Description of Work: Keith from Canterbury Sweeps inspected and cleaned two of our chimneys. Service provided was great. He was very personable, work was neat and thorough. He did point out some maintenance items to keep an eye on, upon my request he provided an estimate but we felt no pressure to have the work completed immediately.

+ 0 moreThey were professional, informative, and punctual. The only downside was that they were going to send some information on wood/pellet stove inserts, but I haven't received it yet. Even still, I was extremely pleased with their service and would recommend them to anybody.
Description of Work: I just bought a house this year that has two fireplaces. To be on the safe side, I had my chimney inspected and to see if they needed to be clean. Only one needed to be cleaned, and they gave me some information about my flues.

+ 1 moreThey came out a total of 3 times, first for the inspection, second for the repair and a third time when I asked them to make sure the fireplace was still safe after the caulking had dried and contracted. Joe was very good about explaining everything to me and answering my questions. I will continue to use them for cleanings, inspections and repairs.
Description of Work: The Canterbury Sweeps inspected my chimney to see if it needed cleaning, which it didn't at that time. They pointed out a crack in the back panel of my fireplace and I decided to have it replaced.

After two visits from another chimney service company (who found nothing and recommended something that probably would not have worked), Canterbury diagnosed the problem, explained it in detail, came up with multiple options for me to consider, put in a temporary fix, measured and prepared for permanent fix when we call for it.
Description of Work: Diagnosed unsafe firebox, weatherproofed chimney, suggested options for major repair.

+ -1 moreExcellent. I was able to get a very convenient time slot quickly (early October). Joe showed up 10 minutes early for an early morning appointment. He laid down plastic and tarps to keep from making a mess. He worked solid for 1.5 hours. I saw the before and after status, and was amazed at how clean he got my chimney. He earned a good tip and I will call them next year at this time, because I heat my house using the fireplace (wood stove insert).

Additionally, he explained the various options for installing an after-market damper for the chimney. The whole job took about 90 minutes on a hot June day.
Description of Work: Inspected the chimney prior to the purchase of my house and provided information on damper alternatives for my chimney, as a previous owner had removed the damper.
