I called Mathers Mechanical to work on my Geothermal system, which had broken down 5 times in 12 months after installation by another company (On-Site Energy). My geothermal heat had been out for 3 months and I was desperate. Tom was competent, punctual, helpful, communicative-- everything the other company was not. He had to make several visits, but he diagnosed and fixed multiple problems and got my system running properly. His charges were reasonable and he even got he manufacturer to cover some costs associated with a faulty valve that was under warranty. I was extremely happy and will use Mathers exclusively in my future service and repair!

After a thorough check, they advised us that they were working properly and no work needed to be performed. They are very thorough and it was easy to get an appointment. They responded right away.

Tim showed up on time (7am) and sent out his techs within 2 hours of showing up. They were very straight forward about the whole process and provided a solid estimate on the amount of oil needed to successfully recharge the system.

We purchased a home with an addition that didn't have heating/cooling. Mather's Mechanical came out and assessed our situation. We ended up going with the Mitsubishi ductless system, which has been wonderful! Mr. Mather's was professional, timely and reasonable.

He came out very quickly to give me an estimate. My a/c unit had broken and he agreed to do the work within 2 days. Even though he knew we were in a bind, he met the price of a lower (previous) estimate and honored a coupon as well. Great work at a great price.

I hired Mathers Mechanical to install an April-Aire whole-house humidifier and they did a great job. Tom the owner came out to give an estimate, and Luke did the install. Tom was very prompt and responsive to all my questions and emails. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend!! AA++++

Went really well, the old unit was replaced with new on the day promised. It is quiet and heats and cools well. I highly recommend Mathers and the Trane high efficiency units.. I waited a year to make sure that I was satisifiec.

My central AC suddenly stopped cooling one evening during a heat wave. The next morning I called Mathers and they had a repairman (Lucas) at my door within 3 hours. He found that the coolant was escaping from a pin hole leak in one of the copper tubes. He was able to solder the leak (saving having to replace the whole cooling coil unit) and then refilled the system with coolant. Since that stuff is very expensive, he took some extra steps to try to save what was left in the system to save me a few dollars. Afterwards, he stayed an extra hour or so to monitor the system to make sure the house was cooling down properly, without any extra labor cost. He did a great job, and I would certainly call them again if I have any A/C or heating issues.

The heat pump for the top floor of our house stopped cooling, and I noticed the fan in the outdoor unit was not running even though the refrigerant seemed to be circulating. The owner, Tom Mathers, had his assistant out to our house the same day I called. The mechanic was prompt and professional. They did not have the part in stock, but located one in the D.C. area and installed it the next day. The service went extremely well even though we were out of town when the mechanic installed the new motor. I discussed some issues with the mechanic by phone, which we resolved, and he completed the work well. We are very pleased with Mathers Mechanical.

On 7/16 found 1/2 inch or more of ice on indoor unit and coils leading to outside unit. Unit outside was deemed in working condition and it was determined that problem was with indoor system, comm. unit, fan and motor. Called placed to Mathers Mechanical on 7/17 and appt. set for 7/18. Mr. Mathers was prompt, professional, and courteous. He was thorough in his assessment, ordered the necessary part(s) which came by overnight express, and completed the job on Friday, 7/20. Greatly appreciated his explanations of defect and procedures to correct.

Tom came on time and actually I was late by 20 minutes. He even accomodated the time we had asked for as we had out of towner guest. He patiently waited. Looked at the job. This is worst he had seen but stiil performed and finished the job in time and checked for pressure and freon level. Everything checked out. He is very very professional and we had a good conversation of how the machine works and what to look out for. Anyway he completed and A/C is working fine. I will recommend him to all my friends. Very resonable and no beating about the bush. Get the work which needs to be done. No upsell of anything.Tom is man of integrity, honor and respect. He is how other should operate their business. Our AC unit had a leak that was too expensive to fix so we got several quotes to replace our AC and Furnace. Mathers was very timely on emailing back and forth and quick to return calls. I really appreciated this since I was leaving the country in a couple of days. We choose Mathers because of price, knowledge and I felt like Tom was a straight shooter and not trying to sell me what he wanted me to have. He broke down the pricing so we had options unlike the other quotes. We gave him the go ahead on Thursday, he ordered the equipment that same day, received it the next day Friday and our installation was scheduled for Monday. The quick turn around was very much appreciated since we were facing triple digit temps. They got the AC working Monday and returned Tuesday to finish up the furnace. While performing the walk thru Tom noticed the correct thermostat was not installed for our unit. He came back the next day himself and swapped it out. I enjoyed working with Tom and will use him in the future as I have already at my work.

Tom the owner and Jerry his assistant were recommended to us by our neighbor who had a trane unit installed. Not only were they lessexpensive than the other quotes but Tom recommended the proper unit even though it was less expensive. His opinion was based on the size of our house (2700 Sq. Feet). We would never get the savings in energy vs the thousands more we would pay for the larger system. We have the xl15i AC and heating units. We also ordered the whole house humidifier and whole house filter (familiy allegies) which together cost ~$1800.00. Even with the added humidifier and filter he was close in price to the other estimates base unit price. Tom also sent us the rebate form which with Potomac Edisoon is ~$500.00. Both he and Jerry are experts. polite and thorough.We have already referred 2 people and one is and Angie's list customer and was able to save additional monies using the online certificate. The difference the trane system has made has been obvious from day one.Definitely a great experience and we would definitely recommend Mathers Mechanical.

