The work had to be re-done by another company.

Highly disappointed in their customer service. First, I scheduled an appointment for 8/21 @ 4. I took off early to make it home in time. I was given a window of 4pm to 6pm. The tech calls at 4:30 to say that he would be there in another two hours. At 7pm, I called him back because I still had not heard anything. He tells me that he is stuck in traffic and would not make it to me until 8:45pm. I asked if I could reschedule until the next day, 8/22, and he said yes. He assured me that since he had missed the appointment, I would be given priority and a tech would be here at 4:30 on 8/22. I rush home again on 8/22 and arrive home at 4pm. Another tech calls me at 4:15 to say that he did not understand why yesterday's tech told me that because this is a high traffic time. He then proceeded to tell me that he was now declining my appointment and that they could not do it because I am just to far. Mind you all address and contact information was taken on the initial call and I was told that there was a tech who lives in my same neighborhood. A total waste of two days. I would not recommend them at all.

Way overpriced, declined. $30 to visit, tech Robert wanted $220 (presumably $190 plus the $30 visit) for 1 hour + 1 capacitor *without* check of compressor or its controller until *after* the $220. A capacitor is $20. An hour of labor is $80. (Business overhead comes from labor rate.) I will gamble with $100, but $220 is out of the question. Angie's List recommedation #fail.

Iain came promptly and spent time checking out various potential with the AC system. The water pan at the bottom of the HVAC unit was filled with water which was caused by the clogged condensation drain. This unit had been serviced by my regular maintenance contract provider, McCrea Heating and Cooling, just a month earlier, but they obviously did not take the time to "blow out" the drain as Iain did. The work was a little pricey but complete and I felt confident it was done right. The initial diagnostic charge was only $30 but the rest of the work was $250.

On the hottest day of the year our AC started leaking water. Even though there were no immediate openings the company made sure to schedule a tech to come out same day. The tech Steve was very professional, courteous, and punctual. He was able to quickly resolve the problem and fix a problem the contractor who rehabbed our house left behind. Steve also took the time to show how I could resolve the problem myself if it were to happen again. Would highly recommend JDL HVAC Services.

Our central air conditioning system stopped work Thursday morning (July 18th). My wife searched for providers and JDL responded first and we thought it must be good. It was a bad assumption. A technician from JDL came and spent about 20 minutes in the basement and told my wife that the control board was bad and left. We called them multiple times and asked for time and schedule when they are coming to fix the system and only got response as they are working on it. Friday July 18, Aniya from JDL emailed us a quote for the control board which costs $929.54 and nothing else mentioned as labor and schedule to fix the system. This morning July 19th, I called JDL again and still no one picked up the phone and no indication when they are coming to fix it. With the heat advisory and 90F in the house, I have to send my dog to my friend’s house and search for another provider. In the meantime, I emailed JDL back and gave an ultimatum to reply before noon. The owner, I think the name is Joe, called and started complaining about both my wife and I contacted them so they were confused and asked me to be patient and won’t stop talking as I was getting really frustrated with his attitudes. He said that he has ordered the parts and will pick up Monday but not sure whether they are getting the right part and can not confirm they are coming to fix the system. In the meantime, I found another provider today and came quickly and fixed the problem in an hour. The owner of JDL later called and said that they are talking to Carrier and found the parts and can come to fix the system. I told him that the system has been fixed and I want to get the $89 fee back and he agreed. Later he called again and asked me for the invoice from the company that fixed my AC so he can process the money back and fire his technician. He said he can not process the money back or fire his technician without the invoice. I refused to send him the invoice. But here you go Joe or whatever your name is. The company that fixed my AC is Mannix [*** Link removed ***] The technician from Mannix is Darren. It only costs me $185 for the parts. I still want my $89 back so I can buy my dog some nice treat because your lack of response and commitment. By the way, if any of the technicians who work at JDL read this, please quit and work for Mannix. Because the owner will fire you if you make one mistake. My name is Peter and I stand by every word in this review.

Stated they didn't want to take on my job. Asked for a 12-12 ft ladder. Extremely unprofessional.

