Roof Works

I purchased the $3,450.00 deal for a new roof from Roofworks via Angie's list. However, when the estimator arrived it was determined that an additional $1,050.00 (after discount) would be needed to cover the additional tiles & materials (life time warranty), labor (15 year warranty on workmanship), and additional level to complete the entire roof plus a small roof over the rear bay window. As a few of my neighbors recently had their roofs replaced, I was aware of the price range that each neighbor paid, and since my roof was slightly more complex than their's and required slightly more materials, I knew that the additional costs were very reasonable. From the first contact with Roofworks through the installation of the new roof, the entire process took three weeks and two days. The actual job took the entire day (8 hours) to complete. Overall, Roofworks completed work is excellent as is evident in their quality and workmanship. As Roofworks is located in Hyattsville, Maryland, I had some concern as to whether they would be responsive to my roof replacement project in Sterling, VA. However, the distance was not an issue at all. I am well pleased with the high quality work performed by Roofworks and I highly recommend. Also, upon completion of work, the roof installation crew policed the area on both my property as well as that of my neighbors' property. Thanks again Roofworks for my beautiful new roof. Well done!

They sent a roofer out for the estimate, and their office kept me apprised of when he should arrive on the day of the estimate. Our roofer, Dave, was very friendly, and was able to quickly ascertain what the issue was and got back with an estimate quickly. Fortunately, I had some shingles stored away from the previous owner, and Dave was able to use them without any issues. All in all, good service, would use again.

All aspects of interacting with this company were great! They were responsive to all communication, they were punctual with all appointments, the consultation was very informative and they use technology that allowed me to see what the new shingles would look like on my house so that I didn't have to guess from the tiny sample swatches. They crew was very efficient and cleaned the area completely. I was not charged any unexpected fees. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend this company.

I contacted them through the website overnight, and they contacted me promptly the next morning. Since there was another storm coming in a few days, they had someone at my house within 24 hours of the estimate. They were fast, professional, courteous, and willing to work with my schedule (I wasn't able to stay at home for the repair, so they called me when they were ready to access the attic to install the latches). I would definitely hire them again.

The representative from Roof works came to the home, conducted an assessment, but never provided me with an estimate. I called three times inquiring of the estimate, but none was ever provided for me to gage a budget and decide if I wanted to use them. This was disappointing since I felt good after the conversation with the individual who conducted the assessment; he also told me of needing my siding above the side porch repaired. He said Roof Works has financial options that I may take advantage of, and that they would work with me, but no one ever provided an estimate to move forward; I gave up requesting.

Went well. Work done quickly and cleanly. Dave was very approachable and amenable to answering any of the questions I had. A very good representative of the company.

Due to what was wrong with the roof we couldn't use the Angie's List special, but we did use the company & we did find them through Angie's List. They had to come out on sort of an emergency basis. When I had gone up there to check the gutters in December for a final time I discovered the roof was spongy as all get out. So, I got some names actually off of Angie's List and had them all come out and then we picked Roofworks out of the estimates that we got. We got 4 estimates & Roofworks was the one we chose. The previous roofers that we had had had really ripped us off. The roof was only done 5 years before. I'm still deciding what to do about that. These guys I watched them and they made it all right. They fixed the rafters. They fixed everything. Now we're good to go, but it was horribly expensive as you can imagine. Hideously so, to have all of that done. They started out with one estimate and then they had to do more, because as they uncovered things they found more rotted wood that none of us could tell about until the outer shell, the siding, came off. They were good. They showed me each piece of wood as they took it down and I could easily see and feel that it was rotted. Again, thanks to the last roofers who didn't replace the underlayment when I asked them about it. They seemed to have done a good job on the shingles. They seemed to have done everything they said they were going to do and they were very efficient. I had begged them to get it done in a hurry and triage us in closer to the top of their list because they had quite a long wait for their services. They had almost 3 weeks worth of customers in their queue, so I called them up and threw myself on their mercy & said this roof is so spongy that if we get a heavy rain or snow it's going to be pouring in. So, they brought a double crew out. We were fortunate enough in early January to get a couple of days over 50 degrees & so they brought out everything they had they threw at us and they finished it all in one day. It was truly amazing. Rafters, underlayment, all of the proper ice guards, new soffits, they even had to paint a part of our front porch where they had to strip rotted wood down. It was amazing. They were great. They did a good job. I can't tell you exactly how much the whole thing cost because it went quite a bit over the initial estimate, but they had given us a written list of how much extras were going to cost if more things were uncovered and had said to us there are certain things that you can't tell about until you take the outer siding off. The guy was great. He had explained to us that because of what was wrong there could have been water running down and rotting things and he was right. Overall, so far so good. Sometimes you can't tell for a while with roofs, but they were prompt. They did everything they said they were going to do & they did it well. They guy who was the sales person was excellent. I would definitely say they did a great job. I don't think the price was unfair because I had gotten 4 estimates. They had all said pretty much the same thing. If we find more, there will be more, and here are the price lists for more. I'd say it was fair, given the enormous amount of things they had to do. It's a good thing. They did a good job. They fit us in and I'm happy about the promptness with which they worked us into the queue. For quality they used good materials because I called my brother-in-law who is a construction manager and I gave him all of the estimates from all of the companies and he picked Roofworks for the materials that they used & he would know. He does an enormous volume of these kinds of things. They were great at responsiveness. They came out right away to check the roof & they fit us into the queue when I begged them because they had been up front and said they had several weeks worth of people waiting for either repairs or new roofs because the weather hasn't been conducive. When I called them back I said please and that I was scared and they said okay, we'll do the best we can first day. Then they brought the double crew, so you can't ask for better than that. That was great. They were right on time. The salesman had come out twice and he was right on time both times as well, which I like. A lot of times these sales people don't show up when they say they're going to & sometimes not at all. They were great. The whole giant crew came on time when they said they were going to be here and the salesman came twice and he showed up when he said he would both times. That's reassuring. They were great at professionalism. The sales person gave us by far the most detailed estimate and the person who came out to supervise the crew was constantly up on the roof taking pictures and then showing me the pictures so that I could see the progress as it went along in places that I couldn't see from the ground. So, I couldn't ask for better than that. The cost was kind of stressful. I didn't think they over charged us, but it was kind of a lot of money that we hadn't expected to spend. That wasn't something we had prepared for, but we got through it. They pretty much get A's all the way around. I definitely would use them again.

