AC Paving Company

Went very well. Contacted owner, Asia Cooper, through Angie's List. Very good reviews. Responded same day. Came out to inspect job that evening. We felt good and made a deal that evening. He had a crew finishing up in our area and could have a crew there between 9 and 11 am the next morning. They arrived before 9 am with a crew of 6 and all the right equipment.. This included a front end loader, motorized asphalt spreader, power roller, compactor, Concrete saw and hand tools. Complete job done in less than three hours. Everyone knew their jobs and were very efficient. Great job! Smooth level joints. The everyone is impressed.

We used AC Paving for sealing our driveway. This is a different company then Cooper Paving, but they are related. We had Cooper Paving put on a top coat a few years ago and they did a good job. For the sealing, I made the deal with Joel. George, his younger brother, did the work. I chose to have it sprayed on (oil-based) as opposed to brushed on (asphalt-based). I could tell that George was hurrying to get the job done, and in the process got spray on the carport. He was supposed to use a board to edge, but it was easy to tell that he didn't. George is a nice young man and works hard, but if he had just taken his time and spend an extra 15 minutes, he could have done a much better job. Joel took $50 off the bill to compensate, but I would rather has spent the $50 and got a quality job. After he did my driveway, he did my neighbor's driveway that has white block edging. George did a nice job on that driveway, but I had warned my neighbor to made sure he took his time and use the board for edging. UPDATE: Joel saw my Angie's list review and that prompted him to call me and say he didn't realize how bad it was and would clean the sealer from the carport. Robert came out on August 16 and did a great job of cleaning and got all the sealer off. So, now I've revised my rating to an A. I appreciate that AC Paving made it right, and I expect that they would have done it whether I gave them a bad review on Angie's List or not.

They started the job, but only got halfway through as I think the issues were more complex than they originally thought. The next day, they finished the job and THEY even took out a section after it was complete because THEY did not like the way it was sitting. Excellent contractor and a breath of fresh air from A/C Paving.

The driveway was great, I'm glad about the work that they did, the worker's were fine.

I am very pleased with AC Paving. I researched companies ahead of time and chose them because of their good Angies list reviews, high accreditation with the better business bureau, and because they are family owned and operated. They came out and gave a firm estimate, arrived on time, finished on time, and left me with a beautiful driveway. Prior to laying the asphalt they did a good job smoothing and finishing the surface to receive the new asphalt. They went beyond the minimum and without additional charge widened a few areas along the driveway where it was clear that we were driving on the grass and added material to straighten some edges that were bowed which created a much better aesthetic. In addition to the normal driveway paving, they added a new parking pad extension which required also laying new bedding material in that area. I explained what I was trying to achieve and they were very helpful with good suggestions. I am very glad that I selected AC Paving. Everything was handled very professionally and all interactions with the owners were very pleasant. After the job was done there was a minor scratch in the sealant due to a Sequoia making a sharp turn and they came out and fixed everything right away without charge. That was fantastic! They are simply a very well organized company that does exactly what they say at a reasonable price. The following update is provided for subsequent work performed by AC Paving during 2015: I continue to be highly impressed by AC Paving. I called the company back for two matters this year. First, our snowplow service damaged a few locations in our driveway so we had them come out and perform some repairs, seal everything, and add a curb to deflect some water. The job was great and within budget ($2000). During June/July and the heavy rains we realized that water runoff was creating a huge problem for a corner of our house even with our French drains. This was apparent when I realized that once the ground was saturated there was an effective 1 inch wave of water continually flowing at one corner of the house. To redirect the flow, AC Paving came out and widened a long portion of our driveway and added a curb. Everything was handled well and the job ended up being very attractive in addition to being functional. The job was also within budget ($4300)

We found AC paving through the work they have done all over the place in our area. The owner of company and his time are very professional. They were always on time and their work is also of very good quality. The paving of driveway was completed well within stipulated time. I highly recommend AC Paving.

Gave us compressed 3 inches of driveway 300+ ft (I forget just how long) 9 ft wide (just couldn't swing for 10 ft) and a wide turn around spot. Also got a tar sidewalk 4 ft wide. The crew made nice edges on all the work. They were careful to hide the seams between the different batches of tar. Their paver made the driveway pretty level even with the dips in the path so 3 inches is minimum actually. They had to butt up to the street, the garage and our front steps. All were done well, level and clean.

