Estimator arrived exactly on time for the appointment. We inspected the windows together. He pointed out what would be done and where, came inside, and gave me a written estimate. I wrote him a check right there for a third of the job. His guys came on the appointed day and did the work with no problems in one day.

Marathon did an excellent job, from the first appointment when Robert Hall showed up exactly on time to give us an estimate, to the end iof the job. The crew was courteous, friendly, and professional. Their work was excellent. They cleaned up. They were prompt and completed the work in a timely manner. Our house looks great. We also had them paint a bathroom for us and that was also done well. The final cost was higher than the estimate because of the need to replace some windowsill wood that had rotted that wasn't apparent when the estimate was given to us.

The worker did a very good job when he was there. The owner would call but he did not do a good job at watching what the worker was doing. They showed up on-time to do the work.

This company did a great job. It was a difficult job & they did a very neat job & they were efficient & cleaned up after themselves & were done quikly & the house looks beautiful.

The paint was matched perfectly. However, some sections of the house that were supposed to be left alone, got painted, too. Some of the things that were supposed to be painted, didn't get painted. The outside frame around my door was left white, but the door got painted, as well as the inside frame. I think the company owner didn't explain the job well enough. He wasn't there with the guys who were painting. Bob promised he would call me in advance of sending someone out. However, I got home from work a couple of days after I paid the deposit, to find the guys just finishing up on the job. The quality of the painting was excellent. I don't think that some of the soffit was caulked or repaired as promised. My house is 2 stories tall so I can't actually verify this. I don't have a way to get up there close enough but from the ground, I still see some places that should have been repaired. I called Bob as soon as I was able and left a message. I let him know that I would NOT be available immediately after I left the message and to call me at work the next day. I had to leave. He called me back about 10 minutes later, after I was gone. I will admit, I haven't tried to get in touch with him since that time. But he hasn't tried to reach me, either.

The job went great. Bob Hall followed up immediately to my phone call. He came over and surveyed the job to be done and gave me the estimate right away. We set up the job within 2 days. The crew of 5 showed up at the designated time and began right away. They were all extremely polite and hard-working. They asked permission to play some music while they worked and kept the volume down, it was actually very nice music. They finished the job in approx. 6 hours, cleaning up completely and moving things back where they found them. The patio went from practically black with dirt to white in color after the power washing. I should also note that there was some extra paint, so Ruben (the foreman) painted another small window and the basement walkout door. I thought that was extremely nice, since that was not included in the contract. I certainly would not expect that every time, but I thought it went above-and-beyond as service for a first-time client. I will definitely use them for other services in the future.

We solicited estimates from three painting companies, two of which came in at about the same price and one was Marathon (Bob Hall). The third company's estimate was significantly higher. Mr. Hall wrote the estimate at the time of his visit to review of the scope of the job, which at first made me skeptical. Another aspect that differentiated Marathon was Mr. Hall's readiness to start the job almost immediately. From start to finish took a little over one week. The Hispanic painting crew (three men) was on time and considerate of some special needs such as not letting our devious cat get out of the house. Items that were not done to our satisfaction were corrected when the crew or Mr. Hall were notified about them. In the main, the crew was careful of furniture and decorations, but had some trouble re-hanging window treatments correctly. Although the intent was to match the color of the current paint, at least at this time, which is about a month since the job was completed, the new color still seems a bit different (more tan), but not for the worse.

Horrible job I would not recommend this painter. I was initially impressed with the person who gave me the estimate and was under the impression he would be doing the job himself. The two individuals who actually did the work were questionable. They did not appear to work very hard. Also they did a sloppy job, drip marks all over the walls and lousy job of sanding/speckling. In order to paint the high spots on the wall, they leaned the ladder up against the wet wall, leaving marks in the paint. We had to have everything re-done after they left. Run away fast if you come across this company.