I called the office on Saturday and they returned my call on Monday and set up the appointment for that Thursday. I was given a two-hour window, and the worker came well within that time. Based on his estimate, i chose to get the work done right then and he completed the repair in less than an hour. I believe the cost was fair, but I did not have a point of comparison. I think the company is very professional and from what I can tell does quality work. I will definitely use them again.

I contacted Roofworks on 2/13 to have a roof inspection and they sent someone out the same day. The rep took photos of the roof, explained what needed to be done and provided an estimate. I contacted them a week later and they were able to accommodate my schedule to have the rook replaced. This the second time I've used Roofworks and their customer service is Outstanding.

Excellent. The repair was performed in a timely manner & an additional small fixes was done @ no additional cost

The sales person was prompt, efficient, friendly, and helpful. He helped us match the roof shingles to our porch which already had a newer roof. The work crew was tidy and work was completed in the time expected and for the costs outlined in the estimate.

I got estimates from 5 different contractors and I thought Roofworks' had the best price for the materials I used. The estimate was thorough and fair. Also, they had a very quick turnaround time. They told me the work will be done within two weeks of signing the contract, it was actually done well before the two week period. Stephani was always prompt and clear in his communications. The actual installation went smoothly. Because I live in a townhouse, debris from the roof went flying into my neighbors' driveways and decks and Roofworks crew was nice enough to clean up everything. Only time will tell how the roof survives, but so far I have been very happy with them.

The work itself is amazing. I couldn't be happier with the team that showed up to do the installation. They were professional and polite. That said, scheduling was a nightmare. I had an estimate done and paid a deposit, and then had to have the estimate changed when the damage was determined to be worse than anticipated. I had to call twice after the walkthrough to get the updated estimate. I signed the contract and called a week later, 2 weeks later, and 2.5 weeks later, trying to find out when the work would be scheduled. Because of the nature of the work, the contractors would need to have access to the inside of my house, so I needed to take the day off from work. Each time I called, I was told I would get a call back. I never received a call back. According to the contract, the work was to begin within 21 days. At the 22 day mark, I called and left a message asking when they were going to schedule the work now that they were in violation of the contract. I received a call back at 8:30 the following morning while I was at work saying that they were actually on site at my house beginning the work, and oh yes, I did need to be there for it, so could I please go home. Thankfully, I am lucky enough to have an understanding boss. By the time I got home, there was a hole cut in the side of the house, so I'm not sure what would have happened if I would not have been able to be there. As I said, the team performing the work was amazing. Unfortunately, they left some of the wiring disconnected and I was promised someone would come back the following Monday to repair it. That took another two weeks to finally get fixed. This company has great potential, and the work, once completed, was awesome. That said, you have to be prepared for some serious administrative problems.

This was the best price for the job after shopping it out to several roofers. The credentials were all in line so I felt very confident that I had chosen well. A one-day job turned into two days, but that didn't matter at all. After the first day, I noticed some debris in my garden and some plants trod upon. I raised my concerns with the company and after the job was completed, the grounds were spotless.

AMAZING Job! I got a number of quotes before choosing Roofworks...remember that little extra you pay today is for quality products and installation that will last for 15 years or more. No hidden costs! The quote is exactly what I paid. Everyone was professional. The installers were amazing.