As a "fill in" job (done while in the area at their convenience) I was able to save thousands of dollars on this driveway. They were able to get it done the same week as my estimate and it is beautiful! My only regret was that I did not find them 10 years ago. I highly recommend them!

It was a beautiful job! There was no debris left behind, the cleanup was awesome. No asphalt bits on the lawn so sealer spots on the sidewalk. The owner took his shoes off when he entered my home, even though they were not dirty and I said it wasn't necessary. This is a family business and two of his sons were working with Dad. They were polite, personable and neat. I highly recommend this company for your paving needs, I am going to have them redo my patio in the spring!

Team was punctual. Great equipment and team worked fast. They cleaned up the area well and were professional.

They did an excellent job on the driveway resurfacing and were about 20% below the other quote I had received. They showed up on time and completed the project in about 4 hours with no problems. The only complaint I had was when they showed up, I was told that to do the job right I should have a section of the driveway removed and replaced for an additional $250. I agreed so as not to have any excuse why the job was not properly done. They took out about 4 square feet in five minutes and I felt I was scammed out of an additional $250. They were still considerably less than the other quote I received and I would use them again.

I needed to decide whether to replace old, cracked concrete pads with concrete or asphalt. I was surprised to learn that asphalt costs about as much as concrete, but determined that having one product for the entire driveway would look better than what existed - a mix of asphalt and concrete. So asphalt won. I had already received some quotes for the concrete work. One contractor actually gave me a much cheaper price - his crew was idle and he wanted the work. Unfortunately, I wanted asphalt. AC Paving provided what I think was a competitive price. I had received some verbal, over-the-phone prices by the square foot and Asia's was in line with those estimates. He also had a crew ready to start that morning. I was home and decided to proceed. I was amazed by how quickly Asia got his crew to the house. I was introduced to the supervisor and they got to work. The crew worked hard, was polite, answered all my questions and really did a nice job. The newly laid asphalt has perfectly finished edges and slope. They tied into my existing circular drive, front door step and garage cleanly. I gave AC a "B" for price because I didn't get other written estimates for the asphalt work and I did get a much cheaper concrete price. AC Paving did a great job overall and I will definitely use them when I need work done in the future.

My 3500 sq ft driveway and parking pad was in need of repair and repaving. I had seen AC Paving signs in our neighborhood and was encouraged by their work, clean lines, and attention to detail. I researched Angie's List and based on the reviews contacted Mr Cooper. I met him (not an employee) at the house, where we walked the job site together, took measurements, and discussed in detail the areas requiring excavation or custom work. He said the recent weather had disrupted his job schedule and he had an opening that same day to do a job of my size. He gave me a quote but I didn't have anything recent to compare to. While he waited I reached out to personal contacts for price references. We then openly talked price and comparables and quickly came to an agreement. Soon after his crew swarmed in, prepped the site, and completed the job by the end of the day. Big difference.....the transition to the main road is smooth and rain the next day gave me a chance to see the grade at work, especially from an existing front sidewalk. Nice job and smooth lines. I was hesitant at first since I had not recently talked to other contractors, but then found out afterwards that family members were satisfied customers of AC Paving. I would gladly recommend AC Paving to others as well.

Showed up with men and equipment quickly and got to work. I had to leave for several hours. When I returned, they had cleared the drive, repaired and filled the bad areas, and were beginning to pave. They finished up and cleaned up by 5:00pm. Their equipment was top notch, dump trucks were even shiny, unusual in the paving business. Any Questions I had were answered in detail. Very polite and professional.

My experience was similar to the review from April 03, 2013 where AJ made an opportunistic sale. I had called AC Paving for an estimate and left a message. The next day I received a call to see if I was available to have my driveway paved because they were in the area and were not able to continue work on a county job they were working on. I was not available at the time but agreed to have them drive by and give an estimate. He called me back with an estimate that included a discount for having his equipment in the area. It sounded reasonable to me so I said to go ahead. They arrived later then expected but finished the job the same day as promised. They brought in a paving machine for the job which I assume had some impact on completing the job that night. It took about 2-2.5 hours to complete. He said I could drive across it that night but not to park on it for a couple of days. From what I've read on the internet, this is accurate. The driveway looks good and I'm satisfied with the work. I didn't rate the cost of the service because I accepted the deal before receiving other estimates. Based on internet research, the cost seemed reasonable but I don't have local accurate data.

