The service worked out great. He came right on time, and he did everything we asked him to. He checked everything and fixed a few things. The price of the big deal was great. I would use him in the future.

I will certainly be using this company in the future and have recommended them to friends and neighbors.

I had an emergency electrical problem and they were highly responsive. They are professional and knowledgeable. I have dealt with two different people. The first time the service person was very knowledgeable and solved the problem very quickly. They are an excellent choice because of their responsiveness and their problem solving skills.

My experience with them was very good. I chose them because my daughter had used them once. She had looked them up on Angie's List and I tried them out because of it. I'm very happy with the service and the work they provided. The price was pretty good for what they did. There was a problem with their punctuality, but they called us up and straightened it out.

This was the first time this experienced electrician had come in contact with these modular units so there was probably a little time lost adjusting to an unfamiliar product, but he was still able to complete the job in the purchased two hour time frame.

They even took the time to place it in the correct position since the builder did not center the fixtures over the sink. Didn't even make a mess!! Awesome service.

I came home from work one day to find a serious brownout situation in my end-unit townhouse. The odd thing was, only certain circuits were affected -- mainly on the first floor. The lights were on, but only at about half the usual output. Other devices were struggling -- like a Comcast TV set-top box was in a constant state of rebooting. Circuits on other floors were unaffected. I checked the breaker box and found nothing out of the ordinary there. I immediately suspected a power company problem and canvassed a couple of my neighbors. No problem there. I called my power company (BG&E) and they told me the problem was probably in my house and I should a call an electrician. I searched Angie's for the nearest A-rated electrician and found C.D. Williams. I was a little put-off when an telephone-answering service (live person) answered the call, but she said I would get a call from the company within five minutes. Sure enough a tech called. I described the problem; he asked a few questions, told me to disconnect any computers or other electronic equipment, and he would arrive within the hour. He was there fifty minutes later. First he checked the breaker box. He had to remove the outer metal frame to take some measurements with a meter. Then he went outside to take more measurements at the power company's meter. In a little more that 10 minutes he had determined that the problem was indeed with the power company and only they could remedy the situation. Since he was there, I questioned him about some other electrical work I was contemplating, mainly a heat lamp assembly in a second floor bathroom. He advised a proper heater instead, and did extensive research on how a circuit might be added (it could not tap into the existing circuit) and how to route the wires. In all he was there for about an hour. He charged me $195.00, their standard fee for emergency service, which I agreed to beforehand and thought was fair. When I presented him with a 10%-off coupon for first-time Angie's List customers. He said he could not honor it for emergency service. Instead he offered me an additional 10% off on my first regular service, and added wording to my coupon to that effect with his signature. A nice touch. I was thoroughly satisfied with J.D. Williams Electrical Service and intend to hire them in the future. They were responsive, punctual, professional and competent. Oh yeah. I called BG&E and told them what my electrician said. They sent a guy out and he arrived an hour later (I was a little surprised because on the phone they basically said he'll get there when he gets there) and he told me he found the problem and had dispatched a crew and "you'll probably have full power by bedtime". It was 8 o'clock. I didn't have full power until 11 AM the next day, but I'm not complaining. What I did complain to BG&E's billing office about was that I just spent $200 for a private electrician to tell me what BG&E should have known and they should offer me a credit on my bill. You know what they said? "Fuggedaboutit"

The electrician who performed the service was great to work with - punctual, clean, friendly. I would use CD Williams again but not as part of an Angies List deal. I had purchased 2 hours of electrical repair for $109; however, when I informed them that the ceiling fan was in a 2-story den, I was told that I would have to pay an additional $175 for scaffolding rental. i thought they they would have any equipment needed for interior work. Since I had already purchased the electrical service, I was stuck. There were no exclusions or additional costs listed so I was surprised to learn of the additional charge. I'm not sure if the problem was with the contractor or Angie's List, but the cost advertised did not cover the cost of having the work performed. They did good work. If I had them submit a bid for work, I'd probably use them again, but I'd definitely want all costs specified up front.

He arrived on time, did everything we asked quickly and well. He was polite and accommodating.

All this was finished in about an hour and a half. I was overjoyed!!! He problem solved how to fix the attic fan control by replacing the one knob switch with 2 switches:one for off and on and one for high and low. So great! He was very neat and cleaned each area thoroughly. He was a nice guy and I would definitely work with him again.

I called them and they said they would return my call. They never did. I have tried to call them several times and they have been unresponsive so I hired someone else to do the work.

The electrician arrived at the scheduled time, reviewed the work that had been indicated and proceeded to work. The work was extremely satisfactory and the electrician provided in-depth description of what he was doing. The skill level was most impressive.

The electrician arrived on time, went straight to work and completed all of the work within the allotted time frame; with a little time to spare. He was pleasant and gave some advise on what is required to repair a recessed lighting issue that I am are experiencing. Overall I would recommend this company to anyone on Angie's list

Initially replaced bad circuit breaker--did this very well. Based on this I also had them replace the entire box with new breakers. Did a very good job in a timely manner. The price was reasonable.

This was my first Angie's List experience, and it could not have gone better. The company was quick to contact me to set up the appointment. Both the scheduler and electrician were extremely friendly and professional. The electrician, Scotty, was prompt, knowledgeable, and skilled. He was able to preform all of the work in an efficient and timely manner while explaining what he was doing at all stages of the work. He also provided all manner of other helpful and useful general electrical tips and knowledge. I would strongly recommend them to anyone.

A roofer wanted double this price to install the fan. Mr. Williams purchased the fan, arrived promptly when he said he would, and competently completed the jobs described above. We had used him several years ago to install a ceiling fan and were equally pleased then.

Best estimate. The electrician arrived on time and completed the job in a few hours. They replaced a ceiling fan, several light fixtures (some needed new wiring), install a new timer, and install new lighting in the backyard. Great work and services.

Called and got an estimate over the phone right away, then the owner asked if he could stop by on the weekend to see the home to discuss with his employee what to expect. Then a worker showed up early in the week and worked FAST, and cleanly. Easy company to work with, and will definitely use them again in the future!

They were very good at going about their work. They were very professional and did a good job.

Single worker, arrived on time, worked diligently, finished in an hour. Price for labor was $135, and they only charged $2 for a replacement switch.

I called the office for an estimate and received the answering service. Within an hour from leaving a message, the contractor called me back and gave me an estimate for the work. Since it sounded like a fair price, we tentatively scheduled the work for Friday that week. Thursday morning, he called and he said that he could come over within the hour. I was going out, but we scheduled the work for some time between 2 and 5 p.m. He showed up around 3 p.m. He was courteous and professional. I provided a sheet to catch the drywall pieces and I covered other pieces of furniture nearby. I left him to his work and all went well. The hole was just big enough for the junction box and there were minimal debris on the sheet and floor. The job was completed in under 2 hours and the price we paid was the original estimated price.
