Maintenance Lawn Services

Very clean and professional work, sometimes a little pricey. Very amiable and nice people, but hard to get on the phone. They do reply to emails and phone calls a few days later, but sometimes communication takes a while. Their main guy, Angel, is amazing.

I was notified of the time of arrival and the crew arrived in a reasonable time. Two very polite and professional young men asked me what I needed to have done. I showed them how I wanted three to four old, overgrown azaleas removed, a couple of large Cuba Japonica shrubs cut down around a tree stump (which I am going to have removed), a small, dead fig tree cut down, and two large branches of arborvitae cut to the ground; plus, if time allowed, to mow the lawn. The two men worked steadily. They appeared to be skillful in using their equipment, including a chain saw. They used a mattock or something similar to remove the roots of the azaleas, and smoothed the ground. (I was able later simply to spread grass seed and mulch very easily.) All the branches were removed and put in their truck for disposal. They mowed and edged the lawn very professionally, and blew clear all the cut grass from the walkway. The results were exactly as I wanted. I would definitely hire this provider again.

From almost the beginning we had issues that raised red flags, from coordinating the initial work to them trying to impose limitations/constraints on the package that were not in the deal I purchased. One big point of contention was that I had many discussions with them on their trying to charge me for mulch distribution that was already included in the package. I thought I had worked through those issues with them, and I even gave them the opportunity to try and clarify any other points of concern with the package deal as I didn't want to have any points of contention with them going forward, since they cited character/space limitations on what Angie's list let them put online. Since they had no adjustments and I thought we had worked through the issues, I decided to keep going when I should have ended the relationship right then and there. After their initial yard work, all they did was cut my grass on random weekends. Sometimes they wouldn't come because of weather which I could understand. Other times they wouldn't show and I had no idea why. My grass never got out of control so I didn't complain because ultimately as long as they kept up on it I was fine. I certainly never got close to the "up to 25 seasonal mowings" that were supposed to happen "weekly". I followed up with them about mulch distribution again in the late summer/early fall, and they pushed me to the spring of the following year. They cleaned up leaves from my yard twice in late fall. Starting in 2/2015 we had several back and forth emails about what I expected to be done from the original contract when they tried to sell me a new one, well before my 1 year package was expired. Those back and forth emails continued with them being VERY unresponsive to where I had to keep chasing after them to get a response. Then in 4/2015 they informed my "1-Year Lawn and Landscape Maintenance Package" was actually seasonal and ended in 12/2014 even though they didn't start work until mid-5/2014 (and essentially stopped working in 11/2014). They had multiple opportunities to convey to this to me earlier in 2015, not to mention before 2014 ended, and chose to wait until 4/2015 to clarify their position. They have not fulfilled their various obligations in the package deal, and even ignored the "out" I gave them of just pruning my bushes one more time (to count as the 2nd out of 4 times they are supposed to do it), spread the mulch they were obligated to, and cut my grass until the beginning of May (which at the time I offered it would have been for 1 month) so we could go our separate ways and they wouldn't have to do the rest of the items on the list. They also lied to me saying I told them I didn't want them to spread the mulch, even though I have a detailed timeline of email exchanges showing quite the opposite. I have had to repeatedly chase after them for responses and follow ups, including a recent incident where they didn't both to show up at the agreed upon time, and essentially ignored me after that. Essentially this company has not upheld their end of this deal. They have not performed some of the items on the list at all, others they have not fulfilled the number of times they were supposed to, and ended the "1-Year" deal prematurely. Because I only got maybe 6 months of service out of them, and they didn't do a number of items on the list (such as only don't 1 out of 4 shrub prunings) I feel like I only got 1/2 of my money's worth out of the package deal. The only positive thing I can say about them is what work they did do seem decent which is why I gave them a fair rating on the quality.

I purchased a year long contract. It was not a satisfactory experience. There was a lot of nickel and dime items, where Marcelo would claim that it was not part of the price purchased. It was very difficult getting plant installation scheduled, which was part of the package. The worst part of the situation is where one of the employees - twice - attempted to cut the lawn after very heavy rains, and made very deep ruts and tracks in our yard with the heavy mowers. Anyone who did this type of work for a living, and cared about their work, would never have placed equipment like this on saturated soil; after damage started, they would stop. I had to really hold their feet to the fire to repair the areas, which required placing fresh sod there. Because the damage happened in the fall, it is questionable whether the repair will hold. I regret that I cannot recommend this service to others in our Maryland community.

