Spoke with Megan Wise from Movers USA after finding their info on Angie's List (AL). After shopping around a bit more, I went back to negotiate (as you should when selecting a mover) with Movers USA based upon comparable companies offering the same or better services. Since Movers USA received great ratings from AL I wanted to hire them. Monica followed up with a quote that was more expensive than the initial quote and no one ever came out to do an onsite estimate in an effort to provide the most accurate quote. When I pointed this out, I never heard back from her. Instead Ray Wise sent me an email the next day stating that they're services were no longer available due to an impending commercial job during the same time frame I requested. Not questioning the validity of the new work; just believe the timing of the notification after I pointed out the more expensive price quote leaves a little to be desired. Guess I'm glad I decided to book with another company prior to receiving the email from Ray. Just be aware people and DO YOUR HOMEWORK with fact checking, ratings and comparison shopping.

The 3 movers (Alberto, Doge, Rodrigo) arrived on time, loaded the truck with care and safely transported the house contents. They explained how they were going to move things and welcomed my input.

I was concerned about punctuality since my move occurred over the 4th of July holiday. The packers were on time and finished on time. The loaders were on time at the origin and destination points. I was not able to check off the inventory list as items were loaded and unloaded, but I have not found any missing items. The most extensive damage was to my antique roll top desk. It can be repaired but not restored to original condition.

One of the BEST moves I’ve ever have been involved in. I was put at ease from the time I made the phone call to get a quote. I walked room by room and detailed what was going to be moved. I was told that a 4-man crew would be my best option and the job could be completed in 8-10 hours (3-bedroom SF house w/ a basement to a 3-bedroom townhome w/ a basement and loft). I was also told ways that I could save time and keep the move closer to the 8-hour time frame (I moved my own collectables, clothes and food; I moved/staged all boxes from top and bottom floors to the main floor). I will tell you now I took full advantage of that option. I did call competing movers just to make sure everyone was on the same page and while MoversUSA wasn’t the cheapest they were right in line with some but I was very comfortable with the conversations I had with Gil and Megan that I booked them for the move. On move day the movers showed up around 8:15am and after a quick room-by-room assessment they got moving. By noon the truck was loaded except for the misc stuff I asked them to leave behind that I would take care of myself (again to save time and money). On the 15-minute drive to the new residence I did stop and pick up the guys some lunch (fast food meals is what they wanted). After a 30-minute break they started unloading…These guys hauled butt! The only slow-down they really had was getting my large desk and hutch units up to the loft (large bulky furniture). It did take all 4 of them working together to get the furniture up there. They did have to take some railing and doors down but that was the easy part. By 4:30 they were done…furniture in place (reassembled if needed to be); boxes all in tact and in the proper rooms. A quick inventory and checking of the truck and they were heading home. As I was emptying the boxes; not one thing I have come across was broken, chipped or damaged in any way. I attribute that to my good packing and care they used when moving, wrapping furniture and placing the boxes. I read reviews of people complaining because the movers left marks and scratches on the walls…COME ON, it’s gonna happen regardless of who moves you. They did have me sign a waiver when they had an issue with the desk/hutch (mentioned above). I can fix a wall for cheap…ended up being nothing a damp cloth couldn’t clean up. Thanks MoversUSA, I will forward your info to my friends and call you back in a few years when I have to move again!!!!

nothing broken, on time, dc folks excellent. fl guys gouged us a bit because my mother had a long driveway. charged me 'shuttle fee' as if they parked on another street. contract wasnt entirely clear about what was needed for large tractor trailor to park and unpack.

It went well, we estimated about the right amount of time for 4 hours, it was raining and they took good care not to mess up any of the carpets... They wrapped the piano up very nicely for storage.

Movers were on time, fast helpful, and thorough.

There were some damages to my hardwood floor, but the movers said they did not do it. That was disappointing. I have to file a claim. There was also come price creep at the end of the move that tacked on approximately and extra $300 to the cost. In addition, I was told that delivery time could be coordinated. But when the driver got to town, he told me that I had to be available when they arrived so I had to leave my new job in the middle of the day on my 3rd day of work. Besides those few issues, the staff was friendly and the process seemed to run smoothly. I would probably use them again, just being a little more cautious on the terms of agreement.

Jim at movers USA was very helpful and was willing to update our estimate as we added items to it over the week of packing that we did. Angel, Rodrigo, and Alberto were outstanding. They arrived on time, did a walk through to ensure that they knew what we wanted them to move, and then expertly moved our belongings. They were extremely careful with fragile items and wrapped up all of our furniture. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Movers USA, and especially this crew, to anyone.
