Remedy Water Restoration

Remedy was prompt in meeting the appointment time. Required a fix to the stopper in the vanity sink. Ultimately the entire stopper and pipe joint needed be replaced. Because of the stopper issue, I thought it may have needed to be snaked because it was also draining slowly. Once the pipe joint was replaced including the stopper it drained fine, but I thought it may still need to be snaked. He was adamant that if it needed to be snaked it would have to be done from the pipe and not at the sink. This irritated me because it is simply not true if you have the auger to snake a pipe. At the end of the day, the drain did not need to be snaked and it drains fine. The job was well done and completed in under an hour, but you do have to keep in mind the extent of the job that you need.

Servicer was knowledgeable and friendly; could have done a better job cleaning up after. The price was rather steep, IMO, but the pump was replaced and there was extra labor involved in removing a sink cabinet, (along with disconnecting/reconnecting water pipes) that covered the pump cover. He did complete the job in a timely manner, however. I would call on him for other plumbing needs.

We initially set the appointment up for 9AM. He called the evening before wanting to change the time to 7:30AM. Once he showed up and determined that he was going to have to snake the drain, he quoted a price of $479. What ? Informed him no thanks that we were not prepared to spend $500. He then proceeds to show us a price list from Roto Rooter and what they would charge for the job. We don't care what Roto Rooter would charge. He had some other companies prices too. How do we know he didn't make those price lists up himself ? We told him we were still not interested in him performing this work for us. He then asked what we would be willing to pay. We figured about $100 for the service call and maybe another $100-$150 to snake the drain. $250. He said he would do it for $279. We reluctantly agreed. He then pulls out a very small hand held snake that we could of certainly rented ourselves at Home Depot for much less money. Very disappointed in the entire experience. He was a nice man, but just not customer friendly with his pricing. We also didn't care for him comparing his prices to other companies. For what he did, in the amount of time it took with the small piece of machinery he used to do it with, we felt like we got ripped even paying $279.