I paid them more for mulching and weeding. They are a basic lawn service and they are not what they advertise to be, a kind of full service. They are a good lawn service if you want your lawn cut and edge. They did fertilize and aerate once. They rake the leaf into big pile and it was up to us to move them to the streets. They were personable but I got the sense that they kind of over booked themselves because they were not here very long. They did not seem organize and sometimes they didn’t come on the day they were suppose. We agreed on when they should come so we can put away the water hose so they don’t have to do it. They were supposed to some on a Thursday and sometime they came on Saturday morning. Sometimes they did not do the weeding for like 3 months. Sometime they are here for 15 minutes and they are gone.

Horrible. Scheduling was difficult at best and often told by Lilly, the dispatcher, weather issues; that when all my neighbors service was in full swing. Required constant contact and supervision. On one of the first visits, the workers hacked off several tree limbs not at my request and completely destroyed the privacy screening that the trees provided. There was no edging done and after mows, I would have to sweep up clippings. Scattershot work and would not re-hire.

To begin, the crew arrived early on a day I had said in an email that I was NOT available. Thus, I had to quickly cancel other plans I'd made.. They were punctual, but on the WRONG DAY. The crew were professional, courteous, friendly, energetic, and zealous. They took no breaks. They were almost over zealous and removed mulch from the beds in my back yard along with the leaves. When I asked that they not remove the mulch from the front yard, they obliged. I had booked them with a Big Deal coupon from Angie's list that was $489 for 2 workers for 3 hours. The coupon stated "extra time can be purchased for an additional $62 per hour." I thought that meant for 2 people. When the work was only half done by the end of 3 hours, I was told by the workers that it would cost me $120 per hour for them to continue. I couldn't leave the mess only half done and told them I couldn't afford more than 3 more hours of their time. They finished in a little over 3 more hours.. Having previously purchased the coupon through Angie's List, I gave them a check for $360. Although they did an incredible job of moving leaves into a pile by the road, I believe $849 for 6 hours of raking leaves in a lot that's smaller than 1/8 of an acre is so expensive it's ridiculous. I would not have engaged their services, had I realized that they couldn't complete the work in 3 hours or that the coupon meant I would be paying $120 an hour more for just raking/blowing leaves into a pile.

They were difficult to schedule. Then when the guys came, they didn't even mow the back yard. I also asked them to trim the grass in the vegetable garden, but they only did that when I was actually there telling them to do it right then. The edging was never well done, and they would even miss spots in the yard. They did an incredibly crappy job. I mow the lawn better than they did! The angle's list price wasn't even that cheap. I would never use them again...EVER!

Called the number on Angie's List to get cost on leaf removal at approximately 1:30pm. I left a message but no one called me back. It has been approximately 10 days since I called. In response the Maintenance Lawn Services below: I am afraid you are mixing me up with someone else. I never spoke to anyone from your company let alone made arrangements to meet with someone. I would never put up a false review on Angie's List. We had no contact what so ever.

I called the company to see about a leaf clean up and talked to Lilly, who was very nice. She quoted me $250 for 2 leaf clean-ups, plus an extra $60 for weeding and $25 for mowing. She was so nice that when she told me they also had a cleaning service, I happily took the referral. I asked if they needed the see the yard first and they said no. I ended up sending her pictures to make sure we were on the same page. She never responded to my message with the pictures and also never sent me the confirmation email that was promised. On the day of service, the workers arrived and promptly called their boss to tell him the job was "much bigger than they thought." They put the boss (Marcello) on the phone with me and he casually tells me that the job is bigger than they thought so it will be $850 for labor, plus the cost of mulch - over $1,000. No apology or acknowledgement that the quotes were so different. I told him that Lilly told me they didn't need to see the yard and he said "it's always better to see the yard first," as if we weren't talking about his own employee. He made no apologies, and in fact started getting short with me after only about 2 minutes of me trying to understand how the price had quadrupled. He told me it already took the workers 40 minutes to get to my house (as if this were my fault? I live in Silver Spring...) and that they either needed to start working or leave. I asked how much it would cost to just pick up the leaves (no mowing or weeding) and he said $250. I was so frustrated that I said fine. But a few minutes later when I was clarifying with the workers what they would be doing, they shared with me that they had been told to do "as much as they could" in two hours. So, if you blow all the leaves to the middle of the yard and then the two hours expires, you will abandon the job? I asked. The answer was yes. Needless to say, I asked the workers to leave and did not agree to the price or the work. The whole thing was absolutely ridiculous and honestly, felt rehearsed - like this is their business model. I later found out that it IS in fact their business model to shake people down once they get to their house. I had the cleaning service come only two days later and to my astonishment, they did the EXACT SAME THING. I was almost embarrassed for them that they wouldn't think NOT to do it again to me, since it made it so painfully clear that they are running a dishonest company. I will write a separate review for the cleaning service, but in short, they e-mailed me 3 hours into the job and said the cleaning girls said the house needs another hour of work for an extra $96. They can either abandon the job halfway through or I could pay more. A complete shakedown. It is this company's BUSINESS MODEL to get in and then significantly increase the price when you have very little choice, by claiming the job is much more complicated than they thought and they charge but the hour. In both cases they made it seem as if it were MY fault that the job was "bigger" than anticipated. I wasn't even going to write a review, because as upset as I was, I don't like to mess with anyone's livelihood, especially a small company. But after yesterday when the cleaning service pulled the EXACT SAME thing, I realized that I need to warn other consumers. They are a scam company.

