Winston's Gutter Service

They were pretty good, pretty reliable, and reasonably priced. They were on time. They called in advance, and they arrived the following day.

The company does not do work in the District even though they are 4.7 miles away. Didn't give a reason just that I was out of there service area.

I didn't know when they were showing up but they did on a Saturday and completed the work quickly and neatly. The price was higher than what we had paid in the past but we liked that they fixed two downspouts that we needed to have done before. They were polite and also trimmed the branches of a tree that was leaning on the roof. Overall we were happy with the work and would have them come again on a regular basis.

Overall the service went well. I would definitely use them again.

The work they did was thorough. They cleaned the gutter, host down the roof and fixed the drain pipes. The work went very well. They came earlier than I was told they would come. That was great.

Friendly customer service receptionist scheduled me and explained process. This company is great because you don't have to be home during, they just leave you a bill. Job was well done.

They were very prompt. Called them on Monday, they came out and did the work on Wednesday. Left us a bill and noted that the front left gutter had a leak.

I called Winston's office around 3:45pm and a young lady answered the phone who explained the whole process. We had concerns because our gutters were so clogged, that we had a small waterfall coming down onto our front stoop which lead to a small basement flood. She got us on the schedule for an appointment in less than 48 hours, before the next rain hit our area. Also, I asked if they could remove a small satellite dish while they were up there, which she said was no problem at all. When I arrived home from work, they had removed the dish and put it under our deck in the back, so I was happy they kept it concealed. Also, when the rain hit, no more waterfall. I will definitely be calling them in the fall for our next gutter cleaning. They are a much better alternative to unlicensed/uninsured contractors who regularly leave fliers in our neighborhood.

They were very good. They were honest and told me I did not have to have as much work done as other companies had told me. Their prices were very fair.

They did a good job, they had competitive pricing and they were nice men, James and Kenneth.

One phone call was promptly returned and they said they would come within 2 weeks and leave a bill. Instead, they were there within 3 days, were fast and courteous and left a bill as planned. Couldn't have been easier.

The phone call to Winston's was quite unusual. The person who took my call was very friendly and informative; she told me exactly how the service worked and how the bill would be calculated. She said that I would be given about a day's notice before the work would be done so I'd be sure to leave an outside water faucet turned on. I was called that same day and told that the work would be done the following day. As promised, the work was completed in less than an hour the next day and the bill was left on the front door, as promised.

They did a great job. They are efficient, easy to use and prompt. They cleaned up very well. They put the stuff from the gutters in lawn bags and put it out for the garbage men.

I found them on Angie's List. There were leaves in my gutters when they left and I called them immediately when I got home. They said they would come out and when they arrived the wind had picked up and there were more leaves in the gutters. They said that it wasn't their fault. I got the feeling from them that they didn't want me to be a repeat customer.

They did everything as they said they would when I contacted them by phone. No bad surprises whatsoever.

The gutters were cleaned well. However, the bill was for more than I expected based on other Angie's List reports. I called and they adjusted the bill to reflect the actual square footage of gutters cleaned, which was very similar to other gutter cleaning charges on Angie's List.

We had another company clean our gutters but we could not get the down spout to drain. This company came and ran water in the down spout and unclogged it. They were knowledgeable, knew what to do and how to do it. We would hire them again.

They did a great job and they are the only company I use now. Their price seemed to be competitive with others and they had a very good review. I would recommend them,

Well. The only comment I have is that someone was supposed to call to let me know when they were coming but no one did that. They just showed up - fortunately I was home. They were quick, cleaned up well and completed the job.

I called Winston's about 2 weeks ago. They called me back and said they would meet me within 2 weeks without a specified time. They called me back about a week later and said they would be out the next day. I couldn't do it then and said I would call later. I again called back around July 20th and again the response was they would call me back in 2 weeks. They called back the afternoon of July 24 and said they would be at the house on July 25. I called and spoke with someone and gave them my cell number, and as in my past conversations, told them to contact me on my cell # because I had to be there to turn the water on and show them where the specific problem was. She said fine. I called Winston's on Friday the 25 and asked if they had an idea when they would be there. Their response was, we don't know because we give our calls(appointments) to our crews and we never know what crew has what appointment and at what time they will be there. So he couldn't help me. I'm a paying customer and a Real Estate Broker and I would never refer someone who does business like this. It's pathetic that these people expect you to sit in your house all day waiting for them. The vendors I use and REFER out always show up on time. They do great work and don't act like they could care less and don't really need your work. I am finding the vendors on Angie's List a little suspect and am not happy with the people at all.

I called once to schedule, they called back a few days later with an appointment for the following week. They came once, cleaned some of the gutters, but I still was getting water in my basement, so I called them again. They said they'd send someone when they could. After two weeks, no one came, so I called back. They promised me "the order is in the system." Another week later, a second worker came and cleaned one more downspout. I asked if he had cleaned the one I was worried about at the back corner of the house, he said he got it all cleaned out. I was still getting water inside. Last night in the downpour I went out to investigate and immediately found the clogged downspout that had NOT been cleaned. I crouched in the rain for half an hour and dug it out with my hands. Lazy worker, crappy job. Thanks, Winston's.

At first, I thought he did an adequate job, but I noticed that the job was rushed and the shingles close to the gutter were not leveled (we have screens over our gutters) and some where completely flipped up. Also, I found a lot of leaves and debris at the end of the downspouts that he did not clean and had to clean it out myself. I would not use this company again.

I initially called on a Saturday and spoke with a woman who said she would have someone come out and give me an estimate the next week. By Tuesday, I had not heard back so I called. I spoke with a different woman who apologized for the delay in getting back to me and explained that I had not spoken with the normal office staff. She was only there making reminder calls to customers. I gave her all of my information and she quoted me the average price for the gutter system I thought I had. She said someone would come in the next two weeks. To our pleasant surprise, one of Winston's employees came the next day and cleaned the gutters, the price was right on and the gutters look great.

Very well, though I wasn't satisfied with the type of drip strip they used. When I called, they came right back out and changed it to my satisfaction. If I had been there at the time of the work it would not have happened.

We have used them a number of times and will use them again. They are prompt.