This was by far the WORST experience. I paid for the service call. Nothing was performed to repair my AC. Only condensate line checked after I insisted they come in because I was concerned about water on my floor by my furnace. I was told after the man blew into the PVC pipe with his mouth that it was clear. I was concerned that my fuses in the box blew after about an hour after i replaced them. I didn't know why my AC suddenly turned off. I also called. I was told my TRANE HIGH Efficiency AC is too old. I know it is old, but I need it to work again. I know that when it is on it cools my house very well. JDL Tech said shortly after he arrived that I need to have it replaced. He said the fuse box should be replaced and I should get a new furnace. JDL Tech kept saying everything is too old and it is time to change everything out. He told me it would cost around $11,000 to change everything out. Next day, I hired another company who actually repaired my AC by adding freon because it was a little low. He tightened the brass fittings at the AC and made sure there were no leaks. The outside electrica fusel box was changed and caulked to prevent water from getting inside the box and existing wiring reconnected and tightened and put into plastic sleeve to protect it from the elements. Now everything works, no fuse problems or any troubles at all!!! My AC is working perfectly!!!! So the fuses no longer blow, and I found out that it was not the coils or drip pan inside the furnace that was causing water on my floor, but it was my whole house humidifier that caused the water on my floor. It is now unplugged and turned off. AC is cooling my house like it is supposed to and no more troubles!!! I wound never recommend or JDL HVAC to anyone and I certainly would never have them come back to my home. My experience was awful, I cried and felt that they had no intention of repairing anything at my home to get my AC running when I really, really wanted them to. They just said replace it and it's not worth it to fix. A waste of time and money. Hiring a different AC heating and cooling company that specialized in repairs and who works for several home warranty companies was the best choice for me. I hired this other company the very next day and I am so happy that I did! Everything works great now!

Ire was my technician for JDL HVAC. The service was excellent! I would highly recommend Ire and JDL. I actually took a few more of Ire's cards and gave them to my neighbors. I submitted my request on Angie's List and they responded literally instantly. Ire, my technician, called several times to let me know exactly when he would arrive. He was very thorough and very professional. He explained everything he was doing and showed me the meter readings etc. to verify what was happening. This way I understood what was being done and why. The service was excellent. I would highly recommend both Ire and JDL to others and I will definetely call them again.

The HVAC stopped working on one of coldest days in the winter. Joe immediately send IRE within 30 minutes!!! IRE was great, he fixed the system for an extremely reasonable price. We told him that we were going to replace the system and he gave us a great quote. IRE was so pleasant and professional and we definitely wanted him to do the work. He installed a wonderful system in one day!!! I highly recommend IRE and JDL HVAC they are the best.

JDL HVAC Services was the contractor provided by our home warranty company to repair our heating system. The were initially prompt and came out to the house and attempted to diagnose the problem. The technician though the problem was the circuit board and JDL delivered a replacement from Carrier the same day. Unfortunately, the part did not fix the problem and the technician thought the replacement part was defective. Unfortunately, it was Friday and Carrier wasn't open on the weekend. I specifically asked the technician what would happen on Monday and was told that JDL would get a new part Monday morning and then come to the house immediately to install it. This was very important since we had no heat on Friday and over the weekend and the temperature dropped below 20 degrees at night. Monday was a disaster. Unknown by us, JDL called at 7:30 a.m. and when we didn't answer, they removed us from their schedule. At 8:30, we realized they'd called, and contacted Joe and he added us back to the schedule, but in the afternoon. When a new (more experienced) technician showed up, he did NOT bring any replacement parts. When I called Joe to inquiry why the technician had no parts with him as promised Friday, he said he wouldn't buy another part because he couldn't get a refund on the first replacement circuit board. He also wasn't convinced the heater circuit board was the problem and wanted to do more diagnostics. I also asked Joe why they didn't come out in the morning as originally promised, and he had the audacity to blame us for not answering his phone call which we had no idea to expect. He also blamed his technician for providing us incorrect information. He did put another employee on standby to get parts from Carrier once the new diagnosis was complete. The new technician found another part that had failed and it was delivered with the original replacement circuit board. Both replacement parts were installed. While the technicians were friendly and informative, Joe was rude and lacked friendly or acceptable customer service skills/friendly. He also does not keep his technicians informed (the new technicians couldn't answer any of my questions) and it did not appear the technicians speak to each other when they transfer a repair. Overall this was not a positive experience due to the poor customer service from Joe. He did call an apologize (left a voicemail) after the repair was complete.

It was around 6:30 pm, so well after business hours, on a sub-freezing, Winter night, when my 24 year old furnace shut down. It was not 10 seconds after hitting the button to submit my Angie's List questionnaire about my problem, even before I could receive their list of recommended service providers, that my phone rang. I thought, it couldn't be...but it was... someone responding to my distress call. It was Joe, owner of JDL HVAC Services. Despite the late, inconvenient hour, Joe and Ire had my problem diagnosed within a few hours. Their response time took my breath away. I called another company, hoping for a second bid, and they said that despite the fact that I was an existing customer, if I was not a member of their Eagle something-or-another, priority program, I would receive a call in the morning. That call never came. I was flooded with calls from service providers for 24 hours who could attend to my problem anywhere from tomorrow to a week from now. Remember it's Winter, with sub-freezing temperatures. I told them that by time they appeared to diagnose the problem, the job would be done. JDL HVAC Services first texted at 6:30am the next morning. (I had told them to contact me at any time.) Despite glowing reviews and an A+ rating, I was nervous since I had not used them previously and I had not been able to secure any other bids within my timeframe. After I decided to sign a contract, JDL HVAC Services showed-up in force with 3 trucks and several men. Within less than 24 hours from my initial call, Joe and his team installed an entirely new, high-quality HVAC system. Before 5:00pm the day after my first, after hours distress call, the job was finished. JDL HVAC Services did the job with dispatch, efficiency, a great system and professionalism. I will be using them again and recommending them to friends, family and neighbors.