Job was started when promised, and workers were skilled, careful, courteous, hard working and were obviously trying their best to do a good job. For example, when powerwashing the deck, they also washed the driveway, walkway and a wall that was not part of the paint job. There were no annoying radios blaring, and they cleaned up the area well when finished. Contractor took extra care to accommodate a neighbor who is sensitive to chemical odors from drying paint. I did not get competitive price bids, but the original contract price seemed reasonable considering the amount of labor involved. Lack of a valid comparison price is the only reason I rated the price good instead of excellent.

He never came out. I also called three times and he never called me back.

Robert returned my call immediately, scheduled a visit for the next day, and commenced work just three days after that. His crew was prompt and courteous, and they appear to have done excellent work. They did a satisfactory job of cleaning up the site, and Robert followed up to make sure we were satisfied with the job. Marathon did premium work at a very reasonable price.

Robert Hall gave us an estimate of $8000 on the spot and stuck to it, despite some unforeseen problems and materials needed, keeping his promise to complete the job to our satisfaction. We got a very good deal, as the work took much longer than anticipated. Admittedly, we added a few extra items to the job while it was in progress, for which we paid an extra $800.00. Bob s employees were reliable and hard-working, showing up between 7 and 7:15am every day and working until about 5pm, then cleaning up before leaving. Most of the work was done by two men. The work was professional and Bob was willing to have things redone if we were not satisfied. The team put an extra coat of paint on parts of the porch when we were dissatisfied with the color. Besides being cooperative and responsive to suggestions, Bob came up with innovative, money-saving solutions to problems, such as using springs where window sashes were broken to avoid dismounting the window. We recommend Marathon Painting.

Bob and his crew were great. They did exactly what they said they would do in the contract, they showed up to work on time, started the job when they said they would (weather permitting of course), and our house looks great. The work was done in a timely manner. As with any job, there were a few touch up and minor punch list items to be fixed which they attended to with no problems; they were responsive to any issues or concerns. They painted five samples that we chose on the back of our house so we could pick the best color. The crew was friendly and respected our house and property. I would definitely use them again for future work. We have had many compliments on the work done, with some even thinking that we had new siding installed. Our house looks great and we couldn't be happier.

The work done was good and thorough. This is a large, tall house and two sides have sloping ground which made ladder placement difficult. They completed the work in a week in the high heat with no rain issues. My gardens took a beating, but I was more concerned about their safety up on those ladders than about my plants which can grow back. My only minor complaint is the level of clean up afterwards; we had to clean up paper, tape, cigarette butts and food containers that were scattered around the house; not enough to call Bob back about.

This work was done very late in the fall of '06. Work was originally estimated to take 1 week, but ended up taking 2 weeks due to weather, and because they did such a thorough job on dealing with peeling paint on the trim. Other companies who gave estimates said "there was only so much you can do with the trim." Bob assured me that he would take care of it and his crew did. They scraped and used a power sander to get the trim nice and smooth. A couple of days he pushed things a little too close with wet weather on the horizon, and actually ended up doing a couple of areas twice because of it. Bob and his crew were a pleasure to deal with. I'm not very trusting of contractors, especially when they say "trust me, we'll take care of everything." Bob said that several times, and he really meant it when he said it. His estimate was also one of the lowest I received.

Sanding job was not thorough enough and floors were not properly prepped for staining. Sub contractors hired for the staining was not sufficiently skilled, and the floors looked terrible when they were finished. Bob Hall offered to redo the entire job (with a different crew), and we agreed. Sanding was better the second time but still not perfect and when they started staining again, the color was not coming out consistent. We stopped them after 2 rooms. To his credit Bob gave us a full refund. Marathon has done a lot of painting for us, exterior and interior, and they do a great job at that for a fair price.

I was very satisfied with how the project went. Bob Hall was very responsive and flexible regarding scheduling to fit my needs. He answered all my questions about how the job was to done. The crew came on time and did an outstanding job on both the siding and the deck. The crew was polite, careful, and left the yard neat and tidy at the end of the work.

Bob showed up on time for estimate and gave us a comparable price to other bids, but we selected him because he had a better attitude than others. His crew showed up on schedule to do the work and they were very thorough and careful. Our house is difficult to paint - it is very tall including four chimneys that are covered with siding. The quality of the work was very good. We will call him again when we are ready to do the interior.