Tom and his crew arrived on time and were very professional the entire time, used drop cloths. Also careful not to let the Cat get out while going in and out. They answered any questions/concerns that I had during the job and kept me up to date on the time needed to complete the job as they worked. Cleaned up after. Will be backin Fall to check/service unit (gas heat). Job well done.

I found Mathers Mechanical LLC on Angies List and I'm happy I did. Tom Mathers meets the 4Ps - Punctual, Price, Professional and Polite. He arrived when promised and diagnosed the problems quickly. His price was reasonable, and his completed work exceptional. It's clear that Tom takes pride in his work.

Tom Mathers was great to work with - he had actually helped us out with our a/c a couple of years ago. One company came out and wanted to charge us $800 for a part they stated we needed. Tom came over and said we only needed to replace an o-ring which was around $4. We knew once our A/C gave out (which he predicted it would), we'd go to him. His quote was fair, he also provided rebate forms and we used his Angie's List coupon. The best part was that the entire installation was done in one day. He had Jerry work on the install (very efficient by the way) but made certain to come back and check on the project. He installed our thermostat and tested the system and returned that evening to go over the unit and how to program the thermostat, etc... . Very professional and easy to work with, plus he was great with our dog. We'd highly recommend Mathers Mechanical!

Mr. Mathers called in the morning to let me know that his crew was on the way, they were here 5 minutes early. They laid down drop cloths so they would not track dirt into the house and mess up our carpets. They were friendly and worked hard all day. Mr. Mathers came to see how it was going about 1/2 way through the job. They were done with the install around 3:30 pm. Mr Mathers came to the house around 4:00 to show us how to use everything, and he also checked all the settings and connections to make sure everything was done correctly and to his satisfaction. We are extremely please with our choice of contractor and would recommend this company to anyone. He made us feel very secure that if we have any issues the the unit in the future that all we have to do is call him and he will make sure it gets taken care of. We feel very confident that he will stand by everything that they did.

Called Mr. Mathers, scheduled appointment, he was on time, courteous and professional. He diagnosed the problem quickly, orderred the appropriate parts, installed the next evening. All systems are operating as expected. Pricing was very fair. Mr. Mathers even went above and beyond our agreement and cleaned some of the coils on the unit he was working on, and an additional unit (2 zone system). I own a restaurant and have delt with several HVAC companies over the years. I have established a relationship with an HVAC company in Va where my business is located, unfortunately, he does not travel to Frederick, MD. I was a bit apprehensive about having to call someone I did not know. I have had a few bad experiences with HVAC companies before finding the company I currently use in Reston. My Wife and I are pleased to report that we have found a reliable and honest HVAC company right here in Frederick. When the need arises, we will be calling Mathers Mechanical again.

We contacted Tom Mathers because of his Angie's list reviews. He met with us last July and went through our house noting the work that would need to be done for the duct work and places where they might choose to dig the geothermal wells. Our project took a while to complete , partly because of the number of smaller projects it entailed, partly due to other house projects we had going on and partly because we told him we were in no big hurry, as long as we had heat when it turned cold. One of the smaller projects we had to tackle before he could complete the installation of ductwork was to disconnect the oil radiator tank and heating pipes in the basement. He recommended contractors to assist and he also worked with them in planning out his schedule. He had two assistants on this project and we knew ahead of time when they would be at the house and what areas they would need to get to. There was hardly a part of our house they did not go in and because the ductwork included some cutting in our floors and ceilings, they always consulted with us as to what would be done, where they would cut and whether there were alternatives. Tom anticipated concerns we did not and addressed them with us ahead of time. We are very happy with the service and the work from Mathers Mechanical and recommend them highly.

I called another company in the area and was told that they could send someone out the next day between 12 noon and 5 pm. I then called Mathers Mechanical and Mr. Mather told me he could be there between 4:30pm to 5 pm and $99 per hour of labor charge plus parts/material. He arrived on time and finished the work by 6pm. The heat was back in by 6pm. When he finished, The tenant was very happy that they got the heat back.

Mr. Mathers was on time for the scheduled service and preformed the work in a professional manner as he has every time I have used his services. This contractor is a 5 + star contractor. I highly recommend this contractor to anybody in need of a Heating & A/C Contractor you will not be disappointed. (Professional, Quality, Responsive,Punctual, & Best Bang For Your Buck)

I spent about $4000 for their services. It was great and I was very pleased. I would recommend everything about them and I had no complaints. The quality of their work, friendliness, price and everything was fine. I would use their services in the future too.

The insall went great from start to finish. Mr. Matters was always on time and very detailed in his work, kept the job clean at all times.