We have just had a new furnace and air conditioner installed by jdlhvacservises.com, (410) 793-6441 The furnace quit on one of those below freezing days. I called on a Wednesday and JDH had it installed on Friday. They were able work us in as they realized, we had a big problem. The came on time, complete with a competent qualified crew, a new furnace and air conditioner. They were extrodionarly clean, efficient, courteous and understanding. I would highly recommend them for any heating and air conditioning needed. They are generously honest and very nice people.

I came home from work last night to find my furnace stopped working. I braved the night in a cold house, and called JDL first thing in the morning (they open at 7, which is great). They sent Iain and Xavier within an hour, and they quickly diagnosed the problem. They had to run to another job and get the needed replacement part for the furnace, but were back a couple hours later to finish. It took them maybe 20 minutes. We have heat again! Iain and Xavier were both very kind and courteous, and explained what the problem was and how to avoid it in the future. They also offered a service agreement that includes semi-annual HVAC inspection, which I purchased (and which gave me a discount on the repairs). Next time I have a heating/AC problem, I will absolutely contact JDL.

Ire was unbelievable and went above and beyond, he fixed problems we encountered when we bought the house a year ago and thought was a much bigger issue. He stayed until the job was done and done right! Then proceeded to walk me though and show me every step of the way. Very friendly and polite, even friended my cat who is pretty picky with her affection! 😁

Sadly it looked nice at first; however, my AC never blew cold. I had a second company come in to inspect his work and they questioned if JDL understood what he was doing. The weld were he attached the line was leaking. Also he didn't correctly remove the old refrigerant. As a result the system was contaminated. When I called Joe I explained it was leaking. He was willing to come look at it. However, should I trust him? He didn't remove the old refrigerant and now my unit is contaminated and clogged. ;( It will cost me 1000 to fix from this other company to fix his errors in installation. Again Should I trust him to fix what he did wrong the first time? Would you? Or should I have another company come and fix his errors?

We plugged in the request to Angie's List and while Angie's List was still spinning up the three recommendations, Joe called. It was 6:30 AM on a Saturday. He was able to come out that morning and identify the problems. Due to our having an odd size coil, we had to wait until the distributors were open on Monday to get the coil. We arranged to have them come out on Tuesday and they were there within the agreed upon time window and got the oil coil out and new coil installed, new 410A refrigerant charge, and we are up and running in a cool house again!

JDL (Joe and Ian) did a great job. They got to me within a day off my call, showed up on time (on July 4th, with no upcharge) and got the job done quickly and efficiently. Both were totally professional and showed great respect for the house and the plants near the AC unit. I would absolutely hire them again, and would recommend them to others.

I called Joe on one of the hottest Friday nights this year when my AC motor blew. He came out and diagnosed the problem. He was very knowledgeable and walked me thru everything that needed to be done. Drop cloths were laid and all of the old equipment was removed and new equipment installed. By Saturday night I had my new system installed and up and running. I plan to use JDL for my HVAC service and annual maintenance for years to come.

Joe was wonderful! We submitted a request through our home warranty on a saturday evening. Joe called Sunday morning and showed up as soon as he could. Very professional, wore shoe covers, answered all of our questions and was able to diagnose and assist in solving our problem. He gave us confidence and we are so happy our warranty recommended Joe.

JDL service was exceptional. They we prompt and extremely courteous. They took the time to explain the issue and was able to complete the repair. The repair required for them to pick up a part from a supply company. They took the time to pick up the part and complete the repair in the same day. I would definitely rehire JDL HVAC Services and recommend them to a friend.

JDL was fantastic. My A/C unit died on Saturday, they sent someone out within 2 hours and they were willing to come back a do a full replacement on Memorial day. I plan to use them again and can’t recommend them highly enough.

Terrific all around. Our air conditioning went out on Memorial Day weekend and Joe came out early in the morning on Sunday and diagnosed a simple thermostat issue. He fixed it and charged a very reasonable fee. He also provided solid professional advice regarding our aging HVAC system. We will definitely be calling him to replace the whole system in the near future. Highly recommend.