The workers did an excellent job, accommodated our scheduling needs, polite and courteous both on email, phone, and while doing work. The only glitch was communication in the beginning- and I think it was b/c they were using Angie's List email rather than my home email, which I expected. We plan to hire them for more work!

The person they sent was great; very punctual and pleasant. I was impressed ny teh amount of work he was able to get done in the time.

I have been struggling with their services so far. They have been cutting the lawn well in a timely manner. The cleaning and weeding of the flower beds have been problematic, however. I have been emailing with them to try to work with them to work on cleaning the beds better. I have addressed the issue several times with them. I feel like I should not have to work this hard to have the service done the way it should be. They have only allocated one hour a month for weeding and I know my yard takes more than that. They said the deal stated that but I have not been able to see that in the deal details. They never told me that up front. The staff is nice enough but I feel like they could have been more descriptive in what they were offering. I have been disappointed with the service so far especially after investing so much money on the project. I feel like they have over committed and were not aware of how much work it would actually. I have also paid additional fees for leaf clean up that was supposed to be included in the deal.

So far so good. The service contract is for the year. I will update the review at the conclusion of the service or if it changes in the meantime.

Maintenance Lawn Services worked really hard. There was only a team of 2 men and they did quite a lot for a 4 hour time slot that I got from my coupon. There was an overgrowth of weeds and shrubs in my backyard that I needed cleared so that I can reseed it with grass and they did an excellent job with it. They took real care in trimming my hedges and planting my hydrangeas as well. I would hire them again. I might add a caveat that while they were late, Lilly did call me to inform me what was going on.

The guys who came out and performed the work were prompt, courteous and worked very quickly to get as much done in the time alloted. The only reason I gave the company an overall score of "B" was because it took so long to confirm an appointment and because there was an unexpected hall-away fee for the leaves. My thought was that since they knew they were being hired to clear away leaves and weeds, they should have built that into their offer or, at the very least, told me up front that there would be an additional charge.

They did an average job, and I had to remind them to blow away the leaves on one of my patios. They also left the leaves on the steps that connect my two patios even after I reminded them about the leaves the first time.

They were so wonderful and I will use only them from now on. They were prompt and worked so efficiently and were very detailed. Their prices are very competitive and they were so nice to work with, my yard has never looked this good.

It was a little bumpy as far as scheduling, perhaps due to being overwhelmed by the number of deals they sold. Everyone who I was in contact with from the office to the crew who did the work was very nice and efficient. I have no complaints about the service its self, and the only minor issue I had was the scheduling.

They did contact me about when they were coming, however they did not tell me when they arrived. They asked me how much mulch I needed and did not provide it at all. It kind of heightened my expectations. But their labor was good. Their customer service was not that good.

The deal said that the served Prince George's County but after I ordered it the company said it doesn't do work in the county.

The team arrived on time, understood my requests, provided suggestions and left everything nice and neat. I will be using them again.

They cut the grass and take care of the weeds. I am glad I have a contract with them.

We had a great experience with Maintenance lawn Services. From start to finish my projects they were super professional and on time. I will definitely consider them for every angle project I have.

The 1st time they showed up, they cleaned most of the weeds on one side of the garden, but not all of them. They did not correctly trim the tree nor did they bring or spread mulch. After I contacted them to indicate that they had not done a proper job, one person came back and cut more branches off the tree than was necessary. He also removed some weeds that had not been removed on the previous visit, but not all of them. I had to go back and complete the weeding. His boss, Manuel Rezende, called to follow-up and I told him about the problems. He decided to compensate me by not charging for the mulch. While that is appreciated, the fact remains that after two visits, they could not do a proper job. I, of course, will not use them again.
