replacement assembly you purchased. Asked if it was with the broken parts we had taken to match up to the new parts we were getting for you. We explained that the part was not necessary for proper operation, but if we had it then we would stop by and drop it off. We were unable to locate the gasket with the parts that we had and therefor did not drop it off. We apologize for not calling to explain that we did not have the gasket. We are very sorry that you are not satisfied with our services and our attempt to resolve your plumbing problem as fair and honest as possible. We hope you understand that the fees involved (service call fee) are in line with our competition and set to cover basic overhead costs. We hope this does not interfere with you wanting to do business with us in the future. As you can see from the rest of our reviews, customer satisfaction is a huge part of our business practices and an unsatisfied customer is something we do not take lightly.