The results very appealing and functional.AC Paving resurfaced my existing deteriorated concrete driveway with asphalt. And the results very appealing plus the company personnel were very responsive to my demands and Mr. Cooper was very easy to work with

We've been remodeling the home and had finally come to the end of the project...which means it was finally time to pave the driveway. We found AC Paving on Angie's list and decided to take a shot. He came by a couple days after I called him when i was first available and we went over the project. We told him we were about to put in a sidewalk and weren't sure how the "line" the yard-side of the driveway should take, going from the house past the to-be sidewalk. We had an idea....and, thankfully, so did he. His idea was something that escaped us and was the perfect solution. I wanted to raise up the area on the other side of the driveway near the garage. By doing so, me and the kids would have a much more level area to play basketball :) It worked out perfectly! Not too much of a rise that would leave the outside edge too high off the ground but enough to make a difference. We are very happy with the project....first time I can say that an asphalt job was done with "craftsmanship". We had a contractor come over for another project and he commented on the amazing job and how "packed" the asphalt is. Yeah, we're pleased.

It was a great experience. they had a whole crew out with steamrollers and repaved the entire thing. I highly ercommend them.

On February 28th, AJ Cooper came to my door and said that they had a job scheduled down the street, but when they started, they realized that they needed a new conduit to go under the driveway, and they couldn't do the job until they were able to get the new conduit the following day. My driveway was in terrible shape and they asked if I wanted them to repave it. They said they could offer a good price, since all the trucks, work crew and asphalt were just down the street waiting. I have had people show up on my doorstep with similar requests several times over the past year, so I was quite suspicious. AJ said he'd be glad to wait while I checked them out on Angies List and the Better Business bureau, and he did wait patiently, while I determined that they had A or better ratings from both services. And he was right about the price. The price we finally agreed upon was about 65% of what I had been quoted by other credible companies in my area for the same work. AJ said they would start the work shortly and that there would always be a foreman there until the work we done. They started within the hour with more workers and equipment than I had expected. They paved my 100+ foot driveway and added an apron. They removed about 40 feet of old pavement where the problems were and replaced it while putting a 2 1/2 inch layer of new asphalt on the rest. It was completed in about four hours, that includes cleanup which was excellent. Then the next day the owner came back to make sure i was happy with the work. These guys worked like crazy and did a great job for a great price. They are true professionals who know and deliver quality. over a month later, I am still really pleased with the work they did. I have recommended them to all my neighbors.

I did not dislike anything about them. They did a nice job. They were all very professional and it looks good.

The quality of the job and of the service was excellent. The entire operation was accomplished within one day. AC also sealed the driveway a year later, then resealed it 2 years ago. All was done in a professional manner and reasonably priced. I would use them again if I have any asphalt projects.

We are very pleased with the quality ,service, and excellent customer service. Everything held up well doing the recent storm. Asia did a nice job to ensure a good outcome. We've received lots of positive comments how nice it looks. Will definitely recommend to others.

They did a great job. They actually came out, worked like dogs, and got it done in like 3 hours for paving and 2 hours for sealant. They were extremely professional. Our driveway was a gravel driveway, but it had a really good base on it and they took off the first 2 inches, and because we had cobblestones along our driveway, they did that by hand. They had to take away the old gravel and they were very careful today when they put the sealant on to not ruin the pavers work. The price was fair. They were good about answering questions. They were a day early. I was going to wait until after Thanksgiving to have the sealant done because they said we needed to wait a month. They were at the neighbors, came across, and said they could do it tomorrow and I said okay. This is the first time I have had this done. They have been doing it a long time and they have a good reputation.

They were on time,and were not able to finish in one day, as there was a lot of work. They arrived early the next day and finished by noon. The job looks good, but only time will tel,l as it will be years to see how it holds up.
